That's good. Yeah, I guess it's like normal. You can Just one. Or one, yeah. One five. Always one. The other one should be better. You know, what I'm saying? Right now, I'm playing except I can see I see. >> Give me that pizza right now. >> Brought to you in part by Townhouse. Pizza, subs, roast beef and more. Be sure to fill up with the buffalo chicken calzone that's been called one of the best in the area. >> [music] [music] >> Welcome back to Ashland High School. Taking the field now for the second half. Ashland again with a 7-5 lead. Five goals [music] for Lily Vitti on the day. She's pacing the offense. Alana Duffy pacing the defense with her three, four saves. I think I've lost track of those, but she's um playing a heck of a game. Same for the uh Holliston goalie keeping them in the game for sure.
Oh. And that was it was really cool. Um the questions they asked or the statements they made and it was just kind of neat. Um and I started off with who knows who knows what the school board is cuz remember they we had a video when we went to that training and the kids were so comical they had no clue. So I figured I'd at least tell them hey you know if you see me walking around say hello because I'm here to try to help you. And so that was kind of a a a neat thing that I was able to do. So it was a lot of fun yesterday. The only other thing I did is I went to uh Desert Valley to the first was it first or second? I think it was first grade present or program and it was so packed that I was stuck in the way back going like this, you know, but the kids were having good time, the parents were having a good time.
I >> I >> Any any opposed? Thank you. And then C's. >> All right, Lena, anything you want to say? So, welcome. Um, I'll let you introduce yourself. That'll be good for you. Thank you so much for coming. I think a that's just a class act. Um, you see a lot of our we don't see it as much, right? I think when some of us came in, you would never have not come. So, but if you want to give any sort of statement to Oh, Jay, would you like to say anything? >> You drove. You came here for this just to sit quietly. Yes. So, we are excited for her to join the CHS team. Um, she has been down and has done some work and everybody has been very impressed and um so she's been in, you know, this will be her first time in the high school world.
>> Yeah. Or you could say a hybrid system a hybrid infill that reduces SBR and maybe not give the percentage. I think we could say >> least by 30%. >> By at least 30%. You know, so there's something that they're not choosing though. You know. Yeah. The one that has a 10% replacement you know, or whatever. So, at least with it's at least with it's within the range of what they Okay, so it says the artificial turf shall be free of PFAS and the infill shall be a hybrid system that reduces the SBR rubber by a minimum of 30%. Yeah. And they can comment on that cuz it'll go to them first, right? Or into Do we have to say it reduces the SBR rubber? Or just say SBR. >> Compared to something? Like this is saying it's reducing it, but I'm assuming it's reducing it against whatever the old one was, but like Yeah, but what is the industry standard?
No doubt. Emily Langlands uh make a bunch of saves. Point-blank ones too, and also um Uh she's most of the defense in Holliston is also stepping up, playing well. So >> Sure. Ashton and White going from right to left. Peyton on the circle with Lilly Vidoni on the circle. Ashton with the draw. Almost a self-draw there. Empty check probably on Oh, hello. Is Ashton to Ashlyn? Fortunately, we're running into the offensive zone. Ashlyn being patient. Over to Erin Hickey. Whoa, skies it up to >> It's a couple of times that has happened. Sam Saiak gets pushed over offsides by the Holliston player. Just about to say that Ashlyn is going to have to watch their turnovers that were started to creep into the game in the end of the second half. Caroline Vargas has some wheels that one. Pushed as she shot by maybe Peyton.
Um, I sort of walked out feeling really happy. It was I needed that at the time. I needed that positive experience. It was really, really kind of neat. So, we just need to get out there and and be with the kids and the parents and other staff members. Okay. Did enjoy a nice lunchon with the faculty and stuff for the teacher appreciation. Oh, that was that was good, too. That was very good. That was good food. That teriyak chicken was really, really, really good. Charwell did a very good job on that lunchon. Yeah. Well, everybody who put it together did really well. I was very impressed with the games they came up with and all of the prizes that they could win. And I love the fact that I walked in there and I was like, there was not a seat to be had really.
So, but she her references were phenomenal. Um, and I'm really excited to see the work that she does. So, I recommend the board approve. >> Lena Bible. >> Steve, he finally got figured it out. He had to go early. That's good, Steve. >> I. >> All those in favor? I >> I.
>> not giving them a Yeah. Yeah, the infill spec on the other hand says it's 30 to 40% SBR crumb rubber. So, this is On the first page it says 30 to 50% rubber reduction. The second page on the spec section it says it has 30 to 40%. Um so, I don't know if without knowing the specifications if you should get into that level of So, do you want to just leave it at hybrid? Yeah. I wonder if we should just define the hybrid and leave it at that. Well, no. I mean I think we could I think we could put a maximum of 40% crumb rubber. >> [snorts] >> So an infill shall be a hybrid system with a maximum of 40% crumb rubber. Yeah, at a maximum 40% of It says SBR crumb rubber on here. Um and then >> I feel like we're just getting into no idea about what any of these things really mean and we're just kind of taking it off of the one tech sheet.
Looks like she's going to get a shot here. Or outside, maybe? Talked about this last last period quarter Kev trying to foul somebody before they get into the eight >> Mhm. on a fast break, but 13 with a shot. Oh, off of Lana's leg and in. Nice try, Lana. Tracking that ball well. She just didn't get the stick down for that one. Nice shot. We got 7-6, Kev. It's a close one. Yep. Minute 11 in. Ashlyn came up with draw control, lost it, and free shot to goal. That's always a tough one for the goalie to get. That's going to go in more often than not, so She was fast. She got there quick, and defense trailing behind her. Unfortunate foul inside the critical scoring area inside the eight and free shot to goal. So it's like that. Looks like we're going to seven to six here 10 and a half minutes left.
Yeah. And I was impressed with the fact that the employees actually all seemed to want to be there. and participate. They did. They wanted to participate in those games. They They just really did. It was really kind of neat. And I did not stay for the awards. Can you kind of tell us what happened with the awards? Um well, we we recognized folks for 5 10 5 10 20 25 and 30 years in the district. and then recognized uh three people who are retiring uh from the district this year. And um so you know that's always that's always fun um to recognize people who have been around and and um not just seen the changes but have been part of the change um but have been dedicated to the district and that's uh that's really good. Thank you. Sure. I should have stayed around for that.
>> Any opposed? Thank you. Congratulations and welcome. >> All right. Um, change of position again. No action needed. Chris Sims is moving from the assistant principal role over to the new and exciting work-based learning coordinator position. Um, so this is out, you know, workbased learning is becoming a huge thing. Um, we decided that we needed a full-time person because, you know, we are talking that all of our kids in the new SEAL world need 75 all the way up to 650 hours of work-based learning experience if they want to get the top seal. Um, and that requires that we have somebody that can be in the community and connect with workforce to provide opportunities for our students. And so Chris has already started making those connections. So appreciate him trying to juggle the world of an assistant principal and make connections for our work-based learning program for next year.
>> We We are a little bit, but you know, this I mean this decision in between now and our next meeting cuz we still have a few We still have a few things we have to ask, right? Goes back to the It can go back to the applicant as well for them to read through and for their attorney to read through and if that's something that they say, "Hey, This is too restrictive based >> Yeah, there's no way we can do this or like, "Oh, yeah, they all do that. That's no problem." So we let them kind of Yeah, I just want to I just don't want this to be like the you know, by the time they actually go to build it and then like Yeah, and I just don't and I just don't want them to be like have the most minimal hybrid that they can after all of our discussion about going more in the right direction.
Ashland up by one against the draw by Ashley Forrester again. It's going to be push. Hopefully Lily's ready for it. If she wins it, let's see. It's a win by Ashley. Nice and high. Lily comes up with it. Over shot the Holliston Panthers. So Lily was able to grab it. So Two draw controls for Ashland here and there's another brother house that's not ideal. It's wet wet wet wet out there. Messes up the you throwing technique. Maggie behind the net with the ball. Maggie McGinnis looking for another Lily Vitti cut. Oh, big stop by the goal tender Amelia Langin. Again, keeping them in this game Allison. That was a point blank look. That was a really good save. Really good save. Celia Callahan on the on the ride back to the goal tender. Coming down the middle. Holliston, I think they are still on sides, yeah.
I just didn't. Okay. Item 4.1, 8th grade promotion. It says here that 8th grade promotion ceremony is going to be at Anderson Fieldhouse on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. And it's 9:30. 9:30. Yeah. The doors open at 8:30 and the promotion starts at 9:30. Okay. Oh, you got it. We have some time changes. It may not have been accurate from the website. Okay. Fox Creek maybe. I learned today that Fox Creek's website has not been kept up until recently. So anyway, 9:30 uh to start, but 8:30. People get there at 8:30 because parking gets really hard. It does get hard. It does get hard. Um sometimes sometimes it's easier to park in the back. Yeah. and walk in that back door. There is no walking in the back. Oh, you us no. Yeah, Kate's been Kate's I flashed my name badge. There you go.
Um Amy Cox, who is the administrative assistant at Hoover, um is will be our new deputy treasurer uh here at the administration office. Mr. Nicodemus did a great job leading that um search and put together. We had several applicants um and great interviews and Amy we had in multiple times and had the finalists even do a project reviewing three years of our electric bills um for to recognize any thing that stands out and to pro also to provide a um prediction of where we were going and suggestions. So she did a great job with that. So looking forward to her working with our business team. Mr. Nicodemus, anything you want to add? >> I had in my report, but yeah, so we're excited to bring Amy on um as the deputy treasurer. She's going to be focusing mainly right now on cash flows and monthly board reports, working with Baker Tilly, our consultant, on that and learning the ins and outs there.
So I think we put this in and then we let them tell us if if if this is too restrictive based on what we've been talking about. >> Is it possible when we send them this to ask them to make sure they pay attention to this one line? Yeah, you can give them a note to say pay attention to the to the conditions, which I think they should the special conditions versus the hey, these are the hours you can work and you know, that kind of thing. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. The ones there. >> actually is used to improve elasticity and performance and durability in harsh weather. Mhm. So, not knowing the right level maybe a may not be a good thing to guess. Cuz if it's not going to perform as required, then it just beats the purpose of that SBR, I guess. That's what it sounds like.
Number nine freshman Isabel Bray trying to find some space. Sammy just taking some wax. Finally gets one and she trips her. I don't think that's the right call Cam, but you can't complain. You cannot cannot fight with the refs. So When you take those big swings there's there's a lot for the the ref to see. Yeah, it's got to be a quick downward chop and away or you're going to get called versus coming straight across the face like that. Nice pick up by Payton. Payton back to Holliston. But Payton was there to clean it up. Quick outlet to Celia. Celia's got to not wait for that ball. She's got to go and get that ball. Not wait for it to come to her. Erin Hickey on the drive. We got three on four here. >> Yeah, the Hallison defense is kind of really hanging back.
That's the one time we remember to wear our name badges. Yes. Kate's been working with uh Mrs. vote and uh oh and Miss Sharp to uh to pre you know to get the get the promotion ready and um so it's it's really nice when I will say it's nice for me when I know I have folks who are just going to take care of the business and I don't have to worry about it. So um but u we we got kind of an update from them the other day so we know that it's all ready to go. Okay. Okay, it's not in here, but I know I'm supposed to do something with the consent agenda as in um Is there any Do I have a motion to accept the consent agenda? Um Jen or Cassie, will you pull up administrative reports, please? Uh let me see if I can I was looking for Amanda's.
Um, we have a pretty robust training program for her to go through in her first couple weeks to get up to speed with where everyone else is. And I think she's up to the job. So, >> there we go. That's the end of staff reports. >> Thank you very much. Uh, and Mr. Nicodemus, you are up with the business manager report next up. >> Thank you. So um the next item I had was a group of us from central office attended the annual IASBO state conference last week. Uh it was a jam-packed three days of learning, networking, and fun in the evenings for the entire team. Um we will take what we learned there and try to put it into play. There's a lot of new things around the bend. So we're looking forward to new adventures and ways of creating efficiencies for the entire corporation.
Yeah, I'm I'm okay I'm okay with that changing if they if they have a case for it, but like that the hybrid system is the middle system. It's not the best system, you know. So, we just don't want it to go away to the Madam Chair, Luke came back in. His hand is raised again. Oh, great. >> to give him the opportunity? I'll ask him to unmute. Yeah, if he is there, um we can meet this mystery person. Luke, if you're available to speak, you may, please. Please identify yourself, name, and address for the record as well. I don't know that they can. They don't even have a speaker on there. They have a speaker icon on there. On Zoom, everybody has a speaker and a camera icon, and they only have a camera icon. Oh, so it's not looking like >> think they can speak at all.
