001You better of America and to the other justice. Here for adction of agenda present. Second. Okay. I have a few things. Uh just wanted to start out with summer school. We had our initial signups recently. Uh very high interest. I don't know what the numbers are now, but in the first day we had a test of 300. So um our summer school beyond the grant was always something that we watched because see I know you weren't this but a number of years ago we got a pretty significant grant that helped us reit that was stringed at that time and then after the grant expired we had to pick and choose that we could continue afford to have um and it's it's been good since we've done that. So, it's exciting. We've got a lot of
002great offerings that encourages me as the number of staff that are willing to step up and teach summer school and want to build their own heart. How many of them are excited about summer school, that change of pace, the different relationships that they develop with kids, the different kids that they get to see. So, that's exciting. We still have kids that have continued to to sign up, but it looks like their numbers have been very strong to this summer. Um, I don't know if you thought it caught my eye. The second thing on my list was just talking about the the success rate of the various representative of the approval across the state. The the success rate of those dropped pretty significant from the year. I think about a 61% success rate. Some of the
003data coming back. People are concerned that the price of the their taxes, the property taxes, and um that's starting to impact that success rate. So that's something obviously that's to us and keep pretty good eye on that can change in three years to being as responsible as we can and hopefully that um legis the update that I had sort of the negotiations pertaining to the state surplus and how that is going to be used and spent down. I know we met with the legislators at at last Friday. There was a lot of excitement around a potential agreement. The number of things from rebate checks, tax exemptions and tips and overtime property tax relief, things like that. One of the biggest was increasing that a lot that is going to spend reimbursement and the assembly appeared
004to be pretty excited that they had started to do that with the governor that looked like it still looks like that may be a possibility but it's it's now working with the Senate to get that in today. They thought there'd be some movement on that. continue to wait and see if they can cash that out. But that might be pretty significant 200 budget if they do actually increase those to 50% just to the to the percents that they initiate. So looks like 200 million potentially could be dumped into that. So we'll keep an eye on that. Keep that. Um I want to recognize a couple of groups really quickly. We had a pretty successful event with down in Wisconsin with the FCC group every year. It seems like we had I think was it three
005that have advanced international on social media since I've been I always want to thank Alli for her strong leadership within that program making it exciting and fun for kids. They you know it's continues to be and she's doing a great job with those kids. Also want to recognize three individuals three seniors that we had that were the recipients of the YMC team character which I know Facebook that is there were 34 students across the north that that received awards um as part of the committee selection committee I don't even know how long this is to choose from but it was so long that they've been to the other students and seniors this year but two of our students been nominated for that and so it's received those awards last week and so kudos to them
006>> I don't think so recognition okay and then also wanted to recognize we have 44 students that participated in a recent nuclear competition we saw this we hope that we come up very soon did a story at it as well not just on us but other competition In general, we had a lot of success. I think there was first place finishers, some second and third place finishers in there. So, our students represented us. And lastly, just want to wish that for the 18 students that participated in Texas. um last and certainly not least this is last and so I do want to recognize her um 17 years of service to that 2009 I think you elected January and elected every serve as president and vice president and is definitely fearless with that policy committee which
007everybody knows that you seem to be a little bit excited about policies and I don't think you do have a little bit OF your second investment Thank you so much for any questions. Put the instruction for those who are. So this is a is a repeat and the reason we brought this back is there was a little bit of you know unclear language in our minutes when we approve this the last time but I think the intent was there to do exactly that but we wanted to make sure that it was reflected in the minutes moving forward. So we get a grant that covers one of these positions but the grant the grant does not allow it to be split across two different So this the club that is red to the point where it's
008good and high but in order to just make sure that separated that $500 to continue um because I think it makes it the high so this would other position allow us to maintain the two separate such So that just technically question second. Second discussion question in favor consent agenda set check for you consent agenda items. Nothing nothing. Motion to consent agend discussion. Motion favored. That means I could just student to mention that um all of our existing researches were considered. >> Yes. >> And then you have to come up and language intervention. It's successful. It's good. So, between transitions. So now we're in the process of looking at different resources for level threeventions approval for based interventions. So that could be Okay, it just sounded like >> to be honest because we have the opportunity
009to once we get this 25. >> Okay. I just thought it didn't Good snack. So, I have a question for Adam. It's not on the report, but I came across the trio academy and we're using that, right? >> Yeah. Just >> a parent, a grandparent bought me and I said I >> Yeah. >> So, it's just curious. >> Yeah. Um there's that part of this really great school. So we're going to at meeting last week and looking at how support you have tweak this and make it better. Stevehavior assessments and behavior plans. So she really specializes in that fine practicality of that responses to kids. So they're not just guests. You can't have too many resources. >> Green Bay. Sure. That's true. I just wanted to comment the return bag again. and also community service.
010>> Yeah. with us talking about it with them. I know we're going to be doing that again. But um people brought it up last year, but what she's Yeah, it's just it's really just for the kids and then we do the which will be next week. So the high school student the district 272. >> Yes, this is um preliminary is a preliminary seems to be changes and things that tweak over two years, but we try to make sure the biggest thing is still a couple years out of the people that have their long-term spin, the Christmas plans, that type of thing. So, we like to get those things out, but um but Obviously, we have a few weeks here. One of the things about this calendar that became challenging is we've always really tried to
011finish up especially now with how many staff members that we have participated in summer school. It's important that we try to finish this up on that first and there's not that many count. So, we did have to vacation in February that had to There are some things written after that because if you notice fall died in 2027 Friday that's a challenge for us. So we try to have insert state to keep the buses and the students out of those. We've had some safety issues in the past. So as of right now that stays there but we have a few things to mention that as far as push limiting that has to be put in. So there may be some things that have to revisit it but by and large I don't think we have the
012main things that people are looking for second discussion. Yes. So that's some options here that are presented to a personal committee to consider. Obviously healthcare insurance is pretty good. for districts across the state. So there were some options here that three put together for our consortium. We're part of a 13 schools together 13 13 school consortion. So we don't have full autonomy on the decisions that we make with providers and things like that. We have a third that consortium does keep health care costs relative some of the increases that they're seeing in schools that are not part of the consortium. Um the option that the committee landed on was option three which is you could have listed right which is the cost that they discussed the most cost but it also if you focus in
013pre that our staff would have to pay since that year. There are some things in there. And we can now over the course of a year is very close to the so the message that we want to say is respect. good financial sense because you don't pay what you pay out. You never go back. So take the money yourself in the banks so that it's there. So that was thection that so health insurance rates are not going to significant increase 12% that's not going to go up But if we can make a change now and keep that impact on the district that's instead the it's actually 1,00 36.76 questions. The question Looking for a motion for the purpose for the 2627 school year. action. Second question discussion in favor contract extension with >> yeah so
014there's no change in the contract itself through the extension actually communications with the best company potential reducing the number of things to consider there actually brought that up to us. So we think there is just an extension happy Motion to put second discussion contract for 26 27. >> Okay. So she said that contract is the as of yesterday finalization descriptions. Um contract is the it components pretty much to this last five years I would say. Um this one you see last year we had um first year. So that kind of some of those other things added because we didn't have those resources. Um this occupational therapist contract that's the difference I believe this year is actually the camp because we had 32 That's just looking for a motion to put this contract for the 26
01527 which is further discussion fed. So the next two jumped increase in breakfast contract service pretty significant deficit making a few changes some things and some cost savings is obviously food costs etc contributors to that so we have not used a lot of food places pledge to asking to add 20 cents to that. And you'll see in a second that what that does with that budget um as we get into that it's very necessary in this next food service contract. It still leaves us with the deficit trying to trim that deficit as much as we can and then put it on a food service balance which is not as They're probably going to have to increase food prices. lunch 295 instead of 275 the same breakfast. to approve the person discussion. Those in favor motion.
016Okay. So, so if you click on look at the budget that sent us. No, I think it's important to say this. When you see a student lunch account deficit, that's not talking. This is a contract that lunch services. Um, so through this, I think the bottom line is if you get to the bottom, you see that there's a 33,000 7 deficit. We cover that as 50 which we currently had $220,000 and we've been spending that years and we've been using that to offset a food cost. We are still doing that in the center. So if we cover that still exist with $177,2561 with this contract then we can cover that but as you can see that's not that's fun balance up to continue to offset prices that it's Next time motion further discussion in further
017before that because there are quite a few policies that haven't been reviewed since 2015. In fact, there are 52 of them that hadn't been looked at for 10 years or so. This last month, we have a list in front of you that There's 13 that I believe 132. Um there were quite a few that didn't have any changes that changes in two sentences. There isn't much change. Some of them are just technical changes. for next month. I really should have cleaned them up. So the oldest policies in 2015 have a list that looks like this. Um so the It's just a matter of societ ISO 23.7 and the revision is highlighted. So this is regarding special events by community volunteers and the section that's highlighted says any suggested activity must be presented to the building
018princip and then we remove through six and then we benefit to the district administered activity and I just wanted to make sure that that was the intent that intent as opposed to the principal. The principal says it's all of a sudden the princip that was it. that was being said. I just wanted to be sure that that motion to approve the policy further discussion. All those in favor? Motion favor. The policies presented here with that terms that have been deleted or they've been shipped to other policies because there are some of them that are looking at okay that's whatever. clear that up. We also did follow up looking at several other schools and other schools to make sure students are doing a lot of work on that stuff. So we're looking at a motion to
019the further discussion. I I don't have a comment that I I would just like to go back because I I didn't mention it in my report and I want to congratulate you and the part of that campaign. Senator Hoffman success representative. So congratulations to her and with her she's going to attend next week orientation which in case anybody should add members to attend that is on the It's at high school at 7 p.m. So, um you attended and if anyone wants to go any good transportation. So, um I I RSVP for that is 5:30 we can figure that out as well. So just let that come if you want to. Okay, I just have to say it's been an interesting educational something like this. My best friend told me I should have done those and
020that stuff. I would rather do things with kids and I had to do that and system things like policies updated stuff like that since it been 20 or 30 years when I first came on. um updated stuff like that just stuff like that 2020 but um years that but it was interesting personality but it has been very educational experience I appreciate it that you >> appreciate I just want to thank you to our volunteers to out including sports and Kenny Schultz. He's a volunteer for a school and started with a conversation. I was talking to him. I told him he was a good golfer being helping so many kids out for middle school and next thing you know the next days I bring to it. and encourage anybody to come and help. But it's so
021wonderful to have those people that just step up. I just all start over that doesn't come with everything else but it has been interesting um advisor groups or something like that. So, okay. So, I'm looking for just a minute. I'd like to personally thank K for service. I think she's been very trying to get some things done and I get very much uh as a matter of fact, I think uh in the future I think the board should consider having a I'm sure I'm going to stop there. Thank you. Okay, I want to thank everyone for coming. We're up to it 20. Going to the section. Session make me
