Well, thank you, Mr. Music, for making that donation. Anybody else? Hearing none, Mr. Puleski. I. Mr. Music. I. Mr. Tanario. I. And I vote I. Moving on to the next items in under personnel. I recommend to the board this evening that they accept the resignations effective at the end of the school year for the following employees: Kim Hayes, principal at Bailey Elementary School. Deanna Gertzema, second grade teacher here at Bailey Elementary School. And Ellen Moss, superintendent secretary. And her resignation date effective on May 26th, 2026. Hearing the recommendation. I'll make a motion to approve. I'll second the motion to approve.
Um We should start it with the board finds or the planning board finds. Um I'm fine with the planning board finds impacts to town services and infrastructure will be minimal. Does anyone have anything they'd rather put? Okay. Um number eight is about everything being underground. Um I They have the the lights the conduits for lights will be underground. Be underground. So, the plan planning board finds in favor of the above statement that basically everything is underground. Number nine, exposed storage areas, machinery, blah blah blah. Everything should be um Can we take the same wording from number six that the board finds any objectional objectionable features shall be properly screened. Yeah, cuz I I really this is one of those kind of repetitive ones. Um And please anyone just jump in if I'm if you want to talk more about one of these. Number 10, when applicable site plan shall show measures to reduce and abate noise generated from the site that will impact surrounding properties.
She's just getting in the way and and that's part of being a goalie is is taking a couple lumps. And man, she took some major lumps in the game. I saw her before the game the last home game. She had bruises all over her body and her legs. She had caught one between her kneecaps. That one hurt. And man, that's just brutal. Um as a goaltender in the boys game, I know that it it's not fun. Once the adrenaline wears off, man, it's it's pretty painful. So but uh you know, we'll glad she's back on defense and see if she can help help keep the score down for the awesome team. Yeah, I was I was always impressed with her positioning. That was the first thing. She um she was where she needed to be and that that's half the battle. So we have a sponsor tonight, Kevin.
Do we have any questions? Cass, you want to show page two, please? Are we going to Okay. I don't If you have questions about this, questions on 23, 24, and 25. I still have questions on the daycare center. Mhm. I know that we are it's part of our employee benefits and I know that and I know it's important to us. Um what's planned on what do we plan on doing so that we don't Good question. That much in the red. Sure. Um we um um Mrs. Lind Decker and I have already talked. We will be increasing the rates um uh for uh particularly for non Bullhead City School District employees um to you know to um better cover some of that. Um we are looking at we're trying not to but trying if we can possibly swing it not to increase the rates for our employees but if we need to do so we will do so um and bring that uh bring those recommendations to you uh next month relative to those changes uh so that we can uh maintain that you know maintain and and bring back those um cover you know that coverage.
>> Any questions or discussion? >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. J6. Mr. Bogart. >> Thank you. President Micronis, governing board members, superintendent, and the whole wide world. Um as in every year and based on negotiations uh we bring uh a a plan together to compensate for performance-based pay plan as well as the Indian gayman stipens at the at the Mar at the May governing board meeting this year. Um for the performance-based pay plan, the total amount that can be awarded will be 4,250. This is a decrease of about $267. It's important to note, however, that at the beginning of the year, we did add $4301 to the base of teacher compensation, which means that there's a realized net gain of $262 for teachers. Indian Gaming from fund 02, it'll be at $250, the same it was in the fall semester.
Um same with teachers, like even with spending with them the whole entire week, it was a little chaotic, some conflicts, but at the At the end of the day, we were all able to like resol and it was just something that I really like especially for the first time going somewhere new like a foreign country and also seeing the beautiful cultures, the architects. It was it was amazing. I just I don't know. It's just filled with more excitement. Um I don't know. I just especially with the tour guys, they were so kind. Like they felt like if there were one of us actually just a whole community and it was just something that like I would want to experience again that I would go back. Thank you. >> Well, thank you uh to all of the students and Mr. Strickland for that. fantastic report. Super exciting.
Any discussion? I will start out by just saying that I hate to lose all three of them, but having worked closely with Mrs. Hayes and Ellen Moss, I'm thank you for all your hard work. I really hate to see you leave. I know your partner in crime in there next is probably sad to see you leave, too. But thank you for all you've done and thank you for all your hard work. And Ellen, I know she's not here, but she's a really did a great job for us this year. So, thank you for everything. Absolutely. Anybody else? I just would agree with Greg and I just wish you luck in the future. I I know that, you know, everyone's done such a wonderful job for us and we appreciate you. All right. Mr. Paleska. I. Mr. Music. >> I. Mr. Tenario. I. And I vote I.
The train is causing noise and is not being abated. Um finding the planning board finds that the proposed program shall not be detrimental to surrounding properties in terms of noise noise generation. Sound of kids, who doesn't like that? Um number 11, the site plan shall comply with all zoning requirements for parking, loading, signage dimensions and environmental performance standards and all other provisions of this bylaw. Now here um I think there are some things that we need to wave. Um I think there were a few things from GCG. Um One of um was wasn't there something about loading in in this one? What That was for the YMCA, right? Was it? >> don't There's no loading for this. Oh, oh, oh. >> Is there? Number 15 GCG, the proposed use shall not require loading area board approval required. So, That was GCG uh April 3rd. So, yeah, I have it I have it starred just um So, um I think we put in the YMCA something like uh the planning board finds that loading area is not required.
I can't say I know that. Okay, we'll find out. We'll let you know who it is. Um >> half, we're going to really we're going to push it. >> Yeah. Um so tonight we got some exciting stuff. It's senior night, obviously, as you may have heard in the beginning of the broadcast. We have Ashley Forrester and Lily Vitti graduating. Two senior captains, which will be definitely missed next year. A couple highlights, obviously, too is that we had Lily Vitti get her 200th point two games in the last game, I believe, right? At the Norwell game last night. And Payton Tritschler's getting her 100th point here in the first play of the game. So some major milestones happening and uh exciting times. It always makes it for an exciting night when the crowd gets to cheer and hold up the signs and hit the cymbals for a a milestone.
How many non bullhead employees do we have? Oh, children from non-emp employees. I hate to say because I I'm not really on top of that right now. Um I'm going to guess between five and 10. Okay. And uh and even when we increase, we will still uh we will still be less than uh you know than some of the other uh child care. Yeah. In the in the community and of course it always depends on it always depends on what children are in the right age ranges. Um I frequently see say when I see parents at uh school events and they have preschoolers with them and and I always say to them, "Oh, job security for us." Um and um so I will tell you that uh our employees are giving us some uh child care security for next year. So we have we have kind of a baby boom going on in our employees for right now.
With that, I'll stand for any questions you may have. >> Can I get a motion, please? I move that the governing board approve the payment of incentive stipens related to performance-based pay and Indian gaming compensation plans to to all eligible employees. >> Can I get a second? >> Second.
I just want to say how impressed I was with all of our speakers, uh, our student speakers, and makes you all make me proud to be an Athenian even more so than I was before. And I just know that I'm looking at a lot of our future leaders right here in this room. Um, really impressive. Great, great job everybody. So, thank you. All right. So, uh, moving on, we will start with, oh, I will announce that the, uh, the students, you are more than welcome to hang out and and visit a schoolboard meeting, but you do not have to if you, uh, have other things to do. I know it's finals time and AP time, so you're welcome to uh, excuse yourselves. >> All right. So, we'll start with uh consent agenda. First thing on our business meeting portion of the agenda, uh entertain a motion to approve the consent agenda.
The next item on the personnel, I recommend to the board that they approve the termination of Lisa Mishky, food service director, effective as of April 10th, 2026. Hearing the recommendation. I'll make a motion to approve. Second.
We We have that in the YMCA. We could We could be able to grab it that text. This is the text from the YMCA. But, was there more? I will double-check it, but I I really pulled them from one from the other. I know we I know we had it as a condition or something because they talked about that loading area in front of the the kind of that over by the kids area, right? And we had put a a waiver in for that. It might have been under special permit that we put the waiver in, so maybe you didn't see it. >> Oh. I don't remember where [clears throat] we put it. So, other thing I have, let's see. From this resolved resolved um And then there's about the sign. Um This is from GCG. The applicant has requested the planning board include a condition in its decision that prior to applying for a sign installation permit the applicant seek a determination from the building commissioner as to whether the sign location shown on the plan is located in the front or side yard setback.
And it's youth night. Got our our youth players here cheering on that, which is always makes it a little more exciting. Get more people in the at the barn, even though it's not a barn, but get more people in the stands and and cheering. It it just gets the players hyped up a little bit better. So 4-3 at the start of the second quarter. Assabet is up four to three on Holliston Panthers. See what happens here. Laney Early has checked into the game for Ashland. She's been a a good ad this year. She's a you know, she's an aggressive player. She She She notices open space and goes to go when she's supposed to. So, she's been a good ad. Great for a freshman. Ashland force to go right through right to the middle. Nice stop by the keeper again. Ashland trying to corral the rebound.
So we're hopeful that that will uh help us out some. Okay. And then the second page breaks things down uh uh other things down for you. Um I always find it interesting that these two pages of summary summary report combines data in a way that's uh just not directly related to the actual uh budget document. Um, and so I always look at it and then think, okay, what uh what's going on here? The one of concern here to me is you can see the huge drop in uh federal projects. We kind of thought that was going to happen. We did. We did. Yes, we did know. Yeah.
>> Any discussion or questions? All those in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. J7. Mr. Bogart. >> Thank you, President Micronis, governing board members, Dr. Strereer, and guests. This uh agenda item is addressing the Morirana High School teenage parent program or TAP and preschool tuition rates at Morirana High. These tuition rates have not been increased in at least a decade from our records um and our lower than market rate. We're also in a budget deficit position and a tuition raise at this point would seem reasonable for us to balance the budget moving into 2027. >> Can I get a motion? I move the governing board approve the tuition rates for Morirana High School's teenage parent program TAP pre uh tuition rates beginning in the fiscal year 2026 2027. >> Can I get a second? >> Second.
>> Move to approve. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Thank you. All right. Seeing no old business, we'll move on to new business. Uh first up item of business is to consider the CHS drum line trip. Mr. Chubby is good. All right. Hey, thank you all for having me tonight. Um, Lot of Steve virtually. There you go. Um, I know we've talked about this a little already. I'm going to go ahead and present it to get approval. Um, long story short, I have a student in the high school by the name of Tyler Karns. Uh, Tyler's dad currently lives in Clawwalk, Alaska, which is on Prince of Wales Island. And in a Fourth of July planning meeting for the 250th celebration, uh it was brought up that this island doesn't have any marching bands that can really perform in the parade.
Any discussion? Hearing none, Mr. Paleska. I. Mr. Music. I. Mr. Tenario. I. And I vote I. Item number three, I would call upon Ms. Pippa to make that recommendation to the board. Thank you, Dr. Kriplever. The next item of personnel, I like to recommend to the board to approve the hire Mr. Eric Kurtz for the position of Assistant Superintendent of Operations effective May 18th, 2026. Hearing the recommendation. I'll make a motion to approve. I'll second the motion to approve.
Um I do have the decision from the Y, but it does it is speaking specifically about the waiver for the loading dock. It's a building. I mean, they don't It's This is a field. There's no Well, there's I think a loading Yeah, I mean, I don't think the um >> It It just says the board it's going to pull up the board waves the requirement for a loading dock as it is unneeded by this use and approves the use of shared areas for loading. So, do you want to just say waves the requirement for a loading dock as it is unneeded by this for this use? Yeah. Yeah, I would I would copy the whole thing cuz it also says the 5.2.4. You can grab that signage one while you're there, too, cuz we'll need those, too. But this This says this approves the use of the shared Oh, yeah, we'll cut that out.
