If we can move that to here, how we have to do that or anybody's thoughts. >> Can you give me a little more detail? >> Our uh fall and spring music program for the elementary school, it's in the gym in Hollywood. >> Okay. The numbers are so huge at the elementary that we do >> two different programs the same night. >> They started doing that um in co to try to like cut things down but >> cut the size down. >> But even that like >> because we were in the second Yeah. enrollment is the classes are so big that like when the people get there from the second program there's nowhere to park >> because everybody's already I mean there are cars all the way around the building and a block and a half down the street >> and in the parking lots >> and even in in both programs the it's full seating is full >> the only concern concern I would have with that is with with the air conditioning.
We know we had to supplement that fund. So you can see in the m column A there at 850,000 it was nice to put it in capital for two seconds but we needed more seriously an M fund. So that 850,000 is in the M O column and that's what we're trying to get away from. We're trying to reduce the number of extra costs. uh we can't increase students so we have to reduce costs. We have to be really careful with our cash. So that 850,000 went from the capital budget into the M budget. Then go down a little ways to line 8B and you see that budget balance carried forward from the M fund from the end of the 2425 year 982,000. That's nice to have a budget of 19 million with a million coming forward that 982761 from the prior year as meaning unspent.
It's called power purchase agreements. That is where you basically just lease your roof. You give access to a company 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to come anytime they want cuz it's actually their system, and they give you fractions of pennies back. Um we have not used that model. We have not seen success, and obviously, when we're talking about this these huge rebates, feel the district would be better off with those. Most of the companies that do the PPAs, they collect the the money. So, um in this case, this is purely an ownership. It's your system. You at minimum have to keep it in place for 15 years for your wreck income uh contract. After that, you're welcome to do uh with whatever you want. But again, it will continue to produce if you just leave it and forget it. >> Is there any significant maintenance that we need to consider as costs?
It's really at the high school level where you get into those college level classes. And we all remember what it costs to buy college level textbooks. Um, and that is where the state just has never really fully accounted for those additional expenses. Um, and and then those ancillary costs that kind of go along with those courses as well. >> I just remember being a PLTW teacher having middle schoolers uh do their brain dissection and not their own brain but some cases >> it was a large expense but it it's not many students are getting that hands-on opportunity that early. Um and even helping uh students like u non- majors at DEPA in my senior year, the first dissection you do is always going to be bad. Uh it's unlikely to be excellent. So if you get that first one done when you're younger than by the time you're a freshman in college, you're much more likely to get, you know, nerves and and legitimate anatomy uh learning rather than this is fun.
So, those issues are anywhere from 2 to 4 years old. I would voice to echo what um Ms. Wilden said. I also think that another committee is an a necessary thing in the policy. Okay. All right. Uh I want to give board members Mr. Schulz, everybody present a chance to ask a question or uh say make a statement about what's important to you. Um I think We'll try to wrap this up by 6:30 and then move on to an executive session if that's possible. Mr. Schulz Do you want me to go first? Sure. Yeah. Uh I I said given the current climate regarding trustees and so forth, I I think a committee that's independent actually makes sense. I think it creates further transparency. So, I do I support that. I also think and I'll follow up with the email that all board members that are sitting should have the last two SBOA reports and audits uh prior to making a decision on this.
Um and then we had in Mrs. Rush's room uh they could do a jellyfish jellyfish handprint. Um and label that with googly eyes. Um and then in Mrs. Be's room they there was a pool with ocean animals and deli wristbands. um so they could fish for one of the uh two of the different items and say hi to the teachers in there. Um and then we also had the registration station as well um for people to register. And then there was also a photo booth and then Mr. Troy was um the shark and played the baby shark song. I'm sure we all know um for the kids as they walk through the gym. And then they can stop in the office and the nurses station as well. Uh go through the lunch line as well for some goldfish. I think that was the other one.
So if we do that well, we're we're winning for our students anyways and our community is winning. I think Mrs. Gray shared this with you as part of your board information. and it's a single page or two cited. I would really encourage you if you want to learn more about this after we're finished. That's probably the single best resource that encapsulates a lot of what we're talking about here. But on the next slide, if you don't mind, Mrs. Gray, it really talks about kind of two lanes. The first lane or your kind of entry gate point is academic mastery. So, if you think about um attending a sporting event, that's general admission seating. You first have to pass through the gate. So, the academic mastery is your opportunity to get into the stadium in the first place. That's your ticket. And the way we do that, like at the high school, is to be able to have a a cut score, PSAT score, or SAT score, or earn your diploma.
Any opposed? >> With none. 5 Z. >> My next one was cut off. I think it says >> here. It's right here. I didn't print on uh request permission to apply for a new student a new school identification number for the academy virtual. We've had a big old presentation on this little cart before the horse over there. Mr. Is there a motion to approve? >> I'll make a motion. >> Motion by Vicki. Is there a second? >> Sorry. There's a second. >> Go ahead. >> Any further discussion or questions? >> All those in favor signify by sign of I. >> I.
Yeah, I mean 10-2, bases loaded. Hits a ground ball to the shortstop, who goes to second base for one out. So Butera man reaches on the fielder's choice, does still knock a run in. RBI for her. As Venditti comes in to score. Uh Koch goes over to third. Colette gets out on the 6-4, and Butera man reaches on the fielder's choice. Butera man basically walks down to second base with on catcher indifference. So now we've got runners on first and second uh with Casadian up, who took the first pitch for a ball. Casadian also hit an RBI single uh earlier in this inning. She's looking for her second hit of the game and second hit of the inning. That'd be nice. And she puts one just foul. That would have been beautiful placement, cuz absolutely two runs would have come in on that opposite if that thing had just snuck inside the the the foul line.
Um, you know, I'm I'm going to break it apart in two different sections. You have your Christmas concert, right? Um, you know, would we have that in the auditorium or would we have that in the gym, right? And then the setup for that and then if we did have it in the gym, you know, having those bleachers and stuff on the new gym floor is just a little bit of a concern. >> Um, but then on the other side of it, you know, it Dalton is right, it is hot in there in the spring. There are so many people in there. Um I hate I would hate you know >> well and I see the difficult part in it because the kids go to the classrooms first >> and then each teacher brings them down. You know how that >> you're transplanting a lot of kids to an unfamiliar environment.
If we didn't have both of those numbers, that 982 and the 850 together like 1.7 million, our Mino budget, if you go all the way down, wouldn't be 19 million3 like it is right now, 19,391 135. It would be 17 million5. And we know we're going to spend, we just got through the 16th. So those those two things really have helped, but we can't keep counting on money left out of capital to move over. We can't keep counting on having 982,000 every year unspent. So, so a lot of lot of work has gone into this to ensure that those numbers match exactly what we have to to work with for year end.
>> Yeah. That So, we added about $15,000 a year in annual just checkup, tweaking things here and there. There's a an extra supply of um of panels that come with and inverters. Those are inverters are usually the thing if you're going to have a problem, that's where it's going to be. Um there's a lot of electrical components. Um the racking panels, they all come with 12-year warranties. The The actual produce uh there's a production warranty on the panels that they'll produce at least 80% 25 years from now. So again, there shouldn't be a lot um of warranty needs and a lot of fixing. Big snow, huge ice, yep. Guess what? The panels are going to be covered for a bit, but they're they're black, they heat up once once the sun touches them. They usually uh melt and take care of themselves and rain is actually good, it washes the panels uh from dust and debris.
What can I get out of this? They still get a lot in middle school, but it's a middle school level. I had a few questions. So, as far as the fees, I'm assuming you'll work with families and if they need to do a payment plan, you'd be willing to do a payment plan. >> Um, and are we in line? I don't know if we have other data from other districts. Are we like are our fees comparable to other districts around? >> So, um, we've seen fees from a couple other central Indiana districts and I would say yes. We're probably a little on the lower end, average end. Um, districts around us are having conversations. We haven't seen theirs yet. I think they're in the same um step of the process that we are. >> Okay. And then um the instrument fee, this my understanding is that it's not if you rent from pages, this will not affect you.
Pick anything final? Uh Yeah, to go back to what Mr. Schulz said in terms of timelines and everything, the one thing I did see in 100R, the extracurricular fund, uh that actually does lay out uh a whole list of timelines where F100 is not. Um so that would be something I'd like to see is a timeline in terms of uh frequency of how things are how often things are seen. Um for instance, FR F100R talks about um the treasurer and deputy treasurer review all ECA accounts monthly. Um so that that's a good thing where we actually have eyes on that one. They're reviewed annually and bi-annually, honestly. Um and so along with all the annual trainings and everything that goes on in that. So in in the policy, it it'd be great to see that kind of updated in F100. I or even if we look at Jason's deeper um but that's pretty much it.
And then instead of a bus ride, they just did a bus tour. So they just got to get on the bus, look at it. Um we thought that was enough for the littles. And then um overall um 19 in attendance, 16 are registered completely right now and one is in process. So our goals um next year would be to obviously make sure we boost that up being a new thing. Um and then just some ideas looking forward possibly combining the two nights for more attendance. Um some things to ensure we did have some people that came to visit from other places um who were having a hard time getting a hold of those. So we realized some um things we need to improve upon to make sure we have everyone we need to get registered. So that's it. Thank you for listening. >> Okay. Uh, Mr.
That puts you in the arena to compete. And then after that you can choose your seat so to speak or earn bonus points um for the school and for each individual student through the additional knowledge, skills and experiences. So in order to do those though you got to be in inside to be able to accomplish that. So at the end of the day really focusing on those big rocks at the elementary, middle and high school levels will be important and then we'll be able to build off of that. So, at the elementary level, it's about I read and I learn. At the middle schools, it's about earning some high school credits and I learn. And at the high school, it's about earning diplomas, earning higher seals, earning numbers of credits. As Miss Brown alluded to, we did get a curveball right at the end. Um, in fact, we thought it was all done and finalized and they bumped on target and on track credits for freshmen from 10 to 14.
>> Any opposed? >> Opposed? All right. >> Look what's next. Look what's next. >> Yeah, he's back there. All right. First reading, consideration of recommendation to approve the student parent handbooks for the school year 2026 2027. This is the meeting where we can ask all the questions and it's the first reading. Um, I'll start questions. No. >> No, you're good. >> Spell my name right. >> No, I'd like for Mr. dupes to approach the podium. >> Yes, sir.
>> and that ball was hit right towards us, so we saw it land maybe 1 ft outside of the foul line. But you're right, if that was inside it would have squirreled its way against the fence and two runs would have scored. So, Kazanjian is is one and one I believe and she takes ball outside. Two and one is now the count for Ruby. I think it's two Three and one. Three and one to Ruby. And she takes ball four inside and the bases are going to once again be loaded. Bases loaded now with one out. Well, we've played most of the inning with bases loaded and no outs. So, let's let's let's continue to cause some damage here. Kriegsman comes to the plate, takes first pitch strike. Again, Kriegsman also with a single in in the second inning. She's reached base twice today with a single and a walk.
>> Yep. >> But and the kids enjoy the parents to go to their classroom and this is what I did. This is >> I think we could still do that on like an open house and just do not have the program just do another night for the art classroom stuff and just make the program separate a different night >> because that's what we were actually talking about that at work and um I have a coworker who went to school here too and we were talking about what we did and we had our programs all in the gym here >> and they put a wire Yeah. >> From basketball to like that and had that big old paper behind >> the risers and that was their decoration. The art class would >> change. What are your do you have any thoughts or concerns on that? I know your teachers they do a lot out of their classrooms.
Um any questions on on that budget? >> Um but it is an action item and we will need to approve. >> Okay. Um I will get there back to where we action was. Here we go. Okay. I will make the motion >> on page 115 >> to approve the 2026 expenditure budget as presented. >> I second it. >> Thank you. All in favor? >> I I thank you. Item 10B is also you. >> Great. Okay. So this 10B if I guess the best word is hearken. If you could hearken back to what we talked about with the cash, you're gonna see some you're gonna see some information on that uh the cash that we looked at. And this is this is going back. If you want to click on that, uh I've got the documents right here for you to sign. And if you click on that action item, approving three annual financial reports.
