reminder, if you need assistance in Spanish, please click here. And this announcement of a closed-door session regarding public employees, discipline, dismissal, or termination, resulted in no action being taken. The topic 5B table test Lauren Chen as interim business officer and was an encouragement. With that, we move on to the next topic. Topic: oath of loyalty. We have students with us today. Please stay so we can take a picture afterwards. The oath of laad is led by FW Explorer. Welcome to Fairw. It's a pleasure to have you here. Good evening, President Peg Brer, Counselor, Superintendent Dr. Crossw and the school district community , Principal FW Explorer. We are proud to be here with me today, two students, Esteban Castellano and Sánchez. Esteban is going to take the oath of loyalty. Please stand up. Place your right

hand on your heart. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic which stands as one nation before God, indivisible, with liberty and existing for all. Thank you, Esteban. Yes, the district is located on the ancestral and unconceded land of the Mmaone tribe who have peacefully honored and cared for this land for thousands of years. We recognize that all members of the community continue to benefit from the use and occupation of this land. We recognize our responsibility to learn from the wisdom of the Olone people and to consider how we might work to redress injustices and move forward together in an honorable manner. Thank you teeth and thank you board of directors. Now we move on to topic nine, reports. First, the student reports. students of Civil M

School, Civil's high school. Good evening to all the counselors and Superintendent Crossway. We are eager to share events. I am Elisa Chen and I am a sixth grade student. The concert we had was a great success. We commend the band's hard work and dedication. It was very impressive, as it brought together the band and the orchestra, creating a dynamic and memorable event, unforgettable. In addition, the exchange students are here today and tomorrow. This program gives you a great opportunity for cultural exchange. During their visit they are exploring Stanford and several technology companies. This morning we also prepared breakfast for them. Finally, if we finish, I wish the whole team the best of luck. Good evening, I am and I am the captain of the tennis team. We just finished our game and won 63, and

it was revenge because we lost 9-0 last time. One moment that exemplifies our team was during last year's championship . Well, everyone was very focused and trying hard to win. What caught my attention was not only the dedication, but all the work. Between the bones they were motivating each other and preserving despite the obstacles. When we won that game, it was an example of everything we have achieved and how hard we have worked to achieve it. Uh, we're already in the next division. Being a team player has taught me a lot, but above all, it's that it's not always about winning, but about teamwork and everyone giving their best. I 'm very grateful for the community's support and I'm really looking forward to representing that month in the upcoming competitions. Good evening, I am and

I am vice president of that the second quarter has already ended. We will be holding the spring awards on March 24th, and awards will be given to those with a 3.5 or higher rating across all grades. We are working, we are planning our activity, it's good, it's like a dance and a social event. The school counselor has also helped a lot in developing our school culture, observing the data and sharing different perspectives as a family. Something that struck me was the success of disadvantaged students. Hey, we like to see that fairness. In addition, we have set up an online suggestion box to comment and give feedback on what could be improved. It's their way, a great way of how we can support them. And on behalf of everyone, thank you very much for taking the

time to listen to us and let us tell you about the progress of our school. students from Colombia Middle School. Good evening everyone. I'm Hector, I'm in eighth grade and today I'm going to talk about what I've learned lately, Abet and the different excursions we've been doing. In this, at Avid, the advanced classes are where we learn, work, and develop the skills we will need at university with different tutorials, and it helps us become more social by talking, as I am doing right now. Others, like sciences, are learning about different types of energy. In the English class of another subject, I wanted to explain why we are going to have a field trip to Abid where we can visit a university campus. Sometimes you learn a lot and it will be a great experience to

learn a lot. The last thing I want to tell you about is Abid's family night that happened a few days ago where we were able to show our parents what we've been up to . At the end of the night we show them how we do the tutoring. And the eighth-grade students showed them their work. The seventh-grade students showed them the posters of the units they chose. These classes have helped me a lot this year, and all the AVIT events and excursions helped me learn a lot about university. Thank you to the panel for listening to our experiences. Now she's going to tell about her experience. Good evening everyone. I am Gisela Aguilera. I am in sixth grade. Today I'm going to talk about some of my sixth-grade classes, uh, what it's like to play

sports, and some upcoming events. One of my favorite classes is Abed's class. I like it because it teaches us how to take good notes and how to be good students, and it has helped me and my colleagues a lot. I like social studies; it allows me to learn about different cultures and world affairs. The last subject I'm going to explain to you, we are currently learning how to find positive and negative numbers. Now I'm going to talk about sports. In sports we have soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball. Uh, I play on the volleyball and softball teams. It has taught me how to be a good teammate, a good partner, and how to support others while developing my own skills. I ended up explaining the events to come. One of the events we have every quarter

is the awards assembly that recognizes good grades. I like those awards more because it feels really good to receive recognition for being a good student. Another upcoming event will be a multicultural event on April 4th. It is an opportunity to learn about different opportunities that we have represented in CMS. There will be games, games, oh, food and events. Thank you very much for your time and I invite all students to come and take a picture with the whole table and the superintendent. All right, ready. We got everybody and I can see everybody. Yeah. Ready? One, two, three. One more. One, two, three. That's good. Thank you, guys. Thank you. Yes. Oh, please, grab it. Now we will continue. The next item is 9B, the superintendent's report . Thank you so much. Good evening everyone. Welcome

to our meeting. I wanted to thank my colleague for everything he has given us. Today we are going to recognize the future chefs of Sanivel, students who participated and celebrated their talent and creativity this year. This year our district joined districts from all over the country in this competition and our Miss Pegan Brter, Armando Roblet and Alia Robles were judges and we want to bring happiness to Abigael, a fifth-grade student from Lake who won. This will be on the cafeteria menus throughout the district. And we also want to congratulate everyone who took part, including Ilis, Linea, Philex, and others. And I want to ask Abigail and our table to go and take some pictures. You brought your hat. I love it. spot. Um, make sure I see. Perfect. Ready? One, two, three. Four. One, two,

three. Now we will continue. We want to recognize Sanosco School because it is one of California's Distinguished Schools of 2026. This reflects the dedication of our students, staff, and families to ensure that all students have the support they need to succeed. It is a good example of what we can do when we focus on equity, high expectations, and a deep belief in the potential of all students. I want to invite anyone who wants to come to the front so we can take a picture. It says here that an award is being presented to San Ibel Mosco, in recognition of his achievements. There will also be a state celebration. Congratulations. There we go. One, two, the one two ghost part. We also have cookies, lemonade, and tea for you. Let's continue. I have additional information about

after-school programs. Here you can see the difference between the last few years. In comparison to this year and the plan we have for next year, currently those eligible for ELOPS receive priority and any remaining places are filled with new students who are not from ELAB. In October 2025 we had a lottery for all students who are not eligible for ELOP and we wanted to create more support. So we are completing a pilot program in four schools. We hope everything will work out and we can expand this program. So last year we had almost 600, we have more than 600 this year, and the plan for next year is to have 800 students. I am pleased to announce that I must thank Dr. Cristina Valentine who wrote the scholarship. for an engineering laboratory. We hope that

we can begin construction at Salivel Middle School and that we can also have laboratories in all 12 schools. Many thanks to Applied Materials as well. Perfect, thank you very much. Now to the next 9C, the reports from the members of the board. This is any activity that the advisors have completed that they want to report on, anything you have done, a subject, an event, everything will be included in the minutes for this meeting. So let's start there. Hello. And I'm going to send all my activities. I realize that about two days after the last meeting we had an event, a celebration of the educational foundation. Ah, I was able to go for a while, but it was phenomenal. I said, "Ah, this is the best one ever." I think the most remarkable thing about the

students and the programs was that it was a community event, and it was wonderful. The other thing was that I went to a co-chair of Lunch Branch. I wanted to thank everyone for coming. I know Evelyn couldn't come because of work, but overall it was really nice to see so many people in the county who are involved and interested in law. I wanted to thank President Shan Broster. She's been scheduling so many meetings and so many things for us to participate in, uh, all office hours with the staff, which is something new. Michelle and I also went out with some students in Asamaas. I wanted to thank him for all his effort in coordinating it and encouraging us. to participate. The last thing is that I went to Dac. There was a lot going on

in the office the other night, so I attended the DAC meeting. It was very nice because there was teaching and learning there and the families were participating a lot. Um, being able to hear from Dr. Valentine, who did a very good job explaining everything, explaining where the materials were, and Director Maran, she also gave a presentation in Spanish. And I think that was also the interpretation. Most of the people were Spanish speakers. It was really nice to have more than just online translation or interpretation, but to have someone who was talking to them in Spanish and explaining the process to them. They could see that they were more relaxed, and she divided it, and there were signs. There were two women who approached me and said, "And what's her name? What does she do for

a living?" She 's a director, her name is Lor R, and they went to talk to her very excitedly, and I think she really made a difference. So I wanted to thank the district for doing that. That's all. There were many events, so I'm going to talk about some of the ones that Bridget didn't mention. All of them. Those were wonderful too, but I don't want to repeat Future Shaft, it was a lot of fun. I really appreciate everyone who organized it for CSPA. I went to the meeting with Patrick Harris, our state legislator. I was really surprised because not only did he say he supported it, but he was telling the staff, "Do this or do that." So what I told him afterward was that in all my years as a counselor, I haven't

seen a state legislator who is as actively involved in supporting education the way you have been . So I think we all know that, but seeing the level of support and these are all the actions I can take was phenomenal. Oh, the last thing I wanted to share is that we went to SMS during lunch and Bridget had a wheel where you could grab a prize and you had to say at least one of your wishes and another was something you'd like the adults to know. It was a lot of fun. Many of the students spoke about inclusivity at the school. Ah, I found it amusing when they talked about their wishes. One of them wants to be an accountant like her cousin, another student wants to play soccer at university. Another said they would

like the school to be a welcoming place for their little brother who will be starting there soon. There are some areas we can improve, and these are areas we already know about. For example, the children's bathrooms are not very clean. And another unfortunate thing is that some say there are many words that are offensive to different races, and these are things that several students mentioned, and that's why I wanted to share it here. And that's all. Hello. I already submitted my assignments, but there's a lot going on in Fairwood. We are preparing for the hike. We are working very hard to prepare everything. We are also preparing to donate to Goodwill. We also have many people registered. It's something very exciting for May 23rd. I attended the CMS PTSA meeting and the president this year

is doing a very good job of encouraging parents to come and be able so that we can hear their voices. If you could share your ideas for different events we can do. I'm so excited to be at CMS next year. My daughter is so excited to go on the CMS fifth-grade field trip, and she came up to me and said, "Oh, I can take elective classes, and we're filling out the form." Oh, I really liked seeing that. I also went to the mariachi show in San Jose with Dr. Valentine. She was very busy there. But I liked seeing all the different schools come and perform. They're schools from many places, like Salinas, and everyone was so proud. The choreography was so beautiful. I really liked seeing all the schools there, smiling and proud. I was

talking to some of the students, and one told me that I get up early on Wednesdays at CMS to go practice. So it's a lot of work to get up early and then go practice, but they say it's worth it, they love it, it was a lot of fun. It was at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San Jose. I also did my first office hours with Peggy. I really liked being there and hearing the voices of the staff, knowing that we can serve as voices for others to be heard, to be valued, to have support. The classrooms with the students, the students are in the classrooms. And we are supporting them in every way, and the teachers are with them, so they need the support. The principals need the support so they can support the

teachers, and we have to work together to do our best, so that the students can excel and so that they can do their best in school. Thank you. Um, it's been a busy month. In the last few weeks, we had our SMS event, and it was wonderful. There was a lot of community involvement, a lot of energy. Everyone did a great job organizing everything. One of the participants, whom I've known for several years, has been collaborating with us. He donated some of the pieces, and he's been helping us with the organization. That was great. Then we had lunch. The next day, Bridget did most of the work. It was a wonderful job. Many people were there. We had a very good discussion about education and how we are working to improve public education. I've been

working a lot with Class, P. There are many, many changes coming next week, and we're going to be working not only on those changes but also on our event. Unity. We're going to have a local organization. We, as part of the committees, are also going to support it. Thank you that they're now asking us for help to close the gaps, so we've written a letter about that. We have one with the district. We've been working a lot. Oh, and we're also excited about next month's activities. And we're going to work more on public education, and with that, we'll let you continue your report. Hi, I also want to commend the chefs' event, and they especially did a great job. It was a wonderful event. Thank you so much for your work and coordination. Oh, and

getting everyone to arrive at the same time. Everything was fantastic. Oh, I love all the QR codes, all of that. And I said, "Oh, that's Bridget." Something I've really enjoyed outside of our district is being able to go on the Hoffman Awards visits and to the different districts that won. Ah, I wanted to highlight some of them. Ah, I love the environmental literacy program at the county office. Uh, I was really inspired by their work. Another place I visited was Middle School, which is part of the elementary school district in Mount Pleasant. They have an initiative to improve the performance of students from different cultures and who are socioeconomically disadvantaged. Ah, that school has very beautiful murals. There are many very motivating words and I talked with the students and they are working. I asked

them if America has truly been able to deliver on that promise for everyone's dreams. I also went to Will Cox High School. They have a new student ambassador program , so for students who speak the same language as the new students, they show them around the school and help them. It feels like a community, and it's all student-driven with support from the teachers. I was really inspired to see those students, and I love that those teachers were paving the way for students to be leaders. It was n't always the students who were raising their hands for everything, but they could see that leadership. And then they can participate in this program. We began to see that they were building that trust and also celebrating multilingualism, that writing in two or more languages is a good

thing and it has really affected the whole culture. I was very inspired to see how they create community. The last thing I wanted to mention is that there are many wonderful things to do for Sandom at all schools. of walks, ah, uh, talent shows. It's something I sent to our group. I went to Lakwood for the talent show and they had a performance by Flor Clórico and I didn't know they had that show and they told me he was Coach A and then I went to Alice and he was there too, so he's at both schools. And it was great fun to see their work at both schools. I really enjoyed going to the schools and trying the food. Abi, I don't know if you're still here, but I love your food and how you

manage to do things. I would love to have that. I loved being in schools. Thank you so much to everyone who has come during our office hours. Thank you so much. We continue. We are on December 9th. We are going to hear about the educational situation of Sanibel, our union. If there is a representative from SA here, I do n't see anyone. Then, we continue with item E from the California School Employees Association , which is our classifieds, there is a CSA representative, I do n't see anyone. So, let's continue. 9F, uh, the Sanimel educational foundation. There is a report of There is a representative here. Yes, I see someone here. Hello everyone. Oh, excuse me for dressing very casually. Ah, but my message here is that having more gardens is a very positive thing.

I want to thank the district and the community that joined us about two weeks ago on what was about growing together. I really enjoyed seeing how we are growing together as a community, organization, district, parents, families, we are all growing together. I want to thank Superintendent Cross and speaking at the event, as well as Grant Burns and his team. They did a great job supporting us all at ALES, the administration and the students too. Everyone was wonderful in their support and to all who attended. It was a very nice event. I greatly appreciated the kind words and I want to continue growing sustainably in the years to come. I also wanted to thank one of the programs we love very much, and I'd like to remind you and everyone in the community that we've been

a great partner with the fifth-grade science camp, and we're trying to see how we can continue to support it, what different options we have, and I'd like everyone to follow the development with the renovations and potential disruption that's happening with Walen West and the science camp. We have a Google group and we'd like to invite you to join so we can know what's going on . We are not here to criticize, we want to collaborate, we want to think of creative solutions. So I wanted to send a message to everyone. We have a link on our website so we can also send you a link to register. We support the science camp because we believe it is a wonderful opportunity for children. It makes them curious, gives them confidence, and teaches them a lot. Ah,

we love having education for all students, and sometimes unusual times happen when we think about our own education. It's not always the daily routine, which we know is fundamental to education, but it's those special moments, the assemblies, the walks, all those things that made a difference in that they think that school is a place where they belong, where they can explore and discover something new. It feels different when we can do something with our colleagues and can see potential beyond what one can see in oneself. Science camp is a great opportunity for all of that. So with that, thank you very much for your continued support. I have money for you, but I don't have the check, so I'll do it during the next meeting. Thank you so much. Let's move on to the next

topic. Topic 10, audience comments. If any member of the public wishes to comment, please raise your hand online or hand in a slip of paper in person. This is an opportunity for the public to address the table directly on any topic that is not on the agenda. However, according to the Brown Act, the table is prohibited from approving anything that is not part of the agenda. It's 20 minutes in total. Speakers are asked to state their name and association so that it can be recorded in the minutes. There's a card here in person for James Ron. 3 minutes. Hello, I'm James R. I 'm a student and I'm known as Rana. I am an independent educator, but I work in outdoor education in different programs from Colorado to San Diego to Walten West, to Switzerland.

I am a product of the Sunnyville schools; Principal Iwasaki's daughter and I attended Sunny School at the same time. I also attended Cberlin Freeman High School and Theanza. I have a doctorate in education and a master's degree in business. And as I said, I have worked 13 times in 13 different free education programs . It's important because I just found out about the pending closure of Walen West. Like you, I am very worried. In fifth grade I attended Walen West and it was integral to my experience and knowledge. So instead of seeing them as problems, something I learned in the CNVille schools, not as a result of what I was taught, but because of what my teachers told me, was to create solutions. So, I have a solution. My proposal is that if Wen West

cannot operate sufficiently, then I, with my experienced team, could have an independent program without products that would provide the same services at the same cost as Wen West. So, uh, this was an advertisement. So, if Walen West can operate, then it has my vote of confidence to be the main program, but in the event that they cannot, then I encourage the district to contact me. Thank you. Any online comments? No. We've already moved on to the next topic. a public hearing on the consideration of an increase in payment for school facilities by the Senido scalar district. Tonight, developer payments are increasing in 2026. The rates are 320 per square foot and 50 cents for private installations. So we're going to increase it by 2 cents for the essential network and 2 cents for the commercials.

And this goes according to the other different ones in our arranger. This is supported by what is reserved for the 2024 crime studies. So, we start the public hearing at 7:34 . 734 is open to the public. and with no comments online or in person. We are going to close the public hearing. 735 ends. We move on to topic 12, the approval topics. Any of these topics is subject to review and discussion before approval. They can be brought out for discussion, and the public can approach the table if they have any comments. If you have any comments, please raise your hand or hand in a slip of paper; any comments on this topic are welcome. I would like to join a motion to test the approval topics 12a to 12e, or is there any topic

you would like to test? I propose to approve the approval issue, the second one. Everyone is in favor of Gañó. If there's Peggy, I'll be Michelle Evely. I know how to test topics of unanimous approval. Now we move on to topic 13, the action topics. 13. Approve the resolution of the District of Sivil Board authorizing the delivery and sale of the ah of the general obligation bonds in the principal amount which will not exceed 90 million dollars and authorize the execution of the necessary documents and certificates. Dr. Crossworth. This issue is about testing how to refinance a portion of the 2013 and 2015 bonds. It is intended to reduce debt. and it goes directly to those who pay district taxes and these bonds will be paid through property taxes and there is no impact on

the District General Fund . Yes, there are others who also gave us this information and can also answer your questions if you have them. Any comments from the audience? Can I try it? I propose that we approve this issue. Second, some discussion, that is, a clarification of how many bonds we have, that is, according to the measures we have tested, but I am seeing, that is, not from 2024, but we are going to refinance the 13th, right? Yes, that's correct. The extraordinary bonds that are currently being repaid are the 2013 Series A, Series B and 2015 Series C. Other extraordinary bonds are not eligible for repayment. This year it will be in the future and this results in savings for those who pay taxes, right? Yes, thanks. Because I wanted to read this, I mean,

I trust your system, but a simple way to explain it and how we can refinance and repay this in very basic terms, yes, I liken it to a mortgage where we can lower the interest on a current debt, which is what you are currently paying, to a lower interest rate . So, since we're not extending the mortgage term, that's the same; we're just reducing the payments on the existing debt, in this case almost annually, but in aggregate, like the total amount borrowed in 2014, 2016, and 2015. It 's simply a way to refinance the debt at a lower interest rate, just like a mortgage. Yes, I was just going to add that the market is very difficult. So I did want to mention that even though the board anticipates these refunds, our team will continue

to monitor and coordinate with the superintendent to ensure that there are sufficient savings. I just wanted to mention that because it's a question that comes up a lot. So, like, any questions you have, yeah, like, that's what I thought, but it's a lot of language. That's what I thought. So, thank you for the clarification. call sorry because I'm online. Yeah I know. I'll try the motion. Now we move on to the next topic. 13B. Adopt resolution R2622 to impose and increase school fees in residential and commercial projects according to Education Code section 17620. Yes, it's the information I shared with you earlier. It's an opportunity to address our development payments for 2026, at 12 cents for residential and 6 cents for commercial. If you have any comments on this action topic, please raise your hand

online or submit a form in person. Any motions to test this topic or any discussion? I propose to approve resolution R2622. Second, if there is any discussion at the table. We're about to vote. We'll start with Peggy. Yes, I had a question before voting. Is this like a standard increase that happens annually? What do we expect regarding these increases? Yes, this happens annually, but I'll give the floor to Brent Burns because he's the expert on this. When she asked the question, it might have been the first time for Peggyen. The first question is, the state meets every two years and adjusts the rates according to inflation and we have an agreement, we pay 61% and they pay the next portion. We divided this rate $35. So we paid 65%. They also collect payments for developments

along the river. There is still an impact throughout the district. These payments are justified by the report of the projectors. Come on, we're at the maximum allowed amount, and we're also taking into account the enrollment at each center. Yes, Mr. Bern, it's 61%. How is that determined? I say that agreement with Freeman has been in effect for a long time and those percentages are within my best estimate used in the number of students we bring to Freemont, and they have an agreement with Copertino and they pay the other portion. We are very fortunate to be able to use these funds because I know there are other places where they have to pay for all of this because there are certain restrictions, new projects. There are certain restrictions on how to use this money. We've been

able to combine it with new projects, but as I said, there are many districts that are collecting this money, but they can't use it. So, we are very fortunate. Can you explain how this money is used? If these go to a restricted account that can only be used for installations, we write the report and explain what they can be used for, sir. Often it's new modernization, new projects. It can also be used for outdoor spaces , especially those with TK Kinder areas. Anything else? We're about to vote. Peg yo. Me too. The topic is being tested. Now we move on to topic 14. Discussion topics. 14. Review and discuss the governance manual. Yes. Review and discuss the governance manual, Dr. Crossway. Yes. What you have at hand is an updated manual. We have updated the

information and would like your feedback. It highlights some of those changes, including updated maps to include the councilors' areas. It also includes a protocols section. It includes language about the visits of the advisors. It also has to do with the calendar, it also includes self-assessment, the updated self-assessment tool of the board and also updated language on the advisors' committees. If any member has any comments from the public, please raise your hand or hand in a slip of paper. No emotion, because we are not voting; this is just a discussion topic. So, please, comments or discussion. I sent an email and asked for the red line because I know there have been many changes and what was new is in the blue line, and seeing the final document makes it a little difficult to monitor the

changes. So if you can give us that before approving it, that would be better. But it's very good to have this document, especially if we have it before June, because if we're going to decide in June whether they're going to run, it would help with the search for candidates with the prophet advisor. It was very helpful to have this document on hand. So, when it's time for the information session, it's a good idea to have this ready, and at the governance meeting tomorrow we'll see if we can figure out, I mean, coordinate the time to be present or how to sign this. I think in the past, if we're going to sign in January when we change, I mean, who is president, vice president, but it's not a better idea. Perhaps the beginning of the

school year, as long as it's on the same date every year, that would help a lot because typically in the past, someone who has been at the table for a while, more than a year, would work on it with a new advisor and then present it again and discuss it. It's a good opportunity for those experienced advisors to explain the rules and ask questions. So, it's like an opportunity for mentorship and giving opinions. I've been on both sides and it's great practice. These are some of the thoughts we have. So I appreciate all the work. It 's difficult to keep track of all the changes. Yes, my question is, do we expect to finalize this at the next meeting? So, what is the vision tonight? According to their clarifications and suggestions, there's no urgency to

have it at the next meeting; we have a little time because, well, I have the old versions and I compared them, so I do have some ideas. So, I'll share them right now. That's what we used in the last governance meeting, which has the red line that Peggy and I created. My first thought is that I love that new page about state officials, but that shouldn't be the first page. Then I would prefer to have our promises on that first page and then on the page where you leave the unity of purpose and beliefs. Yes, right after the promise, the promise unit page. Uh-huh. No, we had two before that we are not going to tolerate all that discrimination. It's good to change it, but, I mean, yes, we do promote it, yes, we do

address it. So, if we want to remove that, no, but it shouldn't say, I mean, I mean, on what page does it talk about? Page no. beliefs we want and not ta ta I like. It's good new language, but it 's not very confusing. The two of us old folks don't tolerate discrimination, we do n't reject them, and they're good people, I mean, we want to keep them, but we just have to remove that negative thing, I mean, yeah, that's it. All positive language, right? In other words, the period says no, meaning, yes we will do yes. OK. Yes, yes, okay. We need to remove that "not", that word. Yes, related to that, we haven't talked about it much, but there have been meetings. I don't know if it was in their manual or rules

or somewhere else . Others have punished most for inappropriate conduct. So, I'm grateful that the language is positive and the new positives don't exactly reflect what they don't, I mean, they know what I'm saying, I mean, they want a " We want it to walk." Please, please, walk. But what was in the negative, not to intimidate, not to intimidate anyone. In other words, the affirmative statement is saying exactly the same thing. If we're only going to have positive language, there's another change we need to implement. You know what I'm saying? No, I'm just asking if we're not going to hide anything, if we're not going to intimidate anyone. He says we're going to promote respect and a safe environment, but I wonder if we have to say anything somewhere. So for me, saying this means

that we are going to commit to doing it, and for me, that already expresses that. So in my mind that responsibility still exists, but if I noticed while I was speaking that we have to say discrimination or bullying here because it only says discrimination twice or then I'm going to be happy. I think the intimidation element is important, so I hadn't noticed that it was discrimination twice. Anything else, and then who's going to be in charge of this? I think Jesus is taking notes, but I think you and Peg are still in charge, so he has a different document and that makes it more difficult, but he's talking about this document that I took notes on based on this other document. So if you look at the bottom of that page where it says superintendent

responsibilities, then there is a list that continues on the next page. I believe that about five pages later there is another part where it talks about the superintendent's work . So I don't know why we have responsibilities on one side and then work on the other. So why do we have that list of responsibilities? We need it. We talked about it, we said that we have to incorporate the language of the contract, but we didn't discuss it specifically and I do think that it is very repetitive. So I think we can remove that list of 10 responsibilities and only have the second list which I believe was written by GIEL, right? I'm feeling that way. Hey Jesus, are you taking notes? Yes. And then the next one talks about the responsibilities of the vice president

of the board on page 15. The second one where it talks about reviewing the package. I do n't think we have that. So we're going to consult with the superintendent, the president, to plan the agenda. Yes that's fine. Then the part where you have responsibilities talks about basic skills. I do n't know if we want it. We don't know where that list originally came from. Can you remind me which page? It's on page 15, along with where we've taken things from the superintendent's contract . We can also decide later. If I'm going to write a note. I believe that on the next page the protocols, processes, and formal structures of continuing education are discussed. Previously we had something that was omitted on page 17, the protocols, formal structures and processes at the end, oh it

talks about continuing education, so there are three things. We used to have four that said what you're going to try when you have to travel out of state. It doesn't matter to me, but I think it's important and it has to do with the policies, so I think we need to add it back. Can I give this to you later or do I already have it? And then collaborate with school communities. I think it's still on page 17. Number three, the superintendent must be notified . Before scheduling meetings with staff or directors. We had crossed it out before because I think no one should have private meetings, it just doesn't bother me that much, but it's what we had in our notes, I don't know what you think. We have private meetings, it's nothing negative.

I always say, superintendent, we're going to have a conversation with so-and-so about this, so let's leave it at that. But that's different. If they want to leave it, that's fine, but we had crossed it out before . I have a question. I believe that's a question for the superintendent. What is your expectation of being notified of those conversations? Because I believe there are different types of conversations in a conversation about a topic that has nothing to do with management. I think my question is why this was necessary before. There were some problems in the past before we became the advisors, but as far as I know, there haven't been any problems. I suppose he was there to protect the directors and their time, but I'm not sure. I believe it's good practice to notify the

superintendent, but when you're at the schools, people will talk to you. But if there's one thing that's important for me to know about these conversations so I can do my job, I'd like all of you to have that information. Perhaps we should leave it as a general guide so we can talk about it. This is difficult because it says this is before scheduling a meeting, but sometimes it just happens and we don't notify anyone that we were just chatting. I agree with the intention, but I wanted to make sure we have clear expectations about communication between us and Dr. Crosswith. I don't think this item is necessary. Ah, but I'm going to let Dr. Crossway give his opinion and do what he decides. I would like to remove it from here. I believe that notifying

the superintendent is necessary, so that I don't think it's necessary for them to tell me before scheduling meetings, that would be my recommendation, and that nobody is scheduling these meetings, but for something more casual we want to have something there. Ah, so here they inform the overseer about the conversations, if we have another section of communications, but if there is something that needs to be mentioned to the overseer , what is the conclusion? We're going to remove it. You got it, Jesus. I think this is the last straw. It's not a direct change, but it's in the appendix, I don't know on which page. Ah, but something, I know that later on in the agenda we might change how the agenda is viewed, so we'll have to adjust this according to the changes to the

agenda. I wanted to make it clear that we need to make those adjustments on page 25. So this will come back with the new notes, right? And then we'll try it. I see highlighted here on page 26 that we need to add details about the meeting end times . I think that's going to be open, so we're going to remove it too. There are also responsibilities of the advisors on page nine, there is a small section. Then it's weird, but I didn't print it, but I wondered when I was looking at it because it was weird. Then the superintendent's responsibility comes in, and then it goes back to the governance team, which is all of us, and then to expectations and organization, and then to the areas of the advisors. I would like all this

information to be more grouped together, and then the responsibilities are listed again on page 13. So I know if it talks about the advisors, then the superintendents, and then the governance team. But perhaps while we're talking about the advisors on the CSPA page, maybe this should be organized differently. You want to move page 13 where it talks about the responsibilities of the advisors because they have the same title. Pages 9 and 13 have the same title. I do n't know if there's a reason. Ah, so you need both. So, on page nine we would remove the superintendent, then page 10 would be what is currently on page 13, and then page 11 would be the beginning of the governance team's rules. And another thing we can consider is that they might have the CSP thing

as a link that Jesus has, right? So on page nine, the section that talks about the responsibilities of the advisors, is going to be a link to an appendix, and also see so that what's on page 13 is now a link to an appendix. Then, the other thing is that there are many documents attached here. Ah, yes. Uh, I appreciate that it's all in one document, but the handwriting is different. If there's an opportunity for us to , for example, talk to Cathy. I think it must have a package with the font we use. Oh, and what size, and if we already have all that developed, we've already paid for it, so it would be a good opportunity to use that across the board. It would be possible if we could make everything in the

same font. I also have some things, so there are some appendices at the end. Ah, like the calendar, I don't think they're applicable at the moment, so I'd like to remove them for now. The organizational structure is shown graphically, but some people are not. I was told it's so the board members can see the organization, but it doesn't make sense. I'm on page 54 at the end and I'd like to remove them. That's my suggestion. eh governance calendar. I think we're also going to make some changes to align with the assessments and the ELCAPs and make sure it's aligned with the district's priorities. So I'd like to remove it. For now, we'll be using these documents to show them to prospective advisors. Ah, but I think that would be more confusing, and that's why my

suggestion is to remove some odd things. There are also some duplicates, like on page 20 and then again on page 46. I think there are some things we can remove, especially towards the end of the document, like here on page 45. I don't recall us reviewing these protocols. That's the CSP part of the package, and I imagine that's what it was. It's something that says what all advisors should know. That was from the CSPA we used before. I think we shouldn't use it now because it's not right. Oh, and the language is also more fragmented and doesn't make sense when we were reading it. If we want to approve it, we should know when we want to do it. But I prefer to remove that ambiguous language rather than approve it. So Pego, if I

see, looking at the governance protocols. Ah, for example, everything on page 44. Yes, that's the area I was reading. So when they talk about responding to any complaint, they should look at the Brown Act. I don't think that's very helpful; it means not responding. And then the next one also on page 45 talking about communication between the superintendent and the counselors. I believe that was included in the protocols that Gel wrote. So I think there are a lot of repetitive things. But also, as you said Bridget, here are the responsibilities and then they are repeated later. I would like it to be more condensed so that it is clearer. So you're saying that starting on page it says governance team operations and everything after that, and then when we get to page 48 we want

to leave the directors' benefits unless it's somewhere else, but well, it's not correct, so we're going to remove it. I wonder if Peggy and Michel could review this section, because it should be like a summary or something. I think maybe I was the person who asked for the organizational chart because I didn't know, I didn't know all the people in the district and I didn't know how people were related and it took me time to understand it. So even though it's not entirely accurate, I'd like to know what teaching and learning entails, who the four directors in this department are, and their general qualifications. I believe that many other websites have it in other districts. Even with photos, they're not entirely accurate these days, so if we're going to keep them, we need to update

them. I agree with Bridget, we didn't have it before, but I find it very useful. I believe we should maintain it, but only update it and know that in a few months we will have to correct it again. It's very difficult to read. Ah, it doesn't print very well. We need to do it differently, change the format. One of the things we can consider is an appendix that we update every fall or summer, and we can also easily take photos and include them. Go ahead, I just wanted to say that I agree that it has the structure with photos and it's very useful. The page doesn't necessarily have to be here; we can make a digital version. So if we have it on the website where we're going to update it more often. So it

can be a link, and it can also be a list; here it can be a different format to make it look cleaner, and it can also be on the webpage as a whole graphic, so we think Michelle and Peggy should go over it again. I think the only thing we're going to review, I don't know which section, but I think the part that comes from CPA, I think we're only going to review that in case there's something important that we should keep. Yes, it's fine with me. I prefer to mark a printed copy. It's more difficult for me when it's digital, and I like having the company copy, and growing isn't your preference, but it's becoming very confusing because there are parts that we review. They are included here, and things that we didn't review

if we had done it the first time and it was included. So I'm surprised he's here again . I think maybe we didn't have time. We did n't have time. I think we decided that we weren't going to review that part. If I can go over that part with you, Michelle, and make sure the important parts are integrated and condensed so that everything is relevant and clear. And then we can include it in the marked version that everyone can see. And I also wanted to talk about the... uh... what's on page 43. I don't think it's relevant to us, so I'd like to suggest we remove it. I agree with you, P, that we should remove the calendar because it's very different, since Dr. Crossw, you, and Isabel can make the whole plan for the

year, but we can include it later. But as it is now, there are things we don't need, and it's difficult to read. I think there are many opportunities to do much better. We can organize it in a way that makes sense. There have also been many organizational changes, so I'd like to scale it back for now and then build more again when we have more stability, and maybe it could be a summer project for someone. So yes, I would like to talk about the timing, when we should approve it because it's very difficult to come in as a new advisor with this document and then we have to approve it, even though maybe you haven't read it, so Bridget, you mentioned maybe doing it differently. I do n't know if anyone has an opinion. I

think at the beginning of the year, well, because we are writing the whole document with everyone who is changing for the school year. When we do the review in December, what does he mean by "review of us"? Our reflection takes place in November when we do the self-evaluation, and then we vote in December. I believe that realistically we need time to review it. We should give ourselves perhaps the summer or the first part of the year so that we finish in January. That's the goal, but it doesn't always happen that way. I do n't know if we have elections every two years, if there aren't always new people, but sometimes there are, and that's the time to review, and then the following year when there's no election, then we have to update a little. I

don't care when it's done. Isabel, that's a good point. Who is there if it makes sense to update it in like February, or January or February, it could be like let's say this January or February maybe there are people, it is voted on in January and then there is another committee. Because this was so intense, they can analyze it then and then they have all year to update it and then every January, that is, it is updated throughout the year, it is updated in December after the incorporation of the new advisors and it is signed in January. Amos, this year we're going to finish in May and adapt it in May. If there are any small adjustments that need to be made before January, we can do them and plan to sign them at the

December or January meeting; logistically, it would be easier for them to have it in January than December, right? People in December usually do a little bit, I mean, right after the organizing meeting and then when and then sign it afterwards. Yes, it's from January. Yes, yes. I like that timeline of having it by May this year. Alright . And going forward, as originally planned, we will sign a new one every January. Does that sound good to you? Does it make sense? Yes, I think we all agree. And I also think we'll have, I mean, the resal of with the new members, because we have to present ourselves as volunteers and collaborate with them and make sure they're ready to sign it in January. So I think I'll have more experience then and we'll continue with

the established plan. Very well, thank you for that. So let's review after 24, page 44 and other changes. The superintendent will do it, and moving on, we have the next discussion item, 14b, to review and discuss the 2627 board meeting schedule. Please note, this is a copy, a draft of the 2627 schedule. We took into account different conferences, superintendents' symposiums, and it is also an election year. And one more thing, but to improve transparency for the public, what you see is the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, and this has nothing to do with extraordinary or governance meetings. I do n't know if there are any comments from the public, please raise your hand online or hand in a slip in person. There are no comments. comments, discussion, questions, opinions. August 27th is during

the CSBA conference, right? Yes, I think we have the wrong dates. How long does it take to approve the calendar? Normally we have time. As long as they pay for it before the end of the school year. I recommend it like in May. In other words , the earlier we have the dates, the easier it is for the staff to work around those dates. Axa conversion. It's the last week of January, it's a meeting in January. Then, and we would also add the dates of governing board meetings before having, that is, those data meetings and also study sessions and exal meetings as needed, but this does not need to be proven. That's no longer the ordinary meetings. Yes, these will be the ordinary meetings. And they can also identify some dates for governance meetings if

they wish, that is, we can do it however we want, but past practice is in years when there were potential new board members, we have a more intensive summit meeting at the end of January to develop that team. We should add that too. Yes, that's a good point. If, for example, the president, vice president, and other officials want to implement different retirement plans before the school year, or in January or February. The sooner I know, the better, as a prophetic advisor too, because we also have to coordinate our personal schedules, right? I am willing to do this, but I just need time to plan. And more than that, it's flexible. Yes, the end of January. Yes, it 's typically the last week of the week, ending on Friday, February 5th. That would be a good

date for the governance meeting, I mean, that retreat, right? A governance meeting, rather, and also in April. We're going to have to move that one because it's the spring break meeting, the Thanksgiving meeting, and the holiday months when there are fewer meetings. That makes sense. Ordinary matters. I asked, and what's the story of July? I had a meeting in January, which is the story of that. Yes, it's like the rest month for that summer tour, it's the retreat month, the only year we had it in July, but that was just that and COVID and also the management retreat in July. leadership. Yeah. But um I want to go but I don't want to go but I want to go. So see I'm going to myself up to it. Um but cre agosto es mejor para

mí. Closer to the school year. If we only take a few days, that would be ideal. I could do something in August before classes start. So we can remove the 27th, but keep the 13th of August. It's the CSBA conference. I was also thinking about Nishihara's past, about giving us information about hiring before classes started. It was a long time ago, wasn't it? I remember it was maybe during COVID, but we needed a meeting before classes started. So, August 13th, when is the first day of classes? The 17th. First day of class is August 17th and staff is on the 12th and I don't remember exactly maybe some training we have to do, but, I mean, we approve the new contracts because they are signed and their approval is like the last step. Alright. I

was going to ask the board staff June 10th June 22nd. I know that in past years it takes a little while to move them around because having almost two [unclear] normally we need more than two weeks to talk about the budget and approve it. It would be June 10th and 24th and I don't know if that's enough time to do it, maybe we can do it on the 20th and maybe we can save it, but the staff should stick with that date. I suggest that Dr. Crossw, along with Isabel and me, maybe we can look at the calendar, the different documents, the reports, and the schedule. With that, I know that the meetings were scheduled according to those documents and such. It would help me to see what those mandatory things are that we have

to have so that there is enough time for the staff to do the work without feeling overwhelmed and falling behind. Yes, the reality is that we have to work around the dates of the active table. We will always have different deadlines throughout the year. Transparency for the public is easier. On the second and fourth Thursdays, the board will have its meetings and something might come up tomorrow, but if we see a leadership retirement in July, I want to make sure there's also an MC meeting before that to align priorities and such. that we stay on top of it so that there is clear guidance moving forward. In the past we have seen that there is a plan for such a thing, the administrative team is already working on it and the board is already late

and it shouldn't be like that. And I see there's a new lineup, but that's one reason why the board thought about it in July. Maybe it's something we can talk about either in May or June. Yes. Um, how we set goals and evaluate the superintendent, and that goes with a presentation. And since the superintendent's evaluation is done throughout the year, that is, planning, they are planning for the following year. So, we have a meeting in July and it's too late. In other words, we need to discuss what will happen next year now in order to set goals and make assessments. Yes, we almost did it last year and I think we're going to put specific points. So I feel that even the leaders, and hopefully we'll be together as a team and align with the

governance team, right? For me, a meeting right beforehand isn't necessary; I mean, maybe convincing him or reviewing it, as vice president he can be part of that planning process, commenting and all that. The superior can ask for our opinions, but I don't feel that they are already achieving synergy and we are almost there, I mean, a meeting in July would be too late. I think we're in a very unique year, as we have a new superintendent who hasn't even been in office a year yet, so we don't have a set rhythm when the boards are meeting, and also the evaluation and rest with the district priorities and the evaluations of the other administrators. So maybe we should talk about it more when we discuss the superintendent's evaluation and see how it aligns with the schedules.

This way we have time, as Dr. Cos said, with this calendar that generally works well, the second and fourth Thursdays of each month seem to be working well. If we cut on the 27th, we should have two meetings in August. In other words , I suggest having governance on August 20th. It's not enough to just say the dates, my schedule is fine for now, but as Widget said, if there are extraordinary or governance meetings, we can, we have to promote them on the calendars to ensure that we are all there. Regarding the governance manual, I think I read that the boards are the first and third, but the second and fourth. That was the old manual and we discussed it at the last governance meeting, but it wasn't changed. So that's all I was confused

about. So we want to add that governance meeting from August 20th . Yes, okay. Because governance is like our foundation, right? The plans we want to share and take advantage of, like a study session, right? Yes, we can incorporate it. Well, one thing, when I spoke with the board of directors of preparatory schools, they approved a calendar per calendar year in case there were new council members, so they would have the dates going forward. And that really interested me, and I don't know if that's something they can and can't, I mean, we as a team could change according to their needs because the community chose them. that ordinary meetings would be very difficult to change in the short term with little notice. When we talk to the candidates, let's say, these are the dates, these

are the dates for the extraordinary meetings and some flexibility, but the ordinary meetings are set according to the LCAP. So for me it really helps to see it and say, well I 'm going to be able to attend, I mean, I should show up. Yes, I only mentioned it because I had never seen that before and it interested me. In other words, sometimes we do change the times to accommodate the schedules, but not the dates. When I introduced myself, I mentioned the dates, well, I can do this, but not this. And I said, well, should I show up or not? So, thank you for accommodating my only change and rescheduling the meeting . Okay , so , let's move on to 14 C. reviewing and discussing the format of the board meeting agenda. Dr. Crossith.

Yes, so that they are aware of it. Some suggested changes to the agenda format, all of which we continue to discuss with student representatives. It would be important for them to be here. topics of action and other recommendations. The action items have more priority with discussions, presentations, or public transparency; these should be done at the beginning of the meetings so that people don't have to wait to comment. But another thing is that instead of waiting to comment, since they're coming later on the agenda, the first public comment of all, they can comment, they know more or less the time and they don't have to be there for two or three hours to address the table before deciding on a certain topic, just a few things to consider and then see what they think. And finally,

along with the calendar and agenda format, we also want to update the statutes and policy to align with the governance manual and the statutes. I do n't know if anyone in the audience would like to comment, please raise your hand or submit a form. We can begin the discussion. Yes, it's a good idea to put action topics first in the audience comments. Perhaps we can separate it by section, that is, action topics all together, comments all together, discussion topics all together instead of having it at the beginning. Yes. Peg presented, so, I mean, I like the greater accessibility for the public because, like Dr. Jos, they can come at the time to comment on something, even if it's on the agenda or not at the beginning, and then they have another opportunity to come back

and comment on something, but instead of each specific thing, it 's just one opportunity for everyone on ABC, right? So, there are several opportunities, but it 's also more predictable for people who want to come and participate, especially if there are children, because they don't have to wait 3 hours to speak for only 3 minutes. And I also like to have this with the student members and also the issue of approval at the end and then the discussion and action at the beginning that would benefit from the students' feedback . and a clarifying question. Then he says that normally things that aren't serious are for anything on the agenda and also public comments on each topic or not. Yes, that could be done. Audience comments for anything on the agenda, including things that are not

on the agenda. But he had an opportunity to address the table directly and didn't have to wait until topic 13 to 14 to comment, but separately we can also provide additional opportunities to comment when we go through topic by topic. But what Peggy said meant that people wouldn't have to wait until that point. So, for example, if there are seven action topics, they can talk about them first instead of waiting until the seventh. I think it was from Cupertino, and they said, "Yeah, there are a lot of cards. And a lot of people, everyone wants to talk. So, like, comments at the beginning, and then agendas, like, extra comments in case more than 20 minutes have passed, so they wouldn't have to wait to comment generally because it would only take 20 minutes. Then, if

there were more than 20 people, they would have to wait until the end. Yes, I worry a little if they also comment on each additional thing too quickly, but I see if some topics, maybe they would comment on something that isn't on the agenda and then want to talk about something that is on the agenda. They want to talk several times. Like, let's say I come first at the beginning and then I say I want to speak. I had that question, and if not, how do we keep track of it? That 's my concern. If I have it, I like that they have options for when they speak, but my concern is the logistics. How are we going to see that Bridget already talked about this thing, so now you can't speak again? But maybe

someone arrives late, so..." There are pros and cons. The public needs to have a timely opportunity to address the table, but they don't have to do it twice. The way we do it now is that we have comments for the closed session, then for the consent agenda, and then for each action item and discussion. But another option, to make it easier for families or the public, is that they can do it all at the beginning; they don't have to split it up. Then they'll have another opportunity . You have to push the red button. Once they speak at the beginning in the public comment, they say what they want to say, they can wait, as mentioned, and then comment again, or they're finished. So it depends on the format, and they can say there are

multiple opportunities or only one. That's why we're confused. I think what we're asking is, if we let them comment at the beginning on any topic, and then during the action items, could I talk about the same thing at the beginning and at the end, or are they going to limit me and say I can only talk about this once, at the beginning or at the end, and I can decide when? We can say they only have one opportunity. Yes, they can say that, but no They can limit a person, because we do have people who talk about different things. So if you only give them one 3-minute turn to speak, they're going to have less time. For me, I like the idea of opening it up to both. Oh, if they talk about things that

aren't on the agenda, maybe we'll finish sooner because they'll have already spoken. I like having both options and communicating that to people. I'm like, both, when you say both, when we get to the action items, we're going to have comments on all three, or we're going to have comments on one, then two, and then three. I think everything on the agenda is going to be in one session, so it's not 20 minutes for A and for B and for C. It's going to be 20 minutes for everything, so for all the discussion, but I do like having something at the beginning so they can talk about anything, that would be good. Technically, we already have that, and it's the law, so people can come and talk about anything. I like that for the comment on

Peggy. And I would like to have a student advisor. So if we can put the consent process later, but consent is usually done very quickly. Oh, and the contractors are watching because they want to see if the contract is going to be signed or if people are going to get the promotion. I think I would like to prioritize the student, and I'm wondering if we should move the advisors' reports to the end. We can do it at the end. I 'm nodding. I think some boards do it at the end. It's an opportunity to speak to the public, but we should be reporting to each other about what we learned, what we saw. So that's fine, but maybe we should talk about this tomorrow at the governance meeting. We want to think about how we

can maximize student participation so we can reach an agreement where we only share one thing and then everything else is done in writing, which is a lot of things. We want to maximize student time and also all the reports from the unions and foundations. Superintendent. I think those are fine. Beginning. Yes, I agree as well. I have a question. There's a law that we have to hold the session first before the kids give their reports, and because we come, they come, they're ready, and then we have the closed session, so that they can leave, yes, they can have the closed session at the end afterward. I think that in the closed session we also want to be considerate that we have to have counselors or some other person. That's why we have the closed session

at the beginning, but there are many times. Before, it lasted more than an hour, so that's why I wanted to do it in half an hour. If you look at the high school district, they say they're not going to return earlier than 5:15, for example. So it's very easy for people to plan, and yes, Evel, I agree that we have to consider the students who come, that we have many different people for the closed session, we have the students who come to read, it's a big thing for them. And we also want to focus and amplify the voices of the students, and yes, I agree with moving the counselors' reports to the end. Those are my thoughts on that. I also think We should move the closed session to the end. We tried it at

the beginning for a while, and it's usually quite heavy and difficult stuff. If we need another closed session, we can do it before the meeting. I think unless they're going to charge us double, I think we can be flexible. I don't think it needs to be at the beginning, although your point makes sense too. We're also talking about student counselors and student reports. Several years ago, we had a school that came every month, so we would go around to all the schools, and it would be the principal. But I think we have a student report, and we talk about the school or some similar format. But instead of having six small reports, because they take a lot of time, if we have a member who's going to give us feedback, or maybe a couple of

students, then we can change the format too, as we talked about that in the other meeting that we would have to do every primary. Going back to the closed session, what do you think about the time it's done? I think it's important to be consistent. I think it's good to consider... Moving it to the end is a bad idea, but the lawyers might be waiting because we can't control everything else, and sometimes these are very important decisions. I do n't recommend doing it at the end when everyone is tired and wants to go home, so we can make decisions like the superintendents' evaluations. I think that's why we moved it, because before we were having closed sessions after 10:00, which wasn't the best time. But now it's only half an hour, and the students know

we won't start until 6:30, so we just wanted to let them know. I think it's a good time, but it's also more transparent for the public because they'll be arriving at 6:30. So maybe if we want to do something, we won't start the open session before 6:30. They can come, but some people think they have to come exactly at 6:00, and we want to let them know that we won't start before 6:30 so it's clearer, and they can come earlier if they want or not. It's reasonable to say 6:30 because When there are a lot of things at 6:30, we want to schedule them so that we have sessions when people are waiting for us. But if we only have one or two discussion items, we try to get back by 6:30, but sometimes it's

closer to 6:40. We'd like to give ourselves that extra time and say that we won't be coming in before 6:45 and that we'll start the open session at 6:45. 6:30. My preference is that we won't come in before 6:30; we'll stay and get back right on time. Oh, it's okay if you have to wait 5 or 10 minutes. If you, as chair of the table, want to make sure that we get back by 6:30, then we have to make sure that we have time to walk from the conference room and take care of any business we have because that's when people are starting to get organized. So we have to finish the closed session earlier so that we arrive by 6:30. We can do that too. I think we have that written down, as Mich

said, We're not going to start the open session before 6:30. It would be good so people are informed. I liked the comment, uh, the students and the superintendent, because it's also good information for the public. It does n't have to take up so much time. We keep the counselors' reports, and I also want to talk about all the things, but if we limit it, it would be good if we limited it and put it at the beginning, but I've also seen other districts that really like to talk about everything they do, and it takes them 40 minutes, and at that point they're talking to each other, and that 's the point. So if we want to have more time to talk about what we 're doing, then we can move it to the end. I

think right now it's not that long. I think it lasts about 15 or 20 minutes. And when we're all there, and there are five of us, not everyone has something to say every time. If we really wanted to have a section at the beginning, maybe we could say that's the most important thing, and you have about 3 minutes, a minute and a half, for the most important things. And then at the end we can do the reports, and we can do the reports at the end. So, I'd like to talk about all the committee meetings or anything we did, anything we want to share. Maybe we can think more about that. We can also try the new format for a couple of meetings and then we can change it if we don't like it. We

want to talk more. What you can do before we finalize the format is that during the next meeting, the chairwoman can say after the superintendent's reports that we made some adjustments to the agenda, and you can move the reports to the end to try it out. I think we should try it a couple of times. If we want to make more changes, that would be changes to the laws or that would be the procedure. So you can always change it in the future. We've already made some changes to the format, so this would just be an opportunity. This is going to be on tomorrow's agenda as well. We're going to spend time discussing it further, or when we're going to talk about this again. I'm going to leave that up to Chairwoman Shamb to decide.

If we can talk about this during governance, I'd like to look at the format one more time with the understanding that it can change. Or we're going to try things, uh, we're going to change things now that we have student advisors. I think Dr. Crossway said we had to inform the public about the change. So, how much flexibility do we have to change it? To try, when we start the meeting, we can say, and then when we're ready to have the changes, we'll have the discussion so the public knows, and then take action during the next meeting. So then, at the next meeting, we would take action. If you can, unless you want more time to practice, then keep this. But during the next regular meeting, we're going to say, we're going to change this.

It would n't be an official change. We would just try it and then decide. You can also try to make the reports only 3 minutes. It's not always going to happen, but 3 minutes is still 15 or more. So we're going to try changing the order and then get feedback on all the different items. Maybe we can try to make those bigger changes during the new school year instead of changing it now, or make a decision to make a big change in April. I I like the idea of trying it, that we have other things that people might want to communicate, and we're going to have presentations and other things, so having that time earlier for families would be great. I'd like to try it and explain what we're trying to do and why, and

then vote and ask the audience for feedback and try it this other way. I think it's going to be good to have that communication. So you want to try stopping the comments. Oh, so that anything, yes, at the beginning, because now there are no restrictions, it's just the way we've done it , but it doesn't say, but I think you'd like to do both, so do that, and then later, instead of one comment for each thing, when we get to the actions, say all the comments for 13 A, B, and C, all the comments together. That's what you're saying, Bridget. You want to try both? Yes, because if we already tried one thing, I think we can try the other one too. So, if we have to take an action in the next action, or

if we're just going to say it at the beginning, we're going to do it a little differently. I think We need to discuss this at the next meeting. But we have to take action. Only when it's clear to the public can you include additional language. So when you get to that section , you say, "Let's take comments on any of these items." So we're going to change the script a little. I don't think people will mind, except us. So we've agreed among ourselves that we're going to try this new format. Yes, everyone here is nodding. I can't see from here, they're very small. So, that sounds good to me. Thank you very much for the discussion. I have some logistical things, like number 10, for example, that's the action item, or what is this? Excuse

me, it's very confusing, but these are going to be resolutions or policies. You're not always going to have that, so that's what it is. Then, and then the public hearing section, and then we move on to December 14th. We're going to review and discuss the after-school programs. Before, we had the discussion items, so the consent would be... Final. Is that okay? Uh-huh. Just to see what the sample is going to look like . So, regarding the after- school issues I brought up during my report, to update you on what we're doing, we're trying to address the need in an intentional way. We know there are difficult challenges, we've increased the number of students we can serve, and if everything goes according to plan, we're going to have over 800 students coming in next year. So,

if there are any comments about the 14D, please hand in a blue card or raise your hand digitally. No one here. Then we can discuss the 14D after- school programs. I'd like to have more information, not just the link to the website, but also more details about what's happening with the pilot and what a day in this pilot program looks like. What kinds of activities do they do? I 've seen a lot of things online from other districts and other programs. I was really excited about Singog, but I haven't heard exactly what they 're doing. They say it's going to be based on what the kids want to do, but like Mom, I don't know if I'll want my kids to participate, if they'll be doing science, art, and what the homework will be like.

I know you really focus on academic support. What I want to know is more about our after-school programs and what the expectations will be for those we'll be providing and those we'll be collaborating with. Because we also have private programs, and I'd like to see the prices and a price comparison. How much will a family pay? Will they be attending Catalyst and K-Yog, and what kinds of programs do they have? I know we don't have anything during the holidays this year. I don't know if Catalyst offers anything, if there are any places that offer services during the holidays. I think Director Slen has talked about having an activity during the holidays for a different price. I'm very interested in what's happening after school because it's very important for our families. I'm very excited that we're

going to expand it, but I'd like to have more information. If there's anything else any of you want, we can include it in the presentation. I'd also like to know about the classes... remedies and how the children are doing during the school day, if they need more help, what do they do? Cross, when it's a more formal presentation, could you talk in more detail about LAP and what it means and which students we prioritize? Yes, I'm also going to give you information about the state requirements, because in the district we're a Level II school, so we have more opportunities to collaborate with organizations like Think Together. I also want to clarify how we talk about after-school programs. It was once said that everything after school would also be KLS. Do you remember that? But Think

Together becomes KLS, but it would be a good idea to understand what terminology we're going to use for the programs. I do n't remember that. If last year there was a presentation, everything was going to be known as... I'm going to follow up on that, and so you know, when it first started, it was for schools that didn't have many duplicate students, and when it was updated and reviewed, it's now Level II, meaning less than 65% of the students are considered non- duplicated, less than 75%. We had fewer before. The district wasn't eligible for the funds, but now it gives us more flexibility to offer different programs that qualify, but we're still required to prioritize duplicates to use the funds. So, the number of non- duplicate students has decreased. I'm just saying that the law

was updated, and the state identifies us as level two because less than 75% of our students across the district are non-duplicates. We could be level two. Yes, it's before I was here. Yes, it's unrelated. The levels were established two years ago. Maybe we can have an additional presentation. Once we understand the needs for next year, we can do that at a later meeting, let's see, in a few months or so. Every school will have after-school programs. Yes, I'll check it, explain it further, but the plan is to continue expanding services throughout the school. I do n't mind when we talk about it again. We should have an update on what's going to happen. We can also inform and review the parents. Yes, before To finish the day, the school year, like before June or maybe

the first meeting in June, that would be, it would help the fa milias, I would give them more general information about what to expect. That information will show how much it will be per student. We know if the price would change. It's something we're talking about right now, for this year and for next year. By June, we'll have all those details because they need to recruit. And there is a registration deadline, and after that, the Fames can still register. Yes, but it also depends on the location and whether there are available slots, and also on the families eligible for ILAB who register, and if there are slots available after that. It seems there are no more comments. We move on to the next one, it's just a matter of information and we can go to

future meetings. The next meeting will be on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 10 a.m. It's an extraordinary meeting, and it's scheduled afterwards. It's 9:35 and we're going to end the meeting. Good night.
