have uh Drew Bishop our uh business manager uh we have Georgie fiser our HR Director we have Dr Andrea finina our assistant superintendent we have Kyle Summers our esteemed attorney Dr Roach our esteemed superintendent and I and we have various and sunry others in the in the audience hello and welcome back uh next we'll move to the board president's comments uh again welcome back everyone if I feel like it was a really long time off but now it seems like it wasn't that long but it's okay that's good uh just a couple notes I had the pleasure of attending the picnic for the 12 month staff food was delicious had a chance to catch up with many of our staff which was fun and and it's been a great tradition we've done the last few

years and I hope we continue to do it um I also want to address something that I feel is a a little bit of a disturbing Trend by some members of the board so I'll just remind everyone um it's it's more to do with plain oldfashioned courtesy um if you'd like to re request something special from one of our administrators uh please copy Allen um myself as board president uh if it involves a committee the chair of that committee so that they would know what's being asked for um you might be asking a question or requesting material that everyone would like to see and I know um usually I get looped back in in the back end from whoever's uh requesting which is nice um if you're not going to be at a meeting please

let me know as well um and if you want to a amend an agenda item or an agenda at all um you know as long as you're doing it within our policy it would be really nice to not be blindsided by that in the future uh we are supposed to be working together not as individuals so lastly I want to share a program I've seen at was Market fact I went to do it right away and it wasn't open yet um there is uh we can help our schools earn a share of their $500,000 and at the register you'll see a little scan code and you can register your was as a rewards card and this morning I made sure that all of our schools were in it and they are so you just check

it out never know we'll we can get a share of that it would be great because you know we all go to wises so that's good um again I want to welcome everyone to the 2024 25 school year and let's make it a great year with that I'll turn it over to Dr Ro thank you Mr Cunningham again same welcome to the the school year I know some of us um are still going to be now for a little more summer um over the next couple of weeks and uh getting ready but I have a quick update for you um so a couple upgrades that you're going to see physically at our buildings these are some of the upgrades that part of the we would commonly call the baller project so this is you can

see in the top part there uh inside maror there's many Ballers out in the in the area there so that's where the buses normally drop off there's Ballers that are actually off the curb so the curb is is not been touched but another safety loop for our students as they're walking getting off the bus and getting up there if if a bus end or a car um you know were to and before we talked about jumping the curve but at least again it's protection and that's sort of that what this the baller project was Grant funded as a part of that low level from the pccd that level one pieces uh the bottom there is is Herford so that's the that's the the the arch that's in front of of of Herford which probably has

been you know a concern for many long time with with if someone either you know made a mistake and or wanted to drive in there and then the bottom picture at at Herford and the middle bottom there is down between the first and second grade area again a little for the walkway there at Fourth and Fifth Grade Center I it's I can't even see it but there's a picture of the fence that's been been installed out there to help create a barrier from uh from from the area there so if you look real closely or you get up to the screen you'll see it um but I wanted to give perspective on on the playground and the fence area there so uh it goes all it connects to the the previous fence that was there

along the back and then up by the parking lot area so again upgrades again these are physical things people are going to see when they come to our buildings uh in the Safety and Security realm at the middle school specifically the the left picture there is by what we we commonly call is the athletic entrance of the Middle School kind of coming off the parking lot there so those are lower B ballards um that I'm sure students are going to love standing on but again it's for protection of of that that doorway there and then the other two pictures are the same entrance in the bus bus Loop where the majority of students come out of again more uh of the Ballard there for for buses and car and drop off that's where a lot

of students stand and so we don't want anything to happen as a mistake and again this is a part of the overall U project uh these this these these three here are specifically at the high school so on the left there is the snack stand area that you've seen outside the the gym area so that been some Renovations there still in process what you're what you don't see if you put the old picture there would be that table that kind of wound through there so that's opening up um I think there's some um some plans for additional warmer areas for our students and kind of a common area and the middle one is the athletic entrance you see again more ballards where students wait for um getting on the Western Center buses as well as

the the areas there a lot of traffic students waiting for for rides and then on the on the right side there is a new office that's going in which was formerly in the high school the people Services area that's an area that's um I think there's been progress made since since I took the picture earlier in the week um that'll be Mrs S ofit's office down the hallway you can kind of see a doorway that's the existing office that's down there they kind of framed that off so now there'll be two and then I believe there'll be a security office in one of the previous offices all in that main area there so again some continued improvements and areas and for those that have been paying attention to my updates in terms of that academic

Wall of Fame that's in process now I didn't have a picture but they are redesigning those and getting all of them back up in a in a nice order so again just happy and share the work that's being done across the district that people physically see some things and a lot of that's the grant work that I know facilities has gone through uh but definitely things that each building that you're going to see on the outside as you as you arrive share that this uh I know the board's aware that we had our administrative Retreat which we do annually so this annually so it's been another uh successful preparing for this school year I'm super proud to be a part and Lead this team of hardworking administrators so and just sharing that and and thank

them for all the efforts of all summer long um and getting ready for a successful school year it's nothing like starting off the school year as smooth as we can and then as Mrs Cunningham mentioned our annual barbecue that we host for our 12 month for our summer staff or our Summer Camp staff um you know again just another Avenue of seeing our Ser serve our own employees as well as have a good time um at least they're waving for for a second there Mr thrush seems to be handing a hot dog off but um it was it was a good event and I think it is a nice tradition we kind of pick a day and um you know connect across the district um even again people coming from esy and or other camps

so we appreciate the everyone's help and support I know the ministrators are going to hear me NE uh next week talk about signing up for Community Day and signing up for convocation all those other things so we really appreciate their efforts a couple other important dates um we are 50% across the district um with the Skyward back to school forms that opened on August 1st so half of our families have already signed up for to have access to the information and we're continuing to um you know ask and and pursue the other group to get signed up before uh next Thursday does anyone to guess what building is leading the the charge across the district maror it is right Mrs is uh yeah they are they are leading the charge typically Elementary leads it and

then uh Middle School and High School lag behind but they it'll once once the information starts to go and get shared it'll it'll pick up as everyone wants to know the dates so you know next Thursday and Friday are the dates for the information for buses as well as classroom classroom teachers and all your classes and more importantly your lunch period in the secondary level um that'll be shared and uh and we'll continue to to work on the um on the bus schedules and and again information be is is getting loaded in and uh continue to make some changes in tweaks so always ask to be patient through those first couple of uh of weeks continuing for next year is the free breakfast program for all students so we'll continue to to advertise and have

make sure we work with our our buildings to provide that opportunity lunch it's still for qualified families there's kind of there's no reduced it's if you qualify then it's it's kind of uh at no cost for you so we need you to reapply there is a grace period the first couple weeks but after that uh if families are on the free and reduce um list the information is is linked here it's on our website um but there's some point in the middle of September where that that that free Status goes away if you don't reapply so and if we have families please fill that out so you can continue to participate we're not quite there yet as a state or as a country yet with free lunch for everyone but we're you know we do

have the the breakfast and there's people still qualify for lunch as I just mentioned Transportation continuing to work um please be patient and uh and we'll be up and running yet uh was it yesterday right yesterday here we welcomed our our Christ used our our this room to welcome all the drivers and and worked on the morning uh take their pictures and uh was I got an opportunity to welcome everyone and thank them for for the the thankless job often that that they do try to let them know how much we appreciate our relationship with with Christ some of them will even start before with some of the non-pb runs and kindergarten uh kindergarten registration will continue and as well as anyone that's new if you haven't registered and you know you're coming here please

let us know um next week new teacher induction on Tuesday uh welcome back to teachers the following week and then the first day of school so it's all downhill and we're excited to be ready to go it's just it's just happening right uh and then obviously Communications we're continuing to we're rolling out fully now parent Square so that'll be the main scope of communication for us as a district last year we went in with certain pieces now we're asking everyone to participate uh and uh I know Mrs Janowski is excited about lots of training opportunities again kindergarten class at 37 you've seen this slide before we'll continue to welcome our families comprehensive plan so we're we're still continuing to collect information uh on the comprehensive plan we'd love to hear from our students and our

families and our community um many of you are aware that we put information out in the uh in the Town and Country last week in a letter to the editor and we did get some Community involvement already although it's still in the single digits we're happy to have some people that participated in in that so we want to make sure that we offer the opportunity for our community to uh to provide feedback and participate in that as a part of that process and set set the phase for the district from 2025 to 28 hey marching band every year I try to give you an update on visiting the marching band I got a chance to speak with them um this year their their their showcase is Super Bowl Halftime performances so there's going to be

songs from Michael Jackson Britney Spears Bruno Mars and Rihanna in in their repertoire so uh Mrs hildbrand did send me a quick clip so I'm going to play it not going to tell you what it is see if you can guess the song it was a little battle last time yeah you see the performers that are there so that helps right [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] what we get this is penny pecker I think Michael Jackson black and white black white thank you thank you we don't play that in Red Hill band we might right yep and just a reminder of athletics football started this week with he acclamation next week we start with allall athlete um all high school ball Athletics and then the third for middle school with Middle

School Football starting on the first day of school so share that information but I know that the students are excited uh for band as I got a chance to talk with a couple of them at practice they were kind of as you can see the the weather there they were right between a break in the in the weather to get outside and do some marching and something else you'll see as I'm looking at those pictures a lot of the striping was redone in our parking lots across our districts as well so again some continued enhancements from that so that's pretty much it just welcome back to school and uh and look forward to uh to a great school year great start to a school year well thank you all right we don't have any stupid

student representatives and I didn't say that yet uh we'll move on to our solicitors report and sunshine act announcements Mr Summers thank you uh the board did meet in an executive session immediately prior to tonight's meeting for the purpose of discussing matters of School Safety and Security as well as matters of personnel involving new hires to the district um and just by way of of usual announcements for anyone uh who is in attendance at tonight's meeting there are two opportunities for members of the public to make comment to the board the first opportunity is on items that are on the agenda for a vote uh this evening and then there's another opportunity at the end of the meeting for other matters of concern that may come before the board uh pursuant to board policy anyone

who wishes to comment to the board does need to fill out a signup sheet those sheets are available in the back of the room and need to be handed in in the bin that is located next to the screen prior to the public comment period uh so if you wish to comment before the board you need to fill out one of those forms in the back of the room uh and the comment period is limited to three minutes uh for each speaker uh to speak and I will indicate how much time you have left if you do choose to speak and that concludes my report thank you um just a reminder I was reminded that we make sure we talk into our microphone so all of our audience members can hear us clearly um we'll

done not too much after they got got it done the public education system is promoting a political agenda exposing Concepts to kids well under the age where they understand or have the capability to comprehend what's going on back in March and April when the pride Flags in the classroom topic came up uh there were those of us who said it shouldn't be there there was good reason for that what was exposed back in June with a young lady identifying as a male and getting brutally beaten by three males is uncomprehensible unconscionable the fact that the principal was approached and nothing was accomplished forced a mother and grandmother to come in front of the school board and superintendent to get resolution only one school board director acknowledged the mother's plight no one else in front of

the podium said a word you follow this woke agenda from the political left and you can't even comprehend how to deal with the repercussions that come with it had the pride flag issue not been promoted in school there would be one less child put In Harm's Way this type of situation would not be occurring in our any of our schools I will say the argument could be made that exasperated the political climate any further to perpetuate division among students based on gender ideology is something the administration needs to answer for I would also say the community deserve to understand how the administration's actions to combat harassment bullying is working or not spoiler alert it's not in fact I think the Dei is crap in making things worse and I believe the administration could benefit from

a board that isn't a bunch of sheep but a board that is a bunch of independent thinkers I think the teachers should focus more on building actual relationships with kids rather than relying on a flag to manufacture or take place of a real relationship also there is zero evidence that flag lower suicide rates there there is research that the feeling of belongingness does not occur with the flag you know what else is research-based affiliation with Christianity shows lower suicide rates I'd like to be convinced the board members in administration are actual research are using actual research to drive their decision-making not thoughts and feelings and manufactured implications our children are not science experiments thank you thank you um we move on to public Com or to board comments please do we have any board comments

JP any shoutouts no I just want to publicly thank Dr Roach for hanging those banners I really appreciate it so thank you Trina do you have a comment um yeah I was gonna say a couple things um I wanted um I don't know who all is in the audience but whoever is listening to know that I've inquired um about the per capita tax bill that burkhamer sends um it's that little Bill that's like10 to $15 that residents receive and um I I know there's some community members that had legitimate concerns about that so I've asked Drew to invite a representative from burkhamer um to possibly a um a finance committee meeting I'm on that committee so I don't know what will happen with that but I just wanted to tell anybody who is concerned about

that to watch for like the agenda for the finance committee meeting because I'm hoping that we can have a conversation about that it's a little bill there there's enough like concern in my mind that um we should maybe just discuss and make sure that the community um can understand the bill a little better and make sure everybody understands how to handle it when they receive it like who's getting it and why um and how to respond to that because um I just wanted to fine-tune that a little bit if possible so I just wanted people to know that I put that request out um I also am pretty sure that we'll be soon talking about any changes to Title Nine and I wanted the the community to know that some of those changes are on

hold right now based on a judgment that came down in July so I I don't know what all is going to happen with that and that those changes are like happening as we speak so I would say to any community members who are um concerned or watching for those changes in Title 9 that you watch for the agenda that will probably occur in a policy meeting so you can keep your eye on that um let's see and I did want to ask the community um as far as Turf I know that was brought up a little bit in the community about the turf um and I'm sure we'll be talking about that in facilities I'm on that committee as well so I just wanted to encourage the community um first off for me I I'm

not a Turf expert so I welcome you know the community if you want to email me um with knowledge you have about that you could feel free to do that um let's see uh last just to um oh I did wna I I wanted to thank Chris for coming forward and saying uh you know speaking up a little bit so thank you to all Audi audience members who you know are brave and come forward and um say you know have their have their say um thank you I'm listening um and I kind of wanted to Echo or respond to what Melanie started with tonight I do want to encourage my fellow board members to join into conversations and help build a strong board relationship like she said we're working together um so I would like

to continue to engage in respect ful and deep dialogue even if these are some conversations that are difficult and um I would also like to publicly apologize to Melanie I didn't realize that um I should have run that by you so I wanted to apologize because at the last meeting I wanted to make a change to the agenda and I figured out how to do it according to policy but I didn't realize what position that was putting Melanie in so my apologies Melanie thank you yep thanks Trina um do we have anyone else all right hearing none I would oh yeah we did notice that the dates for the uh policy committee and the EPS committee are incorrect um on the agenda we thought we had fixed those but they might have reverted so the

policy committee is going to be on the 19th of September and no no AUST August August well August is down here oh is it right August is here but then on the on the second page they've got 916 is that correct it is it is I'm sorry that's my fault I have the page flipped okay so we're good yes 819 is correct for policy and 8:15 for EPs and then 916 and 919 yeah okay never mind we're good never mind okay thank you all right um hearing no other comments can I make a comment real quick I just wanted to say something about the Burkheimer thing um I did call for my daughter and they exonerated it right away so I can give you the number it's 61 3139 and it's for kids that are

not 18 yet that make less than $10,000 a year but they don't have to pay that tax it's $980 yeah I know he like that per capita tax has been on my back for seven years now all right here uh no other comments hearing no other comments I would entertain a motion motion to Second all in favor all right and your post all right thank you all very much e
