Okay, so we're going to call the meeting to order at I've got 8:02. Uh All right, so let's see anybody um from the public here, Bill? Uh there are no members of the public. Okay, so no public com- comment. All right, first order of business is approval of the March 5th um meeting minutes. I'll make a motion to approve. Thank you, Vince. Second? Second. Thanks, Amanda. Any discussion? Okay, all those in favor, raise your hand. Let's see, we've got unanimous. Thank you. Okay, so commission status. So, Jens is moving back home. Hm. To >> [clears throat] >> Denmark or can't remember which Scandinavian country. Denmark. Yeah. >> Denmark. Um so, unfortunately, it's a that's a big loss for us and for the town. Um so, now we've once again got an open slot on the

commission. So, if you guys um he's moving in June, I think. Does that sound right? June? Yeah, I think that's when. So, uh Hm. He I have to get a like an official resignation letter from him, which I will follow up after this meeting, but um definitely want us thinking about who else we want to join us because um I think we've got a strong group here and you know, he brings he brought some technical expertise, but we should talk about what else we want um in terms of commission experience. So, thoughts about that? Anybody's talking, I can't hear you. Just thinking. Yes, that's okay. Um So, our next meeting is the end of May. So, um I think that'll be his last meeting unless he resigns before then. But again, you know, it's been

nice having five members. Um or Yeah, five. So, if you think of anybody, let me know and we'll pursue them. Okay. Okay. So, um Laura and Amanda and I did get a chance to look at the station policies. Um most of the updates that we did were cleaning up the reference to this commission and to the TCTV operations and to Laura's role. So, we didn't I Laura and Amanda, correct me if I'm wrong um cuz it's been a little, you know, it's been a couple weeks. Uh I don't remember us doing a whole lot of other changes. Um so, I'd like to send the the revised version out to you guys to take a look at um to see if there's anywhere that we want to elaborate on more. Um but we also needed to

clarify the approval process which starts with us. So, um I will send those out after the meeting and if you guys can give it a a read, I would focus on the areas that you're concerned about. Um a lot of it was really just getting Laura's title right and getting the referral to the commission instead of the old committee uh corrected. So, if there's things that you think need to be specifically looked at, um you know, send me your notes and we'll integrate them. So, any specific questions? No. Okay. Okay, before we move on, I just wanted to bring up that um Jeff and Matt Nelson and I met to go over the retention policy, content retention. Yep. >> Um and I can share the document with you, but basically the overview was that we

decided that Oh, and Jens as well. I don't want to forget Jens. Um we agreed that government meetings should be kept for uh 2 years space permitting. Uh sorry. My husband had the nerve to go upstairs, so my dog is upset about that. Um Yeah, so we've decided that government meetings should be kept on the the server for 2 years space permitting. Um And then after that Excuse me, hold on. Okay. That'll work. Um And then to store it for an additional 18 months on cloud-based storage, and after that things would be um the meetings would be deleted. And that keeps meet that keeps government meetings 3 years longer than municipal archiving requirements, which is 6 months. So, even keeping them on the server, we um exceed those requirements. And then we decided that educational

content would be stored for 1 year on the TCTV servers again space permitting, and then any content once it goes to the cloud server would be stored for 18 months. Um And then content would be deleted, and then we carved out some exceptions to this timeline, things like graduation, um economic and community events for local development events for local businesses, um PSAs. Um and then again, it's at the discretion of the station, so at my discretion, and then it can be a commission's discretion as well. Um And the only my only question or note for that is just um I would need some help some guidance setting up. I think Yancey had recommended and Matt, I think you agreed as well to um um it was an Amazon AWS Glacier storage. So I just need

a little bit of guidance um getting that set up if that's what we decide to do moving forward. So can you send me the written your written notes on that just so I can copy the exact >> Absolutely. I'll send it to the whole commission so everybody can read and if anybody has any um any further input then So that's how we'd implement this. On the Amazon Glacier? Is that what you said? Right, because my I don't remember the pricing immediately, but the storage is is very low cost where the cost comes in is retrieving things upon request. And then I think that you know, the next step would be to determine what the cost would be and to whom when things are retrieved. Because previously if people requested um when people would request a

recording they would request a DVD and then we would charge them for that. So there will be a charge associated with retrieving. So um you know, and I don't know if this is a discussion that we would have to have with the town because I suspect that most of the requests are going to be for things like building committee or planning and zoning like, you know, when a project comes into town. Yeah, and how we would accept payment. I mean, you we used to take checks um but >> And that would go to the town. Right. I don't even we have to double check whether we have a revenue line. Um Right. Right. Okay, so we got to we got to figure that out. Yeah. Laura, when you say um retrieving, is it a a

link that they would then receive? And is does it have a limited time on how long they can download it? I honestly do not know because I'm not familiar enough with this storage program. I don't know where, you know, that's something that we would have to look into. Okay. Okay, so the whole implementation process needs to be how we implement our our what our timelines are, but also how we would execute retrieval. Right. We've got the you know, we've got the how long we're going to keep it and how to get it in there. It's the what do we do from there that we need to to hammer out. And again, I'm not familiar enough with um AWS Glacier to answer those questions. So what's the right um path forward? Bill, do you have any

insight on this or Um in terms of sharing or in terms of revenue stream? I think let's start with the technical part of I'm just think does does it the same committee and does Bill need to be on a subcommittee to figure out, okay, how do we implement getting it up there, but also we need to do the next step of how do we get it down? I think Bill, if I don't mean to add one more thing to your to-do list, but it would be helpful if Bill were involved, especially because you know, there may be some if payment is involved and things like that. At least from an advisory perspective, it would be helpful. All right, so why don't you why don't you move that forward to how do we implement this at

least the implement the the upload and then try to get the list of the questions that raises in terms of retrieval because I think we're going to have to work with different parts of the town on that. Does anybody Bill, I mean Matt, Nelson, do you have any experience with this? Like how you post >> With Glacier, no. I mean I can We're keeping it on on local servers. So there's two types of implementation. So there's implementation from local server and implementation from Glacier. I'm not familiar with how much Glacier charges, but they make their money on the downloads. Okay. So Laura, what happens now if you've got something saved on the server and somebody wants it? What What do you do? If somebody's got it saved on the server, then I can First of

all, if it's on our the Vio Omnio server, which is where all the programming lives, they can retrieve it on VOD. But if I've deleted it from VOD, then it's stored locally and then I upload it to YouTube and I post it unlisted, so they can retrieve it with that link. So there's So then there's really three levels of retrieval. One is you can go to video on demand. Right. Well, I mean and that's not >> Then you pull it off video on demand, but it's still on our our server. And you'd have to get a link from you. If it's on >> it will be cloud. Well, no. The thing is what we're trying to do is get rid of that intermediary YouTube because once it gets off of the server and it's no

longer available on demand, then it immediately jumps to the cloud. So we're trying to get rid of that because right now instead of going to some offline storage, it's being stored on hard drives. Okay, so right now the proposal would be for 2 years it will remain on video on demand. So, people could get it themselves. >> space permitting which it should. And then it would move to the cloud and that and we would kick into another retrieval process which we need to figure out. Correct. Okay. Okay. Can I can I just ask how many requests you have for data that's 3 years old? Just so we know kind of where this fits into the Not a lot. Again, I will get things like um when trying to remember specific examples of requests. It would

be things like I want to say there was like the gas station on Main Street was being rebuilt and it would go to planning and zoning and it was or when sometimes um when somebody will come before planning and zoning or ZBA and request to develop a plot of land in town. Like for instance, I would foresee there's a plot on Booth Hill Road that they're trying to make a village residents district and I wouldn't be surprised if a year or two down the road people will request to look at these meetings. So, sometimes people will go to try to develop some land and then zoning either planning and zoning or zoning Board of Appeals will say no, you can't do this and then they'll come back with a different proposal and try and then

people will want to say oh, on this date this building came up. >> that that it's it's zoning stuff or It's not typical, but it does happen. Like things that are people may ask questions about things like I'm presume like >> How How often? Like how many times a year do you get a request for something that's not on video that's not on video on demand? Maybe once or twice. Okay. But that's you know, it's more the exception rather than the rule. Is that what you were looking for Jeff? Yes. Yes, I was just kind of going cost versus need kind of you know what I mean and how deep you want to go depending on like if it happens all the time then it's I think it's more pressing but you know what I

mean? You have to have it in the policy either way but it's just kind of like a weighted scale of how you know, how often it happens, you know. Can I ask too that the people that are requesting something like the zoning, is it somebody that's on the zoning board? Is it a a person that lives in town or is it a developer? It tends to be usually when people ask me for things, it's either somebody who's on the board or a town council member. It generally is an elected official. Okay. So they're looking for sub a supplement to the the minutes from the meeting? Right, some context of what happened in a particular meeting. Very rarely will somebody ask for a a school concert or some other presentation that they've they've made uh because

if they make those requests, it's generally something that's already on video on demand that I can just grab and put on YouTube without a problem. >> [snorts] >> It's these archived events that are like I said more the exception. And I just want to put something cuz again, I mean we have I have external hard drives of meetings and things from 2013 and I just you know, and some of them have failed and they fill up but you know, it just we need some policy. >> the concept of the policy makes a lot of sense. I think that now the question is, okay, how do we get on the cloud for those two years but if we're only getting asked a couple times a year, and and the the cost to us to download a

request is $10, then I don't know if it's worth putting, you know, a whole payment system in place. Right. We you know, we need some of the numbers around it to understand what it's worth expending our energy on, and you know, I think I think as a start, I don't think we need to put anything in place. Um if it begins to tick upward and become an issue where I'm getting frequent requests, then I can come back to the commission and let you guys know, and then we can decide to put something in place if it becomes a need. Okay. So, then the focus So, then the focus is on how do we understanding the glacier implementation for things over two years. Right. Okay. So, let's focus on that. Got it. Okay. So, you the

committee can do that with some support from Bill if it's necessary. Sure. Okay. Anything else on this? Okay, moving on to finance. Um our the current fiscal year, we're in good shape. Um still uh money in the budget. Um our editor, you know, supervising producer line is going to be tight, but we have to get a little supplemental or move some money around. We But we can do that. Um the town council the Board of Finance approved our budget. So, moved it to the town council. That vote is Monday. Um Unlike other years, um the town typically we have to, you know, go in front of the town council or the finance committee. Um this year they just said if you want to, or if you think you know, and here's the the organ you

know, the the commissions of the departments that have asked to present to town council, you can. We didn't I didn't see the need to do that since Board of Finance passed us through without really without comment, so um we didn't have to go in front of the the town council. So, uh the the vote is Monday. Uh I I you know, I think there's bigger issues for the town council to wrestle with than our budget, so I'm I'm pretty confident it's going to go through, but you know, we'll see. It usually takes a good week or so before you can see, unless [clears throat] you're watching, which I will try to do, um if anybody made any changes to us until you can see the finalized budget, but I think we're in pretty good shape.

Uh so May 4th is the vote. But if you're interested, you know, tune in or go to town hall, one or the other. Any other comments on that bill? Jeff? Nope. Okay. All right, programming, Lara. Programming. Um generally, again, it's a spring sports/concert season, everybody's favorite time of year, concert season. Um so, we've had a lot of interest with the kids recording and the adults recording uh spring, like I said, so that's been working well. Um as far as original productions, um Jeff Cochran, who is the technology education teacher, is going to be sharing with me um with students' permission their like a sort of a best of the best of his digital media uh projects, so I can share them on the station. So, um I'm looking forward to that because that can run

during the summer, which is great because that's, you know, there's not a lot of um educational or you know, school stuff happening. So, we will be able to do that. Um and then of course graduation is coming and Jeff and I sat on the first planning meeting for graduation. Um I have so both Matt N and Matt S will be joining us um in recording. Yeah, and Yens. So, I think that might be Yens swan song. So, um I've got three recorders and three you know three videographers and me. Um I may see if one other is available. Um two of our student videographers will be graduating. I did not ask Garrett because >> Which two are Memphis and um Lynn. Oh, they've been covering a fair amount. So, okay. >> Yeah. >> [snorts] >>

So, and I know that Elizabeth Amanda had asked me about getting on the schedule. So, um Matt S um she is going to shadow you recording rugby tomorrow. So, I'll put you two in touch so you guys can speak because you know again usually the way we like to get new videographers new students up to speed is just have them shadow an adults for a game just to kind of see how to set up the equipment, where to set up, and any you know tips or tricks. So, um Good. And we're going to lose Yens as a videographer. So, I'm making a note that not only do we need to fill his commission spot, but we need another daytime videographer. Yes, which has been posted. Um that's on the website. Um Mary, I might have

a suggestion for you for that. So, I'll reach out separately. Okay, thank you. And then um Drew has also been posting that on social media. So, but as far as um graduation like I said I did not I specifically did not ask Garrett because his son is graduating. Um so >> [laughter] >> Um So, the three videographers are are not Matt, Matt, and Yens or they are? Matt, Matt, and Yens are the videographers for graduation. Okay. And you're producing >> produce it, yes. Okay. Yes, because I do not have a graduate this year, but next year I will. But it will be my last, so. Okay, cool. Yes. Um so, anything else you need help on with that? Um not that I can think of. I mean, I've been I'll be working with um you

[snorts] know, I'll be working with Scott Secor as far as access to the building, so I'll be in touch with Matt, Matt, and Yens. Um my plan is, as we did last year, Yens was a great help um in the morning, we just got all the equipment together and loaded it up because at around 12-ish, they have to close the building to do a you know, a security lock, and then they'll have they'll come in with the K9 dog just to make sure everything is safe, and then um we should be able to get it. They you know, we should be able to get in by around two, so we can get it. And if I if we think we need to get in earlier, I can work with Scott, so then we can just

grab all the equipment, go to the field and get everything set up. And then Jeff, um you said that Pete will be on site to help us out. We will hardwire, so we're not worrying about Wi-Fi. Mhm. You just reach out to me with like a preferred time you want him there, even if it's a little earlier so we can, you know, set up, test, make sure everything looks good, so we're not scrambling at the last minute, and you know, so whatever works best for you, and I'll work around that. Okay, that sounds great. I will be in touch. So, what's the date again? It is Friday, June 12th. 12th, okay. Yeah. All right, that sounds awesome. Yes. And it's usually our most streamed event Yep. >> of the year by far, so um appreciate

the planning on that. Any other questions or comments on graduation? Okay, Laura, what else do you have on programming? Um that is pretty much it. Like I said, we're just kind of chugging along with sports and uh concerts. So. Sounds good. Yeah. >> All right. Now, technical. Now, technical. Um so far Server? Yeah, everything is running well. I mean, because we brought everything over, um you know, the server is filling up quickly. So, I need um I I will get a jump on that storage proposal, do a little bit of looking into um you know, we'll look into glacier. Um and then Jeff, I'll be in touch with um Pat just so I can offload some content in the meantime. Um closed captioning, we are captioning everything but sports because sports the caption tends to

be a lot of yeah, yeah, go go go. You know, it's a lot of you know, sometimes there's announcements, but for the most part it's not really you know, we don't need to hear dad's conversation. So, um and Matt's help on the Board of Ed uh captioning works. So, thank you very much. We no longer need to um you know, I mean, we have we did some research he did some research on an ad hoc captioning service, but I don't think we're going to need that right now because Premiere Pro has that that that AI functionality built into it. Um and basically it's it's fine. I've just been you know, QAing it because they like to think that the town of Trumbull's name is trouble. But and it botches people's names as one would expect.

So. Yeah, that's that's pretty much it with the technical stuff. Um you know, the equipment is knock wood, everything is still working. Yay. Yeah. And your new PC is working well. New PC is firing along, working a lot faster. It's not choking on everything anymore. So, that's great. Yay. Yeah. All right. So, anything else on technical? That's the shortest report we've had in a long time. >> [laughter] >> I know. Well, because a lot of this stuff is Finally. Yeah. Yeah. Laura, just one quick question. Just remind me, did they did they end up putting a UPS? Was that part of the install? That was part of the upgrade on the back end with the server in the server room. And and they obviously if they did it, they specked out the load cuz I

I never went in to put eyes on like the load on the UPS to see how long it would last if you did lose power before this equipment started shutting down. I would hope that they that's part of the project to be honest with you. I would Next time we're in the building, I I'll just kind of just take a peek to make sure that it's kind of you know, gives you some time. Sometimes they'll put it in there and you know, it wouldn't hurt to take a second look. That's all. I would appreciate that very much. Thank you. Yes. Thank you. Okay. Uh on to marketing and PR, Amanda, we are like everywhere. Ah, I know. What a great month it has been. >> Oh my gosh. Um I I have to say Drew

really took the took it and ran with it because at the same time um that he started like end of March, I personally started a new position. And so, >> [laughter] >> he I kept like every couple days I'd be like, "Oh yeah, Drew. I got to check in with him." Um but we have had um 8.6 thousand Facebook views so far, which was a 263% increase over the previous month. We're getting on Facebook approximately 300 views a day. Um not a lot of engagement in terms of likes or comments, but that's okay. At least our views are getting out there. Um Interestingly, he let me know that the on Facebook, the Hillcrest building meeting was the one that received um the highest views in the past month. Um Instagram has been slower. I think

we started with six and we're up to 31 followers. Um we're only getting about 31 views per post and that's even with stories. So, we know our people are out on Facebook. Um and we have to decide, you know, how much extra energy we want to put into building on Instagram if they're not there. Um or if they are going to be there in the future just based on generational use of social media. Um something that Drew brought to me, which I wanted to bring to the commission, was he feels as though what we're doing and and it's exactly what I wanted him to do. I wanted there to be um just a consistent level of posting for a month to kind of see what kind of engagement we would get. But he feels as

though every post is either click to watch this or um and for Instagram, go to our bio to click for more information. As opposed to educating or offering any kind of visual um excitement, if you will. It's just static graphics. So, he was asking whether he could cut up some highlight reels for the sports. >> [laughter] >> Lara says yes, yes, yes. Um, which I do believe would help on Instagram, too, because it's video is, you know, king on there with reels and stories and things like that. Um, the other idea that he had, and and this comes directly from him, is that he said if our goal is informing the public, then perhaps what we should be posting is kind of a here's what happened, especially for government meetings. Here's the top five takeaways.

And now you can go view it if you would like to see more. Uh, we don't have the budget for him to watch full, you know, finance board meetings, um, and do takeaways. So, it would probably have to be something that he grabbed from the minutes. But, based on our initial post, Kate, where we had to kind of change the tone a little bit, this is one that I would want to make sure we had the right people looking at what he was doing before it went out. Um, but I agree. I think it, you know, uh, social media is used for those kind of top line moments. I think concerts, I think sporting events. He did say that of the top five, um, viewed posts, three were sports. Um, so sports [clears throat] is

definitely something that gets a lot of traction for us. So, sports and and anything that's related to the students where parents are going out and watching it are always going to have a higher view. If we want to inform the public and get them more engaged in town meetings, he feels as though maybe starting to kind of teach them what comes out of these meetings might not be a bad idea. And quite honestly, I I thought it was really good. Yeah, I think that's a that's a really interesting suggestion. I mean, just the amount of data that you just brought back is Yeah. stunning. Yeah. So, why don't we work with him? Okay. I mean, trying to think about this. My other thought was >> idea, but I think I think there's something there that

makes sense. To not to say here this is coming up, but okay, this is what happened. So, watch next month or whatever. >> Right, exactly. Yeah. Yeah, it it kind of will reel people in a little bit. And again, inform them about things that they, you know, just posting and saying that this this meeting is happening. The chances of, I mean, I think our viewership is based on what that topic is, right? But, being able to teach the uh town about why these meetings are important, too. What information comes out of them. Um you know, I I I'm intrigued by it, honestly. >> Yeah, yeah, I think we should definitely explore it some more. So, I don't know if it's a call between you and me and Lara and Drew to talk to talk about

some stuff and see, you know, if we can you know, do some drafts that we can look at. Yep. Um Yeah, I mean, and I think the point about using it to build viewership on Instagram I think makes a total sense because that is, you know, it's old people like me that are on Facebook. Nobody in any younger generations are probably on it. So, we got to build We got to build the Instagram uh universe for ourselves. Oh my god, I feel like we've just taken this giant leap forward. Yes. And then again, Amanda, what I can do is um I think there's a folder for social media assets on Dropbox. Yeah. So, what I can do is I can also copy Yeah. um you know, like just I don't know if he wants an

entire folder, but I can actually give him all the raw, you know, copies and access to all the raw footage from the sports games because when Matt as edits I use Dropbox, you know, that's our sharing point. Okay. Yeah, I think that would be I think that would be great, you know, and then >> Absolutely, yeah. Um and I'm really curious to kind of see what the engagement what engagement happens, you know. >> Yeah, I was going to I was actually going to say I can even to make that easier cuz I've been thinking about doing how like cutting highlights and I was going to I've been wanting to bring that up for a long time. I think it's a great idea. Um to make life easier, I can even just kind of from the

edit that I do of the sports, just clip off like some of the bigger moments from the games and put them on Dropbox so he can just have them. And then he can kind of edit them into smaller reels, you know. Yeah, that's great. the whole scoring, the home runs, the Right. Yeah, exactly cuz they're long, you know, so like it'll make a lot easier. And then Matt, I'll like I said, I'll create, you know, I'll make sure on Dropbox there's a folder either just a folder for Drew with his name just so he he knows that all that's there. And then um you know, maybe I'll do that and or I'll call it just you know, highlights or something specific that Drew and and you will have access to so he'll know right where

to get all that stuff that's already like maybe not packaged, but at least shrunken down to more manageable bites for him. For sure. Yeah, that's exciting. Cool. >> Yeah, that's great. I'm glad Matt's excited. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, do you have any other thoughts about how we could be promoting our programming since you are doing, you know, a bunch of editing? Yeah, I mean, you know, I I've I've looked at it a lot from the sports perspective and um well, so the The reels and the highlights uh for uh like Instagram and even like Tik Tok or something would be great. But you know, a lot of what we shoot for sports is always like one camera wide and I know we don't have a lot of videographers to get tighter stuff, but even doing

stuff like before the game or after the game just with like the athletes either like pictures of them so like you know, spotlight pictures you can do like players of the week or players of the game. Stuff like that to post on Instagram and stuff could be really cool. Um or even doing like um I mean, I would even be open to doing like like photo shoots of them or like a little like interview segments with them to post on just to give more attention to like the actual individual students. Um or student athletes would be really cool. Um even on top of like building little highlight packages of them specifically. Just stuff like that, you know. So why don't you write some of that up and talk to Laura about it? And the other

thing I'm thinking Laura is I'm wondering if there would be any opportunities to put two videographers on one game from each sport so we get some of the tighter shots that we can use for promotional purposes evergreen at least for the this you know what I mean? Right, right. >> Yeah. I was also thinking too this could be a good tie-in with either the digital media students or the AV club kids. Yeah. Um because you know, it would be nice to have you know, um And the other thing too is that I can also talk to Mike King because Matt I know that every sport has a media day. Uh-huh. Um so like for instance, I have all the varsity boys volleyball um pictures cuz I have a son on the team. So, I have

all of those pictures that they took. Like, I have a team photo, I have individual photos. Um and those, I know every sport has those. It's just a matter of getting, you know, getting that contact information to get that. And then, like I said, um Amanda, I know that in, you know, for some of the daily announcement recordings, I know that Jeff Cochran has had athletes come in to do like green screen shoots and a couple things to get little uh you know, like uh the basketball, like the girls' basketball team, they had Michaela Diamond come in and like do a couple like air shots to sort of put over, you know, like you could put that motion graphic over a static. Right. Yeah, that's kind of the stuff that I was thinking of doing.

Yeah. And then, so definitely, like I said, that's definitely, yeah, if you write it up and we have a conversation and I'm more than happy to loop in Jeff and see how, you know, maybe this becomes something for the students, because I'm you know, as as the year, you know, the school year's ending and then as next year comes online, um I'm not sure how his digital media class is going to evolve. So, this could be something that could be, you know, integrated wherever it fits. Mhm. >> [clears throat] >> Which would really continue to drive home like the whole point of this was supposed to be this kind of collaboration. So, so exciting. And And the stuff Drew's putting out, I mean, it's beautiful. It looks It looks really good. Yeah, it really does.

He's very talented. So, yay, we were lucky to grab him. Very. And um you know, what he's putting out is coming at a a very reasonable price, I would say. So, >> Yes, definitely. >> Yeah. Really home run there. Yeah. So, um that is all I have right now. I haven't gotten much into the website stuff. Um, just trying to focus on the social media piece, but I will I will get back into that, too. Cuz I want to make sure that we are actually driving people to the site and that our you know, viewership is um, tying in with the amount of marketing that we're doing. Just making the note. Yeah. Also, Drew will be gone uh, for a little bit in May. So, I told him I would try my best to live

up to his level while he's gone. >> [laughter] >> Okay. Um, all right, that's great. Anything else, Amanda? Nope, that's all I have. And I mean, this is really good stuff. Love it. Okay, Trumbull High, Lara. Um, I've sort of woven a lot of that in >> Yeah. throughout the meeting, but um, no, Jeff is great. He's got a lot of um, you know, working on a lot of stuff, getting the kids up and running. He's um, you know, more than willing to share the stuff with the station as long as the kids are okay with it. Um, woodshop is working on those backdrop panels. I'm not really sure where they're um, where they are in that process. He's trying to push them along faster because the year is winding down quickly, but the plexiglass

panels have arrived to put in. Um, you know, he's been he's been going gangbusters, which is awesome. Like he's got the ladder up, he's looking at the lights and, you know, trying to figure out how to get them all connected so we can all control them from inside the control booth. He figured out how to um, he found a different piece of software for um, teleprompting and he figured out how to piggyback that onto two different two different cameras at the same time. He's hoping to get it piggybacked onto a third. The only issue he's coming up with is finding a piece of glass slim enough to be able to you know project the mirror image onto without it being blurry. So I mean he's like It's great. Really great choice because you know, he

likes to tinker. He likes to fix things. He's got a lot of great ideas. He's super enthusiastic and the kids love him. So it's great. Awesome. So how often are they doing announcements? Right now they're recording every other week because this is you know right now the announcements are being recorded by a group of kids in an after-school club. And as I was talking to another teacher about this yesterday, excuse me, the kids a lot of the kids who are in this club are also doing 5,000 other things. So you know every other week has been pretty much where they've been able to do it. Actually today after school they're going to be recording. So I will be there helping out and then they have one more recording of the announcements. So what they finally

figured out and again it's it's all trial and error and these are all kids who are doing a great job with you know learning and pivoting on the fly. So what we they realized and you know again Jeff as well is that Jeff is having his digital media classes create the b-roll stories while the club is actually doing the studio piece of it and they're recording it live and they're so they're learning how to you know use the switcher push in the the B-roll, cut back, and and do all those sorts of things. So, that's where that's been going. Um, next year we'll see what happens. It's going to, you know, again, it's the challenge of doing Yeah, the challenge of doing this is good division of labor, right? Between >> Yes. That makes sense.

So, >> And again, and again, that took time, too, because it used it was all the club kids doing all of the content, and it you know, it it's a lot because they also have classwork students. So, um, and again, it's you know, next year we'll see what happens. It's going to be getting kids up to speed and finding out who's interested, and you know, maybe at some point this becomes a period one class where they actually create and go live. I think that's the goal. But, you know, again, everything is baby steps. One step at a time. It's progress, so that's awesome. >> Absolutely. Forward is a direction. Wow. Yeah. Great momentum. Can I just add something? We we did a college tour this weekend, and broadcasting is what Elizabeth's interested in. And um,

the amount of people uh, that we spoke to that were so surprised that students were having this type of opportunity at the high school level. They they were just amazed, you know, that there was studio time, and anchoring, and and then the ability to also do feature pieces and things like that. So, um, as we move forward, I think uh, I just I just think that it's going to help a lot of kids that are interested in going into this. Wow. I'm I'm actually surprised to hear that, but that's great. Okay. Um, studio and curriculum. All right, that is that's very Oh, and then Kate, um, we haven't they [clears throat] haven't been able to connect yet, but I I put um, Katie Dunn in touch with Jeff just because I you know, to have

like to see if he wanted to have her come in and talk to the kids about you know, just her path forward, so. From TCTV on. I know. Our assistant [laughter] and Matt apologizes he got disconnected from his phone got disconnected, so. Oh, oh, okay. >> Bad ass, yeah. He apologizes for dropping. All right. This is This is great momentum. I'm I'm really excited. Wow. Okay, anybody have anything else? No new topics? Okay, so I'm sorry, all I was going to say is I was working with the vendor on um, you know, on the rain gear and I apologize for the delay. It's just, you know, so. Okay, rain gear working on. >> Rain gear working on. Okay, great. Um, All right, so unless there's any other orders of business, what I'd be looking for

next time is to approve the policy changes. So then we can do the rest of what we have to do to get that integrated. Um, we should probably think about whether we want to formally integrate the retention work that you guys did. Um, so think about that between now and next meeting and we can discuss. Um, let's just see if I have anything else on the list. Our next meeting is May 28th, so that'll be right before graduation. Which is literally 4 weeks, but I think that's a good timeline for us. And then, that's it. So any other comments, questions? All right, then I'm going to adjourn the meeting at uh I got 8:40 49. And thank you, everybody. Have a good good rest of the week and >> Thank you. We're we're >> Thank

you. blowing it, man. It's so good. All right, see y'all later. Thanks. >> Hi.
