My advice would be try to get the best education you can. Give it your all. You may get tired of the homework because I certainly did, but it helps to reinforce what was taught in the classroom. Don't take life for granted because I'm 75 now, but I lost some friends along the way before they even got into their 20s or 30s and whatever. Take [music] life seriously. Enjoy life, but be prepared for life's ups and downs. [music] Not go along with something because it's trendy. To do the right thing. >> The biggest thing is pay [music] attention. If you pay attention and listen, you can learn a lot. >> Read. Read as much as you [music] can about as many subjects as you can because it takes you places you may never get to go

personally. >> Be ready for the world outside of the community. [music] Uh but when you meet people from outside of your community, you are broadening your horizons [music] and uh learning more about uh other people and other cultures. Always follow your heart, not someone else. Be [music] yourself. Love yourself. No matter what people say about you, first rule, love yourself. I think studying and interaction with other children is really important. You know, group studies, um, those kinds of things I think help everybody. stay in school and listen to the teacher. [music] Put away these things that's distracting you like the phone for instance and uh get in the books. >> Diversity is strength and um that they need to be curious about other people and what they think and their experiences. >> Be diversified, you

know, learn different things. [music] ex expand yourself. Do things that you think may be uncomfortable for you. >> There's more in you than you probably think is in you. And that's what I got from my teachers [music] letting me know there was more in me than I thought was in me, what I was capable of doing. And I'm just so [music] thankful and grateful those teachers and just be thankful and grateful uh young people that you have somebody that is concerned about [music] you. stick with it and get your education and do much as you can because you're going to need it later on in life. >> I [music] want to stand in my little space because daddy said, you know, this is a big world and God is good. But I want to let

you know something. You go to school to learn. Don't let everything that somebody teach you or say to you go in one ear and out the other because one [music] day it's going to come back. It's going to be there. You're going to automatically know that you heard it. But [music] go out and stand in the dirt and take a stick and draw around your foot [music] and then step off of that and see just how much dirt you got to step on at a time. Stand on your dirt cuz nobody can stand on yours and theirs. So you got that much dirt under your shoe. Stand. Be strong. Don't be afraid. Always do what's right. >> Listen. [music] And listen sometimes. Sometimes what they say because it doesn't come off of Tik Tok or

whatever like your great aunt or your aunt and your grandparents or whatever. Listen to what they're [music] saying and because they've been there and they know and that's wisdom. I'd [music] like to see the young men respect the young ladies and vice versa. I'd like to see all of them respect teachers. >> Remember those that are going [music] back and forth to school with you. We don't know what their issues are, but be [music] concerned, be considerate, be compassionate, be caring, because [music] at some point you're going to need it yourself. You understand that while you're having fun and enjoying school and you know learning and making [music] friends that ultimately it's a preparation for the next stage of your life.
