We were having some issues with one, so they had to come in and check. >> Oh, so like a sprinkler. >> Well, that's some of the the companies their names don't really

fit what they do. >> Oh, >> they took over the company that did it before. So, um >> they probably have a second company that sprinklers. >> Yeah. >> That was going to be a question. >> Any other questions? >> All in favor? >> I Any oppose? All right. So, Have we talked about anything as far as >> well eagle's wings that's not is that this one too >> the high school one >> it it's all >> okay have they talked any

more about the high school side of that how we could >> either build it or >> I mean >> not not at this point in time that's that's where we're going to be talking about here shortly if we get into staffing and whatnot >> athletic director report looks like fall spots. Um two and 12 record for the sixth and seventh and the eighth and great seventh and eighth nine or five and nine. High school girls are off to a two and one season. Three conference games and three non-conference games left in December, including Prairie Farm and Clayton tournament. High school boys are off to a one and two. They have

two conference games, three non-de conference games in December, including Prairie Farm and Clayton tournament. Did they just start doing the girls tournament? Is that new? I know they always had the boys, but I never had the girls on North. volleyball practice starts in January. Coaching positions, track and field head coach position was posted. Um, and also the football for next fall. Couple people have interest in the position, but no formal applications yet. Sponsorship summit. Uh, let's see. Brought back following ideas to boost attendance by our students. Punch card for attendance. QR code to track attendance. Positive sportsmanship tickets handed out for candy or admission to an art game. Theme nights, camouflage, white out for games. List of positive cheer chance for games. We'll meet in January to pick at least one of these ideas to

tackle for the remainder of the winter season. >> Yep. Just with a whole emphasis on increasing student engagement at >> games. >> What do we charge students now? >> $2. Is >> Yeah. All right. So, is Ann here tonight or >> She is not. She's not. >> Anything in particular on this? >> Um uh just a couple things. We had Monasuri inclusion consult that uh came in uh did observations last week and did a debrief and we'll get a final report here in the near future. Um the uh Julie from just for her work and dedication with that before and after school program. She just she really puts a lot of time and effort uh to provide this opportunity for kids and she's a great asset to the district PLC uh team. um just making

sure that we're going through the fidelity measures uh and making sure that we're uh implementing our uh professional learning communities to fidelity. So uh going through that process and then uh starting into universal design for learning. It's it's a method of providing instruction that is inclusive of all learning styles. Um so just engaging more in that direction. So, [clears throat] and then she has list of upcoming events. >> Okay. Sounds good. >> So, um, still no on the staffing updates, it looks like. >> Yeah. So, I I know with the long-term sub, but we've got a couple interviews scheduled later this week. Um, and we've got two applicants for the uh 4K par professional. We can talk about that later with the agenda item, too. So, >> well, you might as well keep going. It's

your turn now. >> Sounds awesome. All right. So, getting into it. Couple things that we've got going on here. Um, first and foremost, concept development or concept design development. uh market and Johnson and RVA have u been in have collected a lot of information from staff and as well as as the board here as far as where where um where we see some deficits in the facilities and things that need to be addressed. And then what they want to do is bring together uh some staff members, some community members and board members and start developing uh the concept design for uh pushing forward to address the needs that were identified in those interviews. So uh looking at that week of the 26th of January um with the tenative date of the 28th. So trying to

put some of that stuff together here in the near future. Um, one thing that's uh come up legislative, we've had a number of things that have come up legislatively uh in the state, but it's going to be uh on hold as we go through the break here. But first one is uh under consideration LRB5599 and LRB5695 and that's just in response to uh the the legislation that was pushed through this past summer uh stating that there was going to be an increase in in uh Medicaid reimbursement for uh some of our s services like occupational therapy, attendant care, PT, speech, language and whatnot. uh that it was the anticipation is that that percentage would be 42%. Uh but according to the DPI's uh calculations, it's still sitting in that mid30s, which that's significant. Fortunately, it

doesn't impact us as much as some other districts, but it's still it it's money that we're not getting here. So, uh, uh, mainly, uh, Democratic, uh, uh, legislators are trying to push this bill, uh, to even or basically get the the refund or the, uh, reimbursement rate to the level that was stated previously. So, um, and then moving on, current legislation that was passed, it's act 74. Uh it says each school board, governing body of a private school or operator of a charter shall not or shall by no later than the end of the day on which a credible report alleging sexual misconduct. So it's a credible report, not uh allegations. So it's a credible report uh by a staff member. um if it's received shall notify parents or guardians of each pupil alleged to

be a victim, target or re receipt or recipient of the uh alleged sexual misconduct. Um and each school board shall annually provide parents and guardians with information regarding uh their rights to access records regarding school employee discipline. So th this is very fresh off the presses. um getting more guidance across the state and then from legal counsel as as far as what does that look like especially with the annual reporting. So >> do we know who at this point makes the determination whether something's credible or not? >> It it is I know we're still working through that piece. if it's uh whether it's title nine, I would say that uh charges would be a credible uh report. But then are there other instances where it would be deemed as credible? So so >> because I

can see where that would be a sticky >> it it is very much so. So I said it it's just passed within the past month here. So just trying to get an understanding of what this looks like. So >> yeah, I know in DPI they're going to be great about giving us exactly what we need. >> Well, so DPI does rely on on uh a a law firm that does provide some guidance, but then also our legal counsel just to to really navigate what does this look like for for districts. So anyway, we'll be getting that as soon as we can. Uh a little more information on cell phone bands in classrooms. So that was Assembly Bill two prohibits use of wireless communication devices. So it's not just cell phones. It's anything that's wire uh

wireless. So personal computers and whatnot uh are included in this piece. Um so just know that uh we'll be looking at our our current language and making sure we get things updated in that. Um, I know Dave's all over it, so should have more information on that soon. Uh, Christmas holiday break, the office is going to be closed um the or will be open on the following days rather the 29th, 30th, and the 2nd. So, and then the last one, uh, you guys received it u submitted my letter of retirement uh, last week. with my last day being June 30. So, okay, that's all. All right. At this time, we'll do public comment. So, >> Audrey, sorry, Audrey. >> No, it's okay. It's really common, actually. Um, if you could pass this up for me.

It should be six. It's just an updated itinerary of our fast trip with an updated funding plan and then a copy of the handbook is the last thing on that packet. Um, okay. So, I'm coming today as the representative for the senior class. We are hoping that the board could vote and approve the proposed trip today so that we can begin booking and lock in the quoted prices. Um, after I presented our plan for the trip to you on December 1st, administration came to us with a few concerns. They wanted the trip to be only two nights. They wanted the event cost per student reduced. They wanted the meal cost per student reduced. They wanted more rooms booked to accommodate chaprons having their own rooms. They said we needed to cover shops overnight cost unless

they are willing to volunteer. And they wanted us to move the trip to between the 25th and 28th of March. As a class, we have had to make cuts and adjustments to our trip in order to accommodate these requirements. We do not feel that these requirements should have been enforced as none of them are in the student handbook. Um, and we had planned our trip based on what is outlined in the handbook. Despite this, we have agreed to numbers one through five that I mentioned before, and have presented administration with an updated itinerary showing a twoight trip, a total personal cost per student of $45, which is less than the minimum amount laid out in the handbook, and updated the number of rooms. We needed to change our hotel in order to accommodate those requirements

as well. Our main outstanding issue is the dates. As we explained to administration, we planned our trip using the dates of the 18th through the 20th. We do not want to move the dates to the 25th to the 27th for two main reasons. Firstly, the later we plan the trip, the more likely it is to conflict with the spring sports um seasons. As seniors, we do not want to miss vital practices or potentially miss non-conference games. And secondly, the bigger one is after administration said that they only wanted us to go between the 25th and 28th, we did look into those dates. However, we found that going during that time drastically increases our overall cost by $898. I have a signed document by my class members stating that these dates, the personal cost and the

new itinerary are approved by them. I have also asked the senior class teachers to approve the dates of the 18th through 20th and all teachers signed the document. I sent administration an email stating these concerns on December 11th, but I have not received a response. Um, here is my copy of the classes signing that um they have reviewed the itinerary. $45 is the fine personal cost and the dates of the 18th through 20th worked best for them. And then here is a copy of the teachers stating they have a preference on our dates. Four said they have no preference and four stated that they would prefer our dates of the 18th through 20th. none preferred the dates of the 25th through 27th. And then I also have a copy here of the email I had

sent to administration on the 11th. On the back is pictures of the reservation summary showing that it's an $898 price difference. So my hope is just that you guys will consider voting and approving the trip, especially the one of the 18th through 20th, so we can save that $900 um and begin to book our trip as soon as possible. So, I'm going to leave this stuff here with you guys. I don't know where you want me to set up here, but if you have any questions, you can review. All the information [clears throat] should be in there. >> Okay. >> sounds good. Thank you. Thank you. >> All right. That's coming up later here. >> Yeah. >> All right. Moving on. Personnel recommendations. We have the the retirement of Mr. Popki here. Can I get

a motion to approve? >> All motions. Second. >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? >> All right. Moving on. All right. Donations. Got quite a few of them. >> Wow. Wow. >> Awesome. >> Um, can I get a motion to accept all donations as presented? Let me just read through. Do we any of these want to be not read out? Do you know? >> Not that I'm aware of. >> Okay. Who or what is the key ingredient? >> Uh that is a good question. Uh didn't provide name, but we have a suspicion we might know who that is. >> Oh, so >> it's kind of a >> Yeah. >> Uh so Beth Nickel donated 5,000 key ingredient donated to food service 1,500 and key ingredient did Closet, 1500. Christine Hensel food service

for is that right? >> Uh for $50 in our Sab Lutheran Church Women Christmas for $100. So can I get a motion, please? >> Motion. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I Any opposed? Okay. Wolfridge stipulations for students. >> So just had the stipulations that was a document that was with it and it's uh getting back to we had a presentation on Wolf Ridge trip and it was determination if board was going to support uh continued um attendance of that camp. >> Did they discuss this last Monday? >> We did. Okay. Well, can I get a recommendation? >> So, is this to approve the whole trip or is it just this document or >> So, it's it's the the document would be part of the trip and the what we would be approving

or not would be the trip itself. So, >> okay, I'll make a motion to approve the trip and everything that comes with it. >> I'll second. >> Any other discussion? >> All those in favor? I. Any opposed? Okay. Eagle fabrications proposal. So once again, this was a proposal put forward by Nick Abs um regarding a course that he wanted to offer in the spring semester. Um it would be fabrication of uh different materials taking orders and building a business model with that manufacturing and fabrication. >> Okay. Is there a cost to this program to be able >> there? There is there's going to be material costs and then I believe the scheme was if the student made certain money they would pay back >> the cost >> of the cost of materials whatever they did

assume by the >> talking to other districts that kind of lean against the distributing funds to students because it's hard to make a fine line as to where those funds are earned because we're using equipment that's run by the school using some of the school supplies that are used in regular classroom too. Um >> I thought it just went back to like the manufacturing. >> That's class like fund so that they could keep >> um Nick's request was from when he ran before the students earn the profits from it. >> But most of the schools and I spoke to um at my last finance meeting speaking to most of the schools they don't do that. They just put it back into the program >> right >> and then the tax location or probably something there

too. You got to track all that. That's just a whole lot more stuff we got to do. Then >> it could get a little more interesting. So So in the in consideration here, you'd be considering a the class, but then also b uh would be student compensation versus not. >> I would be more in favor of putting into a fund for like a scholarship. Well, I mean, part of this is to um is to train people to be entrepreneurs and if you're working for nothing, then >> we did have an entrepreneur class or something >> and it just went back to the entrepreneur. >> Yeah, I mean, you can, but his proposal was to have the students profit from the work they put into it. And I think we're only talking a couple of people

probably in a given semester depending on how successful the program is. So I I personally have no problem with them making something off this >> and that's part of the nobody goes into business to just give their money to somewhere else in that this is part of the training enterprise. >> I know two other teachers have also talked about a little bit trying to do something similar except just to and and to be able to build the program. Um, you know, keep up with supplies and upgrade equipment, maybe bringing in additional qu equipment. I think if we're going to start paying, we need to nail down how that's calculated a lot better than just looking at what they bought in supplies. And >> when I went to ing school. We did a similar type of

thing. We built trailers and random stuff. And at the end, all the materials were calculated and we were given a slush fund. It's like thousand dollars or whatever it was. And all the students got together and we decided, okay, we all want carart jackets. And we all ended up with a carart jacket out of a deal that said that money that we made paid for those jackets. a a consideration if this is a a sticky point if we could still approve the course and then just request more information on what that look like um with student compensation. So because I think the the thing that's under the time crunch here is getting the course approval, >> right? >> Yeah. >> Uh to get that started. >> So maybe just mod modify to leave open the

question of compensation. That's then we probably wouldn't even as long as the course is good to go. The compensation's going to come toward the end anyway. So I think we have time to >> we deal with that. >> Can I get a motion then? >> Second. [laughter] >> So Scott and Carolyn s if I may ask you what is the motion? >> Motion. Okay. I will motion to approve adding the new fabrications manufacturing course with at a later date we will decide where the raised money goes to. >> I'll second. >> And you probably just tell them kind of maybe try to figure out some kind of how that would work out, I guess. And then I guess maybe what on your end it's going to look like if that should happen. >> It's like

if they do a scholarship or something like that that's a little bit easier if it's Yeah. being >> because he said he had done it at Northwood. So I assume he has some idea of how this looks. >> I mean you could talk and see what they how they did it. >> Absolutely. >> Okay. >> Moving on. Senior class. Oh, we had motions. Um, all in favor? >> I >> Any opposed? No. Okay. Sorry. Moving on. Senior trip itinerary consideration request trip proposal. This is in this. So, do we do a motion then do question? >> Okay. A motion >> to approve. >> Okay. Can I get a second? >> Second. >> Okay. Discussion. >> So, what is behind? I mean, this is class fundraising money. Why are we limiting what they spend, putting caps

on? >> It's more of out of pocket for students. That was that one. >> Yeah. >> What what was the reasoning behind the dates? Do you know? >> Uh some of it was uh discussion about testing uh ACT and preACT. That was truly it. So >> is that still in effect or what? >> Uh that's going to be the next topic here. So >> okay. Can the testing dates be shifted rather than the class trip or >> unfortunately the the window that we have starts on the 24th >> to >> uh two weeks. >> So we have to do it on the 24th and then [clears throat] >> No, it's it the the window starts on the 24th. It goes two weeks >> for the 6th or >> of April >> or >> Yeah. of

April. >> Oh. So >> because the senior trip is the week prior. >> Yeah. So >> but they're not take >> they want Yeah. They wanted Yeah. >> But but with the the proposal the we would have the ACT and the preACT all done and then like middle school and seniors not present for that. >> Oh, if that makes sense. That's what we're going to talk about here on the next topic. So you wanted at the same time as the ACTs >> that that was the original discussion. Okay. >> So the seniors were dirty be out of the buildings. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Anybody else have any questions? >> Normally do we do a seniors during ACT when there's just time >> um or I I would say that uh our our time frame of

doing online testing has been pretty limited. Um in fact we started it up I think this is going to be year number three if I remember correctly. Uh previously it was paper and pencil we could do that at the community center no issue. Uh but doing it online which is faster and more effective or efficient I should say it has to be done on the school districts. So, >> and so we're letting middle school out during testing. >> That's going to be the proposal >> pretty much everybody but juniors or >> so what we would be doing is the ACT for juniors and preACT for 9th and 10th grade. >> Okay. >> Altogether. So, >> so it' be seniors and middle school are the ones you have to >> have not in the building. >>

That is correct. >> So, back to the senior trip. We have a motion and a second. Any other discussion on the senior trip as presented? I'm ass. Okay. All those in favor. >> I Any opposed? Okay. You're good. >> All right. Recommended approval for testing day for high school, middle school, students, absent day for the rest. >> Yeah. Once again, it was uh the ACT is the thing that really holds up the show. Uh there are three testing windows that are provided for the ACT. One is during our spring break. Uh the the second one is the one that we're looking at and the third one is just it's pretty late in the game and we're we're hot into uh Ames web testing and then uh which incorporates through third grade and then also um

just the forward completing the forward. So, >> so we're looking at >> pushing it back is just going to be more uh a more challenging prospect, especially when we start looking at the number of kids that would be online testing at one time. So, >> and this is just one day. >> It would be just one day. >> Okay. So, we're looking at the second set of test dates. Yeah, it it's it is the second window and um they've allowed some more flexibility because last year they had uh the you had two dates only to to choose from in that window and fortunately we they've they've opened it up. So now it's an actual twoe window that we can do it. Um the other piece is we would get all of the high school testing

done on that day because uh sophomores also have the social studies portion of the forward do as well. So that day it would be taken to knock all of that stuff out. >> Can I get a recommendation approval for testing day for high school with middle school students being absent for the day and seniors? That is correct. I'll make a motion. >> I will second. Any other discussion? All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Okay, sounds good. Safety plan consideration approval for safety plan update. All right. Once again, there were some updates. Uh some of it is replacing um the uh Alice with SRM and SRP that was updated. Uh once again that's u standard pro response protocol and standard response measures um that are more encompassing than just active shooter situation. So,

>> and this visitor thing. >> Yes. And also the visitors um providing clear guidance as to how we handle visitors as well. Can I get a highlight? >> That is correct. >> Okay. Can I get a motion to approve? >> I'll make the motion to approve the update. >> Second. All those in favor? >> I >> Any opposed? All right. Waste service agreement consideration. >> We have two. >> So there was uh our current which is waste management and then we were checking out republic. Um I did not we were not able to get uh some of that additional information in time year that was requested. So >> yeah, because we're looking to see if waste management would still do >> recycling. That is correct. Standalone service, >> right? >> Oh, because Republic doesn't do

it. >> It does not. That is correct. >> Or we have the ability to take care of our own >> and that they said Mark went and met with um lady from that handles that down there and she said, "No, we did not >> because this is That's from the dump. So that that's right. If we can bring this back until >> uh January. >> Okay. Everybody okay with tableling until January? >> Yep. We'll do that then. All right. Emergency sick bank use contributions. Um after a number of goes at this, this was the final uh draft based on the recommendations provided by the board. >> Can I get a motion to approve? >> I will motion to approve. >> Second. >> Any other uh discussion on it? Yeah. All right. All in favor? >>

I. >> Any opposed? >> All right. >> Uh, consider approval of technical corrections volume 34.2 technical correction. >> This is our second go at these. >> It is. >> Okay. >> Y >> and they uh Yeah. 2266 was that non-discrimination that is updated to reflect the previous with with the compliance officers being accurate. >> Right. >> So I'll make a motion to approve the group of policy updates. >> I will second. >> All those in favor? >> Any opposed? Okay. Bar School Business Services. Uh, taking a look at it, we did not get an official approval on this. I know we talked about it, but did not. >> Um, go one way or the other on it. So, >> so who would be the attendees for this then? Uh so what it would be is

Leanne would provide information and would u attend a was it a training? Yeah, it was it was something that would come together that would help pull the information that they would need to help uh provide the models necessary to uh for us to utilize and and do some forecasting. So, okay. >> I think at this point there was only virtual dates left, right? >> Yes, that is correct. >> So, you're talking about $4,000 looks like. >> Yes, we it would if anything it would be that base. Um I think doing the other stuff would be more than what's necessary. So, >> so this is an annual contract commitment. Um I'm just wondering if maybe it it makes some sense because you know we're going to bring in a new superintendent. So maybe that's something they're

in supportive. Maybe they're not whoever that turns out to be. >> Um I think normally it runs October to October, but they would >> it was Right. Right. It was November 1st to October 31st. Yeah. Is is the the general time frame. um which actually works out well with perin on a new person and it gives us that it gives the board and and the superintendent that opportunity to to fidget with some of the numbers and look at projections all the way up to uh the potential referendum date if that's where where we pursue it and it goes by year um I wouldn't anticipate needing it past one year so I did give a sample of the document that needed to be pulled together at least initially and I did um I did put that

information together and have it on hold. It was it was not much to put together. It was basically a report that I already had in our Skyward system that then they dump into theirs. So, we're just doing this for one time at least for now and we will revote on it if we do want it again. Right. >> That would be that would be an accurate house. >> I want to make a motion. >> I will make a motion to approve the school business solutions for a one year. A second. >> Second. >> Any other discussion on it? >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? >> I'm a nay. >> Okay. Pair of professional job posting. >> Yeah. Um, thank you. I know we've had this uh position posted and and we

were uh for quite a bit of time and we're getting frustrated with where it was and the the intent was to come to ask for some latitude as to how we look at this. It was posted as a full-time position. Uh and what we were considering is even looking at part-time availability. I would still request that. I know we have a couple applicants [clears throat] now uh for the posted position, but if that does not pan out, I would still like to have that latitude to go part-time if that is truly the only way we can get someone. >> The current applicants are for the full-time position. >> That is correct because nothing else has been offered at this point in time. So, >> but you don't really have any certainty whether they're suitable this

>> I I do not except because we literally just received. So, okay. So, >> I'm okay. Anybody okay with that? >> If they were part-time, would they just be on the 4K side or would they still be sharing with >> I I I know that Eagles Academy uh it would be a good thing, but I I know that if I had to prioritize it, the 4K would would rise to the top on that. So, But that's something that we'd have to try to work out here. So >> I'm okay with it. Anybody else have any issues with doing some that way to get somebody decision? >> Is there any other part-time >> there? There are no part-time. Uh we have uh another posting for the special ed pair professional that uh we talked about in

November here. So >> that is it. >> This is for a standard professional. >> That is that is correct. used to just be more. >> All right, that's convenient to close session pursuit of Wisconsin statutes 19.851c to consider employment promotion compensation performance evaluation data of any public employee over the over which this government body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. >> I'll make a motion at 643. >> I'll second I. Any votes? >> Yeah. to let me hear or out. >> Are you out? >> [laughter]
