001Hello, this is your daily call from Chris Whitley with Hannover County Public Schools with an important and heavy message. Well, time travel in a Delorean may not require roads, but our buses, staff, families, and student drivers certainly do, and that doesn't seem to be in our future for the rest of the week. So, please listen carefully. Travel conditions in Hanover County remain hazardous, particularly on secondary roads and within neighborhoods due to this weekend's inclement weather. With temperatures forecasted to remain below freezing, significant melting on roadways is unlikely, and we do not expect conditions to improve this week. These icy and snowy road conditions remain unsafe for our buses, student drivers, staff, and families. As a result, and please listen carefully, Hannover County Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 29th, and Friday, January 30th.
002Thursday will be a remote learning day. Employees use code six for both days, meaning at the earliest possible time only designated personnel report to work. All other employees work remotely as able. Please note that any designated employees who may be needed will be contacted directly by their supervisor. Again, Hannover County Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 29th and Friday, January 30th. Thursday will be a remote learning day. Employees use code six for both days. For the remote learning day on Thursday, all families will receive a parent square message from your students teacher that will include information about accessing assignments and how to contact the teacher if your child needs assistance. We encourage you to read the full message in Parent Square or on our website at hcps. us for more information. We understand
003this continues to be disruptive and sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to make the best possible decisions for our students and staff. We hope that sharing this information well in advance is helpful to you as you begin to make the necessary arrangements. In the meantime, we hope you stay safe and warm. Be sure to take good care of each other. Watch out for Principal Strickland. And whatever you do, don't be a biff. >> [music] [music] >> Heat.
