Um, and that process uh is >> what's what are the dates? >> I'm gonna give that to you right now. I had it I was going to do it under um >> I'm out of town. That's >> Yeah, it's the um the interviews will be Tuesday, June 16th from 4 to 7. Uh and Wednesday, June 17th from 4:00 to 7:00. Those are the two dates that uh Miss St. Kerr and uh Mr. Rean will be running the the search from our standpoint. Uh, and for the director of student services, Miss Alman and Miss Lash Chappelle will be running the searches. Uh, like I said, they're running concurrently. Um, >> so 16th and 17th starting at 4, >> correct? And they'll most likely be here at the high school. Um, if we can get the air conditioning working. >> So the 16th will will it be will they overlap with the director of student services?
Um I believe in that time um prior to the eligibility um the board hosted um a 40B forum. Um in that case, I think if I recall correctly, it was attorney HDY that attended that. Okay. Um, so there was sort of a uh a forum for discussing kind of some of the things that we're talking about tonight even. Um, and at one point there was a discussion about an advisory group. Um, I don't know all the details. This was before my involvement. Um, but that was uh just before the application was filed. Um, and so after the application was filed um there were a number of select board meetings where this was just on the agenda as a status update. I believe. Um and then the zoning board hearing, you know, began in earnest, you know, shortly after that. And so going to the top of that page, and then if you flip back one page, you'll see all the various meetings of the zoning board um all the way up until the decision issued on January 16th.
Um, and that process uh is >> what's what are the dates? >> I'm going to give that to you right now. I had it I was going to do it under um >> I'm out of town. That's >> Yeah, it's the um the interviews will be Tuesday, June 16th from 4:00 to 7:00. Uh and Wednesday, June 17th from 4:00 to 7:00. Those are the two dates that uh Miss St. Kerr and uh Mr. Rean will be running the the search from our standpoint. Uh, and for the director of student services, Miss Alman and Miss L. Chappelle will be running the searches. Uh, like I said, they're running concurrently. Um, >> so 16th and 17th starting at 4, >> correct? And they'll most likely be here at the high school. Um, if we can get the air conditioning working. >> So the 16th will will it be will they overlap with the director of student services?
>> I second. >> Okay, all in favor? >> In favor. >> I in favor, sorry. >> Okay, so just very quick, we're not going to discuss the topics, just say these are the topics. Um definitely we are interested in the transportation digging deeper. So if we can schedule with the transportation director. Um I think there's also interest in just a deeper discussion on the bidding process, where to go to find information, how to standardize things and make it as easy as possible for everyone in the future. Um any other topics? >> Well, next month will be July. >> Mhm. >> So >> yeah. >> Maybe a budget update? >> Well, we're likely going to be in June though for the next >> This is our last one with Roland. >> Well, but so our next meet so our next warrants meeting might be beginning of July.
Yeah, you know, hiring a recent graduate who is currently attending GCC. >> Yes, like that. >> That seems perfect to me uh for for this kind of a position. A young person who um understands what is going to drive engagement um but who can also spell. That would be good. Um >> yes. Yes, it is. >> You can find both. Yeah, we're not doing well with spelling, >> Jeff. I like that. >> Reading, writing, those things. Okay. All right. So, maybe the first thing is to ask Ian what he thinks. >> I can do that and then and Roland maybe can get involved with that. >> Yeah, such a part-time position could fall under the IT department and >> uh seems like it could work. >> Uh could definitely save money there. I would think so because that's a lot of money. >> That's a lot.
So now I know why when we get up to the middle school and high school, our students sound so good uh because they just do a phenomenal job at Celia. So hats off to uh our kindergarten students and families for that that wonderful display of music. It was joy. Um equally, I just want to I do want to share it is important uh there were many celebrations this week honoring students who are just reaching high achievement uh here. high school. And uh it's just so great to see number one, the amount of community involvement and funding uh that this community puts forward to support our students to be able to make uh choices after high school uh in supporting them to be able to do so uh with a lot of finances. I think, you know, a couple hundred,000 was given out the other night here at the high school and that didn't even include uh what the universities were offering.
Do you know it just seems like that area is ripe for more home develop like you were saying like and do you know what that process but like did they do the parallel zoning change? Do you know? >> I I'm not I'm familiar with the property. I know the property um but I'm not sure familiar if it was uh in the general plan already as residential or they went and pursued a general plan amendment and we can find that out for you. >> Okay. I'm just curious from when we're kind of doing use cases of time and how long something takes or how many hurdles to go through. I know that took a long time though that was a long time coming because we were hearing about it for a very long time but I wasn't sure from a permitting and uh zoning. So, uh, anecdotally, um, it is significantly, uh, more challenging to get a a general plan amendment, uh, on a PQP zone property than potentially other properties.
This team is something special, and I'm so lucky to be a part of it. >> Thank you. Next up is Coach Liberty, voice. Hello everyone. Before I begin, I would like to thank um all the student athletes in this room. Your commitment. You're part of an elite group. small percentage of students in schools across the country are also athletes. So, congratulations and all the best in your future. I'd also like to thank my outstanding coaching staff for the dedication, commitment, and countless hours of service to our student athletes. Rob Algieri, Frank Peduo, Keshaverie, Madam Mada, Michael Aljier, and Peter Lynch. The last four are all Clifton High School alumni. To our seniors, again, thank you for your leadership, your commitment, and your pride, which represented Clifton High School. At this time, I'd like to recognize our seniors, and we have a pretty big class. Um, I'd also like to recognize the fact that they have and have been doing this for years and years and years.
>> Different. Yeah. So director of student services will be Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th. Right. Yeah. So, we would need a separate member. And and to be honest, I I reached out to the the faculty, staff, and uh parents. And I said, "You need to commit to both. I can't have you just come for one and not hear everybody else." So, um so it's worked out pretty well. We have a really robust group so far. Um but we're we're lacking obviously in this position here, school committee member. >> So, it is just worth noting for everybody's benefit because it's an assistant superintendent's position. That's our appointment. >> So everybody on the school committee will have an opportunity to participate even if there isn't somebody who's on the That's right. the sort of at the screening part of the process as well. >> Um so is there anybody interested and available >> to commit two days 16 17 4 to 7 to participate in that process?
So some of these and I'm just going to note a couple of them because some of them uh might not be obvious in and of themselves just by the way they're written which is in kind of summary form. So obviously there were some select board meetings where it was discussed the the ZBA means that was a posted zoning board night of the public hearing. The ZBA check-ins. So those were meetings that were staff level workshop meetings that I attended. Um uh the chair of the zoning board attended um and some pe um some staff attended. So the planner attended um and occasionally other people attended uh those meetings as well. And so those were held every other week routinely so that we could discuss the communication that came in um the the sort of structure of how the zoning board hearing was going to go on the next uh occasion.
>> Yeah. So director of student services will be Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th. Right. Yeah. So, we would need a separate member. And and to be honest, I I reached out to the the faculty, staff, and uh parents. And I said, "You need to commit to both. I can't have you just come for one and not hear everybody else." Probably would be. But we could have a regular subcommittee meeting in June yet. >> Two in June? >> Well, we've been doing two. >> Okay, two in June? >> The warrants and the regular. Um will it will there be calls for a budget update either June or package them in July? >> meetings. >> Okay, so you don't think that the subcommittee would need Okay. >> And it's too early for closeout. >> Right. >> Mhm. Last year did not happen August. Or September. >> We closed in August September. The city just closed a couple weeks ago. >> Okay. >> Congratulations to them. >> So >> Most painful. >> Yeah. So another item that we do need to keep in mind is our budget calendar and producing the budget calendar for next year. Which I did last year's. I saved the file, so that could be something we figure out who's doing what on who needs because I could easily teach someone because I've made the style guide for it and everything.
That's a lot. This is something somebody should be able to do in 10 hours a month max. >> Yeah. Social media guy cut the grass at the high school or the same. H weird. >> Yeah. It's all 3,000 seems to be a magic number. >> All right. So, I will talk to Ian and talk to Roland. All right. So, dates. So, we're going to stick to Mondays at 8. Does that work for everybody? This worked. And once Zoom was taken care of, it was >> Yes. >> good. >> Um, >> Mondays at 8 are are generally good for me. Um, and then I just have to make sure that it doesn't conflict with um policy because we're also meeting on Mondays, but we've got that a week from today. and I can be the one who make sure that that doesn't conflict because I'm the one who's serving on both.
So that's just local um grants. It's just amazing uh or scholarships I should call them. It was just amazing to to to see um but also the academic achievements and how hard students uh work here at Brookfield High School to earn that. And I know it starts in in CLA and WMS as well. So it was just an amazing opportunity to see our students a couple different nights and even this evening and how hard they're working and um how their efforts are paying off. So congratulations to all them. Uh, and we're proud. Um, equally, uh, we got to see the WMS band, uh, perform this week. They actually performed right here at the high school. So, they did a phenomenal job as well, and you can tell how, uh, we are preparing our students to then come up to the next level here at the high school and just be ready to to continue to perform.
Um, and the city has a process, um, and they take applications, I believe, uh, twice a year for general plan amendments, uh, and those types of things to, um, entertain, uh, property owners intentions for changing the general plan of their property. >> That's a good point because from the time the the ranch closed to the time they decided to build single family homes, they're correct. you know, building >> uh multiple dwellings. It it didn't seem like a lot of time had passed. I mean, based on I'm I'm basing that on the the time estimates that you've shared with us, some marketing it for 2 years or a year plus. It didn't look like um the ranch conversion to a single family home took that long or or has it been I I thought it closed like in just about a year or something ago and then >> so no it's it's actually been about 3 years.
They put the student, athlete, student comes first. And I'm very proud to say that our our 17 seniors are all going to postsecary education. All 17. I'll announce the first few. Samuel Braa, Samuel Espinosa, Daniel Ramirez, Marco Rivas, and Jared Sanchez will all be going to tech and trade schools. Jean Caraval will be going to the US Marine Corps. Brian Aturama will be going to Ruters. Lucas Chen will be going to Villanova University. Garland Collins, William Patterson. Miguel Adatic, Rutgers, Simon Deiosa, Bergen Community. Wilson Estrella, Rutgers University. Justin Marshall, Bergen Community. Tariq Pescoin, Ramapo College. Oliver Quintana, Monontlair State University, Myron White, William Patterson University, and Dominic Yang Ruckers University. Despite the uphill challenges this program faced even before the opening kickoff of the season, the persistence, resilience, and determination of our student athletes prevailed. We finished the season with a record of 11 wins, six losses, and one tie.
>> I could if there's no one else. My husband travels the 17th so it's a little bit tricky but I could do it. >> Are you interested in doing it? >> Sure. Beautiful. >> They didn't want to fight for it. >> I was basically going to say, "Sh I I I know I have some people in town that work that week. I might be able to make it back. I have interest, but if you're more available, then I would rather it be somebody that can make it for sure." >> Yeah, I can. >> Okay. Then then you >> So do we have a motion to appoint as >> and then you'll send information and correct details. Okay. >> All right. So we've got a mo a motion. Is there a second? >> Second. All right. Any further discussion? All in favor? >> I.
um you know what the issues were, what have been raised, which ones have been addressed, which ones are outstanding, you know, those process questions. So obviously that's not a meeting of the zoning board. There's no quorum. It's not a public hearing, but workshops are an important part of the 4DB process because the communication and the information has to circulate and we need to decide a structure on how this is all going to proceed. So, those were sort of formal, you know, check-ins and you can see there were a lot of them um because every two weeks we were doing them for each one of the hearings on each one of the 40Bs. Um so, these are specific to 1060 Maine, but of course we discussed, you know, whatever board business was in front of them, you know, during those meetings. So, you'll also see that there were z uh select board meetings um listed in there as well.
>> I could if there's no one else. My husband travels the 17th. It's a little bit tricky but I could do it. >> Are you interested in doing it? >> Sure. Beautiful. >> Does anybody want to fight for it? >> I was basically going to say the same. I I I know I have some people in town at work that week. I might be able to make it back. I have interest. But if you're more available, then I would rather it be somebody that can make it for sure. >> Yeah, I can. >> Great. Then then you >> So do we have a motion to appoint as >> and then you'll send information and correct details. Okay. >> All right. So we've got a mo a motion. Is there a second? >> Second. Second. Very. Any further discussion? All in favor? >> I.
Well, >> So, it's not just the budget calendar, but the purpose of those meetings and who we meet with, I think we need to discuss. >> Yes. >> Because >> Sounds like budget calendar is another item. >> And the process. >> I think Yeah. Okay. So, either beginning of July it would be warrants with transportation director bids and budget calendar, or we'd have a separate June meeting transportation at transportation director bids budget calendar and then warrants. But, I think probably warrants in the summer we don't anticipate them being so heavy. I think we can probably bundle that into an early July meeting. I hate to tell you this, but yeah, I'm being too optimistic. >> The summer is when you order everything and you pray that it'll come in by before school starts from Crayolas to um the paper for the copier and I mean you that's when >> Okay, so in that case I'm thinking >> we schedule for sometime in June the subcommittee meeting on those three topics schedule based around transportation director's availability.
