Uh included in the package are minor revisions to policy GCL which have to do with uh employee travel throughout the school day. uh educator plan time, which includes uh an opportunity for individual plan time over the summer, as well as collaborative uh team planning during the school year. And then allowing uh some time for each professional development day to be to have 90 minutes allocated for individual teacher planning time.
Uh I would just like to thank everyone that supported me here at CHS and everyone that allowed me to be the best me I could be and allowed me to get to my future career as a Purdue engineer, which is a hard acceptance rate. Two months ago, we took 90 Athenians to four countries across Europe. There were 77 students, 12 chaperons, and myself. and every single one of us and all of our passports made it back in one piece. I could I I could stand up here and talk about the highlights and I could stand up here and talk about the low lightss, but the biggest impact this trip has is something you have to watch over time.
Um it couldn't be done without the help from the parents, and uh of course, our teachers that volunteer for all those extra activities. It's just such a wonderful thing, and thank you all so much for being here tonight to celebrate everything the students have done. Thank you, sir. Mr. Tanerio. Okay. Um again, I'd like to thank all the kids for representing us so well. Um that's a lot of clubs we have. And I'm I'm very proud of our school for having so many options for our kids. These clubs are just as important as any sports activities. It teaches them life lessons. And uh I'll throw a special shout out to uh Rue. What's your last name, honey? I watched students go from completely shut down, closed off, didn't know everybody, first time on an airplane to navigating the streets of Barcelona on on their own. and that kind of growth is not something that I can give them in my science classroom. Um, so in order to kind of get a more personal connection with some of those experiences, I have two students, Travis Bolton and Naomi Sanchez, who are going to talk about their experience on the trip. >> Hello, my name is Travis Walton. I am a senior here at CHS and I did not write anything for this because I think that it would be best to give you my raw unfiltered experience with the trip. So, uh we had a stress-free morning getting to the airport with uh Miss Carter. She was handling everyone really well and we got to the country of Italy and we met our first guide.
Best she take her sign straight off. She didn't She could finally get down to student council. Thank you for being in so many clubs and representing us. You did a great job. I'm sure you're going to be a massive success. So, uh besides that, I'd just like to thank everybody for coming and uh see you next time. Thank you, sir. Same thing uh you heard three times by the time it gets to me, you're going to hear it a fourth, but great job, kiddos. Uh you guys are the reason I love sitting up on this board. Um, these changes were made based on the information uh, shared with me from uh, the data from uh, the 15th of April because we've not gotten to the 15th of May yet. His name was um Danielle and we immediately started to uh engage in the culture of Italy and uh we then got to experience some free time in the shopping district which I'm sure people like Mesa would enjoy. And as I my shy little self went around uh trying to engage in the area I felt a little disconnected until I started talking to other students students that I had never talked before talked to before students that I hadn't really even known and then I started to feel that I was connecting with people that I never knew I would be able to connect with. Uh for example another who I who I can mention here is Daniel. I barely talked to Daniel before this trip, even though we've been going to high school together for four years. But once uh we were on this trip together, we were making jokes, we were having a great time, we were engaging in uh jokes that Miss Carter wouldn't like.

And uh and then um we also know that we have some other budgets which have to zero out at the end of the year. uh and we know that right now they are in the red. So um I incorporated covering those uh there are two of those budgets um child care center um and uh teacherage um and it's not because we're not making for teacherage. It's not because we're not that we underestimated the cost of operating the houses. It's because we were uh still doing some of the landscaping work and uh and we know we will recoup those funds. Um next year um the teacher the uh childcare center um because of an u a lot of those changes in um uh emergency funding or um pandemic funding that helped parents uh be able to get assistance for child care. um those expired and so some of our employees no longer qualified for those.
