>> So move. Second, >> Dr. >> So, our vehicle was no longer working and so very kind of the Carol County Sheriff's Department to donate this vehicle to us. So, I would like to thank them. So, asking for you to accept the transfer of this vehicle to us. >> It's working. >> This vehicle is working. That is correct. It's a working vehicle. Good question. improve. >> Last one last. >> All right. 12 years they gave us two. >> All right. All in favor of AK the resolution to accept the transfer and retitling of a 2021 Dodge Charger police vehicle say I. >> I. >> Opposed. Motion carries. All right. 8K and L. I'd like to get a motion uh to discuss the Glossom Food Equipment two door freezer with an increase of a price since Laquo as well as the Glossom food equipment disposer. There was a freight charge increase added to the invoice motion discuss >> second.
We're going to we're going to dominate in that for the end product. But know this, I don't want our kids thinking they failed because they got a the personal grade of this and they were the reason of this. That's very dangerous logic or thinking. We're taking the positive approach. It's going to be the greatest culture for kids and we have evidence of that. We're going to work on attendance rates through interventions, not a hammer here. Interventions as we sit and talk to moms, dads, grandmas, and kids and say, "We want you here. How can we help you?" The growth rate, we're already into that here. You'll see that throughout our thing. And the end product is, you just heard Dr. Digs say, "My goodness, is this a progressive high school. This accountability model actually will model us, not the other way. We just need to know what the rules are at a high level." So, our kids benefit from it.
Dubes, I told Mr. Starky a couple weeks ago, I'm able to go to the high school on for lunch on Fridays. It's a short stint and all the staff is great. Um, the doobes pops out my mind that he's everywhere and he doesn't have the most desirable duties all the time, but discipline and a lot of those type of things. He seems to be everywhere. I see him running and doing this and being called and munchroom this or whatever. And anyway, I appreciate your efforts and thank you very much. >> Appreciate you. Thank you. Unfortunately, the only time he does that is on Friday afternoon, 11 to 12. We're trying to end the guy on a good note. Thank you. With that we are jiren and time for secretary So I'm
So, for an ASL course, you're normally looking at a 1.0 to a 3.5, and this covers that, and then it can go beyond. So, it scaffolds their instruction. It's rich, it's interactive, and there are supports for the teachers, including like media, um, there's audio that helps in speaking and interacting. This is coming in at 10,497 thousand dollars. The teachers' editions are 651 and 90 cents. The training's a thousand dollars. So, it's approximately 12,463 thousand dollars and 86 cents. The only consideration is if we would want to use a consumable in the future. Right now, the workbook is all digital, so that is in the cost that you're seeing there. The cost is also a six-year license. We have one course, one section at Oswego East, and one section at Oswego High School. So, moving forward, this will put us into stage three. We would need to train our staff on the new resource.
>> Okay. Um this Amanda. >> Yes. So, um, apparently it was my fault, obviously. Um, it was an older quote, so >> come through the streets. Yeah. >> The $210 increase um just for equipment um was just because it was an old quote. It wasn't updated. And then the freight charge also was not included. That was $197. So, um going forward, I have to make sure that I request any freight charge on there as well. It was just an oversight. Um so um moving forward I can do better at this. >> Okay. So these were we have approved these but there was a little bit of change in there. Yeah. >> Um so that's what she is explaining there. >> Uh any other questions or comments on that? >> Okay. Uh all in favor of the 8K and L the increase price on 8K and the also the freight charge upgrade on 8 L.
But we're 90% home. And then you'll see an active dashboard that just updates all the time. And then we talk about it and you guys ask questions. But please know this, a certain percentage of our children may not do well as any other district. They will never be the blame of a percentage here on a school grade and that will never come out of my mouth or anybody's mouth in Huntington. Those kids are progressing at a rate that's appropriate for them. And maybe it's even better than one would hope. And so please know with comes accountability comes those who would throw stones. Those stones are being thrown at children and their success rates or the pace of their success rates. That will never be our model here. We'll be protective of our own. We'll own it if it's not going well and then the data will be so fluid that we any of us can talk about it at any time.
We would need to implement the new curriculum. Um, next year, we would also need to look at refining and making any changes and reviewing our students' performance overall. So, tomorrow, we would put this proposed curriculum at the district office with a QR code. In July, we would ask that you vote on it. And if it's approved, we would be ordering shortly thereafter. And that's it. >> Thank you. >> What questions do you have? >> Just one quick question. How many resources were reviewed? >> We looked at three. >> Just wondering. >> Definitely three. Um HMH, Estella, Savvas. >> Can you share a little bit? First of all, congratulations. I know that as you said, this is a lot of work. Uh sprint marathon, I like that term. I haven't heard that before. Um can you talk about how you will have thought about the professional learning for the educators who will be using this, where that would fit into the sequence.
Uh say I >> I >> oppos. >> All right. Motion carries. 8 m. The summer cafeteria. I get a motion to discuss summer cafeteria pay increase effective from 526 through 6:22 of 2026. Recommendation. >> So move. >> Second. >> Dr. I'll turn that over to Amanda. Um so our staff um they're only contracted for 184 days. So technically it's all voluntary voluntary I can't talk. Um so um usually to to combat that and to kind of thank them for stepping forward because if it wasn't for them we couldn't run for summer um it's a slight pay increase just for the time frame of summer of $2. >> So this is something we've done every summer. Is that correct? Right. >> So, this isn't new. This is just a we've approved this going into the summer uh to allow the cafeteria staff to get paid for it outside of what they usually get paid.
And then soon as we figure this out, I'll show you. By the way, hey, our growth rate's actually a time and a half above everyone in the north right now. By the way, your SAT, I believe you're just under the international group right now. Correct. Currently, the kids of Huntington North are doing better across the board in the SAT. The end result academically of how we're doing at a higher rate than almost everyone. Jay's rate already there. It's excellent. What's wonderful, what matters, the process along the way, great environment. Mr. Allen reminded me and I really want to make sure this culture is the is the best environment on earth for children. We want to celebrate them all the time. If you're not careful on dashboards and those things, you can forget we're not making a car. These are children. And if they bump along the way, we own it.
I think that's been a big Um I know that's a priority for the team. Um and so, how do we do that in a way that's thoughtful and respectful of the the role that teachers have to play then in adopting this. >> So, that's a question because we're bringing this so late. >> Yeah. >> Um so, that was one thing they asked that if they got summer hours, they would like to use part of their summer training to to actually do that. That was what they really proposed. Um if not, we would bring it in toward the start of the school year so that we could get them trained fully. Um the company will give us a digital license immediately once a contract is signed. >> Right. >> Um so, they will have access to that.
>> It's a good incentive. >> Any questions or comments? >> What's the total cost to do that? >> See, it's a $2 per hour increase. So I might have to >> it's it's only six um six cafeteria workers, three at the high school and three at the elementary school, which is what's required. >> It's a small number is what I was getting at. >> Yeah, it's it's $2 an hour extra just to add a little bit for their time. So it's no more than >> Yeah, it just makes it a little more enticing coming in the drive. Okay. All in favor of 8M the summer cafeteria pay increase effective from 526 through 622 say I >> I >> opposed. All right. Motion carries. Uh 8N. Let's get a motion to discuss benchmark the DCES emergency pump repair. Keep it moving. >> Um, so what happened?
We protect them along the way. So, I appreciate your your stuff tonight. I assure you I know the end product uh very soon. This isn't the first time through this and I have the best people on the planet and teachers and administrators helping them. So anxious to get started here and then um watch Huntington roll shortly. >> Yeah, I I appreciate that and I really want to see the see that and again I'm not as the model is that you have right behind you because I'm looking behind you and I see that every student every day. I'm more interested in the growth. >> Me too. >> That that's what I care about. And I think I've learned that from you and I think that's the important part. Um, but I still think we need to be able to tell that story and that's why I think we're starting to push on that.
Currently, they have the materials on hand and the rep is very eager to work with us and answer any questions. >> Actually, do you all does you want to add anything in terms of what you observed and the work >> Uh what I will add is to the team because they really did a sprint marathon um to get this going to dive standard. to Kelly and the team. >> Any other questions? >> I I do have a question. Um just because I don't know much about this, is this a class that's like a one section class and then they do topics on math, science, reading, and social studies? Kind of like a self-contained classroom in special ed. >> It is self-contained. Um I would not say like a day is math or a day is science. It's embedded within what they're doing that day. So, um think about elementary school when you're teaching like English their language arts class and they're embedding like a social studies topic within it or a science topic or a math topic.
The bearing went bad on one of the pumps for the boiler um loop and the shaft got gouged. So they had to pull the pump and rebuild it, put a new shaft in. So that's what that is. >> This was at the elementary school. >> Yes. It's not February. >> So, this is an emergency repair. It was >> It was like Februaryish. >> So, that's why it was an emergency. >> We're just getting caught up on this is what it looks like. Um that totals, $5,954.88.
>> I'm so ready to tell that story. I'm so proud of this district. I'm just anxious to to get going and that data the data in front of people that we can talk like you're asking about is the key because the the truth is the truth and our growth rates are going to be excellent and some of them already are. our SAT already is our IE already is our cultures are these are measurable and that's what you're asking for and I'm anxious my previous experience on this and our new deputy soup coming in uh his experience and I know Lyn and Dr. Diggins and and Lauren have been working on this with Mr. Peters and Tech. Um we're going to be ready to roll on this. I'm anxious to get going. >> Yeah. >> Thanks. Are the different categories are they all weighted the same or are they weighted uh you know attendance is it weighted lower than >> Great question.
So, they're learning both things at the same time. >> Okay. >> It aligns directly with what they take on their ACCESS proficiency tests every year. >> Okay. Thanks. >> Okay. Well, thank you. We appreciate Thank you again. All right, moving uh 10.3 the athletic training RFP. >> Thank you. >> Mr. Griffin? >> Yes, in the past we've always just used an athletic company that supports our athletes in the district. So, we decided to shift and follow the process that we've been using the last couple of years, which is to do an RFP. And then doing the RFP, we received two submissions. One was from Athletico and the other one from is from ATI. And as you can see in the submission here, the RFP was for 1 year with 2-year option renewal. And there's a significant difference in the pricing that we got. As you can see, uh Athletico submitted for a 3-year period if we go with them, $605,816 compared to $952,000.
Any questions upon this benchmark bill? for emergency repairs. Okay. All in favor of 8N the benchmark uh DCEES emergency pump repair say I >> opposed. >> All right. Motion carries. Uh we have one more here. 80 the motion for the elevated DCES wheelchair lift repair. Do I have a motion to discuss some move? >> Second. >> Is this your guess? >> Okay. Um, so I've had this quote for months because I was trying to get clarification on they just said said the rollers are bad. So apparently the rollers are part of what picks the lift up. So when you go on it right now, it goes up and then it falls to the side. So, currently they're carrying students >> until we can get this fixed. >> Where where is this located in the building? >> It's in the office between the office and the cafeteria.
So yes, there's some tiered uh waiting. Um so for example, um at the high school level, there's a heavier weight for some of the test scores like PSAT and SAT compared to some of the other uh information. But it's kind of again that analogy, getting yourself in in the game, so to speak. So if we're looking at each individual student, for them to really benefit us, but as Mr. Brimberry indicated to really benefit themselves. If they perform well from a test score or graduation diploma seal, um then the other things start to kind of stack on top. So when it comes down to it, the big rocks are weighted heavier and the others can add kind of bonus points for lack of a better phrase. >> So the the weight is changing as they get older. it. So, it's constantly changing from preK clear to 12.
while letting uh for ATI. And by the way, based on experiences that we've had with uh with both companies anyway, Athletico, they the folks who do the work, I prefer to work with Athletico. So, with that being said, we're recommending that the board approve uh us signing an agreement with uh Athletico based on the the outcome of the RFP. And in in the process of developing the RFP, there was a lot of engagement that took place from the athletic department to make sure that folks who will be impacted by this uh were involved in the discussion and the development of the RFP and also in the selection. So, there were stakeholders who engaged in making sure this came together well. >> Stakeholders being from the athletics department? >> Yes. >> Coaches? >> Yes. Uh administrators, those Yes. >> Great.
