way at all all game um it seems to be that uh they're going to pick on built him in and try to get himself up the middle this time going to follow his lead running back number 20 we haven't said his name yet tonight the junior devin parks and he gets two plays one big play out of himself and then all sudden here comes kanoa owens they got back at the running back yeah they got speed and then they got power which is something you always want with two different running backs gonna be a fake toss to the right side quarterback's gonna run to the left got tripped up maddox stefan luckily was able to grab onto the shoestring or the tape on his shoe i'm not sure on his ankle and trip him up but saved a touchdown look at that offensive line already though already ready to go third down and it's gonna be a toss to the right side number 49 is going to get to the right side he's going to keep his feet moving first down and like jared said linemen are already back up to the line of scrimmage ready to go again there on that top sweep you got to close that gap if you're zach wetzel you got to force that way inside i know he fought he went inside but you got to close that gap a little sooner you got to know how many yards he needs for that first down he gains about four and picks it up first and goal from about three trips to the left side now the indian's slowing it down a little bit no linemen down on the ground for the eagles defensive front it's gonna be a quarterback run to the right side they've got the edge and they've got the end zone for a touchdown the scooter [Applause] both wetzel and bryant we're gonna go up in lead block nobody caught the ball and it's gonna go into the end zone for a touchback for now that eagles offense is gonna have a 80-yard field in front of them try to get in the end zone what are you going to try to do on this here drive oh man i mean 12's got to be uh you got to be uh your bit your big guy here but i mean i almost want to see the ball in wetzel's hands a little more give him a jet sweep or something give him a a hitch just get him out in the open space every time he's at the ball tonight he's made a positive yardage um so i'd like to see uh get the ball in wetzel's hands a little bit see what he can do eagles are gonna have tight end and a sniffer back gonna be a high snap fake the handoff gonna be a bootleg he's got wike over the left side great catch by wike he gets up field and he's going to get nine great play to get that drive started and a great catch by wyck from the start snagging that one out of midair yeah that was just a simple bootleg there and it looked like white was on the other side lined up and he ran kind of a drag route all the way across field that freed him up about three yards downfield and vaguely hit him for a good nine yard gain bring up second in about one or two gonna go empty backfield this time once again i'd like to see the eagles get up to the line of scrimmage taking her time it's gonna be a trips left bunch tight everyone's over to the left side we run it to the left side vaguely sticks his foot in the ground he's got eight yards he's got ten he's got a first down good block but it's gonna be a penalty and now a late hit and they are gonna throw that flag so it's gonna be a crack back block on number 11 there nick jannik and then it's going to be a late hit on the quarterback out of bounds that block it was a good block but that's just one of those penalties now that you know it's gonna be a penalty but it's a great block i understand the purpose of the penalty but i just i got one of those called on me my senior year at carlisle and i still i don't get it if there's a dude that's trying to tackle my guy obviously i'm gonna hit him right yeah if if i'm leading with my hands or my shoulders and he didn't lead with his head at all that was a clean hit i i just don't agree with that call at all i think it's the worst worst flag in all of football but all of football huh yeah i i can't stand it i think a lot of people nowadays too they see that big contact and instantly it's a penalty yeah it could be the cleanest what else do you want the guy to do you want him to just lay down on the ground let him tackle him or do you want him to make an effort and try to make a block but i mean whenever you that defender doesn't know he's even coming i mean sorry you got to have your head on a swivel because that was a he literally hit him just clean on face to face i guess when you see two legs flare up in the air now do these offset so the eagles are going to get a first down out of this so the personal foul on the eagles is a live ball penalty and that's after the play and then since vaguely was out of bounds the play is dead mexican makes it it's still a first down for the eagles and now the moscuda coaching staff is asking questions they're satisfied with the answers i don't know if the fans are but sorry about your luck so it's gonna be boundary motion man's yannick high snap gonna be brought down it's a handoff it's a fake handoff across the middle now to hicks and uh the ball was a little high there to hicks and it falls incomplete that looked like straight play action verts because they're probably used to i mean in the run if he's gonna do a play action he's either gonna fake it to the running back and keep the ball and run like we've seen a lot tonight or he's going to hand it off we haven't seen a lot of play action so warner trying to work some new things in there play action trips to the right side going to be another pass play they look at the arrow it's going to be there so wetzel's got himself 12 yards he's got about 15 yards lowers the boom and he's got himself a first down and maybe some cramps now as he's trying to stretch out that hamstring but he's going to go back eagles are up to the line of scrimmage looking over for another play call and he just showed there he wasn't afraid of contact either he took on corner in the safety put his head down and got two or three extra yards there for a good first down and he every every ball he's caught tonight he's got separation so that means he's running good routes and his speed is getting them somewhere gonna be a run this time gonna be a hold penalty if they call it and they do i was hoping the white hat wasn't gonna get the flag out but unfortunately he did and it's gonna be a loss of two on the play and there is going to be the holding penalty number 72 for the eagles is anthony antonis the sophomore two-year starter gets credit with the hold gonna be a loss of five i believe or is this a ten yard i don't even know like you said they're different different amounts and that officials going way too far back it's going to be a 10 yard penalty bring up now a first and we'll call it a 23.
brett yeah and and last week he had a a long of 44 yards on one carry so that's that's the numbers a little bit those other 14 carries then he was getting stymied perhaps but he's able to right now pick up five six a crack certainly running downhill now first half he had 14 carries for 59 yards so he's getting pretty close to the century mark here yes tripp's formation to the field here ball at midfield for north first and ten deep motion by blight they're going to throw maybe a double pass exactly what they're doing and they've got him absolutely you could hear people yelling as soon as you see tyler blythe go in deep motion and get that essentially a lateral he's eligible to throw it and that's that's how you do it the double pass to cooper horn get the ball from athlete one to athlete two and just like that the dogs are up he certainly saw that coming once that pass was made it was obvious that athlete 2 was behind behind him for that ladder and made the nice toss easy pass easy catch oh bad snap here bad snap and that's going to be a failed conversion attempt so i couldn't tell if it's a bad snap or just a bobble to hold but nonetheless the score is going to remain 23 to 6 4 22 to go here in the third quarter and certainly dr roberts more now than ever east needs to put together a drive yeah we talked about how important east's possession was the last time and now uh we we're going to have to exaggerate that emphasis says the uh the bulldogs have put another six on the board three possessions in a row brett that columbus north has scored again going back to that nice drive at the end of the first half ended in a field goal right at the horn and and now two touchdowns in their first two possessions of this this half well tomorrow winds up rivalry week here in town jv and freshman football games both at east high school uh i think they're both at east high school at least they are yeah both games at east i think the first one starts at ten maybe the second game starting around noon yeah i think freshman play first and then jv afterwards so yeah certainly hope to that game will not be streamed so you'll have to attend in person and pay your six bucks but hope to see everybody across town tomorrow morning yeah and do that if you have time get out and see our kids uh play 10 o'clock freshman noon jv guest is back to kick he's going to be taking about the eight yard line as well and he's going to be run out of bound and about the 25 yard line that was returned by chase zaffy and east will start on their own 25.

walking off the field right now they just look deflated and uh there wasn't too many guys i think got touched on that play by the offensive line now there are about three guys that burst through there pretty well with the run plays yeah run game's been pretty good but a lot of a lot of holes in the passing defense yeah i think it's most linebackers and uh defensive backs need to get a little more work in and we'll be all right though because i think moscow is the biggest biggest school we play all all season long so and we're we're putting up a decent fight right now so i'll take it kick off by vaguely there bounces at the five and it finds its way into the end zone for the first touchback of the year something that we got used to seeing um and now we get one right there so it's good to be able to see that coach kendall still has guys year in and year out able to get the ball into the end zone come on i want to see a big play here on defense i want to get a stop have we forced to stop tonight i do not think so no i don't remember seeing a punt play because every fourth down i think they're like three for three on fourth down yeah with a touchdown two touchdowns actually over there it's just gonna be a draw by the quarterback he's gonna reverse the field he's gonna get over here to the 40 and he's going to finally run out of bounds good for 20 yards and a first down for the indians looks like peyton andrews was there to push him out of bounds looks like he's in for bilteman now playing this right side corner along with wetzel on the left side and i think uh we took vaguely out on defense so no bagley's 50 closest to us i don't even oh yeah he's right here i was blocked trips to the right side you're going to fake the handoff going to be a bubble route number one middleton and a rare mistake by him goes right through the the bad place right through the hands sometimes on defense that can be backwards pass so go jump on that ball and just run it to the end zone to make sure i i used to do that all the time waste more time catch your breath walk back a little bit except that was almost lateral trips to the right side three down linemen three linebackers gonna be man to man on the right side of this formation gonna be a low it's gonna be a bumble and it's gonna be recovered by the eagles they're gonna try to scoop and score that's gonna be picked up the play that we needed and we got it big hit there by who uh looked like white maybe it's him or brandon jackson but that running the the toss was kind of low at his ankles and right when he came up to put it in his pocket bam took a hit fumbled the ball and that ball was scooting for three or four yards before somebody was able to pick it up and bounce on it but middleton shaken up on the play he looked like he was trying to go for the fumble and if i'm coach horner here you have two seconds this is the last play of the quarter shot to the end zone i'm going to the end zone now i say that we're probably going to run the ball up the middle i'm going for the end zone is we're going to have a tight end right sniffer back right four down lineman you have middleton out of the game as well who's been playing corner all night so you can take advantage of that high snap going to be a rollout vaguely got to keep his feet moving he's going to get the throw off gonna be caught by wike he's going to get enough for a first down and a good way to end that third quarter there for the eagles here we go they're going to look where are they going to spot it right now they're going to put it at the 20 so i'm going to imagine the eagles are going to start with a first down we're going to reverse sides of the field but one thing we have to do we did not get to do it in the pregame is honored coach horner and coach germaine they are now members of the st louis metro football coaches association hall of fame and it was a pretty cool night to be able to go over there i think there's about six coaches that got honored but uh coach horner goes in as the head coach and i believe there's only one assistant coach a year that goes in and that's coach jermaine so uh that's pretty exciting stuff for them to get in and coach horner and coach jermaine these go right here they have been coaching together this is their 22nd season at columbia high school they're 151 and 65 which is 70 percent win percentage 96 and 21 in the cahokia conference and a regular season record of 138 and 48.
gonna pass fake that and sprint to his right ran out of room and i thought it might have been a flag but it doesn't appear to be yeah he did go down out of bounds maybe some incidental contact as they were both losing their balance heading out of bounds there but duncan just ran out of real estate couldn't find an open receiver so he's at fourth and sixth and east is going to need to punt at this point in time punt teams on the field that synth seth lanky number 42 is a junior for east 510 205. [Music] he's got to burn a timeout because they had 10 on the field so now each team's burnt to a timeout here in the third quarter be interesting at this game gets close when we come down to the end and timeouts might become a factor but each team having burned once so far fourth and six here you wouldn't think coach vogel would take a chance with uh with any kind of a fake i'm sure north's having that exact conversation in the huddle certainly something to talk about i would be surprised at this point given the time of game and the place on the field for east with a little stomping here around the bleachers area brett started to make me a little nervous um i think my seat was shaking maybe a bit or two the lights flickered a little bit too i thought i was flickering phone calls wasn't sure all right we just got a flag on the sideline of east not sure what the situation was on the far side of the field but the referee not sure either didn't see a lot of demonstrative activity over there but uh nothing else heard something and so i think that's what it was again the benefit of our little delay here we saw the official spin quickly and tossed that flag he's heard something and tough tough penalty backs east up even more and um almost guarantees columbus north some really good field position here pressure on the punter but that's not good received at the 41 yard line by blyth coming out to this side of the field now cutting back to the other barreling the head down to the 25 yard line about a 20 25 yard return there an okay punt given the pressure and and we're having to kick it from but um no it's going to start this drive from basically where east just was before the penalty at around the 20 26 yard line it looks like yeah you you said it so tremendous field position here for it's for columbus north it was a tough start for them they they were losing the field position battle to start the game starting really in tough situations um but after they got that one long drive going they have flipped that and they're starting in great shape each time now just a reminder three times in a row three possessions in a row north has scored deep motion here horn is going to fake that throw the screen to blyth it's going to get outside a good block there by good perimeter block there by tobias page and there's a flag on the field at the conclusion of the play should be a first down see what the call is i'm still looking for the placement of the flag brett to even guess what that might have been more than like against the east may have been a piling on we look like we may have had a player fly in late yeah situation might be a little bit of frustration in the white jerseys now but coach vogel and his staff are really good they'll get them dialed in here pretty quick so that's gonna be first first and goal from the seven wow that's him really big penalty yeah a couple big ones there one play from the 26 you get the penalty now they're balls sitting at the seven first and goal under center is horn he's going to give it to marmino number 20.
so that's a 750 regular season win percentage um coach horner has the most seasons of any head coach of columbia his 151 wins leads columbia coaches 13 of those are playoff wins second wins is coach jerry germain at 53. coach horner's columbia squads have reached the playoffs in 17 of 20 seasons and uh the only reason they didn't make it in the 20th season was the 2021 season was shortened due to coven they have 11 conference championships and 9 undefeated seasons so great job and great careers for coach horner and coach germaine we get back to action here real quick it's going to be a loss of four and once again a bad play coming out of a break for the eagles it's gonna be a loss of four as vaguely had nowhere to go and one thing that we were talking about at halftime too jared ten straight trips to the playoffs and that's something that's pretty neat and uh some teams would love to be able to get three in a row we've got 10.
