Kingsman, I can get back to you. You know, when I was at a seminar uh a couple of weeks back, you know, that was mentioned. I don't have that data right now, but like I can provide that to you, you know, so that'll be easy, you know, we can pull that and send it to the board. >> Great. Thanks. I didn't even know that that there were reported cases of uh alpha ga in Massachusetts. >> There are so you know, so uh but I will get you that data, you know. So um I I don't have the number again you know but like uh but there are there were reported cases you know so I guess that that's the reason that they have made it reportable you know just to keep a keep account and track of it. >> Great thanks. >> Thank you. Anybody else?
So, I'll leave it at um 70 70. >> Okay. Okay. Thank you. >> Um L just quick before we move on back to the calendar of events. Uh we highlighted the high school graduation and intermediate school. The middle school is on the 17th. >> Oh, did I get the wrong date? >> No, no, no, no. You just >> I'm sorry. Thank you. >> Um >> no Cherry Brook promotion. >> So I'll let Mr. Amry talk about that since he's here because it was they don't have a promotion ceremony, but I'll explain. Mr. Emry, you want to explain what sheriff does? This >> we don't have a promotion, but we have a grade three grade and then a PTO sponsored grade three. >> Okay. Okay. So, that's not >> No. Okay. >> And I just want to let people know there was a little confusion on the dates.

March March employees of the month, the district George Gross.
I know that that is super daboo and I don't want to. Why? Because I think it's really important that you guys come up here or up there and that's where you get to say it and answer it to us. [snorts] And so, you know, questions that come at board meetings that we respond and we have to be prepared because that's our job, right? And how we can go through it and and at the same time we also know that if a question comes up that we have to say we'll get back to you, then we get back to you and we get it back to you in status. >> President W. >> Um, board member Van Hooked did mention consent agenda items and it is really helpful. It is especially if you're we're going to do it all pass vote on that. that is helpful to get information ahead of time.
So, we do see an increase in behaviors and the four weeks of the pause challenge have proven to be a good um a good thing to implement. We also have had some um spirit Fridays which have been fun. Um we have field day this Friday and activity day which is uh teachers have created activities and kids get to choose like I think it's three activities to go to so they rotate and um like the sixth grade teacher will do uh water rockets outside. Um, you can choose to do yoga with a certain teacher or I I did Zumba one year. That was crazy because doing Zumba for almost two hours was a long time. Um, but the kids rotate and they get to choose and that's really fun. Um, and we also do what's called a step up. um where kids will go to their next year teacher for the a like for 20 minutes or so and um the next year teacher will give them a little bit of a highlight of what's to come and get to ask questions and see the classroom which is always a good um like a little moment in time for them to think about over the summer.
>> No. Okay. Next thing on our agenda is I need an approval I mean a motion to approve the consent agenda which is to review and approve the fiscal year 2026 year-to- date budget reports and the meeting minutes from May 5th. Do I have a motion? >> So moved. >> I will second. Um roll call vote. Uh Dave >> I. >> Barbara >> I. >> Jay >> I. and I'm an I. Um, next thing on our agenda is the reorganization of the board. Um, I don't know. >> Sorry. Go ahead, Jay. >> Oh, no. I was just going to say, is that another item that we might want to table for uh when Maurice is available >> or when all five of us are available? >> Sure. >> Absolutely. I would just need a motion. I will make such a motion. >> Okay. So we have a motion to um table the reorganization of board till our next meeting.
So, it it was first put on June 15th, which is the same night as CIS, but Mr. Amry works with his PTO and they're doing it next Monday. So, >> perfect. >> Something we do for kindergarten and third grade. Each of those sections have celebrations of learning. Yeah. >> Which is another That's correct. I'm sorry to hear you. >> Perfect. Thank you. >> Okay. Any other questions, comments? Thank you for that. And um let's move on to the superintendent's announcements. Super. Thank you, Mr. Daniels. It's good to see everyone tonight. And those of you that are joining online and for those of you that will watch recording, the the the life of the superintendent of schools, as I've said to some of you, is at events almost like every night for the past couple weeks and it will continue. But it it's such an honor to be last week at the the fourth grade concert at Ken Intermediate School, able to attend the junior and senior awards last week which was just a wonderful event and looking forward to Thursday night, the senior scholarship evening where our community partners come together and honor our senior class with a tremendous amount of money.

His efforts exemplify excellence and make him a valued asset to our district. Congratulations, GEORGE. >> [applause] >> WELL DESERVED. WELL DESERVED. >> [applause] >> OKAY, NEXT UP WE HAVE OUR MARCH Employee of the Month for Elementary, WHICH IS EDWIN PAGáN. >> [cheering] >> CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. EDWIN PAGáN FOR BEING for being recognized as an elementary Employee of the Month.
Again, I'm not against this. I just don't like the push that I have I'm doing something wrong. Honestly, I feel that I'm being very proactive. I I have asked questions in the past via email to Christine. She's answered them. So, I I really do like the I'm fine with the format that we're at. I'm just kind of stating how I was kind of feeling about things and how sometimes those questions are I mean there's quite a bit and so but I I do utilize that service or you know um so it's I'm I'm kind of fine where we're at. I just I don't like to be just basically um controlled in a way I guess is how I could put it. Thank you. Um I think for clarity and again so we can make some sort of movement uh here then it sounds like Miss Van Hook your concerns are already being met.
Um and just to give a little bit of um a shout out to the staff and the students, our our pursuit of productive struggle um is really proving to be um productive. Ah I didn't mean to do that but um the teachers are emailing me, texting me, coming to my office saying have you looked at so and so's data? Have you looked at their math data? Have you looked at their reading data? Kids are making um huge jumps and gains in their data and the students um the staff are sharing it with the students and the students are feeling really great and proud of that. Um so our intentions are proving to be um what's the word? Profitable. not profitable, productive, I don't know. Um, so it's really it's giving um all of us a lot of hope that what we're doing is working because as a former special ed teacher, it is for some kids, it's really hard to move that needle.
>> Second. Uh all in favor Dave >> I. >> Barbara >> I. >> Jay >> I. >> And I'm an I. Perfect. Great. Um next thing is our next meeting date is going to be June 16th. Um Laura, can you um uh Laura or Raj, can you just send out an email to everybody um and make sure that see if they will be available for that meeting because we have two agenda items where we would need a full >> a full board. Yep, >> we will do that. Chief, me and Laura will do that, you know. Thank you. >> That'll be great. Does anybody have any new business or old business they would like to discuss? >> Uh just old business. So I know we're not talking about crowd tonight. It's not on the agenda, but I just wanted to ask that everybody read the documents that I sent out, which are a number of different things, but it's the the draft regulation, the red line version, um a summary.
Um, I I would share with you if you haven't been to that event that that's truly a a special evening. Um, and I I put that up there with um a graduation exercise relative to seeing the community come together and provide kin high school children with the financial um resources that they will use later in their life. It's just a wonderful thing. So, I publicly thank them. The the other thing that has really been taking a lot of time, as many of you know, is I've been spending a lot of time analyzing our budget and where we are relative to the reductions. And as I said at finance this morning, the the reductions that you approved at at our last meeting are are the same reductions that were sent um to the board of finance. and and we'll see how the the referendum uh plays out today and and if the the the team needs to come back to the board of ed um in the next week or two, we're we're prepared um to do so.

Edwin's hard work, positive attitude, and genuine care make him truly deserving of this recognition. Round of APPLAUSE FOR EDWIN. >> [applause] >> OUR OUR RECIPIENT FOR ELEMENTARY MARCH ELEMENTARY UH employee of the month is Mohammed ABDEL KARIM. CONGRATULATIONS. CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. MOHAMMED ABDEL Karim for being recognized as elementary employee of the month.
Like I don't I the idea that we aren't fulfilling this policy does seem disingenuous in that I at least participate in my meetings whenever I have a meeting whether that's with Mr. lots onheiser and or other folks I've asked to come in for different things so I can understand staff because I didn't know it ahead of time and then that helps me ask questions in here or helps me understand what's going on. Again, any question that I have had that is information pertinent to an agenda item that's not in the agenda item, information that is collected already to begin with has always been shared with the board no matter how that question has come in.
And this was our hope to move the needle for some of our kids. and it is proving to be working. So, that's exciting. >> Thank you, Mickey. You left out one of the fun days that I just have to say cuz I got to see it. But the fifth grade earned like worked their butts off and earned a survivor day. Um, which is the first time that this fifth grade teacher has ever done it. But it was not just fun, it was like amazing to watch how the kids supported each other through really hard challenges that a bunch of ridiculous dads put together that like kids were struggling and they did not none of that those kids let each other fail. Um yeah, it was pretty outstanding to see. So that up. Yeah, that was awesome. It was really awesome. They had to do a baby puzzle with a blindfold on >> and someone had to tell them how to do it.
All these things are updated since the last time you saw them. And then a couple other things that I thought might be helpful, you know, if this were to go through maybe something that a vendor could could hold in the in their shop and like a checklist type of thing. Um not not high priority, but just um whatever. But if any if everybody could just come prepared with your questions and in the meantime, I'm going to be I've met with a few people since we last met. I'll tell you about those conversations and I'm going to be meeting with a couple of other um uh people that that I think will be helpful for trying to formulate this in the best way. So that's all. >> All right. Great. Uh well, nothing else. Um I will look for a motion to adjurnn. >> I move to adjurnn.
What I will also say is probably my highlight today was being able to meet with Lucas, Jonathan, and um Finley to really and Kira to do the students at the center and just the the dynamics of the the four of us, five of us with Kira had today and creating that video. It was fun for me to be able to say what a highlight is. Um that that was truly a highlight and I also um welcomed Finley. Finley, I've heard that it has been your dream to be a student board of education representatives. So that that came true actually um today with one of her first activities that she was able to do. And um just walking around the high school today in the middle school and spending some time with um th those three students make it a joy to be your superintendent. We have a lot that is going to be happening the next two weeks.

Justin Louie. >> [cheering and applause] >> Congratulations to Mr. Justin Louie on being recognized as middle school employee of the month. Justin is recognized for his exceptional dedication to providing students at Clifton with a high-quality music education at Woodrow Wilson Middle School.
So I don't really know then what the point of this conversation is in that if your goal is to ensure that any questions that we are having that pertain to a specific thing where that information is not already presented to us and has to be answered get shared or to Miss German's point and again I apologize to the admin for the sheer volume of some of these questions sometimes or how difficult can be whatever that is done that's part of our process that's part of this and we're here doing it. This is year four. No, you've done it longer than that, but putting it posting it's longer. Posting it's year four, whatever that is. We've been doing it for a few years now. So, it doesn't feel like there needs to be any changes then to what it is that we currently have, unless there is some other change that somebody wishes to propose because it seems as if we're honoring that protocol already.
So that was really, really fun to watch. And the sixth grade's going to Camp Massasoya tomorrow, which is like ropes courses and working together and they usually have a really good time. So that's good. Um, okay. Amazing. Student handbook. I know this was with the note at the top that it's still being updated. Dr. Z or Mickey, did I have a couple questions, but did either of you want to highlight anything in here for us? >> No. >> Um, really my only question and request in your uh updates is to please make sure that the cameras get added in there. I just noticed they're not. Um, and I imagine that's on your list, but I don't want to let that get lost because that needs to get in there. >> Is there anything else that's already changed that folks should know about? >> Usually handbook review starts around this time.
