Meeting of the Stoton Area School District Board of Education. Miss Darl, will you call the role? >> Mr. Tim Buban >> here. >> Miss Mia Croyle is excused. Mr. Jim Moser >> here. >> Miss Don Garcia >> here. >> Mr. Zach Masa Myers >> here. >> Miss Lisa Pew is excused. Miss Allison Sorg >> here. >> Dr. Sharon Milin Bartlett is excused. Student rep. Michaela Becker >> here. President Joe Patterson >> here. >> Right. Item number 2A is public comment. Uh seeing no members of the public in attendance tonight and I believe there were no written public comments submitted, we will move on to item 2B, the legislative update. Who is giving that this evening? No one in Lisa's absence. >> Okay. All right. Um, then we are on to item 2 C, workg groupoup
reports. And we have no workg groupoups that have met since the last meeting. So that takes us right up to item 2D, the student representative report. All righty. So, for activities, the Interact Club was having a toy drive at the high school, and I believe they received over 150 different items that'll be distributed through Dayne County. Um, students, a few students in student council had the opportunity to attend a leadership conference and that was held at the Fiser Forum in Milwaukee. So, that was a cool opportunity. And then um Congressman Mark Pokean um came in to speak to the AP government and AP his um US history classes uh last week. Um and then the Justify club was attending the Justify summit today and they do that annually. Um it's like from schools around the
area. >> What What's the Justify Club quickly? >> Um I not entirely sure. I believe they Do you know what their exact focus is? Sorry. >> Yes. So, Justify um Summit is a consortium of school districts in county that come together and the students prepare um a day's worth of like workshops and so forth talking about inclusion and equity and um belonging across the districts and what it means from a student planned by students from a student's perspective for students. Great. >> Um, and then for athletics, um, so boys swim is going to have a triple duel at home tomorrow and then girls and boys wrestling will have a duel versus Mount Horb at home on Thursday and girls basketball will face Mount Horb at home tomorrow. Um, girls basketball had their first win against
Portage on December 2nd and then I believe they had another win this weekend um, along with boys basketball and boys hockey beat Oshkosh 8 to3 this weekend. Um and then for the arts, so the high school band and middle school band, they had their winter concerts last week. Um the magical singers carolled uh in downtown Stoen uh last weekend during the Victorian holiday weekend and then had the 49th Magical Dinner on December 13th and 14th. And then there were also some chamber band and orchestra students who performed before the dinner. And then those four are the trumpets who performed during the dinner. Um, and then tonight the middle school and high school orchestras are having their combined winter concert. That is all I have. >> Thank you. Does [clears throat] anyone have any questions for
Michaela? >> No. Seeing none. All right. >> A lot of lot of good activities sailing into the for the winter here. >> Yes. Uh, we are then moving on to item 3A, Dr. Keyser's report. My report is we are in our last week before winter break and for all of our students and staff, it's been um fast and furious since the first day of school and wishing everyone um a great winter break. Safe travels. If anyone is traveling over over the two weeks, stay warm and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2026. All right. Any questions for Dan? Seeing none, we are on to item four, the consent agenda. >> Move approval of the consent agenda as presented. >> So move. >> All right. Moved by Sor and seconded by Musa Meyers. Is there
any discussion around any items on the consent agenda? Don for the resignation at Kagansza. Is this the person that they hired this year? >> Yes, this is a person that um was hired this year. >> So, this is the second fifth grade teacher that has resigned that they've hired there. >> Yes. >> Thank you. Any other discussion, questions, comments? All right. Uh, the consent agenda has been moved and seconded. There's no further discussion. I'll call a question. All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Any abstensions? All right. Consent agenda is approved. That takes us all the way to item five, recap of action items. I have none. Although I will circle with Lisa about a legislative update next time. And if there no other actions, we have uh future meetings. Our next board meeting
is January 5th at 6:30 uh and then also on the 19th. Uh we have a community conversation happening on January 10th from 9 to noon and then our legislative day is coming up in February on the 3rd and that's from 8 to noon. If there are no other items to cover, I would entertain a motion for adjournment. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Moved by Bubon and seconded by Sorg. Any discussion? All right. All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? >> Any abstensions? Meeting is a journ.
