And uh I think one reason maybe why why Donna nominated me, last couple of years I've learned a lot about microplastics. And uh tried tried to uh stop a couple different artificial turf fields in the area. Um Kathy Reiss. I live in Needham and I'm um the team lead for our the plastic reduction team in GreenNeedham. I've over the past 3 years have sort of led our team to put in place many plastic single-use plastic bans within the town. So, we banned plastic bags, Styrofoam, black plastic, plastic coffee stirrers, splash guards. And then we also put a skip the stuff in campaign into effect, which I have seen you guys are considering. It's really beneficial for both the environment and for the businesses as a cost-saving measure. So, I think that's that's a great step forward. So, I'm also a part of Beyond Plastics and I'm a volunteer speaker for for Beyond Plastics.

Participants was what we wanted open so that if someone shows up, we'll see. Okay, sorry about that, Roland. >> No, you did What I passed out in front of you is something we've obviously been working on here and I've talked to you members of the School Committee. One of the things we've heard a lot is and from many many of you as School Committee members and the public is reserve accounts that the School Department has had, whether it's a vacancy saving, pre-K or preschool circuit transportation, special education circuit breaker, school choice, etc. That those accounts have additional dollars in them. Sometimes they've been carried over year to year. Also, just as an FYI, you're probably aware of, but just for the sake of people hearing, some school districts actually have rainy day accounts where they actually take some of these monies and put them in some.
Let me just check this. That's all. I would deal with the letter in that one. >> Our board chair works for the Stratford Board of Education and does a lot of adult ed work at night, so yes, so she's um able to join us remotely, but want to try it. Wow, there's I thought we had tough questions, Tim. Cheshire is 400 ft, Prospect is 900 ft. They get a lot more snow up there. Don't drive through Prospect if you're coming from Avon or wherever you're coming from.

Yes, and they qualified so quickly that the turnaround time, you know, in between meetings um it it's already taken place. They got there under um I forget this if this is the exact verbage but under ambassador ambassadorship award for getting out in the community and advocating. It's time to celebrate what you have accomplished together, and as we look forward to opportunities that may come your way in high school. We have been truly joyed watching this class grow and mature throughout the last 4 years. Some of them may even be a little bit in progress still, but we should be very proud of them. The class of 2030 Thank you for your positive attitudes, hard work, leadership, and helping helping make BMS a better place. Each of you have a bright future ahead. I would challenge you to take advantage of the opportunities that may come your way and apply yourself to the best of your ability. We are confident that this class will be an excellent addition to the fall of the high school. Here is some of that evidence to support that. As a class, they have a collective GPA of a 3.55.
And I did. I've had the pleasure of knowing Belen since she was in diapers as I grew up and played softball alongside her older sisters. Belen might not remember this as she was a toddler then, but she was also there for my first breakup as we watched Pitch Perfect and ate brownies. She is an outstanding student herself inside and outside of the classroom. Belen is in the early college program and this past Friday graduated with her associate's degree from Bergen Community College before she earns her high school diploma next month. During her time at Garfield High School, Belen has played softball for all four years, was on the winter track team, a member of the Interact Club, the lead photographer for the school newspaper, and it was a power back representative, a program offered exclusively to high school juniors dedicating their time to learning, helping, and spreading awareness about abuse and relationships.
