001um [Music] first we want to thank you for waking us up this morning and start us on our way you didn't have to do it but you did and for those who decided my voice is even lord who may be with the songs of life may be raging we ask that we go to the one that can calm the raging seas and peace be still for those who may be sick in their hearts and in their minds as even who may be going through sad hours of bereavement help us to know there's a great physician if we continue to ask him to put a fence of protection around us he will we ask that you come into our meeting this evening give us clarity of mind and thought that we will be quick to listen

002and slow to speak and help us to keep focus on our main focus of this district is to do the very best that we can to be the very best trustees that we can and in all this we will give all you honor and glory because it's in your name we pray and it's in your name we count it all done amen school board of trustees was there a motion to adopt a proposed agenda minutes for may 18 21 and may 25th finance and facility committee facilitator requests as well proper motion by mr mcdonald second segment ernest cnn discussion hearing none all those in favor let me know by raising right hand those that are poems we have one statement at this time we want to thank everyone that have gathered here this evening with

003us uh we thank g webster would come in and independent this time we will move to let me see the celebration slide there there we go awesome so i i'm sure you all noticed that we had a group come in from the back and um in in the midst of you know challenging times and you know what's otherwise been a really difficult year there is always something that we can be excited about and um ladies i just want to say thank you because i know you were at another event and you rushed over here but we are in the presence of the 4a state championship softball team from lugoff elgin high school and we just wanted to congratulate you and get some photos with you i can tell you that personally i i was able

004to watch the game at le i didn't make it to the darlington game and talk about a nail biter when the home run went over the left field wall i think it was emma that hit that was just amazing yeah so so exciting and you know those are the types of things that bind communities together and give us something to be very proud of in kershaw county and so this is a recognition well deserved we know it took a lot of hard work to get to that point no one wins the state championship with putting it without putting in a lot of time energy and effort so on behalf of myself district admin team and the board we just want to say congratulations so coach if you want to come up and say a few

005things or have [Music] um i don't know which way to stand i just really want to thank everybody you know my girls put in so much work and so much time my seniors they missed their prom so that when we could go to indian land and play two games and win they missed a lot this season to be able to make this happen um i don't think any of them would trade it for anything um but it's been really cool to not only see how much enjoyment they've gotten out of it but really how much enjoyment our school and our community have gotten out of it the amount of like text messages i know that the girls have gotten they're really my staff too i think after state we got on the bus and coach

006and i each had like 64 text messages not to mention like notifications from social media and all kind of other things so just knowing that these girls as much time as i've seen them put in they're finally getting a little bit of love back from the community they poured so much into and the school that they poured so much into with their hard work it's just been really exciting you know we have talked about it since august when we started lifting weights a couple of my kids came up with instagram captions in august for one wednesday so they were prepared for this moment they really worked hard for this moment and emma's bradley's home run was really big and everybody's gonna remember it forever but i hope everybody also remembers you know the little things

007that each one of these 13 put in to really make it happen and we have him on the stick because she's at the women's college world series right now so we have everybody but her but i just hope that everybody remembers this moment i hope they remember this moment we really are so thankful to be here and we're thankful that the community was behind us the whole way ladies awesome cheers uh that's a little bit oh okay anywhere you want to go [Music] thanks again congratulations [Music] club thank you all right thank you um honored to be here tonight that's going to give you our end of the year uh where we are so far from the jackson teens and the first of all thank you for the partnership and the use of the building

008um at this count now we have 29 kids that are on their way to uh higher education eight of those kids i want to thank you for placing that um central carolina because we have eight and eight kids that through our financial class thought that uh central carolina would be a better financial decision for them and make a decision in a couple of years and we have one voice in the military we also have john nelly who is the south carolina state youth of the year for the boys and girls club um she is uh now working at the alpha center on the opioids ranch and on their way to um crocodile zai bradford i got a proclamation from county council and he's now working at um uh in jackson kingston so none of these

009things would be possible without the partnership i want to thank you personally uh dr roberts for coming over and walking through with us and seeing what the needs are and so that you can have a longer list my friend billy back here but i really thank you guys and i thank you um um for you know i know i take a lot of your husband's time up but he's a big help um i do want to say this i've been on the ground not at the team center's been open since 2014 but i was on the ground 10 years before that i don't know that these numbers would be like that i work with kids on the on the ground and without that center i don't know that we have these type of numbers so

010it is so important we know food we thank you for everything every life above that you change anything you do we appreciate it from the bottom of our heart so but anyway um dr smith thank you for coming to the play i hope you had a good laugh uh your guys gotta see what we do just to keep the doors open but we have to play on saturday and it was uh it was really good but i just wanted to stop by and give you a brief update i'll let you know that we're gonna uh dr robins uh for your instructions we're gonna start the cleaning next week we've already got the old stuff out and uh thanks to you for putting new updates and things into the classroom so that the students especially the

011ones you know that are doing everything we ask that's going to make them feel real special they'll be sitting in a nice classroom so for that that's all i have to say but thank you and from the bottom of my heart we really really really appreciate the practice if you've got this thank you as you said my name is torres i'm a military veteran who has made kershaw county my home when i retired in 2019 i'm also a parent of two children here in the district and so i'm here tonight representing kershaw county parents involved in education and i wanted to respectfully ask the kershaw county school district at the kershaw county school board where you stand on crt critical race theory because that's a very hot topic right now i'm not oppressed because i'm

012black and my husband is not my oppressor because he is not and so that hateful agenda i believe has no place in the school system so i just like to know where you guys stand on that and i thank you for giving me altitude next we have cindy i want to start by apologizing my voices in and out currently so um my name is cindy lettingham my ninth year as representative representatives excuse me the kcpi christian community parents involved in education i would like to start by thanking our board members for everything that they do for our community their service i would also like to address critical race theory also referred to as culture culturally diverse education crt is a racist narrative that teaches our children who you are as a direct result of the

013color of your skin as a child growing up in this community and a graduate of this district we were taught to respect women we were not taught the color of a person skinned it takes who they are or who they can become control unfortunately in these terms parents across america are cncr teachers are working their children's school at an alarming rate the parents at casey powell which is slightly respectfully requested on the record today with the construction of the school district as well as the board member stand from the crt and being called our school school system specifically in the upcoming school year um excuse me my request that the members of the board will assure the public that this hateful achievement has been part no um [Music] good evening chairman smith members of the

014board with dr robbins so the first item on the agenda is the 2021-2022 proposed budget we've discussed this budget in a variety of sessions over the past couple of months with the final draft being presented at the last board meeting no further information had been passed down to us from the legislature that would make us think we need to change any of those numbers so that budget stands as it was the last time that you all represented that information i'm happy to take any questions otherwise we would ask for your date of approval tonight for the 2021-2022 general fund budget anyone have any questions it did just one uh you said that everything remains as we presented in our facility so because it does before us i think everyone has looked at it 91 96

015million 173 [Music] discussion mr chairman just just for the for the record i just wanted to note that the almost 2 2 million dollar increase in our budget is earmarked i think was 95 just for teachers which is just awesome i just want to have pointed out people say man they're spending we're not spending we're really pouring back into whatever matters that's short on the record thank you any further discussion hearing on all those in favor let me know about this right here and that's the announcement thank you for that so the second item is the annual debt resolution so this is presented to you all each year um in the month of june we also discussed this at the finance and facilities meeting um so i'm happy to answer any questions but otherwise i'll

016ask for your claim approval on the annual debt resolution everyone have a copy of the debt resolution are there any questions here or not is there emotion you're done it's been properly motioned by mr mcdonald sacrifice coach blackman should adopt the debt resolution hearing no further discussion all those in favor let it be known by saying i i those are the faults that's anonymous thank you thank you that we presented at our last meeting for information seeking your approval for those changes tonight just as a reminder one of those is the student acceptance acceptable use policy this replaces the policies that were broken out by grade level previously and now it's being combined into one acceptable use policy and that's coming to you from the ecosystem committee and then the second policy change is with

017the safety plans and draft drills policy and that's part of a plan that we need to submit to the state department of education there are minor changes in both of those and they've been reviewed by staff we'll be glad to answer any questions policies of the course we've had a chance to review them are there any questions quickly says here your understanding comes the contract against this agreement i understand there will be consequences but don't follow the acceptable use of policy can you tell us what the consequences are that that's taken away from them and that would be a case-by-case basis mr blackman um like other disciplinary issues but just trying to make the student and the family aware that this is a piece of equipment that has some value to it and simply to

018treat it with respect and responsibility depending on what the situation would be right the school administrator then we deal with it on case-by-case basis [Music] moves us down to the clc presentation good evening members of the board not robins we appreciate the opportunity to just talk about what we're doing with the alternative program i'm joined by ms kimberly stokes our special projects coordinator and kind of tells me what to do on a lot of day-to-day basis it keeps me straight there's a full-time job in itself so what we want to start with is what we've incorporated a big believer in being value driven not rule driven um in our grow motto and that's something that we emphasize on a daily basis with our students because ultimately we want our students to grow um you know

019a lot of times they have been put in this box so to speak of you know you don't meet this criteria this criteria but ultimately what we're trying to emphasize with them is you have the ability to grow as a person as a student and just all the way around and so we incorporate that on a number of ways on a daily basis through our everyday language and interactions and to our growth card as you see there which we use for our weekly check-ins to see where they're at behaviorally academically socially emotionally and just all the way around as as young people so i just wanted to touch on that because a lot of times if you came in you would hear us talking about grow and we grow so just where that concept comes

020from right next slide and so at the end of the day one thing we wanted to really make clear as we moved into this first year of us working with the program is ultimately today we have to be academic centered and focused there's a lot of other needs our students have but ultimately what's going to be a success is are we helping them grow academically and so i'm not going to get into every single bullet there um but at the end of the day if you kind of just glance through what you can see is overall we are helping them grow um and that's for just our first semester we're still collecting data on our second semester but also to give you an idea you know such as with math we also overall as a

021program saw our students grow by over two and a half points overall in math and four points in reading as a general consensus and so we're graduating students um you know we're seeing students achieve more than they ever have academically seen their grades go up and i want to make clear we're not handing this to them you know one thing we talked about as you might earn it you know anything we do nice for you this folks will talk about some of the nice things that we're doing for them but they're going to earn it because ultimately we want them to be productive citizens and have to understand that concept so just to give a highlight of what we've been accomplishing throughout the year there next slide please i'm going to turn it over to

022ms stokes here good evening thank you for the opportunity to come and speak about our program again i won't read everything to you because you have it there before you but um first what's very important and near and dear to my heart as you all probably know is community and service so just wanted to share with you the partnerships that we have built within our community midcarolina credit union provided gift cards for our students of the week month our camden first baptist women's ministry groups provided chick-fil-a gift cards for our faculty staff monthly golden apple winners several businesses including charlie nash and his father chuck nash donated services gift cards for our faculty and staff during teacher appreciation week one of the big highlights for us this year is every other thursday we offered real

023life talks and this was during our grow time and we had different community business leaders speakers come in and speak about their professions and share um valuable information with our students we actually had marianne byrd come in dr graham um so we are just so fortunate that we have um the partnerships that we have so far in our community um at christmas we did 100 over 100 gift bags for the elderly at the springdale health center and then we also just um partnered with american legion post-17 to put breeds out at wreaths across america in december uh during black history month we partnered with the camden archives and museum to provide a sliding show with the historical information as well as photos from the original jackson school for our students and staff we partnered with

024wtc classes who helped refurbish a plaque that was originally given in honor of jackson schools and we had a reception and we had a grab-and-go breakfast provided again by our wtc culinary students and that was actually featured on a couple of our local news stations uh we also partnered in march with canon first bad delicious groups to provide bags for our icu and coded floor workers at kershaw health hospital we had an earth day celebration we had an out outdoor garden that we planted and that was as a result of our funding from the kershaw conservation district mini grant that we were a recipient of uh we also just finished placing uh flags at quaker cemetery for all our fallen soldiers heroes to commemorate memorial day and then we have field day tomorrow and we

025have national guard as well as the lidwell kershaw coalition coming in to participate with our students in our events uh grants i mentioned that we were one of two recipients of the kershaw conservation district education grant lindley jones and myself received two grants from the camden junior welfare league we just had our artist in residence finish i was able to get us a 1200 grand through the south carolina arts commission uh mr goodwin the pe teacher and i received the delta capra grants for 200 and then we are awaiting um three grants that i submitted uh one is through the voya unsung heroes program and i wrote that for up to twenty five thousand dollars and let's cross our fingers that they'll show up with a big check and balloons um we also applied for

026a couple of fuel up to place 16 uh grants one is for a walking path and the other is for flag football um last couple of things our communication parent outreach this has been very important for us uh we're all over social media uh we also have done a lot with our school website so if you have not checked that out please do so we have a monthly newsletter that i email out to all of the school board members parents leaders in our community it's called the grow times that will go out tomorrow and i actually have a student who helps with that newsletter so she does all the design and content and so i'm very proud of what she's accomplished in april we celebrated the month of the military child we hosted a breakfast

027that was sponsored by american legion pro 17 for the military students at clc and their parents and mrs troy from the district office came and participated in that and she and i kind of have some ideas for some things we'd like to do as a district next year for all of our military children and kershaw county school system um today we hosted an art gallery reception and meet and greet with uh our artist in residence phil hicks uh mrs halley was able to come and so i think she can tell you a little more about that but we were so excited to have her and we had several community leaders julian burns um some fine arts center folks came and we also have our art gallery online if you would like to go to our

028school website and check that out so we have a lot of great things going on at clc one thing that's been the focus of this year and um is ultimately just rebranding and re-imaging the program overall and part of that is you know as i've heard robin say and it's very important your front porch you know um we honestly you know we really feel that the students are going to feel more worthwhile the more we advocate we saw the grants we saw what we're trying to do and we want them to feel like they have what they need to be successful you know this isn't just well you know this is where i'm at this is what we got and it is what it is that's not the mentality that we want because ultimately that's

029not a growth mentality and so you know we really work on physical environment improvements um you get a new signage a lot of the flowers you know the garden outdoor classroom again supplied by grants one thing you notice the theme of you know just those phenomenal job we're constantly pursuing other streams of you know revenue and avenues for our students and for our programs um which another finance department appreciates we're not constantly getting them up for this money so that being said we're going to continue to push that envelope in that boy grant as you'll see is it's going to be huge hopefully we can we can get that because the mentoring pieces i'll talk about in a second is something we really see is a big next step for our program so next time

030so really getting into what we're looking at here in the next year um a stronger focus on research based approach to social emotional learning one thing i've learned in this role i'm going to be completely honest i i don't come from a clinical background not a counseling background i just have a passion for children that need some extra love some extra jesus as i say a lot of times and so we but we have to get more you know in tune with what that looks like and we need to grow in that area as a staff and what i hope is we can then push that out throughout the district in a lot of ways and be a model for what these students need to be successful expanding our academic opportunities expectations for students and

031staff so you see a number of things there you know we are a as i kind of say a small but mighty army and so that means we have to be creative and how we offer programming how we offer curriculum and but it's fun at the end of the day you get to think outside of the box you get to try new things but at the end of that we want our students to have as much academic opportunities as possible but at the same time we understand how we're going to facilitate that so that's something we're working on and as i touched on the mentor program grow room um you know really been passionate about this and saw a presentation um a while back from greenville county school system this is a big mainstay in

032their schools and this is going to be a big job that miss stokes is also going to take on amongst all the other things you can see she's doing um but i mean our goal is to have a mentor for every student and also to do it right um you know i have a neighbor um and you heard zombie grass we mentioned earlier and we're trying to keep it together here yeah but um anyway this this gentleman has been mentoring him since he was nominating school and he has stuck with him and stayed with him and i know has been an integral part of the young man that zarik has become a young man that we're proud of is the district and i and just that mentoring piece and students having that advocate and person

033that sticks with them is just so crucial and so we're going to make sure we do this right and that mentors understand their roles and how this is supposed to be done these kids need consistency they need somebody that's going to be there you know because a lot of them have been plenty of inconsistency to begin with so that's going to be something that you know we're really going to be focused on and try to grow and so we have um a virtual lab upon hyper component because the end of the day we're trying to serve as many kids as possible but also in a way where we're giving them the attention that they need and so sometimes that means maybe bringing them in even on a rotating basis you know things of that nature

034so we can keep the management where we need it to be and give them the attention they need but also stay connected to them and ultimately i'm just going to say keep as many kids coming in to the school building as possible even if it might be a situation where they couldn't stay in their traditional school and um and then as you can see we're already trying to do a number of community service projects and we got creative even code times we're going to continue to work on that because we want them to understand this this is bigger than you you know this is about giving that community and that's one of the best things you know we feel we can try to instill them again as we try to grow them as individuals right

035i think that i think that does it let me just say just one thing i had opportunity to go today look at the artwork and i am just so proud that not only is the national push for arts and how it builds the child but i'm so glad to see that kershaw county regardless of what where you are what school you are in this county clc or whatever that the arts are being stressed as ways of helping them with children and i command leadership and the work is phenomenal if you get an opportunity to go it's in the library there's clc if you get a chance to go by please go and see the awkward you will be amazed at the work that was done in the eight weeks that we're definitely he came two

036days a week the work is phenomenal so kids have three or four pieces on display it was truly belonging if you get an opportunity to please go back i think it will be on display till school so get a chance to go by and we get the offer i was impressed thank you thank you we've got a lot of talented young people we're very proud of them excuse me i just want to say thank you i know you're making a difference all right thank you all very much thank you [Music] um represents the informants i'm not actually going to have tonight but it will be ready to email those topics dr robinson myself just as with our time together we've been briefed by administration um so what i thought i would do is uh send

037a form to you all with maybe uh two or three dates and then you guys cross-reference your calendars i think we did this maybe a couple years ago and line them up and see when people are available the thought would be the first half of the day would be brief from the admin team the cabinet on specific items and then follow that up with whatever topics you all had and it would also be a good chance for you know the admin team to hear what some of your needs and desires are so they can retool some of their plans as we move into the we'll already be started in the 2122 school year but without plenty of time if we need to with graduation just spend a few days all for three high schools i

038was reflecting that's the notes for elective for the last 16 months in the midst of the pandemic recovered 19 when others stopped and everything shut down and start meeting virtually just came right here i know you've taken a lot of calls received a lot of letters worked hard trying to resolve some things um but as a team that never stopped me we met in person every meeting and that's worthy to be noted you know i'm delighted to be a part of this team um working and serving for kershaw school district also um it's also need to be noted that dr roberts and his admin team that have been here around the clock over and over to make sure that we keep the students uh learning because that's been one of our main goals um team

039and student first and so i just want to say thank you for being such a faithful team i want to take them for being a part of it also dr roberts underneath head many colleagues pulled in all sorts of direction and that first year we was talking and discussing and planning on how to elevate the district from where we are to moving up to top 10 and then all of us have the tornadoes and the training so we had to adjust and readjust just to keep things close so on behalf of the board here tonight we want to say thank you for your dedication and your leadership that this plan presents you with a small token [Music] trustees okay yes i'm sure okay yes thank you [Music] we're just really blessed in kershaw county to

040have a supporting community even though sometimes we disagree on some things but in the midst of this pandemic there is no other school district in this state i would rather be because we did have the courage to come back face to face um we tried to jump over hurdles and and address the challenges that they came about and i just had this conversation with the cabinet today and that is we got a lot of phone calls from from the legislative body wanting to know what we were doing and that's because our teachers our staff and our community were doing such a tremendous job of trying to make sure that we provided education to our students but what that also does is it puts a lot of pressure on us to make sure that we continue

041to move forward and pool our resources in a manner to do that so i want to say thank you to the board for supporting the initiatives we've brought to you one of the key words i think we've tried to use and i know some of the cabinet members are here is the word pivot and we knew as things changed we wanted to pivot to make sure we were able to do the things that we needed to so just you know again i'm just a representative of a lot of great people so thank you um tonight's copit update [Music] is the best we've had yet the numbers did you know go up a couple it was much better even a week ago but today as of two o'clock when i put this report together we only

042had four students that had been diagnosed as positive and two staff members that i've been diagnosed as positive we had 23 students in quarantine due to close contact and really 90 of those were from one location one class and only one quarantined staff and over 7 700 students that have been back face to face that number's not changed for a couple weeks because we're stuck we've got two full days of school and two half days of school left so we just didn't have any more transition back and forth amongst the buildings i think that's a great thing and then the county the numbers are good we only had two new cases and our 14 day average is down to 57 and i don't know if you all remember once upon a time we were over

043600 so i think those are all good things on the next slide just our face mask update as a reminder um students and staff for the last several weeks have been able to opt out of the face mask uh indoors and we've had several that have taken advantage of that and our outdoor venues have been optional for visitors and for students and staff at the conclusion of the academic year which for us will be june 15 face masks will be optional for students staff and visitors moving into the next school year however we got that bridge of graduation and a couple things have changed just so you all know the chamber of commerce was limiting our venues and seating capacities for 50 they've removed that thank goodness for the time for the softball state championship

044because we would have violated that in the capacity but it's now based on fire marshal code for our indoor and outdoor facilities and face maps will be optional we're not going to attempt check at graduation at this point we're going to leave that up to our visitors to be comfortable um a couple of other things if we go to the next slide you'll see the dates for graduation and the rain dates that are included you know we are praying for no rain we had a conference call mary ann and i did with the high school principals this morning and all three of them said if it's just franklin and we get started we're going on we're going to get through the ceremony but you know it becomes a challenge for camden high school and about

045belgium high school just because they won't be able to get people into those auxiliary gyms and wellness centers for an indoor graduation we do have rain dates the rain dates for north central is sunday at 7 30. move up belgium will be at on monday at 7 30. i make mistake on my slide and camden high school is tuesday at 7 30 so we'll go sunday monday tuesday for the rain dates but what we're prepared to do right now is if we see a little bit of rain in the forecast we may slide to the right a little bit and just you know offset the start time so that we can still get the ceremony in because we know we have a lot of people that are going to show up north central again because

046of the size has no ticket limitations for their ceremony because it's outdoors and we now have both stadium bleachers that are functional camden high school has eight tickets and one of the things that they decided was anybody who's not using a ticket can turn them back in and we'll repurpose those to families who may want more google belgium high school has a 10 ticket limitation i mean again for them that's a seating capacity issue because they have more graduates and so that puts them at max capacity in the stadiums so if you guys have any questions for graduation what i would like from you and i know it's not it's kind of late in the game graduation was coming let me know what ceremonies um you're going to go to if it's just in your

047your district or if it's not i know mr mcdonald had said he's going to be parent but i'll remind you as a parent it's always nice to be on stage and give your daughter her diploma so i encourage you to do that i think mr and did that my first year here so that's always a pretty unique once in a lifetime opportunity and we'll have you all set up with your caps and beyonds and ready to go so more logistics to follow on that if that's gonna be what you want to do a lot of space on the stage is supporting you adventure high school update is i wanted um i wanted donny to give you guys a insurance recovery update because this is a sizable insurance claim um you all see that we've got

048a lot of work going on and i know billy's been sending some pictures out they're getting the pad ready and prepared and doing some work there and so making a lot of progress but it's such a big thing i want to give you periodic updates so we'll go financially so that being said i'll turn it over to billy thank you sir thank you mr chairman board uh glad to see all of your lovely faces and handsome faces again tonight um just want to uh update you quickly uh on north central high and north central elementary we've got some some big uh points of uh important dates uh milestones that we're hitting um north central high school as dr robin said uh the dirt's moving uh we're building the building pad uh and we're excited about

049that uh but next week we have a tabletop with osf it's happening much quicker than we had hoped and planned uh and this is to go over construction documents to hopefully get those approved uh sooner uh we hope to be getting a uh our bid documents out uh hood construction is gonna get us our uh guaranteed maximum price to assume hopefully about end of the month and so we can get that to you as soon as possible um and so i'm gonna switch over uh but we are having a tabletop next thursday which is a big step today at north central elementary school we had the uh first of two uh overhead osf inspections so i've been doing this all day looking up and seeing the wires were touching and the caulk was in the

050right place and all that kind of stuff make sure our schools are safe for those little ones that have been coming through for the years to come and uh we don't have any issues later on down the road for 50 plus years uh we will have another one of those on july the 13th and that will finish that up and then we'll start putting the ceiling tile in and backing down and just doing some touches on things and we are shooting for uh mid-september to late september first of october uh latest to have our final inspection and to get our once we have that and we pass that we will get our letter of occupancy and be able to move into the school yeah oh yes sir we hope you're moving in on the tent

051so yes sir yes sir um so uh at this point to talk about all the beans that we're gonna have to pay for it i'll turn it over to the greatest instructional beam camera in the world good evening everybody good to see y'all again it's been a while um [Music] i do want to mention just before i go to the north central high school insurance issue there's a it's great wonderful elementary school is so far ahead of schedule where we thought it would be it's a great thing it also brings with it some other issues and that is cash flow to pay for it you'll be hearing more about the plan for uh making sure that we have adequate funds uh to finish that off in the next uh probably about the next meeting uh

052next morning meeting that you have uh this isn't totally unexpected it was part of a contingency proclaiming the event this did happen it almost never happens as quick but we are really thankful that it did uh now going over to north central high school and where we stand it's hard to believe that uh that at this point in time with the time has passed um that we have only spent at this point in time just under 12 million dollars on that facility so far when you're thinking about the work that's already been done with the repair of the stadium to repair the gymnasium and all the repairs done to the auditorium uh you would think and of course that also includes all the cleanup work that was done prior to that and all the folks

053that were out there for so many weeks in a row uh we spent 11 million and 771 thousand dollars so far and this is as of last week this week but i don't think any invoices will come through now how does that compare to what the insurance company has paid us up at this point well they paid us pretty much all along and we were incurring those expenses uh they were very cooperative uh when we had large bills coming for clean uh clean up from belfort we don't remember that name of that company uh when we requested it they normally would send that to us before we had to pay which was a really good thing well they also advanced us a large favor you might recall back in uh november last year it was

054just almost 16 million dollars that we had talked to them about and said we're not sure how fast this is going to happen we don't want to be in a position the school district does not uh to have to fork out money and then get reimbursed so we we asked for in advance very very cooperative once again and advanced that's 16 million more so where do we stand today just under 31 million dollars they had sent us i remember what i said we spent just under 12. so we have a balance sometimes right now with this thing with this guarantee the maximum price it is done this is not going to be a hold up they're going to hit the ground they already are running you know if you see the work that's going on

055out there right now it's just alcohol it's really good to see all these things moving around out there so we have 19 million 221 thousand dollars on me and right then to get that push when it starts just yesterday with some outstanding invoices that were a little bit controversial uh that we had to deal with we got another eight hundred thousand dollars so that's an update for me last week of the additional 100 800 000. so they're cooperating so far we'll see what happens when the big gmp arrives so um once the gmp arrives and we continue but also a comment for the board to hear because i think i'm pretty accurate but we'll starting we'll start getting monthly pay apps from the contractor that's going to be a little over 2 million each payout

056is that correct it's going to vary but on average yeah so we've got money and the reason i make that point is we've got money sitting in there to pay those payouts for a while while we're negotiating with the with the carrier on this gmd right it's correct good position uh that's to be determined once we get the guaranteed maximum price that we'll be able to give you the grand total uh right now it's looking like somewhere around our working number is about 38 million for the remainder of it but it could be you know what's happening with building costs uh we've already you know i think you've already approved the steel contract because it was getting out of control that out to lock it in to lock it in so we'll let you know

057certainly um we're all kind of waiting on that number right now but it's not slowing the problem they're moving actually doing things a little bit out of order so they'll already have this stuff done when osf is done i might add in there so we've got a spreadsheet that you guys can see if you click on the link in your slide deck and it has our it has our revenue and it has our current expenses so we can see what our plus minus delta is so we're tracking this as we go and we met was it last week or two weeks ago uh last week yeah and just to make sure we had what insurance proceeds we've received to this point so we're not caught off guard we know what we got to continue to

058fight for so you know your password thank you thank you thank you [Music] um i just want to um go back to our public forums just for a moment for those that signed up we had great sign up so i need the address for one representative of the group so that we can respond to yet another time one person with this speech uh you're bringing in an executive session we discuss resonation retirement certified classified personal employment of certified classified personnel and assignment changes and transfer to certified classified personnel because they are most interested in administration recommendations been properly emotionally second in the discussion every now and all those in favor have you know about your left hand and that's unanimous it's a motion to journey closer to pride probably most similar heavenly father thank you
