>> Yeah. Okay. I'll second that. Second that. Oops. So, all those in favor? I I I That's 5-0. Um And I I would like to nominate Claudia Bennett as vice chair for next year? I'll second that. I'll second that. >> [laughter] >> All those in favor? Aye. Aye. >> 5-0. Dick, good luck. And I would like to nominate Makida Keegan as clerk for next year. I'll second that. All those in favor? Aye. Congratulations. >> Makida, do you accept that? Oh. I do. Okay. All right. >> go. Cuz That Great. Okay. Thank you, guys. Thank >> Yeah. I appreciate um I appreciate your faith in me for for for chair for the next year, and I hope to do it justice. So, thank you, guys. Great. I'm sure you will. There won't be any issues at all, I'm sure. That we can't control or work or work through.
So, a ball and a strike here as Cahill looks to settle back in after getting that speed off the base pass. Here comes the 1-1. That's a strike and she's in the hole. >> Not so sure that Caroline liked that one. It looked like it might have been a little bit off the plate. So, she's going to have to protect now with two strikes. >> Comes the one two and she fights that one off and fouls it away. So, we'll do it again. >> As we talked about, she's been a tough strikeout this year. She's been a pretty good two strike hitter all season long as as her daddy I call the cardiac kid. Lot of two strike counts for her. So, hopefully she can put the brat in the ball here. >> Comes the one two again. That's a shot into center field. great at poles and she had a couple bullets come her way and she makes both plays to end the first.
Resolved and costing us money or >> to say what cost So yes, the the likelihood is yes. We are out of warranty. We're out of the warranty. It wasn't a very long warranty. I think it was a one year. And so so and we're you know What we know is that those units are producing the cold air but they are not capable right now of getting the cold air um really when things get hot and occupied getting the cold air through the vents in into the classrooms. That's where the hold up is. Now there are a number of reasons why that could be and I don't um at all subscribe to be an HVAC technician. So I won't even go into any of those details. What I know is I heard a lot of words today that sounded logical and things they're going to start looking into.
>> Excellent. Thank you. The city does the same thing and sometimes they float. They put it in in this year knowing that they want to get the PO for next year to have it on next year's budget. >> Exactly. Great. Anybody else? No. Okay. I think we need to have a motion to see I remembered this month to have um to get the uh financial reports uh approved and over to the board. So, can I have one of my committee members please make the motion? I can make the motion. >> Add a girl Cindy. >> I can talk. >> Go ahead. >> I say more. >> Yeah. Just say that you want to make the motion to >> make the motion for >> to accept the reports. Right. >> Accept the financials. >> Okay. Motion made by Cindy. Do I have a second? >> Second by Sherry.
Sometimes we lack guidance, we experience many firsts, and we find a way to navigate ourselves through it all. Along the way, I learned that to do things the right way, you have to experience the mistakes first. One thing I realized is that no matter how much you've gone through, the world did not end. And if there's one lesson that really stuck with me outside of class, it's that the clock moves one way and that's only forward. High school has given us countless opportunities to make memories that have brought us together with the people we are with today. Just as we are being celebrated by those in these stands, let's not forget to celebrate those in the chairs sitting alongside us as well, especially those that we had closest to us. For the past 4 years, I have noticed that being surrounded by the right people really does matter.
In fact, what I admire most about this class is your resilience, your desire. The past four years have been full of wonderful memories and accomplishments, but it had also come with hardships. A recent tragedy reminds us to stop and realize that our time here is a gift, not a guarantee, and it really puts things into perspective. These tragedies leave us to ask, "How do I want to be remembered? What matters to us the most and what am I doing to live up to that with each action? Make no mistake about it. Graduating from high school is a great milestone and it should be celebrated. But I hope that all of you see this very moment as a starting point for you. The philosopher Socrates as recorded by Plato shares a short but profound view on life. He said the unexamined life is not worth living.

I've already spoken with Principal Emily, ACCESS teacher Eric Magaña, district staff Jen Scalia, and other about the practical solutions that could be implemented this summer without major construction. These solutions could include separate but attached space where students can safely regulate and and continue their school day when the classroom environment becomes overwhelming, or a more private covered space behind their current classroom so students can reset with support from the staff, or an additional exit that allows students to access privacy and space away from the main playground. Tonight, I'm asking the board to ensure that this process moves forward before the next school year begins and works with the educators who work directly with these students to include them in these decisions. These are realistic improvements that can be made over the summer to provide these students with greater privacy, dignity, safe safety, and access to appropriate behavioral support while remaining at Hooker Oak.
Um K is a resolution that came across um through email that a lot of the boards are doing now. It's a resolution urging relief from the rising public school employee healthcare costs. So, as you're all aware, when we had our public hearing and also through the entire budget season, we were discussing um how these health care costs are increasing and they're really causing some issues for the district. So, um our local associations have kind of come out and said we should all pass this resolution and send it up to um you know, assemblymen and the governor and things of that nature to see if we can get some type of reform. um to kind of help bring those costs down moving forward. Um L is to approve the 2627 Camden County Ed Services Commission general services contract. M is to approve the 2627 uh Gloucester County Special Services School District professional services contract.

He fosters a safe and supportive, inspiring classroom culture where students feel respected and respected and motivated to grow. But beyond the classroom, Mr. Ratliff, he is the co-advisor of our middle school robotics club. He volunteers his time to support the school play with sound system operations, and he chaperones a multitude of school events. Most importantly, Mr. Ratliff headlines our school pep rallies and can can get the students going like no other. For these reasons and countless others, please help me celebrate the CMS Teacher of the Year, Mr. Mike Ratliff. >> [applause] [applause] >> And last but not least, we have Ms. Larson. >> Thank you. I am proud to recognize our Governor's Educator of the Year, Mr. Pierre Abd. Mr. Abd has been a valued member of the Bound Brook community since 2008, serving as an exceptional French teacher, mentor, coach, and leader. His classroom promotes authentic communication, cultural awareness, and real-world language application, while encouraging students to grow as confident global citizens.
So, it should be a really great evening um celebrating, you know, our students and their in the arts tomorrow night. So, that's all. Thank you. >> Thank you. Uh, all right. Moving on. No H reports. Um, so that brings us to action items. Miss, could you please make a motion for um program? >> Yes. Uh, before I do that, um, I just wanted to ask, um, on page four, um, I noticed this just because I personally will be attending this trip. So I have some knowledge of it. Um the fourth grade reach trip from what I understand that uh was built or should have been built through the consortium. Um and that it it's not the parents providing transportation. That might have been confused with the sending district convocations where the parents provide transportation and there's no cost. But the shore consortium trips do have a cost unless there's some kind of deal that I don't know about.
>> Good evening everyone. Um I want to thank you for coming and I want to congratulate everyone here this uh this evening. Uh tonight is truly an honor to recognize our school three teacher of the year, Evbec Yagan. Come on up. Evette amazes me every single day. Even after recently returning uh from maternity leave and caring for a newborn and a three-year-old at home, she continues to give her heart and soul to our students, staff, and community with a smile on her face. Her dedication is simply inspiring. Before leaving for maternity leave, Evbeth was running a Girls Who Code program at 7:30 in the morning for our fourth grade girls. Since returning in January, she has already organized two successful book fairs, assisted in managing bagel sales and countless PTO events, scheduled author visits, received a grant for Makers Day, and oversaw a high impact tutoring program in the morning for school 3 and five.
They are >> [applause] >> Good evening board members, students, staff, families, and our entire Oakley Union Elementary School District community. I am Dr. Pedroza, a proud student who attended Oakley Union Elementary School, and I am also a parent. Thank you for being with us tonight for this incredibly special celebration of our eighth grade students as they move on to high school. Teachers, you set the tone with your guidance and dedication. I want to ask all our teachers to please stand up. Please stand up all our middle school teachers who are on the stage. You know who you are. Mrs. Macario, Mrs. De Lara, Mr. Maningo, Mr. Paulo, Mr. Roger, stand up guys. Give it up for these teachers. These are >> [applause] >> From my 48 years and 20 years teaching from the Dallas Unified School District in Colorado, there's no better middle school teachers anywhere.
They came to a country that asked them to start over completely to learn new systems, new customs, new languages. And somehow they still carried hope throughout all of it. And despite how exhausting that must have been, they still built a home filled with love, faith, and dreams bigger than their circumstances. Everything I know about sacrifice, perseverance, and strength, I learned from them. As they guided me past these 18 years, I do not know if they ever realized that the people I most wanted to become were them. Thank you, Mama and Baba, for everything. Everything good in me began with you. And today, while we celebrate the graduates sitting in these chairs, I also want to celebrate the parents who crossed oceans, worked impossible hours, and sacrificed quietly so their children could dream loudly. If you are the child of immigrants, would you please stand so we can honor your parents today?
You may be wrong. to say that you'll bring me along [music] to the world you see. To the world [music and singing] I close my eyes to see. I close my eyes to see [singing and music] my head. A million dreams are keeping me [singing and music] away. of what the world could be. A vision of [music] the one I see. A million dreams is all it's going to take. A million dreams for the world. We're going to make for the world. We're going [singing and music] to make [cheering] [applause] Thank you, Mr. Rafferty, and our incredible vocalists. Leadership is critical to the success of any organization and a high school campus is certainly no different. Student leadership maintains school culture. It establishes engagement opportunities and provides moments for students to have the great experiences and memories of high school. Our next two speakers should be commended on their leadership and passion for Greenway.
As I'm sure many of the adults in your life can attest, life is not a linear path and many things are out of our control. So when you do fail, remember that what's meant for you will never miss you. And what misses you was never meant for you. I hope you all find your own success in life, no matter what that might mean to you. It's been an honor to serve as your student body president, class of 2026. Thank you. >> Thank you, Sherlin. Now the Apollo Combined Choir will perform in my life. >> [singing and music] >> I remember all my life [music] [singing] though have changed some forever. Some have gone and some remain [singing and music] their moment with lovers [music] and friends. I still recall [music and singing] my [music] love. All [music] these friends and there is no one with you [music] lose their meaning [music] [singing] for people and I know in my life [singing and music] I love you more.
Okay. Congratulations, everybody. Democracy at its finest. Okay. Next, discuss the FY 27 budget. Don't we have to discuss the June 3rd town meeting? >> Yeah, went right over. Discuss the June 3rd, 2026 town meeting. And this should be a a pretty quick meeting because it's to dissolve the current meeting that was uh continued. continued. Am I right, Michael? Is that's what we're looking at to do? That That is correct. And um actually, we could take the next two agenda items together because they were meant to be together um dependent upon the um the outcome of yesterday's election. And June 3rd will be uh our second night of town meeting where we will only be convening to adjourn town meeting. Um we will not need to make any budget adjustments or budget amendments. Um but uh yeah, simply to to meet and to adjourn town meeting.
But thanks to the speed of Nico, the clockers get on the board. It's one- nothing after one. Yeah, both Vendetti and Ky hit the ball pretty hard. That ball came off pretty hot off Kyrie's bat, but Napole was in exactly the right position there. just moved a little bit over and makes the play on the line drive to center and and we've only got one run across on what what I feel like in a lot of games could have been base hits, but today the the Westwood Wolverines have brought their gloves >> and we will get a second inning of Nico Staris on the mound. Had a scoreless first inning. A couple strikeouts look to razor sharp >> 678 >> Granada Rafon and pulls. >> Be nice if they can get out of this uh with no hits. If they can get a one, two, three inning and lead off the third with a nine hitter.
And it it the right people are looking into it. Uh it just we got to get it resolved. Fortunately we have a couple cool days coming up. When when will we have quotes or potential financial I think once they identify what the problem is then we know what the or what the solution to the problem is. Then we'll be able to you know figure out how much that will cost. >> Yeah and the I don't the the engineer that I spoke with this morning he believes the fix is quite simple actually. So right now we're we're paying for time to speak with these these people. So I don't you know so that's really what it is but they're sort of directing us exactly. They're directing us on what to be looking at and pinpointing replacing, you know, different, you know, things that are not as expensive, so um that's what what we're looking at.
