001Today, we're here to celebrate 100 years of Barcroft. >> Um we're celebrating Barcroft's 100 years. >> We're celebrating the 100 years of Barcroft. >> [music] >> Uh so Barcroft's celebrating their 100 year [music] celebration. Um I believe it's the oldest school in Arlington is what I read. Um and I'm just here to come out and support the school. I love it. It's such a special place. >> We are doing a human chain, a picnic, and more. >> We're handing down a stuffed eagle cuz of eagles cuz we're the Barcroft Eagles. >> And there. Back home again. >> [music] >> The eagle is back home. >> [cheering] >> So, we're going to go to sing a song about 100 years of fun and how do we learn about our pictures and videos, like stuff of Barcroft.

002>> The kids did a whole parade down to the original schoolhouse, which is the community house in the neighborhood now. They had the Wakefield band out here. I didn't know that was coming. It was great. Um and they're just enjoying the day. >> [music] [screaming] [cheering] >> They decided to do the human chain and allow all of the staff and students to celebrate that connection from obviously the original location to where [music] they attend school uh currently. >> This is the Barcroft Community House. It was the first Barcroft school more than 100 years ago actually, and the the new school was built in 1925 over on Wakefield. But before that, this was a one-room schoolhouse, and Barcroft kids came here to school uh all grades, and eventually they added another room on the back um

003and the [music] school was here until 1925. >> Super excited. We're celebrating 100 years at Barcroft. 100 years of a really really special community. Learning, growing together. >> Barcroft is a good school with good everything and now it's 100 years of fun. >> And we never give up. But in our Barcroft is still going to be Barcroft is still going to continue. >> It's it's really exciting. I guess when we opened the time capsule that was a moment of real pause for me that kids have the same hopes that students 50 years ago had. They want a world without war. They want anyone to be able to be president, jobs for everyone. And what's neat is the community, the families. We're here to make that happen [music] for kids. That's what a Barcroft education does.

004It's about opportunity [music] and it's about a culture of family, community, and support. And I get to be part of it, which is amazing. >> HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BARCROFT. >> [music]
