Thank Thank you, everybody. Uh thank you, sir. Um teachers, thanks for all your hard work uh during the class day, after the school hours. Uh you guys are never compensated or appreciated more than than or enough to for what you guys actually do. I wish we can give you the world. I really do. Um all the clubs and the kiddos, uh good job to them again if you're watching online or if you weren't able to make it. Uh Eric, welcome back. As I told you, same order. IT, thank you. You guys always I like these new mics. They're they work really well, so we're good with that. Kim. Hate to see you go. It's uh you've done well here. I I'm super proud to call you a friend at the end of your mission here and we're always here. Come visit us. Pop into a meeting.
Maybe the original one? Maybe they took it off because it we need they need to seek a sign's permit. All right. Why don't Why don't we go on and ask them about that when there's somebody to ask? So. And that can be a We can get everything done except that question. See that little Do Do we go back to the to page you just scrolled through? You see there's that little Yeah. Oh, yeah, it It look like a foundation or something for a sign. But this is the old plan. It wasn't on the new one that I just No, but I I thought that's what they were mentioning. >> what it was, too. But I don't want to put something in there that's not in our drawings. So, if that's what they were intending and so they took it out. Well, instead of making them come back, is there a way or wait for us, is there a way we can write it that conditional that if they propose a sign, they must Yeah, we can we I guess we can just put it as GCG has it.
There there wasn't a whole lot of space. Uh Fortunately for Ashlyn, the misconnection there. Kendall Westerlin comes up with it over to Alana Duffy quickly out to Julia Frias. And they are up into the middle of the field. Love to see this good fast transition. A lot of passing. Loses ball faster. If Lily was ready, she could cut through the middle. And the midfielders for Holliston are out of the play cuz they were down behind the net. Exactly. Something's getting called. Oh, on Ashlyn. Not sure how that came about. Yeah, that was a connection into the middle. There wasn't really much place for Lily to shoot it. And after that, the defenders are able to collapse and and circle her. Couple of turnovers in a row for Holliston. Just bailing out Ashlyn a little bit. Payton comes up with the ball over to Lily. Lily's looking to Ashlyn.
Um so our EL teachers are doing an amazing job with with our EL students. So uh that's that's a big celebration for us. Um secondly, uh our hiring process. We're in really good shape on hiring. Yeah, Jen. Jen's knocking on wood. Um uh many many many of our positions are filled and uh and there are very few positions for which we have no applicants and that uh has not happened for several years. So, that's that's a really nice thing. Uh, to be able to pick up a music teacher, to be able to pick up an art teacher, to be to be able to pick up some of those tough uh fill some of those tough positions this time of year has been really nice. Um, and that's uh that's a good thing. And then, uh, a really good news today. Uh uh it it won't be official until Monday, but we did learn an hour about an hour and a half ago that uh the all of our proposals for the the competitive state safety grant um uh all of our proposals are being recommended for approval by the state board of ed.
>> Can I get a second? >> Second. >> Any discussion? All those in favor? I >> I >> motion carries J11 Miss Linselada. >> Good evening, President Micronis, governing board members. Tonight I bring before you policy GCL, a minor revision as Dr. administrator mentioned as a result of negotiations with Morirana Education Association adding that teachers will receive a minimum of 45 minutes to travel distances of 10 miles or more. Uh in revising this policy I also made two updates that just needed clarification. Our building leadership team is now referred to as the leadership team and the number of pre-ervice days for induction has increased from six days to seven days.
So, I wanted to take the opportunity to mention that while I was standing here, but I would appreciate your consideration on the Alaska trip. And if you have any questions, obviously, I'm happy to answer them. >> I do make the recommendation that the board approved the trip. >> Do we have any second?
I'd love to seeing you guys all sit together through every meeting. You guys showed up at every building. It didn't matter what and Diana's over there as well, so thank you for coming. Um just cuz you're leaving doesn't mean you can't keep that bill here for the new principal. >> [laughter] >> Let's make that happen. Going for a three-peat. She's getting evil eye over there. Um Eric, welcome back to the team. Stepped away for a few years. Um come back more knowledgeable. Let's let's move forward to success. That's all I got. Ms. People, do you have anything today? Yes. Uh I'd like to say congratulations to all the students. Thank you to all the staff for the wonderful opportunities that you give to our students. It's such a joy to see all the things that they can participate in and I know that's a lot of time and effort on your part.
That wouldn't hurt anything, would Yeah. Um so, GCG has um It And it does say the applicant has requested that the planning board include a condition in its decision that So, here it would be prior to applying for a sign installation permit, the the applicant seek a determination from the building commissioner as to whether the sign location shown on the plan is located in the front or But if they're showing one in the plan, I guess you know If it's not on if it's not on our drawings anymore, there's nothing for us to That's what they have to do anyway. Right. So, does this Do you want this to read? I just have it kind of the same way that we had it as the Y under findings. I have loading and then the signage. Prior to applying for a sign installation Yeah, I think that's fine.
Hopefully she sees Laney. She's going to go slow it down. >> Yeah, that looked like it was about a three on seven there, so. The rain has picked back up here at the plateau. Making it a little bit more difficult for these girls to see the ball and catch the ball. Wet sticks are not fun. Yeah, I'm not sure if that's why there's been a couple of dropped balls recently. Nice pass by Payton to Ashley. Ooh, nice tomahawk check there. No contact made though. Ashley holding on to the ball. With Ali Marseglia. Nice cut by Aaron Hickey. Come on, Aaron. Put Barry that ball. Ooh, touched by the defender. Yeah, that was in her stick a long time. Gave the defender there a little bit of a time to relax or to get her stick on it, I should say. Just a um split second earlier and she might have been able to get it clean.
So that means four counselors, a school resource officer, and a new position in our district, which is a social worker for Coyote Canyon. So, we're nice. We are We are ecstatic about that. Yeah, that's nice. That's great. Uh yeah, because you know, as I said, it's a competitive grant and we knew there were lots of districts out there. Jen worked really hard to get uh get our application in early. um and uh and did that with a help from the principles and everybody else involved at the time when they wanted a whole bunch of extra information that they had not told us they wanted until they put out you know let us start working on the grant. So, our folks all scrambled around, got all that extra information, it got submitted with our proposal, and the day either the day of or the day after it was submitted, Jen got an email from uh the grant management office saying, "Oh, we realized that that's too much to ask for, so you don't have to do all of that." Well, that was nice of them after you got it all done.
I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. >> Can I get a motion? >> I move that the governing board approve the revision to policy GCL, professional staff schedules and calendars as presented. >> Can I get a second? >> Second.
>> Any discussion? >> All those in favor? I I >> Any opposed? >> Thank you. Very exciting. I will Thank you all so much. >> I will say that when we first got the information about this and and I immediately after I read it um sent a text to Dr. Riker and was like, "This is an amazing. I can't believe this fell into our labs." >> I couldn't believe it. It was right before spring break and Renee actually texted me and was like, "Tyler's in the cafe in the library. You need to go talk to them right now." And I was like, "All right." I thought it was too good to be true, but it looks like we're going to do it. So I appreciate all of you. Thank you so much. >> Very exciting. >> But also like to point out that John has shown >> John has shown amazing growth.
So, thank you so much. It's it's um the reason why we're here every day is for those children and it's it does my heart good to see everything that they have available to them. So, thank you very much. Um and Ms. Hayes, we wish you luck and Mr. Kurtz, welcome back. Thank you. Dr. Cribler. Thank you, Mr. Ryan. I have just a few. First of all, I would like to recognize Edison student who is not here this evening, but she went on, Shay Coffee is her name, and she went on to become the winner of the Young Authors Contest for overall high school student division. So, we have a Young Authors winner in our school district. So, very proud of Shay. She did a great job. I guess I really don't have to remind the parents because our children certainly are looking forward to the 59th annual North American Games tomorrow.
Prior You know, so that we have something in there. Um This is just a find This is under findings still, so I have to make it a condition. >> Okay. Yeah. Okay. All right, let me just see if there's anything else in here. Resolved Resolved um Shisha, thank you. There is a dumpster here. Oh, there is? On the new one? It's a sitting in kind of halfway through the left-hand side on the parking side. There is a dumpster with a chain link fence. Which sheet are you on, Deeper? Um Can you look at the drawings behind you, Deeper, and help us out. It is sheet number one. Number one. I'm on 201. 101? There's a 101? Which one? Uh existing conditions go right It's the first drawing on the whole Very first drawing is the cover page, but uh Go to the No, no, no, no, no.
Nice defense by Ryan there, getting the stick up. Breaking up the play. Out of bounds on white. 5:30 left now in the second quarter. Kendall on the ride. Locks it down. Ashley's going to come up with it. Ashley looking for Aaron. Got three Two on three at this point. >> Two on four. >> A trailer behind is Ashley. She gets it out. >> Oh, nice look by Aaron. Nice connection. Lily Vitti with another nice goal. Yeah, that that was a play by Aaron Hickey. Uh Lily didn't finish it just like she should, but really the the kudos go to Aaron Hickey on finding her right there in the middle, point-blank range. As good as the keeper is, that that one's going to go in most of the time. Even better is I think they were still on a three on five when they scored that goal, so um Yeah, well >> Good work by Aaron.
After it was all done. Um, so Jen Jen shot off an email to them, a very professional sounding email saying, "For those of us who did it, can we get some priority, please?" Yes. Do we get extra points for it? Do we get extra points? Give us extra credit. And so, we kind of think maybe we did. Uh, it doesn't matter. We're just really excited to know. It won't be official until after the board uh state board of ed meeting on Monday, but that that is that's significant uh because it's well over 200,000. Yeah, Jen, we need to recognizing me. Yeah, when uh when Jen was hit with that, uh it happened that Amanda was in a place in, you know, in her work that she could uh take it on. She, you know, she said, "How can I help?" And she took it on.
>> Any discussion? >> I just have one question. Does this include travel to and from work or is this from school to something? >> This is for our itinerate teachers who cover more than one school typically band, um, music, PE, etc. So it's just from school to school. >> Understood. Thanks. >> Any other questions or comments? All those in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. >> Thank you. >> J12. Mr. Bane. >> Thank you. Excuse me, President Mike Cronis, Vice President Raymond, members of the board, Dr. Shuer, senior staff. Uh tonight I'm requesting approval of a field education contractual agreement with Grand Canyon University. Uh the Moran Unified School District has received uh a request for placement of a social worker interning during the upcoming 2026 2027 fall semester including supervised fieldwork experience throughout the district and with all schools. Uh Grand Canyon University's social worker program is accredited by the higher learning commission.
He's a big idea guy and he gets a lot of things done. Occasionally as an administrator, he doesn't really follow the steps, but he followed every step. Early communication, responded well to questions. I'm just so proud of this young man. So yeah, now I think Jay still keeps working him, but it's good. So we're it's all good. >> It's outstanding. >> Everything is an opportunity to grow. So >> thank you so much. >> A true Athenian. Thank you. >> All right. Okay. Next order of business, we have the um CHS student handbook. U Mrs. Alrech was reviewing that. Do you have uh comments on that? >> I do after some last minute small changes. appreciate the efforts of uh Jay and Chris and Brent and Rex to make a couple of changes I thought needed to happen. Um I definitely I recommend approval of the new handbook.
So, that'll be exciting, and it's always a fun thing to attend even if you're just watching. Those kids just light up their faces, they have big smiles. They work really hard and really want to compete. They're good competitors and really want to win their relay races. So, I'm looking forward to tomorrow evening. Monday, May the 25th, is Memorial Day, so we will not have school that day. We will resume school on Tuesday, May 26th. The last day of school for students is on Wednesday, June 3rd. Last day for our teachers and staff will be on Thursday, June 4th. And finally, graduation for our graduating seniors is on Sunday, June 7th, and that program starts at 2:00 and will be held, weather permitting, on the football field as we have done in the past. So, we look forward to that special day for our graduating seniors.
The the other sheet. This is existing conditions. That's existing. No, this is existing conditions. But are they taking >> disappearing They're taking it off? So, let's go to the later drawings and see if it's still there. >> we 101 also shows Yeah, but that's existing. >> existing conditions again. And it's not here. Uh it's kind of there faintly, but I think they're just showing It is showing on the drawing on C201 as well, by You see it there, that faint line? Mhm. Like but it's hard to say whether it's uh if they're just showing the >> existing curve pavement in landscaping. So, [clears throat] they're going to screen it with this landscaping. And it's not technically a part of this site and they're not proposing >> Can you Can you move forward to some of the other drawings that are more detailed? Like Okay, so what's that?
