And I'm a lifer now. I taught more kids about variable and fixed interest on that day. But just like shout out to Josh and Kelly and the entire >> Lauren G and Betty. >> Yeah, Lauren. Everybody, all the students who were there who helped run it. Like it's clearly a massive undertaking and >> so beneficial and just the students are so impressive. So, which I guess I'm biased because I have a senior, but um they really were and very engaged. And um also um Mr. Alberts who teaches math and investing, >> he should get a shout out because the kids who have taken that class knew all about interest. >> Nice. >> That's great. >> Thank you. >> That's awesome. >> Thanks, Marcy. >> I would echo Marcy's comments. Go through reality fair. It's always my favorite event every year to volunteer at and I'm a lifer, too.
Um I disagree with uh Joyy's take on this and um I think that our experience over the last two years shows that it has been a tremendous drain on um our time on our resources. Um and I I don't think that it's a gray area. Um I think we did initially when we were really green about um how the how the board worked and how the um 1000 series versus the 9000 um how they're differentiated. But um I'm I'm not in favor of creating a bylaw just had a quick question. What was the what is the like original intent or like regulation or background on 1312? So 1312 if you you want to pull from your packet. It basically is a way for a member of the public or parent to escalate their complaint. So an example would be if you um have an issue with your classroom teacher and you went to the um the classroom teacher handled the situation with your child, let's say, and you went to the principal and you were still not satisfied with the outcome.
Um, so I'll start with saying that. But, uh, given the these three sites, if the question is is look, if there's these three sites here, which one could potentially look look for for workforce housing? Um, I think my opinion would probably be uh from a perspective of your other two campuses being uh general plan amendment uh general plan being PQP. Um, and probably not having the ability to do an amendment there to that general plan would lead me to then say those are school district campuses that could be leased out and we're having trouble with leasing Pedmont. Maybe that would be, you know, shifting the conversation. If you are evaluating a workforce housing site, maybe that should be Piedmont given the inability to lease the property. >> Thank you so much. Are there any other last questions as well? No. Okay. And then we can continue the conversation too up here.
My MVP earned first team all county, first team only and finished the season with well over 150 saves in goal. Marley Gay. Next up, coach is boys lacrosse. ALL RIGHT. AGAIN, I WANT TO UH THANK YOU TO my coaching staff, Nick Pica, Matt me, who couldn't be here today. Um again, congratulations seniors. Uh best of luck in everything that you do going forward from here. Um we have a lot of seniors this year for boys lacrosse. Um, this season marks one of our best seasons we've had in the last six 6 to 8 years. Um, miss that going uh 10 and nine regular season 10 and 10 including playoffs. And that doesn't happen without without our 10 seniors. Roberto Miniano, Kaden Bean, Isaiah Coranza, Masimo Paluchi, Merrick Dopolski, Ryan Gallagher, Andrew Naui, Benjamin Smith, Daniel Toplack, and Lewis Duniga. You guys drove our program. You led with leadership.
I absolutely love it. Um uh what else? The There's so many end of the year events going on now, especially with those of us who have seniors, so it feels fast and furious. But um I also went to an Ashpack meeting a couple weeks ago and there's another one this evening as well too. But um one of the things that we talked about that Jim I you and you and I usually have an end of the year meeting. So we'll talk about this in more detail, but one of the things they brought up was um unified sports. Um and there are some things that are are going much better this year than they did last year. And then a few things that you know they kind of brought to u to my attention in the hopes of sharing um you know with you Jim and you know kind of broader in terms of making it um a little more in line with with how uh traditional sports run um so that our student athletes who are involved in um unified sports are treated in the same way that athletes in all other sports are treated.
I'm just saying we have it >> and it says that if the state determines that it's eligible and that there isn't a restriction that prohibits this, then that's binding on us. We don't get to sort of unpack that. >> You don't mind me jumping in? I thought for sure in our first letters to the state and some of the comments that people in there that it was brought up that it had this limitation on the property in my if I remember I mean it's been a couple years but I thought for sure if if not from our letter either from com from conservation or from a resident or something that we put our initial package to mass housing that this was an issue for this piece of property to put houses >> in our initial package. >> We were aware of that. >> Have to check, but I mean it does.

Um, you could file an official 1312 complaint. There's kind of a format you put information in that states, you know, your process. Um, and you can escalate that to the superintendent. The superintendent for the policy would decide how to proceed. So the superintendent can either take it up, meaning there would be um so they the um prop due process would be representation uh not legal necessarily, but some kind of investigation would occur on you know it doesn't state that there needs to be like a formal tribunal or anything like that. But it is an opportunity for an investigation to take place for conversations to be had for both sides to present their um their essentially to the superintendent or the superintendent can um not do anything about it. Say that that is the final that's how it's going to lie that they support the um whatever the outcome was from the from the lower you know the lower level person the for that case it would be the principal um or if it is something that the superintendent feels like the board should deal with then they would escalate it to the board.
Thank you, Dan. We know you've got to go. We appreciate you. Follow up if we have additional questions. Great. Thank you again. >> And so just for the board then um if there's more discussion that's fine. Um but we do also just want to get clarification property by property uh what you'd like for us to do in terms of moving forward based on the information we heard tonight. So I think looking at the first two since they're similar both of the Birchwood campus and the Cherrywood campus, we have not put those out to market. So we, you know, are looking for uh board direction to say go ahead. Let's let's see what comes and we'll we're certainly ready to do that. Um so if there are any thoughts or feedback on those first two properties? >> Yeah, I I'll say you know, let's be first.
Um, that was seniors do. So, we can't thank you enough. On to our MVP. Um, he battled a lot of injuries, played every single game. I think he took off two games towards the end of the stretch of the season, but we truly would not be where we were this year without the leadership, the hard play, the hard fight from this uh uh special student. Our MVP for the boys lacrosse is Benjamin Smith. Next up, coach. Thank you. Flag football. I'd first like to take a moment to recognize and thank our senior managers, Ella Carlo, Olivia Wlinsky, and Leia Ramos. Your hard work behind the scenes often goes unnoticed, but our program would not function without you guys. Thank you for your time, dedication, and for always putting our needs first. Before recognizing our seniors, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on this year's team.
So there was there were a few discrepancies that they brought to my attention so you and I can talk in more detail about them. Britney may also be sharing them with you as well. Um, but that was kind of the main part of our conversation. They also had a lot of questions about the override which had already passed. So, we talked a little bit about that. Um, and uh, you know, they're wondering if the those 13 positions were coming back. So, we discussed kind of the reality of where we are and why those positions were um, you know, why those uh, those cuts, if you will, were made um, as part of the broader budget discussion. But, >> Paul Yeah, I mean to ditto the work that u the students and Josh and and Betty and everybody do uh for that event gets better every year.
>> Yeah, it was a pretty substantial package. >> I believe you might be right. >> I think the key as attorney points out it's not necessarily what we think. It's what >> No, I understand that. But just to clarify for >> my purp from her understanding, she it was only brought up >> in the last six months >> a little late. I would have to double check, but I thought for sure if and again if not in our letter >> certainly from residents who are involved had put this in their letter. So what you're saying um is that it might have been in our letter and it might have been in our information to the state, but they basically said no, we're approving this project to move forward. That's what I'm hearing >> because it's mutable. Basically, they can change that designation at any time.

So this is how we the process two years ago when we very got first got when we got our very first 1312 was that the superintendent at the time um because the complaint was against something that a board member did or a board member decision uh the way a board member member handled something the superintendent decided to hand the 1312 to the board of ed um and we collectively were supposed to decide what we wanted to do. It was first time dealing with it. We um got advice from legal at the time, which was not should have been a good one, that um it we might as well like basically the board should talk about whether or not they wanted to proceed with taking it up or dismissing it. So we had the conversation at board meeting. Subsequently after that, I think we got seven 13 12 year um and they were it was clear that it was nowcoming for um the members of the public to whether we felt it was legitimate or not say you know have a there was a very specific like action of the board member um that they had a complaint about.
market. Like I said, there are a lot of properties, potential properties that might be coming up. So, um let's get a feel for what's out there and then u uh you know, hopefully land on a good good uh tenant that is acceptable not just to us again. Uh you know, we want to be mindful about uh our neighborhood neighbors as well like uh Trusty Brewer mentioned here is we don't want uh any uh tenant there. it needs to be uh it needs to gel >> well with the area uh around that those those properties. So, I would say yes, please. Let's let's look for let's start exploring um get get the word out there that >> we have board consensus on that for those two properties. >> I I I support that too. But I through this process, I also want us to be mindful that um the Birchwood, the Cherrywood property, um they're they're considered kind of like the centerpiece of the neighborhood.
We finished the season with a 9 and5 record, but that record only tells part of the story. We competed with some of the best teams in the state and even tied with what many consider to be the top team in New Jersey. Our craziest statistic from the season is that we finished 16 total points away from being undefeated. 16 points over the course of 14 games. And a big part of that is because of our senior class. What's more exciting is what lies ahead. This senior class helped establish a standard of excellence that our younger players can now build upon. >> Whenever you guys are done and for the first time in program history, three of our players will be continuing their flag football careers at the collegiate level next year, proving that the opportunities in this sport continue to grow. and Clifton flag football is helping pave the way for future generations.
U that they really take to heart the feedback people give. We made modifications uh to to some of the stuff that I I was involved with last year and and yeah, it's it's always a great event. Um I'm trying to remember who I was talking to. Um and uh I told them about it and you know, they're in different towns and they're like, "Wow, you know, are other towns doing this?" And I'm like, "I I don't know how many other towns do it." Um, but it's uh it was very well received when I when I was at some party talking to somebody about it. So, um, yeah, and obviously we're going to have an update next time with graduation at least. So, nothing else. >> Shantel, anything? >> Um, this is my first meeting so I have nothing to report. >> You can report. You were elected.
>> Exactly. If you can make D happy, then we'll be happy is essentially where they landed. And just one other little note on that is >> it wasn't unknown to the state. The state would have known from day one because they work with their sister agencies and this is a D document. >> So they were aware >> they were aware from day one. >> The state was well aware that this was there and they knew it be when the process started. So I think that's an important >> and so the significance I think is the the question, right? like, well, what does this mean in terms of the impact on the site? >> And we're not the ones that get to decide it, and that's the problem. >> I understand that. I'm sorry. Go ahead. >> Just one last thing. But it also goes to and again, I wasn't at the meeting, but I was told that at the last at one of the conservation commission meetings, the developer stated that they weren't aware of this or maybe I heard wrong.

So because we had taken up originally, we then had a precedent and we continued to have to entertain whether or not we were going to take it up or not take it up and we not a single one of them we decided to proceed with but we have you have to go through the process of discussing it. Some of them we had to go into executive session to review um like the legal ramifications. >> And when was this policy first created? I think it was uh >> Oh, it's not. >> It was very first creative in 2013. >> 13. Thank you. Okay. 13. I knew it was a team. >> Revised. It was adopted in 2003. >> Revised in 2013, right? >> Correct. Yeah. >> Did I answer your question? >> That's all. If I could, I think one other um discussion I believe we had at the meeting also was if if board members want to review policy 9252A um titled code of conduct for board members.
