So the paving and curbs, that's going to be going in in the next couple of weeks. So the curbs will do the outline for all the parking lots and the driveway in that area. And then once that's in, you'll be able to really see, you know, the shape of it and the parking for the uh employees, the bus drivers, and the buses. And um Yeah, that project's coming right along. So like now that we're past all the crazy rain, maybe now we'll keep it moving and that that should be all ready to go at the the end of June, early July. We'll have a uh a grand opening celebration over there. So we got that planned as well.

So, that that would be an area that I'd highlight to the board and administration take a close look at our parking lots throughout the district. Due Because of the feedback we got from our facilities operations and advisory group, we added a couple more The first three tabs were tabs I created and I brought to the committee and the committee said, "Hey, what about our educational program? What about some other items that may be something that we need to consider in the future?" This is just some educational This is our educational programming. There are a couple things that I think you're going to hear a little bit more about from Mr. Peters when it comes to the co-op and and that's a huge adjustment for our district. I think it's going to be very positive. I know there are a lot of people excited about that.

Yep. Great work from transitioning defense to offense. That's love to see that, so. Love to see a great great heads up. 9 seconds left and down the field and the Spartans go into the first end of the first quarter where they're up three to one. Stay tuned everyone. >> Hey. >> All right, we are back with second quarter action. Goal scorer for for that quarter was Mac Whitmer or Ava Pellegrino and the last second nail-biter was uh Julia Illingsworth for the Spartans and O'Connor had the long goal for for uh Minnechaug. Spartans have looked great in transition. Great when they speed it up, so hopefully they keep working with that. Uh minimize the turnovers and I think we'll be good. >> That's the last couple possessions there's hardly any turnovers. I mean well miss the miss shot, stuff like that, but uh yeah, definitely I I like when the Spartans play at a faster pace.

And if we have shortfalls by June 30th, would we be able to transfer any remaining for the next budget for 2027? >> we won't have shortfalls. What we're concerned about is having too much money left in the budget. So, you're going to see that we have a uh I think it's next a lot of budget transfers. So what we've been doing is uh purchasing we've been moving money from one account that has excess amount of money in this year's budget to uh a to different shop accounts to increase their budgets so they can purchase materials and equipment that they may need for next year's budget now so that we can spend down some of this year's budget which will then uh give us uh additional funds that will move from whatever budget we utilize and purchase things from, we'll put put that money into uh into a uh a uh one of our another account to offset uh the budget to balance out the budget.

Um There is some asbestos in that building, but they're 9 by 9 floor tiles that have been covered covered up with 12 by 12 floor tiles. And if they're sealed and covered, there's no issues, but if we're ever to do like a major renovation and rip up all the floors or something, you would have to treat it as a remediation for asbestos. So, you know, we we have that in our engineer report that that we have in each school, and everybody would be aware of that if there was a project of some sort that it would affect. Um Trying to think. The The outside parking lots are in good shape. There is a greenhouse type unit out back that needs a new covering on it, but that that's uh if you're going to use it as a greenhouse, it'd just be a plastic covering over that.

Thank you for your comments. Margaret? Yes. Thank you. Okay. Julia LeClaire, back again. Um good evening. First, I want to say say thank you for the Board of Education, district leadership, and everyone involved in the budget process. I know the decisions you make tonight are difficult, and I appreciate the time, effort, and care that has gone into this work. As a parent with one current student in the district and a second starting in the fall, I spent a lot I spend a lot of time in the schools and see firsthand how impactful any cuts to the Board of Education budget can be. The teachers, support staff, and programs our students rely on every day make a a a difference. As you work through these budget challenges, I would encourage the board to look carefully at the number of administrators and central office staff when considering possible reductions.

One teacher shared, "Her engagement with the political world was never performative. She brought real attentiveness and thoughtfulness to every activity, approaching each one with care and depth. She didn't just absorb content, she made it her own. Time and again, she demonstrated mastery not by reciting what she had learned, but by applying it fluently to new situations and unfamiliar contexts. Her curiosity kept her asking the right questions, and her compassion gave those questions real meaning. She is exactly the kind of student who makes teaching worthwhile. It is my distinct privilege to announce the recipient of the social studies award for this year, Adeline Galvin. [cheering] [applause] The Frederick Douglas and Susan D. The Anthony Award is given to a junior who demonstrates a compassion for others, excellent leadership qualities in the classroom, and high academic achievement in the humanities and social sciences. Does anybody have any questions? Thank you for Mr. Martin. I have a question about the um about the wireless lock and badges and if you can answer it for security, that's that is understood. Is there some kind of manual override on that if there is no wireless or Yeah, uh so then each one of those locks does have a key. And so like we do have keys available. So if you've been in Briargate so they've been using it all this year. Uh and so far we hadn't have haven't had had to use those locks, but you can open it and then use a key to unlock it. Okay. If necessary. If there was a power outage or something like that. Thank you. But everything has battery backups, too. So. So, if there's a power outage, it doesn't default to open? Uh, no. No, like um, there's battery backups in the in the uh, building and they're designed to run the the uh, computer that runs the locks and then the locks are battery powered by themselves already.
