>> Yeah, girls basketball going to IU for a basketball camp. Should be in front of you in your packet. Somebody had asked, "Hey, why why would you go overnight?" Those basketball camps do last later in the evening. It is a mini bus, so it's not like we're sending a driver there to stay. There would sort of be a a um coach driving that bus. That's what it takes to get an 8-meter. Yeah, goggles have to come off. Pelletier's gotten hit in the noggin a bunch of times this year with no calls. Not just these officials, but all year long she's happens. But Jane Pelletier 8-meter attempt.
When these elements are in place consistently, we know that young people achieve greatness. Um and for us, this is not just a philosophy, it's a roadmap. Um and every single program that we offer follows that. So, I won't go into all the programs, but we um by September, we'll follow almost what we're offering in Ridgefield, and we'll have about 50 different programs that are offered for all club members. Um there truly is something for everyone. Every program that we offer is evidence-based and outcome driven. Um and they're all designed and tested through research with Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Um, and as you could see through the outcome driven club experience, we know that we have outcomes that are measurable. So, four in every five club kids reports earning mostly A's and B's. Um, eight and 10 help them say the club helped them graduate.

Pelletier false start. And Melrose will come up with it deep into their territory. Matthews kicks the ball out. We'll go with Ahelya. She's getting chased by bunch of the Spartans. It's not Ahelya. It's Daniels. McNally. Oh. Now Daniels with the ball. Daniels behind the cage. Downs. Downs looking to turn around and go up and over. Julia Gray turns around says, "No, thank you. I'll take that." And she kicks the ball up to Kylie Marino. Kylie Marino will start the Spartans offense. So that's what it looks like from them. They turn around and if it's anybody other than Mack, they'll trip her team or and Kylie Marino evades it all. Kylie Marino, one of the bigger faster players in Western Mass. Gets the ball over to Pellegrino. Pellegrino over to McKechnie slowing down the pace. Spartans up 6-4 with just under 4 minutes left in the third quarter.
Um, a large part of what we're focusing on now is career um, readiness, a job exploration. So, nine in every 10 club teams feels ready to get a job. Um, 81% of our seniors apply for post-secary education. That does include some of the trades that they're learning, you know, learning to get certificates and stuff for as well. Um and then beyond the numbers um and these are some of the things that actually we already reporting on out of the Danbury Club. But um we know that um what kids and families are hearing every day. They have improved confidence, stronger relationships, a sense of belonging, a trusted adult in their corner, and for many of our members, the club is one of the most constant stable parts of the day outside of the school day. Um, and for their families, they're already telling us it's giving them a great peace of mind.

>> Any questions or comments? Do we have good success with that? >> Many of those students. >> So, especially at the high school level, it's a credit grab. So, they're able to keep some credits and not get behind the eight ball. So, yeah, we do have some success. We do have some failures out of it as well. Kids that don't necessarily want to show up. We are very limited as to you know, if we have a kid that's not showing up, we're not going to sign them up for four classes second semester if he didn't go to four first semester. So, we watch that. >> Any other questions?
Mack over to Marino. Marino up on top. >> Vivian, no no goals this quarter, right? Nope. >> No, not one goal. Marino turning around. She goes around the corner. She turns around goes in and out. Nothing there. Marino always dangerous when she goes behind the cage. Kicks the ball back out to Whitwer. Whitwer with the ball. Mack turns around. This time Mack will get herself some shooting space. Mack Whitwer looking to get an 8-m attempt. On an unfavorable for most people for the 8-m. We'll see what Mack can do with this. Mack runs in left-handed twizzler turns around and good save by the goalie. >> Great stop by McDonald's. McDonald looking to turn around find somebody. She gets the ball to Healey. Healey with the ball. She gets the ball up to Daniels. Good job by Burns to stay with her. Daniels still with the ball.
>> It's back to you >> to wrap it up. >> Um, so in Ridgefield, our partnership with the public schools uh was developed over over many years. Um and we've been able to do that through open communication, shared focus, uh showing up consistently for the same kids that we share. In fact, um one of the recipients, Avery, is a club kid. She joined the first day we opened and uh and has been there ever since. Actually, she's working a couple of days a week. So, um, you know, already kind of seeing that connection, but obviously serving the same population and the same needs and and you know, we hope we can continue to build on that here with, uh, with our, uh, board of ed here in Danbury and our, uh, public school officials. Um, and our promise to you is simple. We will be here.
Jacel Ortiz Espatita Espatia, [applause] Bretley Jameson, Carmen Ripper, and Ethan Smith. [applause] And those are four scholarships. Thank you for being patient. We're at the end here, but we would like to recognize our three uh runner-ups to the Lily Scholarship. Uh Maya CR, U Chloe Dick, and Brenley Jameson. One thing I do want to [applause] mention is that Linda Smith this year doubled the scholarship from 5,000 to 10,000 for the runnerups. So really [applause] she in the back and her husband was the one who started kind of started this uh scholarship program for the Decar County Community Foundation. So you might thank Linda Smith for that. And our final award is the Gator County Community Foundation Lily Scholarship and that goes to Madison Gold. [applause] foundation as Mr. Hunter, what are you laughing at? As a community foundation, we are very proud to present this these awards uh to all three schools in the county and it really is an honor and a privilege to uh see the accomplishments you've made.
Hearing none, all those in favor signify by saying aye. >> Aye. >> Opposed, same sign. Motion carries. CPR courses. >> Yeah, one thing we do here is do provide CPR to our CPR training to our >> [clears throat] >> faculty. So, those are the dates for the 26th, 27th school year. We do pay Bob Freegy to lead those classes. Ask for your approval as presented. >> Entertain a motion to approve the CPR course dates as presented. >> So moved. >> Second.
And she gets pushed back out to the 30 and they will be resetting their offense. Matthews with the ball to the wide open Daniels misses wide. The other Dan No, Ar- Arnold there to back it up. I feel like I'm calling the same girls the wrong names all game long. Arnold with the ball. Looking to do a roll on the Cackney. Nothing there. Kicks the ball out to Matthews. Matthews around the corner turns around go tries to go five hole with Julia Gray, and Julia Gray with another stop keeping the Spartans definitely both keepers keeping uh both teams in the games. >> I was just going to say some some great goalkeeping we've seen this quarter and throughout the game. I mean, as reflected by the score, so. >> Absolutely. These goalies are having a uh tremendous game on both sides of the the fields.
We'll be consistent. Uh, we'll show up year after year uh, as a part partner that you can count on. Um, and we hope that as time goes on, you'll think of us as an extension of the um, you know, the curriculum, an extension of the staff and extension of the program. Um, and and we've really been able to build that, you know, in in Ridgefield and and have that relationship. And so we hope and we know we're off to a great start. Um, but we want that to continue. Um, and so with that, um, our long-term vision, uh, is bold here in Danbury, but I think it's clear, uh, we want to be the premier out of school time destination for every Danberry child. Um, obviously some growth will have to come with that. Um, many of you know that the location is the old Y, 12 Boutton Street, which is a great location.

>> Any questions or comments? All those in favor signify by saying aye. >> Aye. >> Opposed, same sign. >> [clears throat] >> Overnight field trip request, FFA. I have Miss Losey is here for that. >> There yeah, Miss Losey and Ruby Frued. Do you want to tell them a little bit about the field trip, where you're going? >> Yeah. Uh kind of like last year, I'm sorry, I have violent pneumonia here. >> [laughter] >> So, Ruby is one of them that is on our national poultry team this year again. So, we placed second in the state of Indiana. We were 31 points off of winning the state. So, next year we're going to grab and hold on tight. Um but, we qualified for the Big E once more in Massachusetts. So, Ruby Frued, Chloe Jordan, Ty Horo, and Uriah Costa are the ones that will be going to Massachusetts and representing Indiana.
McKecknie with the ball. McKecknie over to Parsons. Parsons to Illingsworth. Illingsworth with two goals the other day in the Western Mass Championship game. Crimmins turns around, one hops it to Mack Whitworth up on top. We'll have to wait till the last the last shot, or Mack will do what Mack does best. Gets the ball to McKecknie. McKecknie still with the ball, does a roll dodge. Nice pass to Whitworth, and Mack Whitworth just scores. Oh, no. Well, that was a nice pass by Wiener to >> It's like a little setup there. >> Yeah, but Sabina McKecknie 8-m attempt. Sabina McKecknie runs it in, turns around, and goes low on the goalie, and Sabina McKecknie gets herself up on the board. And I don't know, but that looks like that's more than one other person from uh East Longmeadow now. >> Yep, I >> That's to the fan that says they only have one girl.
Uh, 215 kids a day in there is is uh, it's pretty full house. Um, so with that will come some growth. however that however we get there. Um but there's just so much need and so much opportunity. Um and you know we want this to be available and the club programs and and outcomes to be available for for all kids. Um and um not just the ones who happen to live nearby, not just the ones who can or can't afford it. Uh really every child to be part of the Boys and Girls Club in some capacity. So that's our our long-term vision. Um, you know, we are a full continuum of programming, a true community anchor. You know, we we we we hope to build that here in Danbury. Um, as well, um, and that's what we're working towards. And, you know, just so thankful to have your partnership and have your support, uh, cuz that really does make all the difference.
