I think that's really well done in light of the fact that we've had bargaining units of the largest scale hit our budget. We've been hit with the largest insurance trend that we've had since I've been on the board. Is that fair to say? 13% is right up there. >> So, we [clears throat] sit down with a million three before we open our books. To be clear, um I went through this as everybody knows I I do. Uh, and I think that there's something that should be brought to the record. To your point, Brian, you know, when you have salary fluctuations and the administration, the superintendent have to sit down and look at positions. That's never easy. But you have to look at them. And there's two factors. You have rising cost to keep a number

a budget low. And you also have to look at enrollment. You should be looking at enrollment. That's what we should be doing. So without the point4 to be clear, we're looking at 6.5 positions which have a base dollar amount without benefits of roughly uh what 480,000 plus benefits at 130 about $617,000 in reductions >> that were made prior to sending it to the board of education. So, I'm supporting this budget because I think it's a fair, balanced, wellthoughtout budget. Period. >> Anybody else? Tammy? >> Um, yeah, I will be supporting the budget as the superintendent proposed. Um, I will tell you though, I am a little bit concerned um with two different areas. Um, one is the cut of one full-time equivalent of the special ed teacher in the lower grades. I think that that's

really unfortunate and and can create a lot of havoc when you have an extra student in a special education classroom. Um, also the loss of the six pairs or not hiring the six pairs for the kindergarten classes. I think that that, you know, kindergarten's a tricky grade, but however, I'm hoping and I know for a fact that the superintendent um will keep an eye on it and if there is are changes that need to be made or something creatively that can be done to help support those teachers, I know that will be done. So, I am going to support the budget as is. Um, I want to thank everyone for the time they put in to getting this budget done and my colleagues on the other side of the day. They I respect all your

opinions and I think um your your heart is true when you say you know you want to add more to it to help the students and we all do. Um I am going to say I'm going to support Dr. Palado's uh budget because I support Dr. Palado. Um, I think she has the capability to turn the ship around and head it in the right direction. Um, I think she's just getting started and, uh, there are things that I would have liked to have addressed a little bit more deeply, but I'm going to defer that trust to Dr. Palato for right now. And, um, you know, just continue the trend that we're starting to see it moving in the right direction if we continue that u my, uh, with support. So, let's just keep it going.

>> Joseph With hesitation, I am going to support the budget. [clears throat] However, and I want this out there because I brought it up earlier uh during the budget discussions, I have not forgotten about those student parking fees. I will address that a little later in the year and I will probably never stop addressing zero. So, uh it's not really necessary for the budget as is and I will pick up a little later in the year. Thank you. >> [clears throat] >> Sorry. >> Um, I too will support Dr. Prolato's budget. I think it's very responsible. Uh, I don't like to see any teaching cuts. However, in light of the numbers, I feel that they they are reasonable and I am hoping that some of our wonderful staff who have, you know, who are ready

to retire um and are choosing to retire this year will make it possible that no one uh loses their job. That is that is my my hope. Um but I think the numbers are reasonable and I do again I trust Dr. or to keep an eye on things as Tammy said and and let us know if you know if we need to open something else up. We've done it before, we can we can do it again. >> Anybody else? Okay, before we vote, I just want to say thank you to the board members for the collaboration we had tonight. Um Tammy and Brian and um Tom, I know we've talked and I've gotten the pulse. I appreciate everybody. And with that being said, all those in favor, >> unanimous. Thank you everybody. >> Thank you

very much. >> Thank you. >> We have a budget. >> Thank you. We have a budget. >> Thank you, Dr. Thank you. A lot of work. >> We're going to move on to the monthly reports. I don't know if this is the time when everybody's going to exit. So, [laughter] if I could chance or do you want to stay? But, um, I need a motion to approve the monthly reports. So most Tammy all those in favor any discussion all those in favor that's everybody I need a motion to approve the board the bid I'm sorry the bid award for central office A& >> that is Eric I'll second it all those in favor I need a motion to approve the educational specifications for the Northville roof project. >> So moved. >> I'll second. >> Okay,

hang on one second. You go first. Okay, sure. [clears throat] >> Who's going to oversee this project? Are we using a collector works? So when they go to bid on A and that is they want to try to create an RFP that looks to get approach to the architect to hire a third party commonly done. They have not expressed which direction to go with us. I will comment that um uh given recent projects in this town and prior projects, every time we have a clip of work, projects go well. Uh invariably come in on time and and at budget. Every time we allow chaos to rain like we did the high school, well, we're replacing it twice and spending a lot. The bottom monies are paying out. Um, so I want to comment through >>

the chair through the chair then Tom uh to comment on Mr. Fail's point. We have the administration has stated both verbally and in writing that we believe a clerk of the works is the way to go with this project. So we uh we stand together on that. >> So um [clears throat] I've been at every NBC meeting >> what I do in my >> [laughter] >> We don't recommend it, but we do. Um, >> and this is the NBC's project, but I want to express my appreciation to Mr. Cunningham who drafted a draft suggested um, RFP, which included three different options that they can choose from for supervision from full clerk of the works to architect um, something in between. So MBC has plenty of information to choose how to supervise that job. So and

I will attend the meeting and hopefully they will go in full court but it is their choice. So I encourage you to come to uh the next meeting which should be the first Monday in February and you know speak at public comment and ne them in that general direction. So thank and thank you Mr. Cunningham. Anybody else? >> May I say just one thing? So, the educational specifications are required element when we apply to the department of administrative services for the grant for the roof. >> Um, and it has to be approved by the board of education and dated so then we can put it in the portal. So, just to give everyone background about why we do that. Those in [clears throat] favor? That's it, everyone. I need a motion to adjourn this meeting.

Tom, who's seconding it? >> Ryan. >> And let's vote. >> That's everybody. Thank you, everybody.
