Clock runs after two, is that what's happening? Yeah. Lily Vitti with the shot, bottom right bottom left corner on the gold tender. Nice goal by Lily Vitti. She's having a night tonight. She is. She's going to make me run out of ink in my pen here. Six goals and two assists? Six goals, uh Well, one of those assists was me in the wrong box. Ah, okay. So I think it's one. Six and one. We need a We need an assistant, Kevin. This is too much for us to handle all at once. All right, so Ashland up four here. 40 seconds left in the bottom of the third period third quarter, whatever you want to call it. Yeah, so they have extended the lead. Uh Holliston got the first goal of the quarter. Ashland's come back since then with the next three. So And we are in that dreaded 40-second range.
Um, so we're asking you to give preapproval to uh this program um uh unless there are uh objections uh from the public relative to the display the 60-day supply uh display is did they get did they pile it? We didn't we have used touch math in the past and we know it's an effective program. It is researchbased um and as a supplemental program u this is a way for us to address a number of the deficiencies that we are seeing from our math screener now that we have one in place and um uh and we've used it as I say for years in the past we just have not used it in the most recent years. Uh it's a very effective program. Um, how much is it going to cost us? It's grant funded. Uh, it's it is grant funded and Jen will have to give you that answer.
And it was good to watch the kids walk around and see how beautiful of a state house we have. So, um, yeah, doc almost five of us out of this office were able to go to the Asbo annual conference. Um, Andrew presented multiple sessions. Um, so appreciate how he's becoming a leader in that organization. Um, yeah, and you know, had somebody reach out today ask if I could send the presentation that Andrew and Brock from Baker Tilly presented. Um, so that was great. And our strategic leadership team continues to meet along with our admin cabinet. We'll say that our strategic leadership team, one of the first things meetings we had this year was on rapid response and had an a retired officer from the Marine Corps in and we'll say that the Marine Corps rapid response is anything under six hours. So I think uh again just very proud of our folks today.
Most importantly, um, there are no new lots being created and lot 6A and lot 5A also maintain their legal frontage on Wood Amour Drive as required by zoning requirements and because this plan is not It does not constitute a subdivision under the subdivision control law. Um, I'm requesting the board's endorsement that approval is not required. Can I just ask, um, the drawing is a little confusing. Are we, um, Is the original line the straight line that goes through >> Okay, and then >> the original line is the straight line. Um, so as you can see, it uh, I'll I'll just kind of use left and right without knowing the directions, but, um, it basically shifts to the right-hand side. As you can see, um, along the line of parcel A. Um, exactly. And then it goes back in towards the natural line, follows the the original line, if you will, for a very short period and then, um, yeah, shifts back out towards the right.
Let's hope that we can win this draw so we don't give up on under 30 seconds like uh seems to happen quite a bit. >> Yeah, it would be a disappointment. Ashley with the draw, comes up with it. Nice job, Ashley. Yeah, she's got a bunch of draw controls. I asked her about her for five. Ashley over Payton. Payton coming in the zone, got 25 seconds left here. Over to Lily. Plenty of time to get a good shot off. Let's hold this for a good shot. It'd be great time to call a play. Set something up so you can finish the finish this with a nice shot on net. Yeah, the good thing is with this amount of time left, there's no chance of Holliston getting back up the field. So it's get a shot. Uh they're being a little too patient right now. You got to get it off.
Yeah, this is a grant funded. Okay. I think it's roughly 40,000 and it's a lot for this year because we need manipulatives and then after this year it's just for the platform between title one. Um, do I have a motion to approve using touch or purchasing the the program touch math depending on whether there's public um concerns? Concerns. Madam President, oh, go ahead. Go ahead. Madam President, did I did I say okay? Okay. I think you did. Madame President, I uh would make a motion that we would support and approve this TouchMath program uh pending results of the um public's input. Thank you. And authorize the purchase of the pro or purchase of the program through the grant fund after the May 18th. Okay. Expiry date. Do I have a second? I'll second that motion. All those in favor? I Melinda Sabraski. I Fred Rushton.
Reminders next board meeting is June 11th. Linda's retirement party is May 29th. CHS graduation is May 29th at 700 p.m. Gather in the office area around 6:45 6:30. Yeah. And then AVA graduation is the next morning at 11:00 a.m. again 10:30 10:45 gathering time and we have our board retreat on July 30th. I initially had that down as June 30th. So, um, grateful to be your superintendent and proud to be an Athenian. >> Thank you, Dr. Rager. Uh, any other business? No. Moving on to board member communications. >> I do have something on board member communications. We had at the Carnegie Museum, we hosted eight groups of Nicholson third graders and four groups of hose first graders uh in the last two weeks. So, it was a lot of fun for me uh getting to put both of, you know, my work hat and my schoolboard hat kind of come together in that sense when we do that.
Essentially, so that the square footage remains the same, so it's a simple parcel swap. Okay. And I assume that's because, um, the angle of house 42 with the lot line is going to make it difficult to do things because that >> Exactly. Yes. Uh, most spe- specifically, um we are looking to um install a pool, which this would um create the necessary setbacks. The other thing is that if you and I have images, I'm happy to show you of the yard, but essentially right now the um original parcel line sort of cuts into sort of like the grassy area. I think the the new boundary line essentially aligns better with sort of the the natural slope of the land and where sort of the the actual use of both residences are, if that makes sense. Um So, we've received endorsement from our neighbors at 40 Wood and More Drive.
And unfortunately didn't happen. Well. So, uh it's a it's tough tough balance. You don't want to shoot too soon and give them an opportunity. You don't want to end up with the ball in a non-shooting critical scoring area with 6 seconds left, so Mhm. No harm. No foul. No foul. So, we got 10 to 6 Ashland leading Holliston Panthers going into the fourth quarter. It's closer than I'd like it to be, Kev, so hopefully they can stay strong here and win some draws and slow down that uh the play and eat some of that clock away with this lead and play smart. Yeah, that It was a good quarter defensively. Holliston only got the one. And most of the quarter was spent in the Holliston defensive zone, the Ashland offensive zone. Um from an Ashland perspective, they would certainly like that to happen again. Make it a um no sweat type of game, but if Holliston goes and gets the first couple, then everything changes.
I Charlene Diaz. I Barbber Zarziki. I Sheila Bernett. All right. 11.6. Is it Sabis? Savas. Is Savas experiment experience science program? U. Madame President and board members, uh if you recall uh in a discussion last month when we talked about uh capital outlay and um uh and I was asking for approval of some very big very big expenditures. Uh one was for this science program K through eight and I think it's K through eight. K through eight. Yeah, K through eight. U we've had it we have it on display. The 60 days expire on uh June 2nd. So, I'm sorry, June 1st. Um, and uh and this is this is a biggie. So, uh you know, we'll want to get right on in order um so that we have these things here before uh school starts. Um so once again I'm asking for your approval uh uh to um for this science program itself the program um effective June 2nd provided there are no public objections.
And it's really fun to see the kids and and really appreciate the teachers and all the chaperones that volunteer their time to come and give those uh give all of our students those extracurricular activities getting out, walking around. The third graders walked all around downtown Crawford'sville and and did a number of things. even despite some some iffy weather, we had to use a rain date. And then uh this week, Tuesday and Thursday today, we had first graders and and visiting the museum and the library. So, uh appreciate those teachers doing that and the kids being well behaved and and love that we do that for our kids. >> Yes, we can. >> Okay. Appreciation I als >> I agree. agree that was a really fantastic story. All right, thank you. Uh moving on then to patron comments.
That is um attached in the application that I provided. And it's my understanding that as long as the um the >> [clears throat] >> the plan here meets the requirements, which it does under the um [snorts] the subdivision control law and maintains the necessary frontage that the board um can endorse this. Yes, so the only um So, that's true to your analysis that the lots are good. >> Yes, they meet They both meet the same And required frontage and size requirements. And the right paperwork is Oh, yeah, I see the consent in here. My My only My only question with this is that in submitting it as a document of record, that it's really confusing to know where the original line is, which one's original and which one's cuz they're done in exactly the same line the way the same way you know, to to like to Like if you're going to record this.
Yes, sir. There was a nice turnout tonight with fans, I have to say. Braving the elements in the rain, but we're seeing a lot of alums, parents of alums here uh supporting the team. >> Saw the um blanking on the last name now, I don't know why, but Dan Chapman. I saw Chapman's here the other night. That's nice alumni uh visiting. It's either been Thompson's out there Yep. also big big uh Ashland Clocker fans, bleeding blue. So, good to see them come back to watch a game on senior night and celebrate these girls cuz when you threw it for the whole youth program for the last 15 years, it's nice to come back and see these girls finish it off, so um I'll probably be doing the same in a couple years when Payton graduates, but um I enjoyed the uh senior night festivities when it's only two girls.
Do I have a motion to approve effective June 2nd, 2026 provided no public objections are received during this review period for the SAIS experience science program? Okay. Um I'll I'll move to approve u effective June 2nd provided there's no public objections um are received during the review period for the SAIS experience science program. I second it. Okay. All those in favor I saski. I Fred Rushton. I Charlene Diaz. Hi Barb Zarsiki. I Sheila Bernett. Okay. Continuing in numerical order 11.7 auditing contract pending state approval. U Madame President and board members we uh put this out to bid. This is a five-year contract for audit services and uh Haven Butner uh the auditing firm with with whom we have done business for uh at least the last 10 years um had the low bid and uh was is being recommended to you. So, uh, I'm recommending approval of this contract.
Um it's a little bit it's I mean, I'm not sure what the standard is, but it's drawn a little strangely that I can't that I and I'm used to obviously very used to reading architectural drawings. But um This is a little hard to like how where does it mark down there original line like or new line or Um So it's a little It's just a little strange. Um So We do have I mean we do have which I can submit the original Um parcel. Right? Without this drawing. Um I mean I Yeah. I mean I know Cornerstone is the engineer um you know, it's very they do a lot of work in this area. So Um I would have assumed that they drew this in accordance with what could be recorded. Um but I I could go back. I prefer not to cuz trust me that'll cost lots of money.
That is That was fantastic. Off I mean, next year, what are we going to have? Probably 15 seniors next year if if uh You're going to have to call in a backup voice. I'm just doing a quick math on my hands here. I think we're at least eight or nine 10 seniors next year. Certainly. Which is great. I mean, Kevin and I had the privilege of coaching those girls all the way through their youth program and and it's exciting time for us as parents and coaches to see them get to that point of finishing their career. You know, I'm going to get all emotional and probably that night when it happens and putting the senior video together is going to make me cry just like it did when Paige came through. So, um you know, it is what it is. I'm excited for these girls, excited to see what they can do next year with that >> many seniors.
Do I have a motion to approve the auditing contract? Madame President, I would make a motion that we approve the auditing contract as presented. Oh, pending state I'm sorry, pending state approval. Pending state approval, of course. Is there a second? I'll second that motion. All those in favor? I, Melinda Sabrasi. I, Fred Rushton. I, Charlene Diaz. Hi Barb Zarziki. Hi Sheila Bernett. We're doing a lot of pre-approvals tonight. 11.8 pre-approval of Diamondback concrete replacement contract. Uh Madame President and board members, uh this has been in the works for quite a while. We have uh we have uh sidewalks and various concrete things at uh Diamondback that need replacement. Uh this is being paid for or would be paid for by the school facilities division. Um uh but because it is over $100,000, I need to bring it to you as the board uh to uh u approve uh this contract.
But um This is acceptable. >> I don't know that unless unless you would require it for this to be endorsed. No, I I think she was just more saying it was just kind of the way they wrote it just wasn't super easy to to read. >> Yeah, to understand where the original And then when we document it officially it'll Will it show the old line or will it just show the new line, right? >> this No, it's this plan that gets recorded. This exact line but their legal description also gets updated. Oh yeah, so Where's the What's the legal description? Is We don't receive those. We don't It's not part of the application. But it's usually in your deed where it says your line goes from this degree northeast 7 73° 43 you know, 23 east by 251 ft until it goes south this many degrees.
Hopefully they'll corral and get together and rah-rah and become a team and a bond and everyone's friends and they can really do some damage next year. Nice to see. We can take credit for the the junior class and their numbers. We also coached the current senior class that only has two players. So, I don't know if we have to We drove some players out of the game. Well, we did only get the the seniors every other every other year. So, whoever that other coach was probably was the one that did the damage to to make all these other kids not want to come back. So, I remember who that was. Probably Was it Rosemary? Probably had it from [laughter] Rosemary Forrester, the senior mom tonight. Hopefully she comes back and watches this and says, "Those guys I I hope she's watching it live and she bursts into the booth and knows that it was you that said it.
