>> Member Kazard. >> Uh in addition to welcoming Mo to the board, I just uh want to say how grateful we are for all the applications that we got for that vacancy. um to see that we have so many people interested in serving our community and serving our school district. It's uh inspiring and so we appreciate everyone that um made the effort and especially the finalists that we brought in to interview. Um even though you didn't get appointed um it's it's great to see that much interest in our communities. So thanks to those people. >> Member Hermad. >> So thanks for the welcomes and I appreciate being here. Uh being appointed in May really was like baptism by fire a little bit. It was kind of a lot going on, but honestly, everyone was so helpful and supportive. I really appreciate every single one of you reaching out and providing any sort of uh help and assistance in any way that I needed.
So, that was really helpful. Um, also, I noticed in the first month, obviously being May with a lot going on, ju just how how much we appreciate what the administration and staff does, um, especially during graduation. I think that goes underappreciated too often. So, I just want to say thank you for that as well. >> And I want to say thank you. I also um in addition to the other events, I did the trifecta and got to see all three school plays, Matilda, Mean Girls, and Mama Mia. And each one was outstanding. And as much as we try to attend events that could that could be all in all consuming because there's something going on every night. So when I see the building principles here and know when you're talking about going to see the Mario Kart competition and the and your game that you give a lot of yourselves all of our staff and administration at every level beyond the clock you put in you bleed black and gold blue and gold and orange and blue.
So thank you and every day it's proud to serve as president. So >> all right with that being said we have monthly calendar of events that's informational. So next, if I could have I will read this. I move to enter into executive session to consider information regarding the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of a specific employee or legal council for the public body. to discuss student disciplinary cases, to discuss matters relating to placement of individual students in special education programs, and to consider other matters relating to individual students. To discuss collective negotiating matters or deliberating concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees and to discuss pending or probable litigation against, affecting, or on behalf of the public body. >> Second. >> Okay. >> Well, okay. I mean, she's not supposed to make a motion as the president. >> Well, she can't.
No, she can still make a motion. >> I've done it before, but if you >> No, it's fine. >> We We had the discussion a lot. >> Okay. Because I've done it. I know Chris has done it this a couple times. All right. Lisa, I want to take the role. >> Member. >> Yes. >> Member. >> Yes. >> Member D. >> Yes. >> Member Dan. >> Yes. >> Kelly. >> Yes. >> Member. >> Yes. >> Member. Yes. Okay. All right. >> I voted twice. >> You voted twice. All right. It's 8:10. Um, we are going into close session. We will come back out and vote and that will not be live. >> And I will we will check on that to make sure. >> No, I thought the president

So again, please remain seated during the ceremony and take any photography or video from your seat. Out of respect for every graduate, we ask that you keep celebrations brief and refrain from loud cheering during the roll call of names. Start recording. >> Start recording. >> I think it's the second one recording. >> And maybe it's video. >> Yeah. All right. You wanted a 30? >> No, 60. We needed 60. >> Wait, maybe it's not video hour. No, it's like recording settings. >> Try the first menu. >> Camera set. No, it should be recording setting. >> Yeah. >> Maybe you can't change that during record. Like while you're recording. >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to start recording. >> Yeah. Right there. Recording format. Sweet up there. >> No. Yeah, right there. And you need to bring it up to 120 to >> Yeah, it's just a lot smoother. I don't know. Something looked off. So, this [snorts] needs to go to I don't know where. Why is it at 250? Can you bring it back down here? >> What do you want it at? >> 125 is fine.
And lastly, please silence all cell phones and electronic devices to avoid disruptions. Your cooperation is deeply appreciated by the class of 2026 and helps make this evening even more memorable for everyone. So, thank you. And now, for the final time, Mr. Westman directing before he retires the processional. Please begin the processional. Thank you. Hallelujah. Thank you. Hallelujah. down 24 down. Good evening and welcome family members, friends, and class of 2026 graduates to this special evening. My name is Emry Clark and I am the proud principal of Avon High School. Just kidding. However, I did get the opportunity and the honor to serve as the Avon High School 2025 2026 student body president. This role has taught me so much and I want to express how amazing it was to see the accomplishments of all of my peers over the past four years. I was so proud to have the opportunity and I'm endlessly grateful.
Please stand if you are able for the pledge of allegiance. Gentlemen, remove your caps. Those in uniform, please run under the military salute. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Now for the moment of silence. Thank you. Please remain standing and bow your heads and close your eyes for a quick prayer. Lord, I praise you for the plan that you have had to get us here. I thank you for the family members and teachers and coaches and lunchladies and custodians and staff and how they have impacted us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually along the way. And oh wow, what a privilege it was to be in school. And we were blessed to have and be in this building and learn freely. I pray that you would give us peace, direction, provision, and fellowship along our way.
>> I'll grab it. one yet one more time. Here we go. >> I love that. >> Oh, the place is the best. Sorry. Keep it. Keep it. Keep it up. >> Sorry. Nick, are you recording it? >> Yep. >> You are. >> Okay, we're good. I'll go back. >> And bring it in. >> All right. Good. Head coaches, please. Yes. What you guys want to do? Let's try the other way. >> Yeah. Oh, there's a pistol. Close [snorts] enough. >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. >> Chuck. >> Good. Good afternoon, high school softball fans, and welcome to Ashlin High for today's MIAA preliminary playoff round matchup between the visiting Walpole High School Warriors who come in at a 10-9 record and your Ashland High School clockers. I'm Michael Kyra and I'm joined today by longtime WACA television broadcaster George Tubin. And we will be joined shortly by Jacob Padulla who will indeed take over for playbyplay when he arrives.
I now ask all graduates who are serving, have served or plan to serve to please come join. Sorry, the graduates who plan to serve, please come forward to the stage. And I ask all people who have served, are serving, or plan to serve to please stand in the audience. Now for the last time. Good evening Avon.
And though none of us are perfect and we have made mistakes along the way, it is all part of your plan. And Jesus, I ask that you put a hedge of protection over us when we leave this room. And all the honor and glory and praise to you, Lord. Amen. Thank you. You may be seated.
But George, this is this is set up to be a really great game as the Clockers have not played in the playoffs since before 2011. um actually since 2011 and they really are excited to to get their for first ever playoff matchup uh here against Wayland. >> Yeah, the team is excited. I think the whole town is excited to see the girls uh playing so well this year. I mean, they they just they're doing um exceptionally um and and it's a team that has um an array of uh uh you know, girls from different classes, you know, from freshman to seniors. um and they've just been uh demolishing it. They, you know, finished number I think number 28 in the MIA standings. And the way MIA works is that if you finish outside of the top 32, but you have a 500 record or better, you're able to have a playin team, a playin game.
Please stand for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Thank you. You may be seated. Should I Good evening graduates, family, and friends. My name is Ishni Gatra and it is an honor to welcome you to the class of 2026 graduation ceremony. When I started to write this speech, it allowed me to reflect on our time here. I'm sure we've all had to learn the hard way to not stop in the middle of the hallway or somehow, no matter how many signs were put up, having to constantly relearn the hallways every single year. But today, we close that chapter. In just a few hours, our lives will begin to drift into new and different hallways. Some will start school again.
Good evening everyone. My name is Marshall Gerber and as senior class president, it is my honor to welcome you to Bluffton High School's class of 2026 graduation ceremony. Thank you all for taking the time to be here tonight and for supporting us as we celebrate this important milestone in our lives. First, I would like to thank the families and friends. Behind every graduate sitting here tonight is a group of people who sacrificed time, energy, and love to help us reach this moment. Whether it was early mornings, long nights, encouragement after failure, or celebrating our successes, your support carried us farther than you know. I also want to thank the teachers, staff, coaches, and members of the school board who challenged us to become better students and better people. You taught us lessons far beyond the classroom. You gave us opportunities to grow, pushed us when we doubted ourselves, and helped create memories that we will carry long after tonight.
And um you know, those teams when they play in, they'll play with, you know, starting with uh number 32, then 31, then and so forth. And you know, there were enough teams that had a 500 record or better that Ashlin now uh has to has to be involved with a playin game even though they finished in the top 32. Um but I I think they played this team earlier in the year and then they they went by a run, Mike. >> Yeah. So this is definitely a familiar foe for the Clockers today. Uh they did play Wayland earlier in the season. I believe it was their third full game, their fourth game, fourth scheduled game. Um, and the Clockers were able to come out on top five to four on a walk-off hit by Quinn Herurder. That game was a a battle all the way until the bottom of the seventh.
Some will serve in the armed forces. And some are joining the workforce. So just like every cheesy Disney movie ends, please take a moment and look to the person on the right and the person on the left. Because tomorrow, these hallways will just be memories. These moments will turn into stories. And these faces will only live in photographs. But right now, this isn't a memory. This is happening. Thus, I can proudly say for the next 90 minutes and for one of the very last times a phrase you know all too well. We are Avon. We are one. Thank you. Good evening graduates, staff, and family. My name is Andrew Enochi, and I'm honored to have served on student government executive board. from achievements such as the Avon marching band Black and Gold winning back-to-back state and national championship titles, Avon speech and debate winning their third consecutive 3A state championship.
As graduates, we often think about the big moments, championships, dances, pep rallies, or finally walking across the stage and receiving our diplomas. But I think what truly shaped us were the smaller moments in between. The conversations in the hallways, the laughter during class, the nervousness be before presentations or speeches like this one, and the friendships built over years spent together. Those moments slowly turned classmates into family. School has not always been easy. Every person here has faced challenges that others may never fully understand. There were moments where we questioned ourselves, struggled to keep growing, or felt uncertain about the future. But tonight proved something important. We made it through everything, and we did it together. The struggles did not define us, but our perseverance did. As we move into the next chapter of our lives, many of us will head in different directions. Some will attend college.
And Wayland got in interesting fashion. So Wayland went into last weekend uh sitting at 9 and I'm sorry, sitting at uh a I believe an 8 and 10 or 8 and N record. An 8-9 record. and they had a double header against Win Classical uh finishing up a game that had been canceled from earlier and they they did their job. Whan did their job to get themselves in the playoff to finish above 500. So they come and they and they face Ashland today and in what is sure to be a excellent matchup. Uh the clockers will have their work cut out for them, but if they get their bats rolling, they can compete with just about anybody. >> I 100% agree. I know Mike, maybe you want to talk a little bit about the pitching situation in today's game. Yeah. So, obviously we have touched on this in in games uh that we've done the last couple of days, but starting pitcher uh newly named Tri Valley League honorable mention all-star Bella Domestico who has carried the load for the Clockers throughout the year is unavailable today due to injury.
Our state our media team consisting of yearbook newspaper and broadcasting winning 22 national awards and 16 state awards over the last four years. The robotics team qualifying for the world championships for the first time in 10 years. And our boys tennis team making it to state finals for the first time in our school's history. It's safe to say that the class of 2026 is one of the most accomplished ones yet. However, what we often forget amidst the amidst amidst the good are the struggles that we face to reach our goals. We like to forget those parts of our stories, but they're often some of the most formative experiences we'll ever have. Look at our building for example. For it to be able to accommodate a more accommodate more students, it had to go through some extreme changes during our four years. Dividers cut our walkways in half as it was making room for expansion.
