So, he'll be back with us for at least another two years, and I'm sure there's going to be a a medal under his belt as well. >> There you go. Great. There you go. >> So, that's pretty much all we have. Um, thank you guys for your time. >> We appreciate it guys. Thank you. >> We look forward to seeing you next year. >> Become an annual. >> Will all these students be coming back next year? >> So, everyone on this side. Yes. >> Um, and actually everyone on this side. >> Absolutely. Yeah. So, >> we'll see you back here next year. >> Yes. >> Thank you guys. >> Thank you. What a great guy. Great. Mr. Olsen, I believe. >> All right. He's going to do >> at the end. Sorry for all powerliffters. Get out of the way.
So, I'm okay with that. I'm okay with the memo. I'm okay with the sentence. All three are viable options. >> I think I think it's kind of both. I think it's kind of having that little sentence in there about, you know, the body having the authority. that yeah that phrase and then um and then just sending a little heads up to the whoever's saying >> I think I think the worst case scenario is like hey someone's gonna go out there and play soccer from 2 to 3 in the morning >> and um that's right that's right like you know kind of kind of that and is that something >> and we have sound >> noise >> because I don't think we have anything similar. I think everything else like I said is under the jurisdiction already either of the towns or of the schools. Um where this is a private establishment.
>> Uh good evening everyone. Um it is my pleasure to um present to the board of education yet another or a couple of state championships uh from Stack High School in esports. Just to give you a very brief history because Stag High School is the state powerhouse in esports. Um, in the past five years, Stag High School has brought home eight state championships and two runners up in four different events. Um, and this year, um, we have two state championships that were, um, presenting you with both the Madden State Championship with Ryan McNelte, who is a twotime state champion in Madden, couldn't be here today. Um, and then also our Super Smash Brothers uh, uh, crew. um uh also um state champions this year. So, I'm going to hand the mic over um to Jonathan McGriel, our illustrious coach, um to share a little bit about this amazing team.
Um so if if there is such an authority then we'll have it in there that they must be consulted. If there's not well there isn't. >> Is there any precedent in the town? >> That's what I'm trying to think of. Not that I can think of. >> The last thing would have been the school. >> I mean generally the way it works somebody calls somebody calls the police to complain and it gets addressed. >> Yeah. But we don't control that. We, the planning board, don't sit here saying to businesses when they should turn their lights off. >> Yeah. >> And they had a they had a note in here of us about the different heights of the lights. I I had no problem with >> the the heights being >> Let them decide that. >> Yeah. To be best for this to be best for the field.
All right. Hey guys. Uh so, we've been here before, uh but this time with fury uh because this crew right here last year sectionals got rocked. Uh we got sent home fast actually uh which was a learning experience and it really uh was the flint and the ignition to the flame that was this year. Uh true dominance. Uh they had the hardest sectionals in the state that was a hands down um I would say unanimous like decision among uh all coaches that Andrew was just a fierce team. Manuka, TF South. We had four strong state contenders all within the same sectionals to which only two can pass on to state. Um, it could a win in any direction truly. Uh, the bracket rolled at sectionals and lo and behold, Andrew may have some arguments against it, but I would say that we had the hardest sectionals bracket just just right away.
I'm >> It's not like they're going 100 foot pole. >> That's right. You know, a difference of five feet for if I didn't make a difference. >> 20 or 25 feet. So, so did that go in that little >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. I'm I'm good with that. >> Okay. >> Any other changes? I can make a motion. >> Um, >> I did take Deepa's name off because she's not here tonight. So, >> I don't think consequences. [laughter] >> Somebody's got a motion. Oh jeez. I think that's all [clears throat] I had. I guess there's all you got. >> I'll make a motion to I'll make a motion to approve the decision with the changes discussed today. >> Does anybody second that? >> I'll second. [laughter] >> You've been waiting to do that. Great job. >> Waiting for years. And a roll call. >> Roll call vote.
We had to just go through the gauntlet. And they did. They did their homework. They did their research. Uh and I would say I don't know countless hours, countless nights, uh just making sure the matchups look good. Okay, if they open up with uh their pit, how do we uh counter with our gaming watch? Like the number of uh maps that you can I think of like just the classic like uh all the different yarns on a on a on a on a wall of just how many different routes you could possibly plan for. and uh they found the the the secret and we hit it. Um we took a loss and uh we did end up winning it giving us a pretty decent seed but is still pretty rough state as well. Um but just by the kind of calmer, relaxed, cooler, composed nature of the squad.
>> Anna Tesmanitzki. I >> Oh, uh, Trisha Kendall. I >> got I >> No. Okay. So, Paul Montino. I >> There you go. >> Did we close? >> That's right. We Your support is truly appreciated. >> I don't think we've closed this. >> We did not close it. >> No. Can we close it? Can we vote to close? >> Yeah. So, okay. We're going to have to >> close the public record. Yeah. >> Okay. So, make a new motion, Anna. I'll make a motion to close the public record on 240 260 Pleasant Street site plan review. >> I'll second that. >> Roll call vote. >> Anna I. >> Trisha Kendall. I >> got to your eye. >> And Paul Montino. I >> Okay. >> Why don't you go first? >> Now what? >> Now you can go to the next one. >> I don't know.
We flew a little under the radar, but uh you could you could almost tell that as the hours went on at state say 8:00 it's like oh maybe maybe SAGS wash. We don't know yet. They they had their winning squad two years ago and then all of a sudden like 10:00 rolls around, 11:00 rolls around, 12:00 rolls around. You hear all these pockets of kids just saying, "Okay, wait, we really need to pay attention to this." And sure enough, they are the only team that to have won a state of all our four team state wins um to win a state championship without even taking a single loss. Uh so this is and that's a serious accomplishment that you guys seriously earned. So uh this team has been a it's been a really fun narrative. You know, there's always narratives when it comes to competition and uh this one I've been particularly attached to.
I'm uh I'm used to going last so I was waiting to type myself on the end and then but then Paul will be at the very end. So anyway, but now we need shouldn't if we shouldn't should we have the motion now to >> approve it? I think >> to approve it. So we need to we need to reapprove. >> What are we reapproving? >> Well, we did it out of order. So we should probably >> This is a motion to reapprove. [laughter] This is a motion to reapprove the decision with the changes discussed. >> Yes. Right. >> And the memo to the select board. >> Second. Roll call vote. >> Anna Tesmaniski I. Trisha >> Kendall I. >> All right. And then do we need to close the record again? >> No. >> Okay. Great. >> Because we >> I'll just repeat this as >> we've done that a few times before.
So, uh we're honored to be here and they are truly a squad to be um feared. >> Um and who will be back next year? >> All of us. >> Okay. All right. Well, then we'll see. >> Can we get a quick quick name run? >> Yeah. I'm >> Well, you you guys aren't like first name famous. Give us like >> they're actually brothers. >> I was sorry. >> Congratulations, guys. I saw Mr. Olson recruiting a couple Andrew kids. I just want to tell you that the transfer request will not be granted. You got to keep separate. But congratulations. I just want to just add in relation to Andrew. Um, one of the coolest matches that I saw um at Evergreen Park High School was um watching Mario Part Andrew and Stag. I mean, and and like wild like there was a lot yelling not at each other, >> right?
You forget to close because we usually we wait until the public we close the public hearing at the very last. >> Great. >> Because we like to discuss the last minute. >> It's going to get edited and posted. >> That's right. That'll make it all sound pretty. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, I guess >> I guess we're moving on. >> Moving on. >> All right. So, now we're getting to the other topics of the meeting. So, we got the release balance of 53G account to YMCA. Vote to approve on the agenda. >> I'm not sure what >> I don't remember what that is, frankly. So, you should have um a memo in your packet from I'm so sorry I'm looking for her name because it's not anybody I've worked with at the YMCA, a representative from the YMCA um who is requesting just the release of the remaining of the 53G account.
Um but it was just the coolest thing to see within the district, right? And after it was done with, right, it was all handshakes. I mean really kind of a district 230 family and even in there they're in there talking with each other and everything. So it's just a a really cool thing to see within the district, you know, such powerhouses like that, but yet clearly being friends or at least friendly frenemies. >> I I loved seeing your faces. The pride when you were talking just says it all at the hard work that you put into this and the enjoyment that you're having with this. So we will see you next year as well. >> So thank you. >> Right on. THINK we've got some more uh heavy lifters coming up. Right. >> We do. All right. Strength. If I can bring coach Dich and our so obviously you have seen our powerlifting teams here before um and uh this this year our women's team was exceptional um this year placing second as a team in state um and we also had let's See, we had uh a second pl two two seconds or one >> Two second place and one individual um champion.
And technically, the planning board is supposed to release those funds, vote to release those funds. So, as of this time, the peer review has been completed. Mike Carter has no more time left. He's been paid up to date and the only remaining funds left in the account. Um, is that balance? Let me pull up the exact amount. >> Jasmine, is that was that amount that was for like third party reviews and stuff? Can you explain what that G what that account is for? >> So that 53g is just the account that we set up. It's the revolving account for peer review. So every time a project comes in that needs peer review, we reach out to the peer reviewer, ask them for a quote, we reach out to the applicant, they give us that funding, it goes in this revolving account, and that's where we pay peer review out of.
Um over the course of the years, the last couple of years, they've been coming in third. Now they're in second. So, I'm feeling really good about where this these guys are going, these women are going. Um so, I'm going to hand it over to Coach Deutsch um to share a little bit about the team. Um, hi everyone. Um, I'm Coach Danielle Deutsch. Um, I want to apologize on behalf of Coach Brian Buglio who really wanted to be here um to recognize these amazing athletes. Um, whoever put us after Samberg. It's always a tough act to follow. Um, I know I'm wearing yellow and blue, but my heart is really with the Chargers. Um, we did beat Samberg though at our regionals. I do want to point that out that these ladies did beat them at regionals. Um, but no, second place at state is an amazing accomplishment.
So once the project is complete, we release those funds back to the applicant. They technically have to request it, and you have to vote for it. Um, but it's it has been recommended to be released because they they have finished their review. A motion to >> release the remaining balance of the 53G account for the Metro West YMCA. >> I'll second it. >> Take a roll call. >> Anna Tesmaniski I. >> Trisha Kendall I. >> Scott. >> Paul Montasino. I >> All right. >> That's off the list. So now we get to the planning board task list. Are we going to wait for a future meeting on this or tonight? >> I don't have >> There is a task list on this. >> You do have an update? >> No, I do not have an updated task. >> Sounds like we're not doing it today.
And those unfamiliar with the association, um, we're a separate entity in terms of the IHSA. So, it's the IHSPLA, which is the Illinois High School Powerlifting Association. And I've been a part of it since 2019. And since then, it's grown so much that they've actually had to split the state competition from a 1A to a 2A. um instead of all being together. So, we were part of the 1A state competition um which just shows the growth and how quickly this sport is growing, especially at the female level. Um and to see these athletes do what they do is amazing. Who's ever been able to come to one of our events knows that it's so special. Um it's unlike cheer, which I also coach where you're like, "Oh, I hope like there's somebody that touched touches down on tumbling or something like that." you're always rooting for everyone who's competing and it's an amazing thing to watch, an amazing thing to be a part of.
>> Well, there is tonight. Actually, it is right in front of the number one. But, um, actually, the only thing I would I'm kind of just curious about if we do have a minute um is uh Jasmine, you had mentioned one time um fairly recently, but about potentially there being um grants available to help us reook at our bylaws. You used a term about >> recotification. >> Recod cot cottification. >> Yes. >> Um and you probably haven't had any opportunity to look into that, but is that something that that that seems to me like a really good idea to get some outside help in going through our bylaws and and uh >> I'm certainly still looking for grant funding that's available for that. The issue is a lot of it is a reimburseable grant, so you need to have the funding upfront. Okay. So, it was something that I kind of needed to wait to see what our funding was going to be for the fiscal year before I could really start applying for things.
Um, and for some of these athletes I've got to watch from their very first year like Vicki Kenobko who has been an athlete of mine since her freshman year. Um, she ended up earning second for the second year in a row in her weight class which is an amazing accomplishment. Um, she's also an amazing person. and I always tell her mom that I wish if my daughters end up anything like her then I'll I've done something right. Um so that's just she always tugs on my heart. Um and then we also had Alexis who placed first in the 123 weight class which was another amazing accomplishment. It was a pretty deep weight class in terms of the competition. So to place that the first year out is awesome. Um me yes and Mina Lara also placed second. She's not here um tonight. But again, all of these ladies standing up here, we wouldn't have gotten the score that we got to play second without each and every one of them.
So, now is the time that we can actually start putting out RFRS and things like that for um people to give us quotes because you need to know exactly how much it's going to cost when you apply for the grant. You need to know pretty much what you're asking for. So, we're at the point now that we could start applying for those. And recodification is is they don't they don't change anything substantive in the bylaw. They're not adding anything new, but they're just making it cohesive. So, we're using the same verbiage in front of every section and having all the numbers the same and making sure that sections that are referenced are still relevant and that they haven't been changed or updated or removed. And it just makes the document much more cohesive and easier to read. But if you want to change make substantial changes, that would be a different process.
