Um for SEAL for that that peer conflict we focused on conflict resolution training for all the students. So, stop, walk, talk is a classic PBIS strategy of how you can solve small problems um interpersonally. And so, we focused on that as a whole school. And then each month we had a different behavior focus that we rotated through both what we were learning about in morning meetings um and also kind of whole school events and different things like that. We also um had our colonies structure which also was focused on some of that peer um agreement uh lack of peer conflict and students reported that they liked that very much and and enjoyed it and staff as well. This was where we had students from different grade levels would get together uh every other month in a group of about 14 to 16 kids and they would have anal topic.

And then family connections. We've we had those focus areas last uh last year where each month we'd focus on a different behavior area. Um and then this year we've focused on sending home um SEO connections for families which were discussion prompts, activity ideas that corresponded with what we were focused on on school in order to allow parents to come alongside us in helping students to to grow. So, um, moving into next year, we're hoping to build on some of those successes and go a little bit deeper.

Um clearly our area of greatest need continues to be studentto student respect. That is our lowest score when you look at the four questions. Um, and our SLT has already brainstormed researchbased ideas that we look forward to applying uh during next school year to attack that area of growth. >> Okay, so as Jeff mentioned, we set out this year focusing on ELA and SEAL. So starting with ELA, we had monthly PLC data meetings with our teams that really just helped us focus on looking at the data to try to make instructional strategies work in the classroom. With the professional learning sessions, those really helped in the fall as we were doing the data meetings.

Once we got taught more what those ICP components were, then we could have more ideas in those data meetings of what to do moving forward for instructional strategies. And then our ORCY work, it didn't only support students this year, but it also laid the groundwork for strong engagement strategies for next year as we implement CCOA. So, we're super excited about that. Um, but one successful addition that was not originally included was our video reflections. You'll see that next to the ORS piece. Twice this year, all of our staff recorded a lesson and then we used a rubric to reflect on student engagement in ORC. Then we met together as teams PLC's during staff meetings to reflect on common instructional practices and student discourse data to improve on that. And then for SEAL, Jeff met monthly with student focus groups. And this was really awesome where they could share their insight on sense of belonging and they said some things that maybe we wouldn't normally hear.

So just having that um small focus group really helped with going along with our theme of superheroes. We had six new superheroes that were invented by students that highlighted the great qualities of portrait of a graduate. And then as a staff, we continued to collaborate on how we can use these skills within engagement strategies. So some examples were behavior boosts. Um but just tying that all together in a culture throughout the whole school year. And then lastly, another addition to our SIP work was a partnership with G Marie Cro to try out a new data protocol framework called data wise. So it kind of goes into ory back in the LA but I was lucky enough to be a part of this process as the fourth grade team was chosen and this elevated our data meetings by helping us use an assetbased approach to analyze authentic student data build on student strengths and identify areas for growth and we're super excited to incorporate some aspects of this work into our next year data meetings for PLC's.
