001Good afternoon and welcome to the 54th annual Suzuki Festival at the Academy of the Center for the Arts. >> [applause] >> This is my first year experiencing the Suzuki Festival as superintendent and I'm so excited to witness the cherished Lynchburg City Schools tradition going back more than five decades. What you'll hear today reflects years of dedication, practice, and a deep commitment to the music and arts. The Suzuki method is rooted in the belief that every child can learn and thrive when surrounded by a supportive musical community. Each spring this festival represents the culmination of that work. Bringing together all elementary and sixth grade Suzuki students with seventh through 12th graders joining the performers and leaders. Our high school students serve as song leaders modeling leadership and collaboration for our youngest players. And today's concert will

002begin with advanced selections and conclude with the tradition of hundreds of students coming together um on this very stage perform the Twinkle Variations. I'd like to introduce the string faculty. I know that they're busy moving about. Um if you're around, if you would please stand or wave um so that the audience can see you.
