021stating my sincerest appreciation for assistant sup uh Rios allowing me to resign in Lee of dismissal two hours prior to the last board meeting I thought my resignation would show I just resigned and that was stated on the enclosed resignation form I filled out signed and Miss Rios also had signed in my presence and uh nothing said about in lie of resignation it just said uh resignation however upon re uh receiving my personnel file A1 I saw more information added to the reverse of my resignation stating resigning in lie of dismissal there were also two personal authorization documents stating that resignation in Li of dismissal with an 83 red flag I was like what does this mean so my goal was not to have a dismissal after 1 16 years of service for if a

022perspective employer contacts sdhr for verification appointment I know they can also ask if I'm rehirable and I'm very transparent in my communication with everyone I encounter so I brought this to miss Rios she said the SD only gives verification of employment my kind response well what if a prospective employer asks um if I'm rehirable she said we have to be honest and I understand that I respect that you know if I was to be terminated okay um I was never informed I may be dismissed after four negative evals and have not had any disciplinary actions I had a few other negative evals over my 16 years which I should have addressed with admin two of them I did and admin rescinded those once they heard my side of what transpired during the day and I

023understand after a fourth negative um evaluation especially when the fourth administrator said supposedly I repeated this Stu to the students shut up all day so while waiting the 14 days uh for STA and admin to meet with me I was in a severely emotional and psychologically traumatized uh case in my life because I knew I did not tell Scholars to shut up during the meeting she said she wrote me up due to students reporting they felt uncomfortable with my teaching I wonder why did she have a different reason I iel why didn't she visit the class to observe my teaching and interactions with students she also stated she knows the students quite well because she's in the class A lot I wonder why is she in the classroom lot what's going on in the classroom

024the students know me very very well as I've sub when they were in third and fourth grade several times moreover when she wrote her letter and her decision making she stated she was glad to have the opportunity to learn of the severity of negative evils impact on sub teachers employment and wished me the best really she learned on behalf of me and my losing my employment also I haded me an emailed a teacher that stated that um she had no recollection of something that supposedly happened time iSell sorry thank you for your listening and consideration trustees this concludes comment cards for item 1.6 thank you thank you item 1.7 Public Employee discipline dismissal and release Miss Smith do we have anyone okay thank you moving on to item 1 .8 the board will consider in

036I I cannot um stress that enough especially since we have some students who are pregnant some of our students are like 6 feet tall 350 lb it's really nice to have tables for them um what I would like to to talk about though is is there a way for next time to get more teacher input on something like that um because we we're in the classroom we see how the kids struggle um that would be really great it it won't be for me because by the time you guys get new furniture I'll be gone cile all that good stuff but for the next group that comes in that would be super duper if we could get some some input that was it thank you so much again thank you for the furniture thank you next

037common card is from Miss syvia kantu [Music] ask for that Cola nobody knows it's hello I'm Sylvia kantu I teach at George Washington School um I'm speaking in favor of 12.1 um we have pretty good Furniture but it's kind of good to see that the Esra funds is being used for students you can see it so come August every one will off the street can see where the money is being spent I like it here's an example of a K2 classroom and I agree with the first Speaker I went Monday to um to look at the furniture they only had a Lakes sh P rep um I was hoping to have a district person I think that would be um also um there because the lak sh rep couldn't answer questions um I wanted a

038kidney cable I've been in the district for 33 years you know how long it took me to fight for a kidney table and I wanted to know if I was able to keep it and I was grateful to say that yes um we could because um teaching sixth grade we weren't allowed to order kidney tables you only can order certain materials that's why I wanted to have a district person there so that way we get there um no no offense to the lak shore person but they were like well you're getting new furniture but I was concerned because teaching sixth grade we have some pretty big kids I just need to make sure that the chair that I was watching looking was capable to hold some of my students and looking at that so in

039other words I'm just like I said very grateful that the Esser funds are being spent on our kids and in our classrooms thank you very much next common card is for Mr Tim Robertson regarding item 6.24 uh good evening president Stevens uh superintendent Rodriguez and the rest of the trustees uh thank you for your time this evening uh my name is Tim Roberts and I'm executive director of The sanen Building Trades Council I'm partnered by uh our president uh R Hernandez uh who's in the audience today uh here to celebrate uh the partnership that uh the school district and the local Building Trades Council has shared for several years now um our community Workforce training agreement has uh created many jobs in the area in fact uh just last week I visited the new uh

040Athletic Field construction site at Chavez and the uh almost finished uh livestock facility at stag to find local workers and SD graduates there uh including people that are very proud uh to be stag graduates and working uh in that in that building right now um really excited about that and our added capacity to uh train young people um our MC3 apprenticeship W in program uh is rocking and rolling uh as the uh the fast lane to get into uh Union apprenticeship programs that are 3 to five years earn as you learn uh Pathway to uh to economic freedom and thriving families uh and we are really proud of that uh the memorandum of understanding uh that um we have on the agenda today 6.24 is a natural uh extension and expansion of that partnership um

041one we're looking uh uh very excited to continue uh working with uh all of the schools here and the counselors and teachers to make sure that all of the students are uh aware and informed about the great opportunities that we have locally in the unionized construction industry um in fact uh tomorrow I'm excited to be making the rounds I'll be at three of the Comprehensive High Schools uh giving presentations on these opportunities uh to students uh and we are uh really excited about that we also have a MC3 apprenticeship Wess program that we're starting um just a month or so after graduation that we are really hoping to have as many uh recently graduated high school seniors as possible for that class to get them just just right into um a thriving career um and

042in fact we're we're proud that uh we already have uh three graduating seniors that have already signed up and uh been accepted to start in that course and we're hoping um that we can fill the rest of it with over the next couple of weeks so so really excited about that uh really excited exced about uh the district's partnership and spreading the great opportunities uh around Union apprenticeships uh and then finally that uh the last piece of this is that um we're uh in addition to that we're authorizing to work with the district to bring our MC3 apprenticeship Road Readiness class uh to Stockton USD so uh partnering with uh superintendent and the CTE Department uh bringing our MC3 class to the hopefully spring of 2025 hopefully we can get there where we'll have uh

043uh graduating seniors as they're graduating get that uh get that uh get that education uh and be um and be ready to go and join a union appr program as they graduate so thank you all very much we really appreciate [Applause] it next comment card is from Miss Sylvia kentu regarding item 12.9 hello um I just have some concerns on 12.9 on one of the companies um elvo um I noticed that um they start May 8th 2024 to June 30th currently they're at four schools that their contract ends at May 20 May 2 um 3rd um 5 22 May 22nd and um May 20th and may 244th that's one of my concerns I know this is R RFP process um I noticed that they scored a 25.5 out of 30 under um ability to vendor

044to provide the services 2002 is a very popular year but um that company was given on March 7th to May 26 2022 that company was offered a contract of 3.6 million of exra funds and they were to go to 42 elementary schools the reason I have concern because they didn't come to mine or any other schools so I've asked this question and I still have not received an answer did we pay did they receive the 3.6 eser funds for this at the time because they didn't provide a service um and if not where did that money go secondly um I'm like I said I have concerns because they're going to be coming to summer school if they didn't come for 3.6 million I'm just worried will they come for less than five half a million

045dollars so that is just my statement I have nothing against the company I don't know who they are but being that I know that knowledge I just think that you guys should know of that um that they did not come and serve our kids that's why I was happy with the furniture because that was something that we know the kids are getting because they help me order it but here for recess and we got nothing so that was it thank you [Applause] next common card is for Mr Jerry Gonzalez regarding item 14.5 with a cola my notes uh good afternoon Jerry Gonzalez Community member um also to be uh uh transparent I am now I guess by default the president of the bond oversight committee um so this item specifically uh 14.5 for Professional Services

046for program and project management for estra funed projects um you have I think a slight error it says 1.1 million but if you look at the contract it's closer to 1.2 million um so those types of Corrections in numbers are important um I didn't see and this is something that I haven't seen in a lot of these larger expenditures any kind of Matrix of competing bids and so I think it would be helpful to the public so that we can see how many people bid on a project and what those amounts were if they were scored however it is okay 1.2 million is a lot of money um there was no fee schedule in The Proposal that was submitted to the district uh so we don't know if they're charging $800 an hour for their

047principal time or $500 or 400 because it wasn't included in the fee proposal again I think that's a very important item that should be uh included um there were uh no contracts it was only the fee proposal that would be for someone's signature here at the district but I again I think it would be helpful to include the contract so that the community is aware of what the provisions are rather than them saying we're going to provide these services and the district I guess doesn't have any thing to add to that we don't know because it's not included um so this would also apply um I'm speaking on 145 but also apply for 14.6 and 14.7 because those did not include any kind of scoring Matrix or competing bids so we didn't know we can't

048tell okay um I I you know wanted to say that um we haven't forgotten the past practices and we don't want to see them continue um especially when it comes to transparency on how these monies are spent and uh that um I think it's important if in the future you include these types of things in your agenda agenda packages so that um you may have access to them but we don't and I think that's important that we do have access to them so okay thank you for your time no belief trustees this concludes comment cards for item 5.1 no item 5.2 oral suggestions and comments from the community regarding non-agenda items Abby will announce the number of non-agenda item public comments and request each person provide the public comment in the order they were received

049and Christina will be the timekeeper trustees we currently have six comment cards for item 5.2 first Common card is from Mr Willie Thomas regarding School Board candidates good evening School Board uh local teachers union opens interviews for school board candidate endorsement uh dear esteem members of the school board the school Teachers Association is pleased to announce that we are now accepting requests for interviews from candidates seeking endorsements for the upcoming School Board elections as advocates for Quality education and the well-being of both students and Educators we believe it is imperative to thoroughly assess each candidate's platform experience and commitment to fostering positive educational environments candidates interested in receiving the endorsement of the Stockton Teachers Association are invited to apply for an interview our deadline [Music] is oh sorry it's uh June 28th 2024 at 4M

050we encourage all candidates who are committed to the principles of educational Excellence equity and collaboration to submit applications for consideration together let us work together towards our bright future for our schools and our communities thank you [Applause] next common card is from Miss Terry Welch regarding Contracting with out of state SLP we talked about that last time still thect I see haven't solved it okay so remember the positives okay um so at my site we have students who are fortunate enough to have an in-person SLP um when you have students who have real difficulty speaking there is self-consciousness there is an embarrassment um you really have to have a bond a connection between someone because you got to trust them when you don't have that person in front of you when you're not getting that

051interpersonal connection it's it's very difficult and with some of our kids they just shut down and we have no nothing that we can do if they shut the computer down I think something like speech language pathology is something we really need to have in person not online um the other thing I want to talk about is fiduciary responsibility you have a fiduciary responsibility to your constituents to spend money wisely um it would be great since you're using California taxpayer dollars if you made sure that money stayed in California it would be great if it stayed in our community so that those dollars can be spent here um education is a public good that's another economic term I'm just throwing them out there um and the reason it's a public good is because there is not

052supposed to be a profit from it when you contract with out of state there is a profit made and again that money is not being spent here um I really implore you when you're making these these decisions to try and make sure that it benefits our kids and our community um because our kids work here their parents work here it would be great if those dollars were spent at their businesses or places of employment thank you next common card is from Kyle Moore regarding susd success [Applause] hello good evening excuse me um I'm just up here to say and encourage um it being May um 2024 and we haven't had um a agreement a collective bargaining agreement since August 2022 that's when our contract expired so um I am still hopeful and I am encouraging

053um whatever anybody can do to help this process move forward because our students are the ones who suffer because we're going to be losing out on on teachers who are going and looking for opportunities in other districts great teachers that I personally know that will not be here in Stockton UniFi next year um I do want to acknowledge uh Dr uh Rodriguez who came by my school uh today and it was the second time that she appeared uh on my campus and um I just want to encourage that kind of of listening and talking and discussion and collaboration because that's the way that we can best serve the students here in Stockton so hopefully we can get a contract but uh thank you for [Applause] listening next comment card is from Miss Sylvia Cantu regarding

0542022 no contract doesn't matter okay I want to give you a little background we're students and staff that priority in 2022 you already heard about elvo in 2022 um the board spent out of General funds almost $100,000 going to conferences um I couldn't tell the others because I don't know how much the csba delegate assembly occurred um no there's no agenda item when they went to Sacramento the California Labor Management initiative conference on June 27 second in San Diego there was not a um an agenda item but $100,000 General funds used for board members May 10th 2022 the board for a final restated purchase agreement not a contract with IQ that is why the FBI came didn't exist do not here um but you'll notice what I gave you here El consilio they were given

055$900 per student they went and said the reason was because our after school programs have a waiting list and we need this and we need this I spoke against this because they weren't they didn't even have qualifications but not either that they didn't make sense in 2021 we had 36 sites holding summer school 36 sites the board decided to have 16 sites that's where I listed right here so you can see it for yourself how do you go from 3,477 in 2021 and saying your goal is to have five ,000 kids show up when you have less than sites that doesn't make sense that's why only 2028 showed up that year this year so once I again is it for the kids then you will see that Taylor Leadership Academy they wanted an after school

056program the edible schoolyard pro project it was denied by the board you know why cuz it was free $787 is what board members make board president Cecilia Mendes gave herself a 62% raise when she ate $1,277 worth of meals no conference no training and we're called greedy the mayor of Stockton received a 7% raise council members received five 2022 we got offered zero that's why you could see why we're here wow when you see where it was being spent so we're not greedy we're not we stayed here last year especially during the FBI investigation so we'll be happy to take more than 2% between 62 because if a board president can do that and be okay over here then why can't the board then give the staff that really work and how to put up

057with all the investigations thank you next common card is from Mrs Stella Medina regarding school safety hello well I did want to follow Sylvia because that's pretty powerful but um and I it brings me no joy to be here today so I wanted to I'm not talking about bargaining I would though but um um last Tuesday I was stocked on my way to work on my walk after when I got to work I was harassed I was threatened that someone was going to beat me and called out in front of the school um also that person made three murderous threats in front of the school at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday Morning last last week um DPS was called someone came out there was a report made and then crickets I heard nothing else so I

058was pretty concerned I thought oh I'll make a few phone calls let me see who I can get to let me see who can give me some kind of answer nothing so I wrote an email I wrote an email to Marcus omlin maida Franco Brian Beerman I said and a very nice email I'm sure if you ask them they'll pull it out of their delete box because nobody answered me I got no response so if anybody wants to see that I can forward that to you was very polite I don't know I want some answers I want to know what's happening nothing um the last time I was here I expressed how embarrassed I was that teachers have to beg for a race now I'm embarrassed that I have to beg to feel safe I

059come to work and I have to beg to feel safe that person stalked me that person threatened to beat me that person threatened our children and I got nothing I'm sure someone is saying oh there's a system we're all looking things up there's things that we do and this and that well I heard nothing so the first phone call that I have received the first email that I have received is from the district attorney's office that I got just before I got here that's the first information that I have received so I I don't think I'm asking too much I'm um you know somebody could say well you're always complaining I've been here 31 years it's only the third time I've ever spoken at a board meeting I have a good employee I have a

060good record I have good evaluations I don't have drama at my school I work at a great school so I'm not exactly sure what happened but definitely the ball was dropped but I have 38 seconds so I'm not the person that likes to dwell on these things and that's not my personality so let me tell you what happened that was really good so my colleagues rallied around me they came they checked on me they said Estella are you okay what can we do for you number one um my boss Jenny and Heidi do you need a break do you need to go home because I mean we're talking about mental health and we're concerned about it you think it might affect your mental health if somebody threatens to beat you and kill you might um

061I have 10 seconds Mr C The Substitute that came to cover me so I go to a meeting I said look I was threatened today can you help me out he said I got you and he stood out in front of that school and he crossed his arms and he watched for me with his head on a swivel so anybody have Mr C subin at your school buy him a soda on me send me the bill because that's who made me feel good at the end of the day thank you [Applause] Miss president Stevens some president Stevens may I request that I be included in the followup on this complaint please sure thank you follow next comment card is from Miss Alysa regarding investigation lots of [Music] Investigations this is brought to you by FedEx

062not endorsed by FedEx um this is for Michelle Rodriguez because you weren't here throughout this time this past three years this is a primary source from the record sharing about when the community when Dr Miller dismissed the community and all your staff behind you about the disparities that corruption that your staff has been bypassing it's still here still not accounted for I stand with angelan today because she was the one who called for us to have Town Halls who called for us to have the vicma audit I don't really know what I want to say TBH but yeah you need to work with rant thank you next common card is from Miss Adriana crues regarding item I'm sorry regarding smart pass good afternoon thank you for hearing me again I'm here to speak on smart

063pth that has to do a lot with safety safety and safety I had to experience my student my former student murder at stag and I lost my colleague because she didn't receive the right support for her mental health she had to retire she had to retire because she didn't get the right Services after our student was murdered this year I've been assaulted twice and I don't see an investigation happening smart pass I'm putting myself to that training it's a device that tracks students through their ID their whereabouts they're coming in and out of classrooms we currently have a behavior chart that takes away an average of 15 to 20 minutes of lost instructional minutes to address a rubric that's standardized that it's not working teachers are spread thin counselors are spread thin administrators are spread

064thin if we can bring a smart pass that's tracking the students whereabouts and the safety and relieving time for teachers to teach for counselors to step in and know where these students are in and out of the classrooms you are taking our instructional minutes to address factors that are beyond our control accountability why aren't parents invited to chaperon their kids in the classrooms it makes a difference I have built relationships longlasting relationship with my parents because I invite them to chaperon I'm not seeing as a positive teacher we have I have I have so many parents coming in and attendance clerks get mad because I have parents coming into my class every single day if the if it needs to but it helps in the classroom it helps them know me as a person and

065not just as a teacher that has set rules that I have to follow by a rot break that is not working it's failing the system smart pass please look into it please adopt it please it's the way to relieve stress from everyone every stakeholder will be believed students will be safer knowing that there's accountability knowing that there is a system that's going to protect everyone we need a smart pass please if I am putting myself out there is because I have been assaulted twice this year and I'm still looking for Solutions and I'm still wanting to be part of the stakeholding and holding the parents accountable for coming into my class thank you trusties this concludes public common cards for item 5.2 thank you moving on to item 6.1 approval of consent items Abby will

066read the oral announcement does any trustee have any item they would like removed for separate consideration as an action item after any items are removed for separate consideration there will be a vote on the consent items without any discussion thank you we're going to hold for just a second while they clear out go look for that Cola [Music] don't [Music] okay is there a motion for item 6.1 does anyone want to pull anything to action I would like to table or pull Professional Services proposal to provide the program and project management U the 14.5 that just just the sixes right now so just the ones under consent okay yeah just consent are anything for consent you have trusty Flores anything for consent no anybody okay all right is there a motion make a motion to

067approve is there a second I'll second all right any discussion hearing none roll call vote president Stevens yes vice president colon yes clerk Dair yes trusty Flores yes trusty Mendes yes trusty Rico's absent trusty Zula yes motion passes 60 item 7.1 presentation key performance indicator kpi update for the 2024 School culture and climate survey by dror Jason Murphy director of research and accountability is there a clicker for this uh good evening president Stevens vice president cologne uh members of the board superintendent Rodriguez cabinet and susd school Community it's truly a pleasure to be before you this evening um this topic of school climate is something that's very very close to my heart and I know it's very close to the our district leadership's heart um upon entry into our district one of the key messages

068that I remember at our opening session was the goal of creating a positive experiences by changing our experience and that's what I believe this indicator is a powerful step in allowing us to do so I have the pleasure of being joined uh by my colleague in the research Department miss Karen Panetta she's one of our research Specialists and we're going to share on this works we're going to share on the school climate indicator kpi that's been developed we're going to connect that to um the local control prior 6 which is school climate we're going to share some of the Baseline results from our first administration of the school performance uh kpi excuse me the school climate kpi which is the Panorama survey we're going to share some of the comparative results for different stakeholders that

069were surveyed in this particular survey Administration and we're going to share some of the next steps the local control funding formula is not just California School Finance system it's also California's accountability system and a part of the accountability system is that in addition to looking for academic indicators such as graduation rate and and uh math and and and uh College and Career Readiness uh it also requires school districts and charter schools to evaluate the progress that it is making towards supporting schools and students in school climate to ensure that our students are being being engaged our communities are being engaged and our staff are being engaged in ways that creates an environment that allows our students to graduate in achieve our mission of our students graduating um College and Career ready and overall the most

070important goal is that our students and our staff are positioned for self-actualization in the vision that they conceive of and so this effort of collecting data for on school climate is a very important step in creating the EXC me the energy and the data to support that effort one of the challenges though with the California school's dashboard and opportunity is that while it calls for the very important effort to track School climate data it asks that that data be collected on an annual basis and while that's a great standard it's not enough to be able to allow the system to respond in a timely way to the many initiatives and actions that it is taking to try to support again our staff our communities our families and our students in achieving our mission so our

071district leadership um in review of feedback from the community during listening sessions superintendent student Forum continuous data Improvement conversations amongst District leaders department heads it was decided to that a need to develop key performance indicators was essential to have the data on hand to make adjustments in real time to be able to make adjustments at Mid years and quarter points and not just at the annual data point that the California schools dashboards calls for reviewing data collecting this data on a more regular basis allows for again for uh the school leadership and the district to reflect and make adjustments to our actions and services that are in support of our students and school community at a number of levels at a high at at the most abstract level supporting uh the actions and services and

072reflecting if our lcap goals are being met reflecting if we're making adequate progress toward our 44 priorities uh reflecting in assessing if our departments are making progress toward their goals and also reflecting in assessing if School sites are making progress toward their goals as outlined in documents such as the school plan for student achievement there are many survey and and school and excuse me data collection instruments that are already in use in the district to support collecting data on school climate for example there's an annual um parent uh engagement survey that is part of the first day packet there is the annual or excuse me the biannual California healthy kids survey there is the plus survey that's administered several times in a year however the opportunity came to our district with the Panorama survey to

073add an additional data point to help us get a fuller picture of how our community is doing by looking at data not just from our students but also from our staff and our families at the same time which is one of the first times that we have collected data in a way that allows us to look at those data points simultaneously if you see for up there that from our survey for our spring Administration we collected data from our students as well as teachers and staff and as well as our families Additionally the surveys look at a variety of data points Beyond School climate whereas the surveys that I former mentioned focus on a few indicators such as uh School excuse me growth mindset School climate sense of belonging the Panorama survey focuses on over

07412 different indicators across five different student or excuse me categories staff teachers students in grades 3- 5 students in grades 6- 12 and families what we did in order to support the survey being in a manageable feedback experience is we picked elements of the the survey that were most relevant to the stakeholder group that we were administering the survey however if you look at the center sense of belonging in school climate was administered to every stakeholder group because of your feedback coming from attendance and participation in the superintendent forums at the beginning of the year uh the student advisory committee and ongoing reflection of data supported looking at those two indicators across all stakeholder groups groups what I would like to do now is invite Miss Panetta to come and share out some of the

075highlights from the student results good evening okay let's dive in and look at the student results for Panorama oops okay and so one of the key areas was growth mindset there were two different surveys that were provided one for grades 3 through five and one for grades 6 through 12 um if you look at 3 through 5 there were more than 5,000 responses and 6 to 12 there were over 11,000 responses for the growth mindset for grades 3 through five 53% of our students responded favorably which in the National comparison we are in the 60th percentile so that's one of our strengths uh for grades 6 through 12 for a growth mindset 49% responded favorably uh however in the National comparison we are within the 30% percentile so looking at this data for grades 6

076through 12 if we disaggregate this data we can go further into the questions and which questions received a negative response and within Panorama there are playbooks that the sites can use to increase our positive responses for the following year I'm going the wrong way okay um for another key area which is rigorous expectations um both of our uh surveys for 3 through five and 6 through 12 responded over 50% however if you look at the national comparison we are in a 30 percentile for grades 3 through 5 and in a 10 percentile for uh 6 through 12 so that's an opportunity for growth right there and then for the teacher student relationships um you can see that grades three through five uh 6 2% responded favorably which puts us in the 40th percentile for the

077national comparison um however in the 6 through 12 it puts us at 47% that responded favorably um however in the National comparison we are in a 10th percentile so this is another opportunity for growth for our grades 6 through 12 and then for a sense of belonging um for our three through grades three through five um they are they do have the strength for both uh within the district and comparison to the National um Norms which is puts us in a 60th percentile um uh when you compare to the N to the nation and for grades 6 through 12 you can see that there is also an opportunity for growth even though 36% responded favorably we are in the 10th percentile for the national comparison and then here we go for school climate um both

078are close to the 50% for favorable responses however for the national comparison uh we are uh the 30th percentile and the 10% percentile uh this right here is a word cloud that was created for a free response for students uh grades three through five thinking about everything in your life right now what feels the hardest for you and the words that were picked up the most were mom dad and grandma um and then for grades 6 through 12 homework was the um the phrase that would use the most so looking at these word clouds we can disaggregate and see what students responded to see you know why are mom and dad and grandma the hardest is it because they're requiring the students to complete more homework or they're not there supporting them within the school

079uh for 6 through 12 homework being the uh largest response um are the students um do the students feel that they're receiving too much homework and so they're not able to complete homework on time and that's why it's the most difficult for them back to Dr Murphy for staff results so I wanted to take a chance to highlight some of our staff results we actually have administered to survey to teachers and staff so it's possible for us to disaggregate results for both teachers and and staff as well as staff at the central office or staff who are not at a school site but this is an aggregation of all of those data points into a total and one of the key trends that um we wanted to highlight or that we saw that was a

080favorable is that across all of the different areas that were measured in staff staff leadership well-being belonging and school climate nearly or over 50% and three out of the four over 60% of the people who responded to those questions responded in a favorable Manner and so and so we thought that was an overall strength and specifically wanted to call out that thank you that 63% of people responded favorably to questions about well-being and and when you look at that data point in comparison to the percentile 63% is also connected to the 50th percentile Nation nationally which means that our response is right on bar with other school districts Across the Nation now across some of our other survey responses for staff there are opportunities for growth for example School climate was under 50% so less

081than half the people responding responded favorably to those items and that is at the 20th percentile but that's an opportunity for us to dig in and find out what elements of the students excuse me staff experience are contributing to their response and engage those factors in our ongoing continuous Improvement efforts if I can just inter are we going to ask questions at the end of the presentation okay so similar to miss Panetta uh the staff was also given free response questions and one of the free response questions asked what has helped you the most in managing your work rated stress and the largest words in the center such as exercise stress breaks friends admin are examples of words that in their free response those words were used the most frequently and so this allows us

082to go and analyze those statements and find out in more detail what is the content of those statements and what are people saying and how can the district uh sort of double down and focus on the things that are working to improve the experiences of our staff next I'm going to switch to family results uh we also had the opportunity to administer family results and this was one of the survey results that we found that there was a lot of opportunities for celebration um if you look at the results across all four areas that were assessed um barriers to engagement family efficacy school safety and school climate over 60% of respondents at a minimum in all four areas responded favorably to those questions and at the top barriers to engagement 75% of people who responded

083responded favorably which we thought was a strength because if you go look across uh many different data points many stakeholder engagement and feedback opportunities engagement and opportunities to engage meaningfully has been an ongoing opportunity in ask of our stakeholders when provided an opportunity so we were really excited to see that 75% of of people who responded to that responded in a favorable way at the same time we acknowledge that that's at the 10th percentile which means that Across the Nation we're we're sort of at the lower end of that response rate but within the context of the district it's still an opportunity to celebrate similarly with other areas we noted that school climate is an opportunity for further Improvement or further growth so we identified that as an opportunity um it's 63% of people responded

084favorably to that item while it it was only at the 30th percentile so given that it was had a similar result against when compared to other areas we thought it was an opportunity for Mining and looking more deeply at that data more deeply at what each stakeholder group is saying and what are the opportunities for improvement so now I'm going to ask Miss petta to share some of the comparisons on the school climate so when looking at the school climate between family members students and teachers and staff um for family members and students from grades three through five um there was uh more than 50% favorable response rate um however for students between grades 6 through 12 and the teachers and staff uh we receive less than 50% uh positive responses um compared to the

085National comparison we are below than 50 in the 50th percentile so there are two straints the family members and the students between grades three through five uh and then we have opportunities for grades 6 through 12 and teachers and staff and so with the opportunities once you dis disaggregate the data um you can look further to see which uh responses uh were were negative to see where we can improve within this the school district and the site and we're really excited about the next steps of how this data can be used um again there are many different sources of feedback that are being used right now uh forums uh advisory committees um focus groups other surveys such as plus and healthy kids and family uh stakeholder engagement surveys but this survey we're excited because it

086it's administered uh can be administered numerous times a year year uh there are check-ins that can go along that can augment these survey results that can be administered at our need as the data dictates also what we should want to also mention is that different from our other surveys we have the ability to disaggregate this data at the subgroup level and look at different subgroups such as our English Learners students with disabilities African-Americans or racial subgroups we can also look at other stakeholder groups that are not typically looked at in surveys such as Avid students or IB students or students that participate in an activity such as a sport and see how they are responding to these items in comparison to the population as a whole this allows our district at multiple layers to engage

087an ontime reflection on their actions and services and how those are translating into customer service experiences at the district level it allows our district leadership to look at our ported for priorities it allows our departments to look at our scorecards and see in real time are the the things we're doing are the action steps we're taking actually translating into different experiences that people are living and speaking to and also at our school site level it allows our principles to engage in that same process with their School site Council they have access to this data as well they're currently using it as part of their comprehensive needs assessment to develop their school plans for next year and they have this data to share with their school populations to see how are are their populations perceiving their

088School experiences their staff their students their teachers and their families and what actions can they take in their school site plans to support meeting the needs of those respective populations and last but certainly not least this data can also support the ongoing reflection Pro process that's part of the development of the local control accountability plan so again thank you we're really excited for this data and um if there any questions we'll be glad to fill them yeah we'll go ahead and open it up thank you Dr Murphy and Miss P for um the presentation can you talk about you talked about being flexible with um data and not just using data once a year so what is the frequency frequency of this particular survey So currently we administering it once this year the plan is

089to administer it twice next year and we also have check-ins that we can ad administer which are small surveys that school sites can administer based on what data points are coming out from these larger surveys and those allow School sites and the district as a whole to do check-ins also um in addition to like doing different survey administrations this is the first survey instrument that we have that allows us to look at simultaneously staff teachers staff at the central office staff at a school site teachers at school site students 3 to 5 uh 6 to 12 as well as families across the same different thing that we're looking at such as climate or sense of belonging and we can further slice the data to find out what the different experiences are yeah yes good evening

090if I can just add on to what Dr Murphy was saying so this is our Baseline so hopefully this will be an annual um survey that we will send to our stakeholders and then like he was saying they have check-in surveys so we can get really focused on a few areas and actually put a plan together as a district and focus on those areas and then check in with them throughout the year if we want to do many ones because we don't want to give our stakeholders so many questions and so many things we want to be able to actually Target specific areas so if a sense of belonging is a challenge for us in a certain grade SP fan then we can focus on strategies to help with that on our school sites and

091if there's something that we're going to focus with our parents on Family engagement or their experiences when they arrive at a school to make sure they feel welcomed we can check in on those a couple times a year in a shorter time and then if we want to really drill down we can have sites do the same thing so if there's an area that they are really focused on they can do they will be able to have the same ability and just as a follow on that because the data is rostered to our students this is one of our first survey instruments that allows us to have data over time so we can see how groups are improving in response areas within our school system in comparison to other groups and also in comparison to

092the National norm and that's like an extremely powerful data point that I in my experience I've not seen it in our district and I haven't actually seen it in many other districts okay thank you any other questions yes I have a question oh okay she can go okay exra se My President asked a question and you responded and I really like it and uh I see that you did a lot of hard work everybody thumbs up I really appreciate it then you guys are getting close to the people I did put a lot of attention in you presentation and I really enjoy it and thank you for your hard work and dedication for stat UniFi District thank you thank you Christy Flores yeah um on slide 14 first off uh you know I have a

093lot of love and respect for the work that you all do I tell you all the time so um this is not a reflection of you or your work um as my questions are coming forward okay um first question is the responses from the 3 through 5 and the 6 through was those those questions like a multiple choice or were those that they filled in themselves yes they're free responses okay so they they physically typed in okay yes so that was one of my questions and then on slide 16 um the staff survey result summary um how many staff members do we have within Stockton Unified I don't have an exact number but I believe it's closer to four or 5,00 okay yeah so we have 4,300 staff members and this survey is a reflection

094of only 1,15 responses so I just want to point out that this is very minimum to me in response so it's not true data to me no reflection on you I know how difficult it is to collect data okay so let me give that disclosure but I don't want to give any false pretenses as to what is really happening within stockt and unified at that I want to acknowledge everything else that our district has been facing um and then on slide 19 we have um I restart it looked it up we have 35,42 students and the survey results are only a reflection of 1,374 so again I just want to make sure that we're not putting out data that reflects that we are all hunky dory in these and so uh these are more like

095comments cuz I'm the realist right I'm going to call the real out no matter what it is no matter what it costs me um we still have to stay forward and work and acknowledge um so with that I'm glad of all the work that you're doing and putting into this um but I do want to caution us to not applaud ourselves on this survey um leading that we're doing a great job um I hope that our administratives and Leadership takes this as as we have a lot of more work to do to get more responses from our community and not just put purple cake over a cake purple frosting over a cake that we know doesn't really taste that well okay thank you so just to clarify the last data that you point out is

096families not individual students so it's for households not students and can you talk a little bit about what can you talk a little bit about about um how you administer the surveys and then what happened when staff did not do the survey were they reminded to do the survey what did that look like with reaching staff sure so than thank you for your comments trusty Flores as president Stevens um I don't think Mr clapping back would mind me auditing our many conversations over the fact that these results are absolutely not enough and we are committed to uh increase the survey results our desire would be that all families all staff members feel comfortable to Sur respond to the survey um for this survey Administration we worked with our principles um we rostered our students to

097be able to take the survey during class time to increase the opportunity that they would have a higher response rate and we uh placed a survey link on the district website for both schools and families we placed it on our social media platforms both Facebook and Instagram uh we did Auto dialers um we worked with state and federal I know they um publicized the survey as well as a source of feedback on the lcap process and through all of those efforts um our response rate is what it is but that as you say is not an it's not an excuse to stop it's an opportunity and a call to Dig Down Deeper and to figure out more ways to make the survey more accessible um more usable more of an authentic opportunity to give feedback

098in their perception and our department is committed to that effort so thank you for that feedback and it is duly appreciated and acknowledged uh Dr Rodriguez yes so I just wanted to mention so this is the first time that we've done this type of survey so what I have seen in the past so I didn't use this survey but I used the very similar survey what we'll find is over time these numbers will greatly increase as people see that we're actually using the results to make improvements so in PB for example we w we were able to by the fourth year we were able to have over 15,000 responses um in um you know a fairly um well smaller School District um and so I what I will say is although we definitely want more

099um what we'll find is we will get more if we show that we are using these results for something because people will realize okay if we if I respond to this they're making actions based on this so therefore I should complete that survey so that my voice too is heard um and I think just a another thing obviously looking out the percentile rankings that's actually why we exactly provided the percentile rankings because it shows that in some cases even though our percentage is high our percentile ranking isn't high and so as Mr clap andback said these are Baseline so that then we can make concerted effort to increase it and know and be very clear with um where we are at the moment and where we want to get so thank you any other questions

100from comments who have not spoken trusty colog all right thank you um for the data I had a couple of questions for the slide on rigorous expectations what was the question that they were at um to answer there so there were multiple questions asked I believe there are 12 questions so some of the questions are there's a battery about four or five items some of the questions include my teacher has high expectations of me uh people have high expectations of me people believe I can succeed my teacher believes I can succeed those kinds of questions and there those are similar questions to other school climate surveys such a healthy kids survey but those are the questions that assess rigorous expectations okay now I understand and then I did have a question about the the free

101response um it it just kind of touched my heart when I when I read um when I read the response for third to fifth grade but then you mentioned you you gave kind of like a background story and I didn't know if you're able to know why did they enter these names or are you just kind of uh thinking so it's it's the actual sentence these are just words that are picked out from the responses words that were used Mo most frequently um so yes in the sentence so if you go um to the actual sentence you could read what they write and some of the things are very sad and some of our follow-ups to that as a as research department is we're going to go back through the free response comments and do

102some coding and seeing what are the actual themes that are coming out of those free responses and organize them into an infographic and work with Mr clapping back on that right now that was it thank you thank you all right thank you all so much thank you [Applause] okay 8.1 was actually pulled so we're moving on to item 2.8 public hearing I'm sorry 8.2 what did I say 18 oh sorry item 8.2 public hearing for the reopener contract negotiations for the 2324 fiscal year between stockt the UniFi school district and the Stockton pupil Personnel Association Spa in presentation for the sunshine proposal so I'm going to go ahead and open up the public hearing do we have anyone here making reports no staff report no all right public testimony no public testimony trustee comments all

103right I'll go ahead and close the public hearing item 9.1 approval of board policy and deletion of exhibit BP 5141 d52 is there a motion motion is there a second I'll second all right any discussion all right hearing none roll call vote president Stevens yes vice president colon yes clerk Dair yes trusty Flores yes trusty Mendes yes trusty Zulueta yes motion passes 60 item 10.1 board committee reports equity and diversity Abby R read the oral announcement okay board committee reports Equity diversity committee by vice president Sophia colon all right thank you um so we had our uh Equity meeting on May the 1st um we had some great discussion on uh two topic items uh we covered the compliance Improvement monitoring for significant disproportionality so cim for Sig is kind of a uh nickname and

104then we also uh discussed the progress update on the equity plan so I made some notes Here I want to thank uh Stephanie Reeves executive director of special education and Mitch Flores special education administrator um who gave us the update on our report um and so what this is is that um Stockton Unified was identif or had overidentified African-American students in special education categories uh in previous years and so we um in the last few months an action plan was created to address this um that action plan along with the first progress report was recently approved by by the CDE and we talked about um the action plan we talked about um three uh three points that uh we're going to be covering um the action plan was developed in coordination with general education so

105thank you to uh Ulin uh Isa director of curriculum and professional development um coordinating coordinating with our departments it uh is going to build a continuity of process of support that terminology so that we're all speaking that same uh process and and and Language School site to School site um a lot of what we talked about actually that that day it reminded me of things that we talk about in transformative Justice and and safety and back and forth and so that's that should be expected we want to do um good things at all of our sites and that we have support at all of our sites so we talked about uh the multi-tiered support system behavioral the Behavior Matrix parent engagement um and some of our school sites are following a pilot to scale model

106so we're going to be um piloting some of these changes at school sites seeing the success and then implementing it districtwide uh the progress on our Equity plan I want to thank uh Dr Rogers and if he was I know I saw him earlier I don't think he's here right now but um he gave us the update reminding us um that this is the goal six on the accountability dashboard board uh to conduct a comprehensive Equity audit with teams from all schools to develop a three-year action plan uh aligned with our lcap so the outcome should be a three-year strategic Direction and Equity plan with all indicators generated by our District staff students family and community so this is something that we are building together and as as he said we're going slow to go

107far so we're changing hearts and Minds it's not going to be easy it's not going to be overnight um but we I got like a little bit left so so they're going to all School sites talking about Dei discussions the work is in progress thank you trusty cologne run out of time okay close all right item 10.2 brief report on trustee activities Abby bre the oral announcement and Christina will be the timekeeper this is the opportunity for each trustee to make a brief announcement or to have a brief report on their own recent activities at the district pursuing to Brown act government code section 549-5433 there will be a three minute limit per report thank you all right we'll start with trusty Mendes thank you Madame President I would like to tell you then uh

108the parent reception for the parents was wonderful I was able to meet with the principles there talk a little bit uh introduce me the parents who I I know know from the community and how work uh the work they have done in each school they were telling me different concepts that they were doing how they were approaching the parents how they were doing the meetings how they working together and each school is just so different how uh uh the principles at uh go and get close to the parents they make them feel comfortable one give me even an idea then she will come in and say hello to the parents to when they have the meetings and let them be in there for a while and then she will come in and give a little

109update of what's going on in the school it was very lovely I really enjoy it and it was uh very refreshing to see the pack to see the de to see the migrant together receiving awards for the hard work and the dedication in every job that they do in the Committees it was wonderful the it was a wonderful event very lovely thank you all right trusty Flores I yield my time trusty Zula I'll seed my time as well trusty Dair I just wanted to share my experience going to the Native American graduation ceremony um at Hoover Elementary last Friday it was a very wonderful experience going there for the first time um shout out to the Native American Indian Center coordinator Destiny Rivas she puts on this graduation ceremony every year she mentioned in Her

110speech um addressing to the students and the families um that last year there was only one Schoolboard member and now this year um it was about four or five of us at at the graduation ceremony so um I'm really glad that they're getting support by the district um by the Board of Trustees um and it was really cool to see the performances there was drumming singing um and many of the the stars that happened at the community pow house that happened at and other um School sites here um they were also present so it really felt like a very uh Community School oriented um celebration so um shout out to Hoover Elementary and shout out to the Native American Indian Center for um creating that space for those um Native American families thank you all

111right thank you so much Rusty zir I'll go next so I think one of well not I think but one of the greatest resources that we have here at Stockland unified is the fact that our parents show up and support education in a major way um we can look across all of the schools that we have here one of the most impressive things is that our our families are extremely diverse so we have our e Families Our African-American Families Our sped families um really showing up in amazing way to support high quality education and to get their students um the supports that they need um the parent volunteer reception really show that particular piece how our parents have been volunteering for over 30 plus years um being recognized for the work that they do this

112year we've also added our migrant families to that particular piece making sure that they're recognized for the work that they do um showing up to build relationships and to partner with their um School sit so super excited for the work that happened with Dr Rogers at the parent volunteer um reception we know that that event is something that we do every every single year so we look forward to honoring our parents um sometimes our parents don't get the recognition that they need in other areas but here at stock UniFi they are a value part of um what we do here I also attended the NAACP youth Summit that was led by um our teenagers stock UniFi was there in full force um making sure that we support our kiddos across the board uh Dr Rodriguez

113was um recognized there you had left for but you had other things that you had to do we also had a meeting afterwards um but for the work that we do at Stockton UniFi to make sure that we do show up for our um young people we had the most students uh there at Delta College for the event so we look forward to partnering again with NAACP and the work that um they're doing and I want to give a huge shout out to everybody that showed up to the 1852 Foundation it was an amazing casino night I want to say thank you to Evette and Abby andr cha to miss Mesa um to the team here um that made sure that event happening to all of you who showed up who brought your spouses and

114your partners and your family members um and then I want to give a huge shout out to James who was our winner who took home the grand prize um it was actually his first time playing um at a casino night and he actually amassed $15,000 in chips so I thought I was going to be the winner but I was not um and Delia who came in second place and I'm going to say to myself I believe I came in um third place but that's just me I want a lot of money for our team uh for our principls who showed up for our front office staff to HR who showed up in huge numbers to our is team to mental health who showed up um we just had a a really amazing time I look

115forward to doing something for you all in the summertime too I think the momentum that happened within that event is something that we want to continue to move forward um all of the staff had an amazing in good times so we thank you for all the good work that you all are doing and we look forward to the high success of Stockton UniFi school district and I will allow our vice president to close it out all right in the last two weeks um I got to talk with some graduating seniors at Stag and Chavez and I was just so inspired by their hopefulness and optimism and we saw one of them today we talked about their interests next steps in their education we also talked about their support system and how they've learned to reach

116out when help is needed needed I got to catch the opening of the life skills challenge at the young adult program campus and again just seeing our students joyful and proud of their accomplishments it was motivating and just fun to see everyone having a great time I also attended the Native American graduation celebration at Hoover and again kudos to the Native American Indian Center for just a wonderful ceremony I was moved by the intention of the gifts that were given to the students and it was beautiful to see them surrounded by their family and encouraged by their family so rest assured we have some wonderful young adults ready to make their mark on the world so look out um uh I attended our volunteer appreciation dinner so you heard a lot about that but I

117want to say that afterwards I spoke to a volunteer who was just so humble she humbly said I don't really do much and I had to remind her that it's the impact that makes the difference because we each have something the smallest act even but when we put all those pieces of the puzzle together our students benefit and I want to thank my colleagues for attending some of those events as well as the 1852 um Foundation gala my husband and I had a fun time um this Sunday superintendent Dr Rodriguez president Stevens and I participated in the Cinco the Mayo parade and the celebration it's another opportunity to see so many people out I think there's probably more people out this year than last year just enjoying the beautiful day and I want to thank

118superintendent Dr Rodriguez for our one-on-one discussions so that's a responsibility I haven't yet shared here um but it's certainly a trustee activity so these are times where I can ask questions about District processes and procedures I can share ideas concerns and I just want to thank you for keeping the line of communication open and thank you for your commitment to doing what's right for children this is teacher appreciation week and today is the day of the teacher so I'd like to just take a moment to thank what of my own teachers who I had the honor of learning from when I was at Franklin High School I want to thank Mrs judge thank you for teaching me the value of Integrity the important of pro importance of process and to have fun and joy through

119it all and if I have a few last seconds here as we approach the end of the school year there are many school activities so for our working parents our working grandparents ask your employer about school activity leave it is a labor law since 1995 that grants you protected hours up to 40 hours each uh for school activities each calendar year so those Awards sumbles coming up graduations field trips parent meetings you know what if you need to pick up your kid for a conference they're misbehaving that's what school activity leave is for so please ask for it all right thank you vice president cologne a lot of good stuff happening moving on to item 10.3 adoption of resolution number 2391 start certifying specifications for of the election order is there a motion motion is

120there a second all second all right any discussion hearing none roll call vote president Stevens yes vice president colon yes clerk Dair yes trusty Flores yes yes trusty Mendes yes trusty Zula yes motion passes 60 all right item 10.4 csba assembly appointment is there a motion yes I would like to make a motion and I would like to nominate my president in the board K Steven if you would like to take this opportunity it will be very good for a district oh I do I shall we need a second sorry second I'll second any discussion hearing none roll call vote president Stevens yes vice president colon yes clerk Dair yes trusty Flores abstain trusty Mendes yes Trust Zulu yes motion passes five with one exstension from trusty Flores and an absent from trusty Rico item

12111.1 superintendent report Dr Michelle Rodriguez yes thank you so much so as we noted it is Day of the teacher today and then we have many more coming um throughout the rest of this week and on um so I mentioned that in my message to staff today so today's day of the teacher tomorrow is um School Nurses Day on and then we have on Friday we have mental health clinician and then we have on and on um also classified week coming up so I just want to mention something that um the human resources department they because we are listening to people I actually had some staff come up to me and say you know what we have NE we do not do Service Awards we don't recognize years of service in this District and we

122really should and so Glenda's team the entire HR team um said okay we will get it done and so we um this will be the first year that we are recognizing all staff who are at service years from five to 50 years with in fiveyear increments and um because we wanted to make sure and recognize people that maybe didn't have a chance since this is the first year we're ever doing it um those employees emplo es that are between 25 and 50 years um they will actually get their recognition at the closest 5year Mark so that um we have staff like for instance if they're at 31 years then they'll get the 30-year Mark um and so that is happening um to ensure that we are continuing to recognize our staff and recognizing the good

123work that they're doing um and then on Friday as I mentioned it is um we're going to be supporting our mental health clinicians we're going to be doing a group photo and um this month is mental health awareness month and so we talked about that but just some things that are happening this very week so um Monday um we are talking we work we celebrated the week of Wellness today is take the time Tuesday tomorrow is Wellness Wednesday where we're telling people be outside be active um because it will improve your mental health um on Thursday it is um coping skills Thursday and we're going to be um giving some tips on how to go through some tough times and then Friday is friendship Friday um make a new friend um and so um we

124do have 4300 employees and um we um appreciate each and every one of them and the work that they do um to ensure that our students have the Futures that they deserve so as was mentioned um we did have a great turnout um DPS was um right alongside us as um president Stevens and vice president cologne um we were there with um our band so we had Cesar Chavez band the dancers there we had stag behind us Edison um was in front of us and um so we had a great showing um there so we have a short video um to share on um that day thanks well today is about the community it's about making sure that everyone knows that we're here not only for their students but also for families in the community

125so we often talk about whole child whole family whole Community because we know that we to be able to ensure that the students have the education that they deserve and the Futures they deserve we need all of us and so it's so exciting to be out here with all the community um representing um our school district and the work that we do for students so whole child just means that we're not only taking the academic in needs that they have but also social emotional physical needs and then what we know is that we can't do anything for our students if we're not um supporting the whole family right U making sure that the family unit itself has all the services it needs and what happens with the family directly impacts our community and so therefore

126whole child whole family whole Community well we value diversity we value what our students bring to us so Stockton is one of the most diverse cities in the nation and so so we want to show that it's an asset and a strength for us and so we believe in our community we believe in our families um which means that we also believe in the culture and representation that they bring is that it for you yeah okay perfect all right moving on to item 11.2 adoption of resolution number 2388 a recognition of June Independence Day is there a motion motion is there a second I'll second any discussion roll call vote president Stevens yes vice president colon yes clerk Dair yes trusty Flores yes trusty Mendes yes trusty Zula yes motion passes 60 item 11.3 approval

137oversight committee since we did go through a lot to get that and we were scrutinized for that before you want speak to that so we need to process this I can have um our director speak to it but we do need to process it because this is dependent on us getting started on the shade structures and just so that everyone's aware this is using sr3 money which has the bond oversight has no jurisdiction over and so therefore we wouldn't take it to the bond oversight committee and I'll let you speak further to it that is correct superintendent um Rodriguez can you guys hear me says green uh that's correct it's not a bond project if it were a bond project then yes it would have to go to the bond um oversight committee um it's

138an Esser project and time is of the essence uh obviously for the uh spending of the Esser monies and also the uh shade structures which a lot of this is is uh procured for is of the essence to get all these kids shade out in um the schools for you know the hot summer months already coming up and I did just want to mention that the shade structures there's a required CDE Pro approval process which we did go through which is why time was of the essence because we had to wait until we receive CDE approval um we have now received that and so that's why we're now moving forward um so we have done all the processes correctly and CDE has approved um this project that is correct also and we are going we

139are currently going through the division of State architect for approval of the uh shade structures shade sales excuse me and this is only for the shade structures um and some HVAC work the H the 25 kitchens okay yeah anything else there was a motion already on the floor any other questions for the team go ahead go ahead I I wonder if in the in the future we could put that language in the in the description um or or if there's anything that we can make an attachment something that shows folks that we the process that we followed for CD sure when I guess for any project really so that people know for any project and just to let you know that um uh special services uh doesn't require um it's the state guidelin don't require

140procurement for special services like um a consultant yeah so I think part of the process to is making sure because our um our bond committee believes that whenever there is a project that's happening with facilities and structures um that they are to look at those I think also providing information where they know what will be looked at by the bond committee and then what is not specific to their particular group regarding facilities and processes I think that would be helpful for them as well yeah I agree and then also we had um our second Bond oversight committee meeting recently and I think just getting everybody up to speed and and how it all works and what the bond money is spent for is CR critical so that they understand too any other questions from this
