The main issue There's There's a lot of issues with this culvert, which is why it's been so hard to get done um cuz it's going to be an expensive culvert. Um the regulatory floodway for that area is wider than the width of the culverts. Um so, right now if there is a flood, the culverts are not capable of actually accommodating the existing floodway. Um it's also not meeting stream crossing standards um and we know from historical um writings that fish did used to pass through that from Wachusett Pond to go upstream, which right now um they are unable to do so. Uh so, to meet the stream crossing standards and to provide for the regulatory floodway, um a bridge would have to go in or at least a three-sided box culvert um that is wide enough for it. That culvert also passes under a private driveway um which may necessity necessitate two bridges or box culverts instead of one.
Um it's a complicated matter probably best suited for a more in-depth online discussion given the late hour um but it's a work in progress and the grants requested to do the full replacement covers getting a no rise certificate. Oh, okay. How long is the culvert? Uh under the actual road itself, about 40 ft. Then there's another 20 ft of grass, and then the length of the driveway uh for a total of about 73 ft estimated online. I think we have an exact number from the field, but I don't have that right now. >> All right. But still, it's well it's an improvement, and if I mean, putting a bridge in obviously is probably the right thing to do. Problem is, if you let more water down, what's your next choke point downstream? You're going to be flooding out, cuz now they're getting the water that would have been held up here.
I believe this summer or next summer, uh the outlet for Washington Pond is being replaced. They will be Is that the outlet? Is that the next point down? Yes. It is being replaced and upsized. Um I believe they're actually closing part of 126 to do it. So, everyone stay tuned to our social media and manager's newsletter on when 126 will be closed again. They will be rerouting traffic. Um but that should be I believe this summer or next summer that they're doing that. Um that would be the next check point down. From there, it enters uh Beaver Dam Brook, uh where it travels quite a distance. All we need is a ratification here, right? Yes. Yeah. All right. That's why. Any more discussion? Okay. Do I hear a motion to ratify ratify the emergency certification Shore Road and Greenwood Road Greenwood Road National Department of Public Works emergency emergency exploratory dig and installation of a sleeve at the culvert.
So moved. Second. Roll call vote. Ackerman, aye. Crow, aye. Crouch, aye. Atkinson, aye. Molton, aye. Toledo, aye. Once, aye. Motion passes and emergency certification is ratified. Who wants to sign this? I got to sign it here. Then you can sign it. Yes, you can sign it. Why don't you pass one around that we can all sign? Do we Here, here's one. Yeah. Should we adjourn first? >> going to table the the May 4th meeting minutes until June 1st. Yep. And then uh any member prerogatives?
Hearing none. Do I hear a motion to adjourn? So moved. Second. Roll call vote. Ackerman, aye. Crow, aye. Crouch, aye. Atkinson, aye. Molton, aye. Toledo, aye. Once, aye. Meeting is adjourned.

[music] >> I was driving home on 495 north. We were entering the Foxborough area. And my wife noticed that someone had pulled over like abruptly. And she asked me what was going on and I said, "I have a feeling it's going to be an accident." Anybody have an ice? As soon as I said that, as I was slowing down, they came around that vehicle and saw the vehicle on its side. The The wheels were still spinning on the side. So, then I noticed it was on fire. The underside of the car was the top was on fire. There were flames you could see? Yes. Yeah. And when you saw that, what were you thinking? What were you feeling? I just said, "This It's an accident and there's going to be people in there and I want to get them out." So, what did you What did you do next?
1-0 You got 1-4. Yeah, got to go quickly here in the count. And Larson's a good uh two strike hitter though, so I don't think it phases him too much. Here comes the 0-2. Just missed. Runner was getting is now in a pickle. Clark in a rundown. McQueen is coming home to score. He's going to get there. Clark is in a still in the pickle. McQueen scores. Clark is safe. The tag was missed and Clark gets in there at second. What a wild play and the clockers add an extra run.
Alicia goes back, AND IT IS GONE. WOW. >> CHRIS BRADICA SENDS IT TO THE PARKING LOT. A two-run home run, his first of the season, and the Clockers are pouring it on. It is eight to three. What a swing. I think that's the first one I've seen in this park so far. Unbelievable by, you know, who else but Chris Bradica. You know, if I had to pick the person that was going to do that, it would have been Bradica. You know, the whole team came out to kind of congratulate him, and Coach Messina kind of pushed him into, you know, back back into the dugout uh in respect for the Dedham team over here, which is a smart move. You know, a good a good professional move on his part. But what a job by Chris Bradica. You know, I remember him hitting a home run.
All right, welcome with everybody to tonight's match up for as the East Longmeadow Spartans take on the Minnechaug Falcons for the Western Mass finals. East Longmeadow finished off the regular season with a 12 and 4 record beating West Springfield 11 to 10 in overtime with an incredible goal by Mack Whitwer. Minnechaug is 12 and 5 beating Northampton 15 to 4 to reach the finals. During the season these two teams face each other off twice. Spartans winning a game and Minnechaug winning the other. Both games ended in a final of 12 to 10. East Longmeadow's looking to make it 3 years in a row for the Western Mass title. Last time Minnechaug was in the finals was in 2023 when they upset East Longmeadow 11 to 10 to get into the finals only to lose to Longmeadow 16 to 2. Mack Whitwer up on the draw.
