six state officers who are elected by the fellow student members and put off a year of college to serve the organization they're the face of the organization a liaison between the agriculture industry and the members and truly give back to the students that they serve the application process to be elected as a state officer is an intense three-month interview speeches tests very long process in the history of elk grove ffa we have had four previous state officers the last of which um in the year 1999. this year we are so proud to announce that not only for the first time in 22 years do we have a state officer but for the first time in elk grove ffa history we have a state president miss abigail jacobson [Music] we are so incredibly proud of her

servant heart and cannot wait to see how she's going to have an impact on the members of our organization this year please help me in welcoming her for a few remarks and celebrating this honor thank you miss wright um it's humbling to stand among those who've walked a similar path as my own worn the same jacket and shared a lot of the same experiences i want to thank the oak grove unified school district for their continued support of agriculture education throughout the years and the countless opportunities it's provided me and all of my peers when i walked into elk grove high school just four years ago i shared one thing with every other student in the room and that was the desire to belong and after four years of late night speech competitions long van

rides livestock shows and leadership conferences i've certainly learned that being abigail jacobson is more than enough i will carry the values i've learned with the elk group unified community with me wherever i go but as i trade this elk grove jacket in for a california association one please know that this jacket these people and the eg usd community will always be my home thank you for your support families feel free to come down and take a photo of your student congratulations again the next item on the agenda is resolutions the first resolution we have is lgbtq plus pride month and i'd like to ask miss soriano if there's any zoom public comments on this item yes um that on board president dr martinez hillary there is one public comment on this resolution from a mr

joel boyd okay thank you we can please have him connected good evening can the board hear me yes we can hear you good evening madam good evening madam president board members superintendent hoffman and miss avalos firstly i've come before this board many times on issues of equity and improving the culture of our campuses for black students and those who face disproportionate discipline i along with my colleagues from the pace project parents advocates for changing education david farmer fong and eric summers have together formed a new organization to hold and work with the school board hold them accountable to students and address the racial instructional inequity provide to provide adequate resources for special education and improve the social emotional well-being for all the students through investment in mental health campuses we will continue to advocate on

issues that we find questionable and inequitable and we have found that in the case of what happened to ariana washington on catherine albiani middle school campus the family has come before the board multiple times to share the experiences that their daughter faced discrimination based on their sexuality and our race and requested that the findings of a formal investigation be conducted over many months the districts say that they cannot release the records of the investigation how can we as a community hold the district accountable to ensure a thorough investigation was complete we believe that our district should be working much harder to be transparent when it's fallen short of its commitment to truly changing the practices of administrators in respect to how they have treated students parents sharing their experiences of racism homophobia and transphobia thank

you for allowing me to speak this evening on the subject that needs to be advanced by this board and district pass a formal resolution if the rationale for this resolution is truly that the elk grove unified school district celebrates the consciousness of lgbtq people and works to create a respectful caring and inclusive culture of all within the school district community pride month will be providing an opportunity to combat bullying harassment and discrimination based on real or perceived sexual orientation gender identity and gender expression by recognizing pride month the district supports other policies practices curricula to honor and respect lgbtq plus students staff and their families action speaks louder than words and there are actions that this district can take now to repair the harm that they have done to the washington family if administrators are

allowed to create their own narrative by back dating documents we have no trust in this system racism homophobia transphobia xenophobia should not be allowed to exist in our school system take a stand now to do more than pass a resolution embed culturally responsive and equitable practices within staff trainings and cultivate improved relationships between students teachers and administrators only then will the elk grove unified school district large community build back his trust and our district to be the leader in equity thank you for your time [Music] thank you are there any blue cars on this item very difficult to find a present like to call on miss laura feliciano for the resolution good evening board president dr martinez members of the board superintendent hoffman and miss avalos my name is laura feliciano from the youth development

office and student support and health services i'm here tonight to present resolution 70 recognizing june as pride but the elk grove unified school district celebrates the accomplishments of lgbtq plus people and works to create a respectful caring and inclusive culture for all within the school district and community pride month will provide an opportunity to combat bullying harassment and discrimination based on real or perceived sexual orientation gender identity and gender expression by recognizing pride month the district supports other policies practices and curricula that honor and respect lgbtq plus students staff and their families we had invited a student from one of our gay straight alliance clubs to speak to you tonight on the importance of pride month but sierra had to cancel and it's for a good thing she is receiving an award at school tonight

i will be reading instead the statement that they prepared student statement my name is sierra mayfield tripp and my pronouns are she they i am in the seventh grade at james rutter middle school pride at school means to not care what other people think about you no matter what you identify as gsas and rainbow clubs at schools provide a safe place for students in the lgbtq community and their peers celebrating pride month is important because the lgbtq plus community is discriminated against even though it is a normal part of being human i am asking that the board adopt resolution 70 recognizing june as pride month i'd like to call for a motion to adopt resolution number 70 which proclaims the month of june 2022 is lgbtq plus pride month i happily recommend that we approve

resolution number 70. thank you so i have a motion by mr fursina do i have a second second by ms jamerson i'd like to conduct a role called vote ms nguyen hi mr perez hi mr fursina aye ms albiani hi miss jamerson i and myself isn't i thank you next resolution is secure firearm storage resolution i'd like to call on ms soriano to see if there's any public comments via zoom that had a board doctor president dr christine dr martinez sorry there are no uh public comments on this particular item on zoom are there any blue cards no there are no blue cards madame president miss soriano will be speaking for this resolution good evening madam president dr martinez larry members of the board superintendent hoffman and miss avalos evidence strongly suggests that secure firearm

storage is an essential component up to any effective strategy to keep schools and students safe an estimated 4.6 million american children live in households with at least one loaded firearm and every year nearly 350 children under the age of 18 unintentionally shoot themselves or someone else tragically approximately 693 children die by gun suicide each year most often using guns belonging to a family member in incidence of gun violence on school grounds 90 percent of active shooters are current students or recent graduates and 74 percent of shooters under the age of 18 obtained their guns from their own home a relative's home or from friends research shows that secure firearm storage practices are associated with up to an 85 percent reduction in the risk of self-inflicted and unintentional firearm injuries among children and teens in response

to the alarming facts surrounding firearms and their access by children and our students the board of education is asked to adopt resolution number 72 for 2021 20 2022 declaring the importance of secure firearm storage and associated preventative measures to increase student and school safety suggestions regarding this resolution um you mentioned schools and students but i like to add school students and communities within the district we can definitely take a look at that thank you and also uh next next time around yeah this is a very good document regarding the state federal state but we need local data because you know um i know for a fact when i grew up in high school i had a personal friend in my classroom that committed suicide were the good and and it happens locally too but a

lot of times we don't hear but we need to know it's this issue is here in our community and so i like to see local state and county and this city whatever at the local level data thank you thank you i'd like to call for a motion to adopt resolution number 72 declaring the importance of secure firearms storage and associated preventative measures to increase student and school safety so moved second and i'll conduct a role called vote ms nguyen i mr forsena all right miss albiani hi miss jamerson aye mr perez and myself was an eye thank you thank you the next item is student expulsion are there any public comments related to this item i have no blue cards metaphor president dr marty salary there are no public comments for this particular item for

expulsion thank you i'd like to call for a motion to approve the recommendation for student expulsions so moved do i have a second sec first and a second conduct a role called vote ms albiani hi miss jamerson aye mr perez voting no again because of the fact that we do not discuss these issues in closed session mr forsena hi myself isn't i thank you the next item is public comment and we are asking at this time for public comments for items on the agenda are there any zoom public comments for items on the agenda madam board president dr martinez o'leary there are no public comments for items on the agenda are there any blue cards no rick those are prior you marked item five would you do you have something to speak to that's on

the agenda or would you like to be in the next section just public comment okay not on the agenda thank you so the next item is for public comments not on the agenda are there any zoom public comments for items not on the agenda yes madam board president dr martinez there are two on zoom the first one is from miss lisa stanley and the second one is from mr david babavan thank you hello my name is lisa stanley i'm an advocate with black youth leadership leadership project today my heart is heavy i'm hurt sad disappointed disgusted but mostly pissed off i'm replaying the events over this past weekend i'm reimagi i'm imagining the cultivate cultivation of hate and anti-blackness in this terrorist home i am frustrated that these terrorists go to schools schools just like

in this district and their behaviors are often overlooked brushed off or dismissed as just kids being kids while their black counterparts are hyper focused on and never given the benefit of the doubt they are often given discipline that far exceed the alleged behaviors these systems foster these white terrorists and are complicit in their actions i can't stop thinking how many of these students are right here in eg usd campuses how many teachers admin hold these same sentiments how many on this board because remember you do not have to go to the extent of buffalo in your inactive to the extent of buffalo your inactivity to make any notable changes right here in your own community speaks volume your inability to address anti-blackness in your homes workplaces and church services says it says which side of

justice you are on your utter inability to even acknowledge and address these terrorist acts tells me where you stand we want black voices uplifted we want all those impositions to make change to start moving like you care of what the black community is up against we want all those in charge of our black children to work and operate out of love empathy and compassion black students need and deserve the same tolerance and understanding as all students bylp is presently on a campus in sacramento county and what i can tell you is the problems on your campuses are far bigger than we had even thought these babies are in desperate need to be seen and validated teachers are too quick to dismiss them and send them out while we are so happy while we byp is

so happy to be fulfilling a need this is only one campus these issues are everywhere we need many more hands and hearts i challenge every one of you who can hear my voice what are you going to do to make a difference thank you do we have the next individual okay can you hear me yes we can hear you okay great thank you uh thank you for giving me an opportunity to address the board i do want to bring up a couple of things here that is no worthy i understand and appreciate all the hard work that america and his team have put into closing the gap for paraeducated shortage but it just seems to me we're constantly in this firefighting mode and in a crisis mode um over the last six months that i've

been talking about paraeducated shortage some progress has been made and i want to give credit where the credit is due but at the end of the day we haven't made uh meaningful progress in terms of hiring uh pair educators to fill these positions that are vacant and large part of it is twofold the recruitment side certainly looks pretty good in terms of the average number of para educators that they're hiring it was about 28 pair educators per month however attrition and retirement and other things do plague the district as well too so as much as we're trying to top up uh to fill that gap the bottom is still leaking and we're not feeling it fast enough more recently i invited trustee yang to visit james mckee because that's the first site where senator pan

visited to see the pals program and that led him to find additional funding for elk grove unified school district well the pause program at that school is on the verge of collapse because there are not enough paraeducators to sustain it and then more recently my son who is also assigned a pair educator in class he has gone with a partial paraeducator for about a week and a half to two weeks now with no end in sight in terms of finding a substitute the request has already been put in and there is no response back yet when they're going to provide a pair educator so that is a direct violation of his ied and i iep and i'm hoping that this time next year we don't have this problem but going into the next school year

that we put in a firewall to prevent this from bleeding into next year as you recall earlier this year i was very concerned that by the end of this school year we may have the same problem that we started at the beginning of school year and true to what i've said before it is where we are right now and so i'm hoping that the board of trustees call an emergency meeting and look for ways to help the hr department find a solution whether it's to hiring bonuses or some sort of retention bonuses or whatever it is that you may think is appropriate thank you thank you the next item is public comment blue cards that have been filled out i'll call miss albiani hi our first speaker tonight is heather washington followed by charles washington

hi i'm ariana washington's mom this is nine months of well eight months coming before you but nine months of having to deal with the aftermath of what happened to our daughter what we've found going through this process is racism homophobia xenophobia are built into the dna of this district for example if a student let alone a black student were to log into a school's computer backdate their assignments and alter their grade needless to say they would be facing a minimum of suspension however vice principal coucho a white woman and daughter of board member for cena based on metadata proved without any doubt that she logged in backdated our daughter's discipline record a presumed gay student at that and then a month later goes back in and changes the discipline report after the director of secondary

education overturned her discipline and she faced no consequence so how is it that his school district holds students to a higher level level of accountability and integrity than they do a vice principal chris hoffman this is happening under your leadership and things will not change until you hold administrators accountable and teachers for breaking ethical code and harming children whether physically mentally emotionally or psychologically when will this district stop protecting friends and family of board members and do the right thing and rid district of administrators like principal bahar and vice principal cocho so now we are going through the state and federal process with our numerous complaints and retaliation complaints because this district refused to do the right thing and hold at minimum vice principal cusho accountable for banning our daughter from the locker room when

she broke no ed code school rule or cam's student parent handbook role she altered our daughter's discipline record she lied to investigators and broke every ethical code she's supposed to be bound to uphold now because we submitted that to the state the department of credentialing is opening their review further it took us filing retaliation complaints against against the district this board and chris hoffman in order to get a meeting with chris hoffman after asking for one for nine months however that meeting date still has not been set and finally to the parents who have children who have been harmed by this district change will not happen until you have the courage to file complaints and see them all the way through the federal level bylp alone has had around 25 complaints to date regarding racism

in this district but not one family is willing to do the work to hold this district accountable currently i'm working on legislation california state legislation entirely titled ahri's bill to change state law to protect our babies but the power of the people is greater than the people in power so parents and even the board members who are here who know what happened to our daughter was wrong you need to have the courage to step up and do the work for change having rage for what is happening to our children at the hands of this district and coming before this board is not enough i'm almost done it is not enough to make change because the district and some board members simply do not care parents black families use that rage to do the work be

in it for the long haul vote for better board members file the complaints all the way to the federal level and see the district make change to treat our black babies and lgbtq plus babies better it is our job as parents to lay the foundation to protect the children that become behind our child our children and the generations that come behind them and you have to do the work have the courage and step up for change mr washington will be followed by mr king evening board my wife said a lot i'm not going to go behind that um for nine months i hear the same thing over and over every every time there's a board meeting um someone speaks about the misconduct of black students for nine months i've never seen a a white parent

in nine months come up here and speak about their children was treated unjustly or unfairly but for nine months i've heard it in different ways just like you you've heard different parents you've heard my wife you've heard me you've heard the byop you know who lorraine pryor is because she's been doing it for years so honestly i don't even feel like being that thorough and communicating about what i know you already know so sadly enough i feel like it really makes no sense to even speak to the board i mean i almost feel like the board is like a it's a shell company it is it is it is designed to create hope for those that didn't get the appropriate professionalism of your management so just like when me and my wife were speaking to

principal bihar in the meeting regarding the fact that there was injustice towards my daughter and discipline given to my daughter it shouldn't been given to my daughter she just got up in a in a professional meeting she just got up walked out said it wasn't going to be rectified and to speak to the superintendent so skip all of that the black students are getting treated unfairly because you don't care because if you cared it would already be addressed because you've been hearing this for years so it doesn't matter if you hear it in a passionate way because you've heard voices passionately you've heard it's simple you've heard there's been tears in front of you there's been everything across the board and there's been no changes so it doesn't matter if i speak high low it

doesn't matter passionately nothing is going to change that's why i feel better speaking to the state or speaking to the federal speaking to the department of credential because why because we need different ears to hear what's going on in elk grove school district because it's a shame that you are number one in the way that you treat black students and you are number one in unfair discipline towards black students and then when we present to you something that was just to me so obvious of common sense we've had to go through loops and hoops and we're nine months later and and the board can't help us because it's designed not to even get to the board because attorneys come in first and we got to go through this and this and and and those attorneys

are hired by the district not by us so then we got to be specific about the variable was it racism was it sexuality was it mr trump the funny thing about it is when i look at the history of elk world school district and what you do find to be a problem when it's come to like sexual misconduct you get on it immediately you you help people accountable i'm not speaking to the board it's your job it's your job mr hoffman you've fired no one in regards to professional misconduct prejudicial misconduct racial misconduct because it doesn't affect mr washington please watch your comments please mr washington it doesn't affect anybody else but black stoop but when it affects white students asians and everybody else that sexual misconduct you address it because you don't want the

wrath of anybody else here you're numb to to the black complaints you're numb to the the the black energy in regards to this conversation because you hear it so much so if it mattered you would already address it and you don't or over by a minute mr washington so i'm sorry that i had to go a little bit uh over perez i feel sorry for you i feel sorry for you because you're sitting on something that you really can't do what you need to do because you're gonna get out voted jamerson yang it doesn't matter because at the end of the day everybody has to be on one accord so again we will continue to fight but it won't be with you we're just going through the complaint process because we have to which a

complaint process sucks my daughter is at another school you've taken things away my daughter could have been up here today with those 4.0 students my daughter played basketball she's not playing for albiani right now when she should she could be playing for toby but you killed that your principal killed that your vp killed that and you've done nothing mr washington you paid too much money to do nothing thank you mr washington for your comments for washington we have to go on thank you mr king followed by miss pryor test test okay hi my name is john king i'm a special education teacher part of the palace program at james mckee elementary we just heard from one of the parents there um it's my first time speaking in front of the board probably last time uh

so a little unfamiliar there but it's fortunately not my first time in mr hoffman's office even though it's been 20 25 years uh so a little bit of familiarity there um i didn't want to come here and beat the dead horse that we all hear about about prayer educators get closer to the mic please still people i don't want to come here and beat a dead horse about pair educators their pay and whatnot i want to talk a little bit about leadership uh and what that means to me and how i show it and what you may actually take away from it is up to you but uh you know as a young marine corporal you know leading us to being a squad leader one of the first things i learned was that the center

of gravity in any battle space is the marine infantry squad 13 guys led by some 23 year old kid walking and talking and doing the job uh you could be a battalion commander you could be a company commander you could be a platoon commander the center of gravity is always going to be that marine infantry squad you can be a supply guy guess what you're still supporting that marine infantry squad uh when i was uh you know a mid-grade marine captain going through uh ews expeditionary warfare school goes back to the same point it's a little bit more fancy because you know you're college educated and you're supposed to lead by example duck this example but ultimately it all comes back to that uh you know your your squad members your squads are your classrooms

like your squad leaders are your teachers your your teams are your para educators uh they'll all tell you they don't feel very supported now just to recap some of the things i've done over the last year and i'm flagging myself pretty big here and i'll tell you why uh i've had to collapse my crop classroom from two classes to one because i didn't have the staff to support both classes uh we've well said we've done some fun stuff i've had to tell parents um that i cannot guarantee the safety of their children for that day because i had no staff show up can't do much about that i've had to i've missed benchmarks on iep simple ones services because i i can't do it there's just not enough adults in the classroom uh what else

have we done and i've told parents who've come from their meet and greet that i cannot support their iep requests i can't do it my classroom is overburdened as it is we've got what we've got but this is me being honest and i do that even though i'm not supposed to and it's probably legal for me to do that but i prefer to maintain my integrity and i know i'm sitting in front of here i know some of you have probably heard my name because i ensured parents who did have a problem with it would reach out to their trustees and talk about talk to them because there's not anything i can do to influence that situation anymore than i already have uh i tell you this not because i just want to use rain

fire down upon me and put a red folder in my hr book i tell you this because that's what leaders do we leave by example this is me taking accountability for something that's well beyond my control but i'll still sit up here and take it i'm okay putting myself on fire i'm okay sitting in front of all of you in admitting every fault mistake error that i've made without any reservation reservation whatsoever i'm not it's not because i'm not scared but it's because i'm a leader i'm a natural leader that's what i've done that's what i do you guys are elected officials important you're leaders you can be leaders thank you excuse me what school okay thank you james mckee elementary he works out miss breyer good evening so before i start i just want

to say that the events of this weekend had such a traumatizing impact on me that i couldn't get up out of bed on sunday and if i'm having a hard time i imagine what the children are feeling so i have a student over at limebox elementary who is consistently being a victim of exclusionary discipline when she doesn't want to talk to a counselor to a a to her teacher she is losing her recesses until she's ready to talk that is abusive i have a student over at monterey trail whose teacher i think i told you about her last week said the n-word in class maybe i didn't tell you that maybe i just told you about her putting her filthy nasty hands in this child's hair and she had the audacity to say the n-word

in class as a social experiment y'all need to get your teachers together it is inappropriate to say that word in class as an experiment and then throw your principle under the bus to the parent it's unacceptable and then today she decided to produce an assignment she gives this assignment to the to the student it says review this and make sure it's okay that's not the student's job to assist the teacher in presenting curriculum to a class get your teachers together today we're at the end of the school year i've been talking to y'all since last april about coming and helping you i need you to understand that we are in demand now and that offer is now off the table we have not had the forum that i requested or i'm sorry i didn't even

request it the parents whose boys were pulled out of class during the halloween time and and pulled out by law enforcement and traumatized they asked for a form to understand why their children were under a level four lockdown to which we were told it was not a level four lockdown and the children said that it was so i'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on in elk grove unified school district i was at smedberg the other day we asked that a culturally competent counselor and assessor be assigned to this black boy to which i was met with will i consider myself a woman of color it doesn't matter you're not black you don't know what it's like to be black and she had had the nerve to sit there with an attitude

because we asked for a culturally competent person to be in the room you have to get your staff together we are tired i am tired we don't have 25 complaints to date i don't know which which metric um miss washington was using i'm at complaint number 112. there are probably 30 35 this year alone please right my god get your staff together thank you the next item on the agenda is the consent agenda and i like to call for a motion to approve items one through twenty nine on the consent agenda so approval of items one to twenty nine high second sentence it's we already have a motion to approve before the german like pull some items i believe we already have a motion unless there's an amendment to the motion made i have my

hand up mr furcina do we have an amendment to it the item amendment well no i like to pull item number 3 5 7 11 17. definitely no that's not an amendment well when i asked uh they made a motion in a second i had my hand up look rewind the film i did not recognize and if this is another tactic for me to not to speak during consent items i am very upset not only people in the community cannot talk board members cannot talk when i when i asked for the call to motion i wish you would have just turned on the mic and said you know because the hand i'm trying to keep a scan of the room so please know that's not intentional when i did that so that i have met

him and we can hear yes is are there are the rules uh of our handbook in place yes thank you so that's why i'm going with if there's an amendment of the the person who's making the motion and he said no and with the second we can take it to a vote here's another issue i like to talk about if you talk about rules we don't even go by robert rules of order there is no rules we're on the agenda here right now that's not the batteries we have the most votes in this district we can conduct a roll call vote but because i didn't see that that it has to go back to the person who made the amendment if they wish to amend the motion or not well how would you say i

have a question as how do you want us board members to be recognized either if you please turn on the mic and and when you speak so i can see like if there was that because i can't see visually sometimes with the scan that's why i asked if you can turn on the mic to make a comment we can take it to a vote and if it doesn't pass then we can go back to those items my issues we could take it to a vote yes or no vote and it will take more than ten minutes i call for the motion miss nguyen no miss albiani i i apologize i needed a drink or what are we going to vote on the motion is it a yes or no yes on the consent agenda miss

jameson no mr perez mr forsena no mr fercina i'm messing with you i didn't have my mind okay i heard you say no yes and myself i will say uh no to go back to those items briefly because i did not see your hand okay so then can i ask a question of you are we going to suspend the handbook then we are not going to suspend that we're not following it so are we going to suspend it if we don't follow it then let us suspect he asked to be recognized with it no no no gina we have the agreement within the handbook and we've talked about it publicly and the superintendent has spoken to mr perez about it if you have questions you have an obligation as a board member ask those questions

prior to the board meeting you may ask the same questions but you have a responsibility to ask the questions prior to the board meeting this perez did not do that therefore he is not adhering to the handbook therefore the vote should have been yes across the board otherwise let us suspend the handbook and we can have a free-for-all on every item that's included in it i think you've made your point yes well apparently my colleagues don't understand my point can i speak to officials so we're we're gonna go down three five what we're gonna go down the items the other items that you pulled okay quickly very briefly you said yes so three five and it was eleven is that correct mike my computer timed out on me i gotta log in hold on here

i'm gonna take a minute yeah it'll only take no more five minutes okay three which is personal personnel actions we need data on this item uh there's equity recruitment report that all board members receive this week uh the bc something and they stated that we need data so that's number three number five certificate of administrative competence of to evaluate congratulations for those who passed that i see that there is more people of color with spanish speaking last names and first names number seven resolution to establish temporary interference borrowing again i do not support any fun borrowing because it gets people in trouble school districts have trouble ratification of contracts moratorium of understanding agreement this was the first time that we had contracts that were not retroactive congratulations staff number 17 approval purchase fleet vehicles congratulations

to staff again that we are contracting to local business community members such as elk grove nissan auto company thank you very much that's it that was less than four minutes thank you now i will call for a motion for the items one through twenty nine on the consent agenda sign once again call for approval items one to twenty nine our mine made a motion and then i heard miss james arsene second and i'll conduct a role called vote miss nguyen i miss albiani hi miss jamerson aye mr press okay so therefore it's a yes or no no i gotta vote on certain items i told you that i did not support it and um we didn't pull them out separately like you discussed them but for the vote one through the same time i vote

no because the fact that you didn't pull them out separately but you want to vote as a there's a whole group which i don't think is a very good government well that's the way that we've been voting on that know there's a lot of ways that we have done it mr forsena hi and myself isn't i thank you i like to call for a five minute comfort break to we can have everybody's attention to call the meeting back please so the the next item on the agenda is bargaining units however i know there are some guests in the audience waiting for an item so i was asking the board if we can move up one of the items which is the student board member recommendation from miss sue hubbard at this time your prerogative yes

i'd like to um call on miss sue hubbard to make sure because we have the the community waiting i guess i'm for that we get it for other other agenda items why not we should did it earlier all right i don't know if i got the powerpoint all right well good evening uh board president martina soler members of the board superintendent hoffman i'm here to present to you the committee's recommendations for the 2022-2023 student board member we're going to talk a little bit today about the why the rationale for the student board member how the process used to select who who we actually were recommending to the board and of course a recommended action one way to nurture democratic citizenship is to engage students in the governing process of our local school boards as justice

sandra day o'connor says the practice of democracy is not passed down through our gene pool it must be taught and learned anew by each generation of citizens let's talk a little bit about the process on july 20th of 2021 the school board approved the revised board bylaw 9150 that began the student board member process the student board member position runs from july 1st to june 30th students complete a universal application and submit it to their principals for approval each high school holds a school-side election and moves forward one candidate eight of our comprehensive high schools put forth a candidate this year an interview committee was formed by three egusd school board members and formal interviews were held at the district office each candidate was given up to 10 minutes to answer three predetermined questions and

all students were given the same questions no additional questions or comments were allowed the selection committee reviewed the candidates applications and after the interviews the committee selected a candidate for recommendation to the board which i'll tell you in a few minutes but before we go i want to talk a little bit about a process review every year we learn something new about this since this is our second time with the student board member elections and with the goal of constant improvement ms ross and i met with the interviewing board members after the interviews and of course the following week we met with the current student board member miss jamie and our 21 22 candidates and 22 23 candidates at a celebratory dinner to get input on the process this review gave us an opportunity to

identify what went well and areas of growth and i'm happy to say we'll have some new things to be adapted and implemented in the next election cycle with that now i'm happy to say there's one candidate that all three of the interviewees agreed upon and i would like to introduce oliver track oliver is a current 10th grader well for how many more days oliver okay for like a week uh he goes to laguna creek high school he is multilingual he speaks cantonese and japanese but japanese is through self-study he his clubs and activities are marching in jazz band cross country and key club and now oliver would like to tell you a little bit about his interest in this position thank you miss hubbard good evening board president martinez elaire members of the board superintendent

of hoffman and miss avalos um i cannot begin to express how thankful i am to be recommended as a student board member and with this opportunity if confirmed i intend to represent all egc students the best of my ability what inspired me to run for this position was being able to speak as a student at my school student equity council meetings where we discussed issues that students of various backgrounds may struggle with especially being the eldest out of four siblings who are currently attending middlesen elementary school i wanted to help ensure that the learning environment of students in our district is a genuinely welcoming and supportive environment that can help them all learn and grow thank you all right with that i would now like to respectfully ask the board to give consideration for approval

of oliver track as the second elk grove unified student school board member this time i will ask for a call for a motion to approve the recommendation of student board member who officially will be seated on july 19 2022. i call for a discussion i have a question regarding what new things did you find out that you didn't do last time what were the key things we found out one of the things we talked with the students about was our marketing and communication and outreach in the past the district kind of set it up for our district website and we also placed it on the main pages of the school sites but maybe we could help with some of our candidates who aren't the student board member this year on doing some outreach and getting

more information out so more students would be aware of this position yeah very good and as a result of that how did you uh did you find out about the position word of mouth or to the web or social media it was just um i was walking home with my friend and he asked me if i was going to apply for the position that's like what position that was how i heard about it okay and so then you went to the web page or what uh yeah i went to the webpage and i did some research on it very good excellent that's it any other i'd like to call for a motion to approve the recommendation of the student board member who will be seated in july oh yeah so have a approval by miss

jamerson do i have a second second mr forsena i'll conduct a role called vote miss newen mr perez mr forsena hi miss albiani hi and myself is an eye thank you and miss jameson hi sorry thank you congratulations we can i'll go down for a group photo come on up mom's here too all right okay i'm gonna take this oh like to go back to the next item up which is bargaining units are there any bargaining units who wish to address the board none okay see none at this time i'll move on to the discussion item item one please note that the student bill rights item will be brought back to a future board meeting and then the second discussion item is the governmental financial strategies joint powers authority and i'd like to call on

mr rob pierce thank you very much president martinez salir members of the board superintendent hop and miss avalos i am very pleased tonight to be sharing an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and unique joint powers authority one that we believe will bring added value to the district and to the k-12 municipal marketplace for local education agencies staff has completed a due diligence phase for consideration of the formation and potential membership in this joint powers authority for financial advisor services which entails teaming up with other fiscally prudent and like-minded public entities as well as government financial strategies i did want for the board and the community to be aware uh that the initial group that is entertaining forming this joint powers authority is one elk grove unified we have that opportunity um tonight's

just a discussion item capistrano unified school district who is taking similar discussions tomorrow and then possible action june 15th davis joint unified school district kern county office of education who has already approved the agreement and i think it's noteworthy that kern county is also the home of ficma which is the fiscal crisis management and assistance team santa clara unified school district sacramento county office of ed who's expected to take action on the agreement tonight as well as schools insurance authority as the board's aware the district has successfully worked with government financial strategies for a number of years the successful relationship has resulted in numerous fiscally solvent and beneficial financial endeavors for our district at the best value utilizing best practices and at the least possible costs of the district and more importantly the taxpayers the

formation of the government financial strategies jpa will ensure that gfs's continued ethical fiscal and solvent standards as well as best practices will be perpetually sustained by also ensuring that its members have the same interests and goals if approved by the board of education the elk grove unified school district will formally become a founding member in the jpa and what that means is that the district will have a perpetual seat on the board of directors this will afford the district additional opportunities and benefits including governance and direction of the jpa the overall goal and vision of the gfs jpa is to meet the ongoing needs of its members by assisting leas with their financial matters again using best practices for the fiscal benefit of those districts and the taxpayers that support them the jpa will operate

with full transparency be subjected or be subject i should say to the ralph n brown act and ensure that the public trust is maintained if the district does become a member the jpa will provide the district with all of the existing services and supports it currently receives from gfs aside from the general interest to continue working with government financial strategies and its staff which will only be possible if you are a member of the jpa staff believes there's a significant benefit in becoming a founding member on the jpa again ensuring that the district will have a perpetual seat on the board from the boarding community's perspective joining the jpa will not feel or look any different than our current arrangement and in fact the historical services provided by gfs will remain untouched again just with

the added benefit of us being able to give direct input and governments of the authority it's important to note that lizano smith has been working very closely with myself and staff during our due diligence period and so too a comprehensive legal team made up of fagan friedman and full frost as well as school legal services by way of the kern county office of education as well as the downey brand law firm have all been actively involved in the development of this jpa this will be back before the board for action on june 14th and i would entertain any questions or concerns that the board has and hopefully i can address those for you let's just start with any questions or comments miss no win i have no questions thank you miss jamerson i have no

questions at this time thanks mr perez how how would this be different from the school services so school services doesn't provide uh municipal financing services for school districts so the law does require whenever we're doing a significant financial transit transaction that we do have an independent financial advisor who oversees that transaction school services doesn't provide those type of municipal bond or other financing services so government financial strategies the board will call miss lori ranieri who's come before you on multiple occasions what will be happening here mr perez is this authority made up of the school districts that i mentioned in county office of ed essentially that authority is going to buy that company and then that company becomes staff to the authority the woman the woman's company that provided a consultation last time she's been

providing financial services to our district for right at least a decade why wasn't that put in the in the report it's it's in your report so this is a new company but yet and they're going to keep uh the same uh members that we consulted with prior so another bond issue it's important to note this this actually will not be a company this will be now a public entity through the powers that are granted to school districts and other government entities in creating a joint powers authority not uncommon from our existing insurance authority there's jpas amongst public entities for any number of things from risk management special education services even utilities there's a number of school districts who have created a jpa to buy natural gas for instance this will be that same similar type

of structure just providing municipal financial services so i'm wondering when she sells over that company what's the name of the company government financial strategies right no no i mean the one that we we had uh prior control that's it that's the name of the company when she sounds is there a guarantee she's gonna be continue working with that company or you know is she going to retire after she's they are so the this is a really interesting point that you're bringing up um that's what i'm i the board the board knowing miss ranieri and who she is as a person right um takes her work very very seriously right and she has created a structure um one that she's very proud of and this is my opinion this is not hers i don't want to

speak for her but in doing this this way it ensures in perpetuity because of the founding member districts that will ensure that those same practices and approaches to financial deals will remain in place through this jpa it will be her as the executive officer of that company as well as her existing staff um that becomes staff to the jpa yeah that's the only concern i have other than that you know i i and and with the costs of services go down as a result of this most likely right yeah so the the thought in a joint powers authority is by pooling all of our similar interests um that the services are provided more efficiently um and more cost effectively yeah like i said i'm more concerned at quality of services and and she'd be there

because she has a good track record that's it she will be there um she hasn't found the fountain of youth yet and i think that this i don't want to say that this is part of her structure in mind of ensuring that um essentially the mindset around her approach will be held in place through this jpa regardless of what becomes of her down the road i think that's the easiest most fair way to put it thank you very much thank you mr fusina any comments or questions yeah i i have no questions by way of comment i've always been a supporter of jpa's and the public agencies they they the ethical way in which those agreements are developed uh to me are are very worthwhile because you and your team have put this together i

trust in it and i have no questions thank you for that and this is a multitude of teams and again having the county offices of ed involved with sacramento county office of ed as well as kern county um that's a that's a very significant thing ms albiani i have no comments thank you myself i have no comments but thank you for bringing this forward we're looking forward to it yes thank you for the action item the next action item is expanded learning opportunities and i'd like to call mr ceruti good evening and thank you madam president members of the board superintendent hoffman and ms avalos tonight i'm bringing to the board and respectfully requesting your approval of our expanded learning opportunities program and so there we go um just a a very brief reminder of

the timeline in the process we've used to provide the board and our community information about the plan both about the planned content but also about the requirements we had the first presentation on april 19th a presentation on the third we posted the plan for public comment and this evening is when we are bringing it for approval with the hopes we receive that approval and we can thus begin accessing those funds and putting our plan into action and superintendent hoffman has said i believe multiple times over the course of these uh presentations uh and he's very accurate in describing it as uh building a plane uh while flying and that's not necessarily a negative comment at all it is reality um and i say that because uh keeping the board updated whether it's through board communications

or periodic um updates presentations to the board will be something that we will be doing not only over the coming months but the coming years and with that i respectfully request the board give consideration of approval of the plan thank you this time i'd like to call for a motion to appreciate the worst offended learning opportunities program plan and then we can uh do the motion and then go through if there's any comments if that's okay yes so i called for a motion so moved miss albiani made the motion do i have a second in a second by miss jamerson and then um is there anybody who has a comment or question before we go to the vote mr pres yes um last presentation you mentioned you were going to get a community uh input

was there a community input based upon the posting of the uh of the plan on the on the website and the opportunity for feedback we received a single response and it was specific to a comment related to a program um at laguna creek high school and something that we should consider replicating which was pardon it was a general statement about similar programs at laguna creek high school and so that was the single response that we got okay um the other concern i have is data reporting and progress and outcomes that's very important i went to the website the state of california at department of education that's what they're concerned and and possible amendments or changes to the to the grant or the to the program and i like to see that happen because i'm very

concerned of outcomes you know especially in in these geographical areas there is a lot of money put is going to be invested in our students and we we need to monitor that very closely agreed and um as um ms sipes has has spoken to um the our aces grants and the programs that we currently have uh have fairly robust i'd consider them to be uh robust uh progress reporting and monitoring and data systems in place but we will certainly meet the state requirement and i don't want to guarantee we're going to exceed because based upon what may transpire it could actually be sufficient but i'll be working she and i will be working with superintendent hoffman in terms of not just ensuring that we're meeting the state requirement but also that we're providing the board

regular updates through board communications and and mr perez i know you're oftentimes saying that board communications are information that you receive on fridays we'll be looking at what is a what is an adequate um frequency of time to be bringing updates to the board we certainly will be providing the board an update on our summer summer program that's coming up and i could see us doing a couple of uh of updates a year or more frequently depending upon progress and actions that are taking this is an extremely um lack of a better term it's a big deal there's a tremendous amount of money and tremendous opportunity um with this program and so we will i can assure you that we'll be keeping the board adequately updated in terms of progress being made but also um

just in terms of the data sets that were generating and using for program evaluation and i did uh discover that also this uh academic year that we're on the list to do on-site review is that is that gonna be what is burnt fpm through the fpm process yes and please let us know of that so maybe we could participate or observe that the the fpm process is something that we routinely go through and we certainly will we have and will continue to keep the board updated in terms of the programs locations and things of that nature that are under review and we we keep the board updated um all the time when we're going through that through our board communications yes and and finally i am a firm believer that the more resources funds that

students have has in our communities the better outcomes academic outcomes that we have okay see no other hands or comments um i would like to conduct a role called vote we have a first and a second miss nguyen hi mr perez yes mr farcina hi miss albiani bye miss jameson hi and myself is and i thank you the next item i like to call an amory scene to present the decoration of need for fully qualified educators for 2022-2023 good evening madam for president dr martinez members of the board superintendent hoffman and miss avalos i'm here to request the board to approve the declaration of need for fully qualified educators for 2022 and 2023 as required by the california commission on teacher credentialing the district is fully committed to hiring fully qualified educators to meet the

needs of our students however on some occasions we may need to request various types of emergency or limited assignment permits to meet the specific needs where we are not able to find teachers who hold the appropriate authorizations this declaration uh allows us to ask for those types of emergency or limited term assignment permits from ctc so with that i'm asking the board to request i'm requesting the board to approve and adopt the declaration of need for fully qualified educators for 2022-23 as required by the california commission on teaching credential i'd like to call for a motion to approve the declaration of the need for fully qualified educators for 2022-2023 as required by the california commission on teacher credentialing does anybody else have an item to discuss relating to this mr perez um this is the

actual process for is it a process for emergency permits emergency teachers permits i'm sorry can you can you ask that question against parents this this process that we're doing uh i have another word for it is there a process for emergency teacher permits it is a process we undertake so that once the board adopts that then if we have a situation where we need an emergency permit we have this on file and we are able to request a permit for that individual because we have board approval to do that so this is the first step in order to get emergency permits for teachers that we do not or need in in the next fiscal year i mean it's next academic year correct that is correct that's what i thought okay so hold on here so

what are we doing and recruitment that we that we need to get more teachers on board and and going through this process i you know looking at it looks like we're not for instance it says that it's asking us are we presently training new teachers though on page four if it says efforts to certify the sign and develop fully qualified personnel we need if yes and we said yes does your agency participation in a commission-approved college or university internship program we have 50 yes we said yes and we presently have 50 uh interns going through the program seems to me that we need more than 100 i mean a 50 like we might need a 150 100 to 150 in this process of training insurance do you agree well we don't i don't think we

need 150 interns we need sp different people may need different permits somebody might need an inter intern permit somebody else might need a short-term permit somebody might need a um a different type of permit because they are coming behind a teacher who's on a leave of absence this establishes the process like i said our first intent is always to get fully qualified credentialed teachers in the case we are not able to find one if the person is eligible to teach with a different type of permit which is not a fully credentialed permit then this process enables us to get that special permit for that individual teacher so that they can teach for us for the next school year mr perez just want to be so it really is just anticipating in a challenging hiring market

and when there's a shortage of teachers coming out of programs and those kinds of things we're anticipating the need for this and so we but we have to have board approval so that we're ready to implement it as quickly as we can to be able to go straight to ctc because if we discovered the issue and didn't have this on file we have to wait for a board meeting have the board take action on this and then go and do the application for the individuals this just gives us the flexibility based on the need that we're we know is there this gives this this declares in elk grove unified we need to have this in place so that we can fill needs as quickly uh with as qualified people as we can well you mentioned

on page three or four you you we need a possible of type of limited assignment permits the total is 220. and so you're already predicting that you bro you know you're gonna we're gonna need 220 the possible most likely and that's the justification to to go to go through this process so in other words and then when i say bc about recruitment and retention of staff and and the numbers i've seen in fbc we need and i support in-house internship training within elbow unified school district which mr hoffman supports he he mentioned to us once more than once that we need to train in-house teachers so we can get good quality teachers for our students but yet it seems like the institutions out there that we have agreements with are not producing or or the

the agreements that we have with these institutions the education training institutions are not producing what we would need so what's the alternative to do that so i know that you're looking at that number that doesn't mean that's the number of people we will need or we want we will like i said our intent is always to get fully credentialed teachers this is just so that we have a safety net yes i understand again to the board during the whole school year that if we need somebody who needs a permit we have the ability to do that over estimate at this time because we can't accurately give the numbers that is okay and that's a separate issue with the retention our recruitment probably that's a separate issue so we're just addressing this contract at this time

absolutely but but are you saying okay let me ask you this on page four it states that if yes each college university which you participate in an internship program and you mentioned about maybe 20 institutions are they generating enough teachers for our district well they're generating not just for our district they're generating for all of us yes but yet we are concerned about having qualified 100 qualified uh teachers not uh emergency credential teachers in which what i've seen in the district are being assigned assigned to area one area three more so than other areas i don't believe that's true sir well let's let's let's do some research if we can stay on the items at hand because we're not we're not discussing the other areas mr press so i'd be happy to do that one-on-one

separately i request the data because i see okay there's the william report you know so we're staying on this item right here do you have specific questions regarding anything else regarding the internship program for this item well it's an old fact in the community that area one and three so get a high volume i just want to go back to the item at hand so if there's questions or comments to the item at hand please yes that's part of the issue that's what i'm concerned about it's not true sir we've been sent paperwork that proves that's not true let me stick to the contract how can yes thank you and so uh that's what i'm concerned about my my concern is that in area one to three we do not have over abundance of substitute

teachers and emergency credential teachers understood thank you thank you so i'd like to conduct a role called vote we had a first and a second miss nguyen i mr forsena definitely uh ms albiani aye ms jamerson aye mr perez yes and i like to see the data and i for my myself thank you the next item is public hearing action items for the tentative agreements between elk grove unified school district and the california school employees association and its elk grove chapter number 831 csea 2020 2021 reopener negotiations of the 2021-2022 successor negotiations i'd like to call mr riley thank you president martinez members of the board superintendent hoffman miss avalos the tentative agreements between the elk grove unified school district and the california school employees association and its elk grove chapter number 831 csca have

been ratified by a vote of the csca membership and the ab 1200 review has been approved by the sacramento county office of education the ab 1200 report which provides the financial analysis of the tent of agreements is attached and was submitted to scoe for their review and was approved as such i'm asking for the board president to announce and open the public hearing with a request for anyone who wishes to speak to csea and its elk grove chapter 831 tentative agreements to come forward and after listening to any speakers have the president close the public hearing and upon the closing of the hearing ask the board to take action to approve or ratify the tentative agreements so at this time i like to open the public hearing and call on ms soriano to see if

there's any public comments via zoom for this item and then at this time i'd like to call for any blue cards related to this item there are no blue cards madam president i like to close a public hearing and call for a motion to approve the tentative agreements between elk grove unified school district and the california schools employee association and its out grove chapter 831 csea 2020 2021 reopener negotiations for 2021 2022 successor negotiations so moved so i i have a a motion and do i have a second the second and i'd like to conduct a role called vote ms albiani hi miss jamerson aye mr perez it's already been approved by the county been approved by the association by a by a vote so now this is just the opportunity for the board to

ratify it well some place i've seen tentative language until the board takes action so to yes i or no and they are very concerned about what the issues i have said we're we're conducting a vote right now and in the middle of the vote we're sticking to i or a yes or no mr perez yes thank you mr fursina hi and myself is and i thank you the next item is a tentative agreement between elk grove unified school district and the american federation of state county and municipal employees local 258 2020 2021 and 2021-2022 mr riley thank you again the tentative agreement between the elk grove unified school district and the american federation of state county and municipal employees local 258 afscme for the 2021 and 2122 school years has been ratified by a vote

of the afscme membership and the ab 1200 review has been approved by the sacramento county office of education the ab 1200 report which provides the financial analysis of the tentative agreement is attached and was submitted to scoe for the review and approval as such i'm asking the board president to announce and open a public hearing with a request for anyone who wishes to speak to the afscme employees local 258 tentative agreement to please come forward after listening to any speakers asking i'm asking the board president to close the public hearing and upon closing the public hearing ask the board to take action to ratify the tensive agreement i'd like to open the public hearing and call on ms soriano to see if there's any public comments on zoom relating to this item are there any

blue cards related to this item there are no blue cards out of sector saying none i'd like to close public hearing and call for a motion to approve the tentative agreement between elk grove unified school district and the american federation of state and county and municipal employees local 258 asked me for the 2020 2021 2021 2022 do i have a motion how about first by miss albiani do i have a second i'll second miss jamerson and i'll conduct a role called vote miss albiani bye miss jamerson aye mr perez mr fursina hi and myself isn't i thank you the next item is consideration of the public notice of ege's initial sunshine sunshine proposal to the district regarding collective bargaining for 2022 2023 mr riley thank you once again so just as we close out 2122

we get to start get the privilege and honor start again so this is a consideration of our sunshine proposal from ega pursuant to government code section 3547 the following process is required for negotiations between the bargaining unit and the district one the uni the union's initial proposal is officially presented at a public meeting of the governing board for public notice and two a public hearing is conducted to receive public input regarding the union's initial proposal ega's initial proposal is attached it is recommended that after the closure of the public hearing the board take action to officially receive ega's initial proposal at this time i'd like to open the public hearing and call on ms soriano to see if there's any zoom public comments related to the site madam board president doctor martinez and leary there

are no public comments related to this item are there any blue cards related to this item madam president there are no blue cards i'd like to close public hearing and call for a motion to receive egea's initial sunshine proposal regarding collective bargaining for 2022-2023 so moved by miss albiani a second second by miss jamerson i'll conduct a roll call vote miss jamerson i mr perez i have a question it's a yes or no vote yeah because if it's a question regarding that we'd have to go to closed session at this time i know we did two hours of closed sessions already that was on a superintendent evaluation that was one hour of it no it was a separate that's what i was told i'm available so is it yes is it a yes or no

vote mr perez no because you don't want to discuss closed session mr furcina a yes or no vote we conducted a role called vote before i vote i need a clarification is is there a reluctance to have uh to adjourn and do closed session and come back there is no reluctance but that would matter was presented to us in the original closed session at the 4 pm to start time at this point okay given that the opportunity was there i will vote yes miss albiani yes and myself is yes thank you the next item is board member and superintendent reports do we have any board member superintendent committee reports of the district mr hoffman i'll be very quick um i first i just want to say thank you to the board district staff with regards

to negotiations and the leadership um of csea and afscme this one took a while and they worked worked our way through it so i appreciate all the time um effort and thought that went into this and as mr reilly said we'll be kicking off in the new version here soon but i did want to recognize everybody's efforts there and then the last piece i want to say is graduations are here so i'm starting next week four full days of high school graduations and mr murray just looked at me like what and so that's not as a little worrisome so just excited and thanks for the board for making shelves available and for uh for the the new folks uh jamie you're you're gonna you're gonna be worn out but it's uh but it's well worth

the uh well worth the time so just looking forward to it thank you jameson i just wanted to acknowledge that this is jamie's last meeting correct no okay okay okay we did not yet yeah she has two more meetings she's june you can't leave a i i don't see any other reports are there any items for future agenda items for consideration scene none like mr perez i want to agenda items in closed session regarding suspensions discipline the students and closed sessions we have discussions on staff but why don't we have discussions on the suspensions and disciplines of our students within closed sessions this was done traditionally prior to mr hoffman coming on board and so and what we see in our community it's it's developing into a volcano for future agenda items we just take

it as one sentence and then i will conduct a role called vote for this item to be presented mr fursina yes or no on the future item clarification before i vote is mr perez asking for a general discussion or a discussion that involves the names of students because a general discussion to my knowledge is not a closed session item that is correct and then as suspensions suspensions individual suspensions are also not a closed session item right okay we had okay anthony prior to you coming on board we had as board members discuss suspension and closed session by the name of the same data same information that we received those are exclusives we have received all that information and we have discussions we have we have the opportunity to ask questions of of you and the

other staff who were in charge of discipline and suspensions it seems to me hold on it seems to me we are kind of being uh led again to get less information about these suspensions so so all the expulsions and it's more it's getting to a boiling point you're mixing it up you're mixing two things okay but as a result of not talking about these suspensions week after week and and it gets into lawsuits that's so for clarification it sounds like you're asking for a change in the system and then the process did you want to take that to a boat mr furcina did you get the clarity on that why did we ever change to my recollection and i've been here as long as you mr fred i don't recall that at all but that's

no i don't and and that's neither here nor there the fact that um we can't uh legally go into closed session on something that is an open session item i vote no and then miss albion correct information i vote no ms jamerson for clarification the it's about discussing the particulars of each expulsion that are on our regular board agenda correct we used correct we used to do that in closed sessions okay and then afterwards i vote yes mr press yes to what yes to what your request is yes and then myself is a no did you vote thank you miss new wing cannot vote on this item thank you so it's a nose that received it at this time the next item is adjournment so i would like to announce that it's 8 25 and

like to adjourn the meeting thank you everyone yes you
