Are there any questions? Public comment? Okay. Um it is an action item. Um So, is there a motion um associated with this item? No, this one was informational. >> Informational only. >> Yeah. Okay. The next one's an action. item. I'm sorry, I'm jumping ahead. >> [laughter] >> Trying to get through this. There's so much on the agenda. Okay. No no Nothing to do now. Nothing to do now. Um let's move along to the one where the action is actually needed. 8D2 discussion to consider an amendment to the previously adopted minutes. Right. So we have uh It's been requested to change uh the minutes from a previous um board meeting. Um essentially what it boils down to is it was a motion made and um we'd like it to reflect the exact language that was used in that motion. So tonight what we do is we actually bring forward a motion to then change the language at a future meeting.
They've all been working towards the the resolution of this sewer line uh placement, but as of now, they haven't reached an agreement. Um so, that again, that's the only one that is currently before the um before the ZBA. So, moving on to the Conservation Commission. >> Before you jump, Michael, are there uh conditions that are being worked on for that project? Not that I'm aware of. They I believe they're waiting until they can get some kind of resolution, if they do come to a res- resolution, on the sewer line before they start working on the decision and the conditions associated. >> Were there any conditions uh with the 61 Waverly Street? Uh outlined in the special permit? >> Yeah. Um Yes, but I don't I don't have that list in front of me, and there were also some with the Conservation Commission, as well. Yeah.
Two runners on. Really good opportunity for her to get her first hit of the game. Ashlin has retaken a lead at seven to six >> or for the kids at home 67 maybe. >> Hey 67 I can't can't miss an opportunity to give the old 67. I'd love to see right now this thing turn to uh 6 to9. >> I love that Holy Cashion did uh come in and pinch run for Vendetti. She is the catcher so it helps that she can go get her gear on for next inning. Yeah, high school MIA rules as well as college ball. You get get a a courtesy runner for the catcher and the pitcher. Uh, and we do typically take advantage of that. >> It's two balls and no strikes to Kyra. Here's the pitch. That one is popped up. Shallow center field. Pulls running in. She can't get there.
Mhm. That is not necessarily what we need to do, right? Um we need a reliable boiler that will heat this building for an interim window of time. And so, what we've done and there are many different ways that this could be done. There can be it can be a refurbished boiler that is um still under warranty, right? That will be, you know, reliable for that window of time that we need. Um uh there can be, you know, some some different value engineering. Perhaps we don't need the same size boiler because boilers are much more efficient today than they were probably 50 years ago when these boilers were installed. So, we have developed an RFP um to go out that essentially is asking contractors to provide us with an an already value engineered design with this short-term solution. Um we don't want to be spending a a lot of money on something that may not last or you know, depending on what the long-term solution of the HVAC upgrade plan is, that boiler may be ripped out, we may be doing some completely alternative type of heat source.
Any other discussion? We have a motion and a second. All in favor? >> I 6.13 review of BP4119-.24 24 maintaining appropriate appropriate adult student interactions. This was submitted by Jackie. Is there a discussion? >> I would like to say something. So um so we have board 4119.2 maintaining appropriate adult student interactions and wanted I had she had sent me like a mock policy. I sent her our current policy and I asked her do you want to amend dollars? You want to ask it for good as it is? I never heard back. So policy we have here is just our current policy. It it basically outlines what we expect our staff relations students don't email their personal email. Don't get on your social media sites. Don't text. Don't get personal. Just professional stand. >> Yeah. Discussion action. So we have a good room to approve. >> So there was nothing that came up that brought this up for discussion.
But tonight's motion is just to bring it forward for change at a future meeting. So you know something along the lines of making a motion to consider an amendment for a previously adopted minutes for item 9A3 from February 18th, um would be what we're looking for and then we'll bring it at a future meeting to with when Tom is back to actually talk about what the language needs to be and how we're going to change it. Make any sense? We have to have two motions to do this. I think it makes sense to most of us. >> [laughter] >> This one's just to say we're going to change it at a future meeting. Or consider changing it at a future meeting. I'll make a motion to do that. Okay. So how about how about consider an amendment to a previously adopted minutes? How about that?
>> Like the one I I I can remember like right off the top of my head, related to the ConCom, and that was the replacement of the um Yeah. No, I I remember that. I wasn't sure what came out of the ZBA on that one, that's all. Yeah, and so yeah, just with the moving on to the ConCom, and so, we just talked about 61 Waverly. Um And and I should point out the conditions uh in Waverly uh for the Conservation Commission also require them to create additional documents uh to bring back before the DPW and the ConCom before they can do any other before they get the final approval before any other site activities uh would commence. Um So, moving on to the 10 so they had their fifth hearing with the Conservation Commission on May 18th. That was really devoted more to the contamination on site and dealing with the contamination.
>> Aar scores easily. Right behind her is Holly Cashin. It's a two RBI single for Caroline Kyra. And there you go. It is 9 to6. Yeah, two two ones in a row where Kyrie and Vendetti both just put it in the right spot. Nei neither of them hit it the ball as well as they hit it earlier this this season uh or or I should say earlier this game, but they did exactly what they need to do. Put it in the right spot, put their bat in the ball and and we said when you when you make contact, good things happen. Uh that thing falls for a single and two runs come across. So, it's uh we're in good shape now. It's great shape. And it's fun. It's It's funny how baseball works sometimes. They both hit rockets their first time up, nothing to show for, and then both get just little bloop singles, but they get RBI's with them.
And so, we want to be really thoughtful about that. So, um Dan Caldwell has he's been in touch with three different contractors. One being the one that gave us the quote. It was a a little over $400,000 for a huge boiler to last us 30 to 40 years. But that's I mean still So I mean it's not terrible. >> It's not terrible. We're hoping for better. And in having going back and having conversations there are there's already ways that oh, okay. >> That's what you're looking for. You're not looking to just replace it forever to to heat for the next 34 years. Let's look at that. So So Dan Mr. Caldwell is speaking with three contractors right now and really trying to hone in on what we are looking for in this and to give us some options. And we're asking for options. You know, high to low and then and then we will bring it back to the board to make some some decisions.
uh SB was basically a new law that schools have to have this policy in place. We already have it to permit if we wanted to. I never heard back from >> so there haven't been any changes to original policy. >> So the only action being takes if somebody wanted to make a change. >> Correct. This is something that you want to bring back. >> No action at this time. >> All right. 614 teacher consent forms to authorize certificated staff to teach in an assignment outside of their current credential for the 2526 summer school session. Uh so this is pretty uh pretty standard. You we get uh kind of around at the beginning of the school year uh where you'll have some teachers that completion outside. Same thing comes when we get to uh summer school. how we're having those teachers complete those uh because they will be doing credit recovery and that's that's largely based on software software platform.
That sounds great. Okay. >> [laughter] >> Do we have a second to that? I'll second. Any board discussion? Well, I just want to point out that um I do know uh I I want to recognize the difficulty of taking minutes on uh particularly that that happened to be a particularly long meeting. And um also there is no expectation that minutes are verbatim. And I just want to point that out just to the public just in general. So, the fact that um this is considered um in the future uh is just that. It's a consideration and that's all I want to say. Right. So, if I'm remembering correctly, um I made the motion and uh Vice President Olsen made the You made the second. Member Hayes made the second. Okay. Any further discussion? Let's go ahead and vote then at this time. All those in favor?
Currently, one of the big issues is whether or not the building floods. During the May 18th meeting, the applicant continues to deny that the building and the property have historically flooded. But you know, we have documented evidence from 1955 that shows that. And then there have been multiple times since 1955 that the building has flooded according to our Department of Public Works. I know this building always smells like it flooded. Yeah, I mean and if you've been in that basement, it it does have that You don't have to be in the basement for that. That's true. That is true. I've just spent more time in the basement there than than in some of the the upper offices there. But um the the applicant made a comment that the site wasn't within the Superfund site and was down gradient of it. Um I'm not necessarily sure that's accurate.
>> They They do. And and and all that matters is what comes across that plate. So, we are in good shape here. Um with the Caucasing around in the inning here. It's Lauraai Colette who led off this inning, the fourth inning with a solo homer to center field. And that one smoked into left field for a base hit. Was a rocket. That infield doesn't have time to react. >> That was a rocket. Lauraai is seeing the ball. She She's She's seeing beach balls right now up there. She is in an absolute zone. Um that was her third hit of the day. Three for three. I actually believe right now she's a triple away from a cycle because she has a a double, a single, and a home run. >> You said she's done it before. So, >> she she did hit two triples uh in her last out >> as Casadian grounds it to third.
We want to make sure that we're looking at this from every type of angle because we do know that you know, this is likely a temporary solution to to a to a really um ongoing problem that that the building has been facing. >> Yeah, need um for for for a couple decades now. Um Are we also looking at the potential of being able to like sell back or That's all part of it. sell the boiler after 5 years or however many years? >> Exactly. That's all all of that is being you know, we want we want them to give us proposals for all of those things. Yes. Yes. All right. Yeah, cuz I think you know, we talked in the finance meeting. I think the concern is right. We know that we need it for October. Right? But we don't know how many Octobers we need it for.
Um so you have teachers that do their social science but then they're going to have students summer school covering variety of courses to make up that >> Okay. So we have a motion to Motion to approve. Second it. >> All in favor? >> I 615. So this isformational first read district master plan for services to English learners. >> This this was brought uh actually Josha brought this last year um into the inaugural first edition. So I'm bringing it back just for review. This is something that the DACA uh looks at and use as well. Um and it is a required element for that in their review. It is a great tool that we utilize to look at the entire processes for our English learner students from their initial testing all the way through classification or discussion. How many English learners do we have? >> Currently we have 47.
I 5% I. I. Oppose. All right. This passes. Madam President, just for kicks, what was that motion? You're asking me? No, I'm asking Erica. I just want to make sure that we got it right so that we're moving forward. Okay. We're comfortable with that. All right. Okay. We are moving along um to agenda item 8 D3. Uh this is also discussion action. Um this is regarding um camera installation, data storage, and infra- infrastructure. Um For those who haven't been here previous meetings, this is a been an ongoing discussion for us.
I don't think Becca feels like that's accurate either because um the EPA website shows that the boundary was shared and shows that most of the property is within that. Yeah, it's in the plume. It's part of the plume. >> Yeah, they showed that the other night, actually. And isn't that one of the issues that's being brought up time and time again? Yes. >> That their information that they submitted to us and to Mass Housing is not accurate because it how it does not reflect some of those things. Yeah, the UAL. Yeah, and that goes to some of, you know, what Connie and what some of the board Connie and some of the other board members have have pointed out as well. >> Okay. Okay. Good. Um I believe and actually just one final thing I do believe that they finally agreed to do a site walk.
Risky >> throw is high, but fielded at first base by Clinton. Yeah, she could have just tapped on third. >> Yeah, that ball was hit hard enough for her to have an easy play at third base. uh but instead she does go across the diamond and does indeed make the play. Uh but we we get uh a few across in that one uh to take the lead 9 to6 on some really clutch hits by the clockers in that inning. >> It was great six runs to to respond to a four-run inning from Westwood. You really don't expect like you know a team to score four runs and then some team to match that even and do even better. And now Usarus will come out for the fifth inning here. And she does have a little bit of a cushion, but as we've seen today, how big is a cushion really?
Right? So looking at it renting it you're like, well, you know, it's doable. The likelihood that anything with the heat is done here. It's going to be years down the road. >> Yep. So we're looking at 200 and something thousand dollars. It could be 5 years down. Yep. By the time all this stuff is done. So, I mean, I don't know. I'm Look, explore every option available, right? But, I mean, I think that yes, we're looking for a band-aid, right? To cover a pretty big cut. You know, but at the end of the day, it's not it just is not the likelihood of it being one heating season is just not what we're looking at. So, um so, I think we have to figure out how we can purchase it. Something. Just trying to be responsible too. Yeah, and then I get it. I appreciate that.
That's all entire history. >> How many are you? >> Um I think I'm just going to go off >> the numbers. I I remember because we run this report. Uh Mr. Mr. Dell and I run this report. Um about 24 at Anderson High School. I think there's 14 at West Valley. Uh then he went into kind of the single digits when we get to the all one attempt as we go through the year. So, but we've stayed right around 47 to 48. >> What degree are they? What degree? >> Various one through three levels one through three and certainly had uh at least six if not few more uh that that have scored so high a level four on their LEAC that we're beginning. >> It's pretty cool. If you reclassify and you do well in your English class, you get the California State Seal of Literacy, which is pretty cool to have on your >> very hardest.
