We're good, Tara. So, we're returning from our little break. It is now 8:00 25. We can move on to the public hearing on excess reserves for 2026-27 through 2028-29. Opening it up at 8:25. >> So, I think we need to officially open item five cuz we closed the public hearing before we um >> Oh, oh uh >> We just need to call item >> I just need to close it cuz I had opened it before you spoke. >> it before we left. If you just call cuz that was item four. If you just call item five >> Oh, got it. Okay. >> already discussed it and move on. >> Understood. Okay. So, back up to number five, the 2026-2027 original adopted budget in 2026-27 through 2028-29 multi-year projections. It's closed. >> Yeah, we just we

just discussed it and >> It was already discussed. Yeah. Prior to public hearing. Okay. And I'll reopen that public hearing again for the excess reserves um at 8:26. >> And seeing no public comment, we can close it. >> No public is here, so we can No public comment is here, so we'll close that at 8:26 as well. And we'll move on to the excess reserves for 2026-2027 through 2028-29. >> Okay, so this is a housekeeping and annual housekeeping item related to the budget that we just presented. As a basic Well, as a a school district in the state of California, we are required to report out any excess reserves. Um when they use the terminology excess reserves, they mean anything over and above the state-mandated minimum, and the state-mandated minimum for our district is 4%.

So, we're required to report out anything over and above 4% that we have left over at the end of every year. If we were a um state-funded school, there are legal limits on the amount of reserve funds we are allowed to maintain, and there are also triggers in certain years where we would be required by the state to spend down those reserves. However, because we are a basic aid district, we are only required to report out the reserves that we carry over and above 4%, but we are exempt from the spend down requirements. So, you can see the excess balances were presented in the original budget. They are presented here for both the current year and the two out years. >> Does anybody have any questions on that? Okay, I didn't either. Okay, great. Thank

you, Lisa. Uh, we'll move on now to the public hearing uh, on the 2026-2027 proposed EPA budget and resolution 2025-2026-10 for education and protection account. Opening the hearing at 8:27. No public comment, so we can close it at the same time. And now we'll move on to the 2026-2027 proposed EPA budget and resolution 2025-2026-10 for education protection account. >> Okay, this is also another annual housekeeping item, Prop 55 and the EPA or education protection account requires that we annually approve and publicly disclose the planned use of our EPA funds. For fiscal year 26-27, we anticipate receiving $157,114 in EPA revenues. These revenues are already reflected in the budget that we just presented. These funds are allocated to certificated guidance counselor salaries and benefits, which is an allowable expenditure under the EPA state law, and those

expenditures are already reflected in the budget that we just presented. Approval of the EPA spending plan fulfills the district's annual reporting and compliance obligations with respect to the EPA funds. >> Thank you, Alicia. [clears throat] Um so that ends the discussion period and um just as a reminder, these will all be on agenda next week. So if you have any other questions for for them probably got to ask it. Uh we can move on to board matters. Um the the big the key is next week's meeting. Uh any conflicts? All good? Okay. Uh any any >> The presentations are over. >> Yeah. >> [laughter] >> Okay, perfect. >> Can we Are there any other cuz I did have a cot banging that I fixed it. >> I was going to review for I was going

to say review the other dates and let's discuss them more uh next week if if that >> Yeah, I think I'm good. I just wanted to make sure. So I'll Okay. Thank you. >> College move in. >> [laughter] >> Perfect. Um so now we can move on to close session. It is now 8:30.
