call this meeting to order. If everyone could please stand and join us for the pledge which will be led today by four very nice young ladies that I had the opportunity to speak with before our meeting. They were earning their democracy badge. They are from Daisy Troop 76177. Okay, girls. Go ahead. I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. >> Thank you. Great job, girls. They had a lot of great questions and they wanted to know uh mainly what was in all the cabinets and drawers. Kurt, I wasn't sure what was in there. I told them they could open and they want to know why my desk was so messy, but we'll work
on that. Thanks for coming, girls. Get a good night's sleep. Have a good day at school tomorrow. Okay. >> All right. Next up. >> Chief, you going to go get the cheerleaders, sir? >> All right. Now that you got them under control, >> we'll wait for our uh cheerleaders to come in so we can recognize them. >> I could do the roll call. That might be important. Laura, would you like me to do roll call? >> Sure. Thank you. >> All right. Go ahead then. >> Trusty Matson >> here. >> Trustee Scaliz >> here. >> Trusty Galuza here. >> Trusty Riser >> here. >> Trusty Christopherson >> here. >> Trusty Wilson >> here. >> Mayor Baldin >> here. All right, Kurt, any other ideas to stall for time? Doing good. >> No, we're doing all
right. You bring them in there? >> I might be too scared to come in now. >> All right. All right. Well, I'll tell you what. We'll get back to them when they come in. So, we'll move to our consent agenda, which consists of four items. The minutes of the regular meeting for December 8th, 2025. Minutes of the regular meeting for December 15, 2025. Raffle licenses for 2026 for both St. Jude Church and School. and for Lincolnway Special Recreck. Does any member wish any of those items to be pulled and discussed separately? >> Are you >> If not, make a motion to uh adjourn. Motion for that, too. Make a motion to approve the consent agenda. >> So moved. Second. >> Motion by Trusty Madson, second by Trusty Wilson. Any comments or questions? >> Okay. Roll
call vote, please. >> Trusty Matson. >> I. >> Trusty Riser. >> I. >> Trusty Galooza. >> I And abstain from B. Trustee Wilson >> I. >> Trustee Scaliz >> I and abstain from B please. >> Trusty Christopherson >> I. >> Mayor Buff >> I. Motion carries. All right. Board joining us in the council chambers right now are the members of the fifth grade elite cheerleaders. Ladies, how are you? Good. All right. Well, come on. Your cheerleaders should be louder than that. How are you? >> All right. That's what I like to hear. They took second place at the 2025 A state championship. Team had many obstacles to overcome this season, but overcame them all one at a time. They won first place at three consecutive competitions leading up to the state championship. They placed second
at the A state championship and the coach says the entire team worked extremely hard, never gave up, which is ultimately what led them to their success. So, coach, we have uh a nice certificate of recognition for your group. So, I will come down and we'll ask our cheerleaders and coaches to come up please in front of the podium. Go back. All the tall girls in the back. >> Right in front of me. There you go. >> Come on in. There you go. There you go. Good. >> Am I covered? You got your medals on. Looking good. >> You got yours on. You forgot yours. That's got the trophy here. You know what? You forgot your metal. Why >> don't you hold on to this? There you go. >> Why don't you see it right on
the front? Go ahead. Go around the front so you can you can hold that. So, >> there you go. All right. Everybody else fill in. >> All right. You ready? >> Ready. One, two, three. And again and again and again. >> Girls, you're not finished yet. Um, coach, if you'd like to say something, coaches, if you'd like to say something, please feel free. And we have had Boy, this is the shiest group of cheerle ever. And well, don't don't be too shy because we've recognized a lot of champions, cheerleaders like yourselves over the years, and every single one of them before I let them go did a cheer for the group. >> So, let the co think about what chair you're going to do. coaches, please feel free to say something about the the great
effort of your kids and then you can do >> what it last time. So go ahead, buddy. That's on you. >> All right, let's hear. Bring it. >> Bring it. There you go. We called it for you. Everyone does. >> Yeah. Say a leak. >> There you go. >> Wait, what are we doing? >> Bring it. But say a le. >> You ready? >> Go ahead, Kate. You can call it. Start them off. >> Go ahead. Jump up there, girl. Don't be shy. I know. >> They're really never ever ever this fun. >> Don't let them fool you. >> All right. How do we start this thing? >> Bring it. Two, three. >> BRING IT. WE GOT THE GAME OFF. YOU KNOW our name. Come get it. BRING IT. WE GOT THIS BACK. YOU know
our name. Come get it. >> All right. Congratulations uh kids. Uh congratulations. That's a big deal when in second place at state like that. Coaches, we do know that um it takes an awful lot of time and commitment certainly from the kids, but from the coaches and from the parents to get kids to practice. Cheerleading, if anyone is not that familiar with it, it is a sport. It is it takes a lot of work. It takes a lot of great athletic ability, a lot of commitment. So, congratulations to all of you, to the coaches, and to all the parents for your commitment. you made us proud here uh in New Lennox. And is there going to be a this group together again next year? >> We'll see. They've they've been uh a lot of them
have been together since first grade. So, >> all right. Well, let's uh bring it back next year. All right. We'll celebrate you next year. Thanks for coming in, girls. >> See you later. Thank you, >> Keith. If they come back next year, you can go down there with them and join in now that now that you know the bring it cheer. >> That's that's right. There's big money sadly. >> Exactly. >> Justin was. >> All right. Well, they are going home to do other things. First up under order of business is consideration for approval of request for preliminary and final plat Cherry Hill Triangle. Robin. >> Um, yes. If you recall, uh, this property was annexed and zoned I1 Limited Industrial District, um, by Northern Builders for, uh, future industrial development. Um, the request tonight
is for a three lot subdivision. Um, lot one, they are in for site plan approval for, um, an automan, uh, a second facility for Automan. They are are already in the business park. Then there would be a uh 30 acre site for future industrial development that may be further subdivided in the future. And then on the west end of the property is a storm water detention facility. Um so the uh issue before you tonight is approval of this final plat. The plan commission reviewed it and recommended approval and all staff comments on the plat have been um resolved uh and addressed. And just uh as a reminder, in the annexation agreement for this parcel, the site plan does not have to come before the village board for approval there, we're down to just a couple
minor um staff comments. So, we would anticipate that that uh site plan and building permit would be approved in the near future. >> Okay. And I see the petitioner here tonight. Is there any questions from the board on this? >> No. All right. Very good. Is there a motion to approve the request for preliminary and final plan? >> So moved. Second motion by Trusty Scaliz, second by Trusty Wilson. If there's nothing further, roll call vote, please. >> Trusty Kristofferson I. Trusty Galuza. I. >> Trusty Scaliz. >> I. >> Trusty Wilson. >> I. >> Trusty Riser. >> Hi. >> Trustee Matson. >> I. >> Mayor Baldin. >> I. Motion carries. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> All right. Next up is request for site plan approval building code waiverss and plat of easement vacation for Tierling
Lakes amenity center. Robin. >> Yes. Uh, so the amenity center is that small little red piece in the overall Tearling Lakes, >> but it's kind of neat to see that it's showing up on Google Earth already. It's coming together. Um, but that's uh how it relates to the lots. It is uh the amenity center serves the 55 and older uh landings section of uh Tearling Lakes. The annexation agreement um anticipated this use, had a preliminary um site plan um but did require them coming back to you for formal site plan approval. Um, so the building is a little um over 10,500 square feet. Inside would be pickle ball and other activities and gathering spaces. And then there is a botchi ball court outside on the west side of the property. Um the the uh landscaping
would be done in compliance with what was attached to the annexation agreement. Um the building materials are a mix of um 2-in thick stone veneer on the bottom and Hardy board sighting. Because this is technically a commercial um building, it would have to comply with our masonry requirement. Um but if you recall, the annexation agreement for this portion of Tearling Lakes allowed um uh relief from all of our masonry requirements. So staff doesn't have any objection to this um fitting in with architectural character. Um and then lastly, um the annexation agreement said, uh indicated that no portions of any um improvements on this particular site could encroach into any existing easements. There is a covered porch uh very large covered outdoor area um that would encroach about 5T into an existing easement. So um as
part of this approval, the red line is where it would o um overlap. So that's proposed to be um vacated and then uh to in order to maintain the 20 foot wide easement, they would grant us a 5-ft easement uh showing where the green is so we would still have have the desired width. >> Excellent. >> And I know the petitioner >> petitioner is here tonight. Rob, anything you want to add at this time? >> Please just come up and state your name for the record. Good to see you. >> So, uh Rob gets vice president of land for PY Homes. And I think I just like to state that uh we appreciate your continued support on this project. Uh we've had a fantastic uh first month. I think we you know started sales the
very last day of November and uh you know to date we have 26 contracts already and I think we have a couple more pending right now. So it's been fantastic. We appreciate your support. Uh and if you have any other questions about the the amenity center, I'm here to answer them. Now, I have to tell you, of all the uh subdivisions we've been in, all the residential development has been involved in. I've gotten more calls from residents about this. They are really, really excited. And uh we we knew it would be successful. That's a beautiful piece of property. You guys do a great job. So, uh we're really excited about that. That's good. Any any questions for Rob? >> Anything? >> All right. Well, it's good to see you here. We appreciate it. >> Thank
you, sir. >> All right. Is there a motion to approve uh the uh the site plan? >> Absolutely. >> With the waiverss in place. >> Okay. Motion by Trusty Madson, second by Trusty Galuza. There's nothing further. Roll call vote, please. >> Trustee Madson, >> I. >> Trusty Riser, >> I. >> Trusty Galuza, >> I. >> Trusty Wilson, >> I. >> Trusty Scaliz, >> I. >> Trusty Kristofferson, >> I. Mayor Bald, >> I. Motion carries. Okay. Next up is consideration of an ordinance granting an amendment to a special use for preliminary and final PUB plat A gardens. First three >> um yes. So A Gardens is that event center that is just south of Taco Bell and Beimo Harris Bank um adjacent to Veterans Parkway. The um original PUB was approved in November of 2024. Um
the project is under construction. When it was originally approved, there was an ft enclosed glass patio to the east side of the property. Um because of the time um it would take in order to get that fabricated and installed and create potential delays in completion of the building. They are proposing to um change that to an open air patio at this time. Um so you can see that on the approved elevations the blue it would have been the glass um enclosed patio and now it is just uh six foot tall masonry uh fenced in area. There's a slightly taller portion where there's an outdoor fireplace. Um but because the it is now being switched to an indoor um or an unenclosed patio, uh staff felt it was necessary. This was a major change that would
require plan commission and village board approval. Um the ordinance that um is proposed uh in packet uh establishes the hours of operation um from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. unless the liquor license requires something else. There should be no outdoor um speakers uh entertainment, live music. Um this is truly for an outdoor gathering area. Another um provision is that this cannot be rented out separately from an event that's taking place inside. Um but subject to those conditions um staff is presenting the ordinance for first read. >> So the issue is the amount of time that it would take to get that enclosed. Petitioners here, please step forward. State your name for the record. Is that >> Go ahead. My name is Blake Caldwell. >> Yeah, Blake. Is that is that the issue? Yeah. So, for
the most part right now, it's just engineering. The engineering to make something fully glass enclosed. You guys might be um familiar with what is it? R&H and Oakbrook. How they have the glass enclosure as well. That's kind of what we were shooting for, but engineering to get all the steel and everything to kind of line up and be able to be supported is just taking longer than it should have. So, we still have plans to do this in the future, but for now, we want to keep the building and get it completed and get everything open. So, we want to switch it to open for the time being. >> Well, see, that's that's the question that I have is so the way that you're proposing to construct it um is what you would be doing
if it was fully enclosed. It's just you're not able to do that at this time. >> Correct. >> Because I I don't know how the board feels about it. I'm not thrilled about this open area thing. Um, my own personal opinion is if you say, "Look, it's going to take an additional x amount of months in order to get it enclosed, then we don't want to hold up your project either. It's been taking too long as it is." Um, but I would want it to have an end date where that could be used so it would get fully enclosed like it was originally proposed. As long as that is still doable with this construction. I mean, that's my thoughts. I don't know how the rest of the board feels about it. Any other comments from
>> just a question. So in the future if you are going to move forward with installing the glass enclosure, are you >> are you building on top of the masonry fence or is that going to be removed? >> Uh not the whole thing. It'd probably have to come down couple feet and then the glass would go on top of it. >> So you got additional expense being incurred because you're having to build this fence and then demolish a portion of it. >> Yeah, I guess a slight bit. slight bit of additional expense. Nothing nothing drastic though. >> I have a question. So, if it's not able to be rented outside of what's happening, you know, inside the building, what would be the purpose or the intended use? Just like a smoking gathering area. >> Uh,
more than that. So, I guess it'd be a nice area for pictures as well. Um, it'd be an outdoor area, you know, a place for people if they're in the event and they want to have a private conversation, they could get out there and if they would like to smoke, that'd be another intended use for it. >> So, is it going to be like fully landscaped and decorated or is this just going to be a fence? >> Well, it's a it's a full masonry stone wall. >> Okay. >> With a fireplace outside. Yeah, >> I missed that part. Sorry. Just to answer my question, how how long would it take for you if your intention was to eventually finish it, how long how much time would you need to be able to do that >>
for to get the finished drawings? I mean, it's it's been taking a while with the engineers to kind of work out everything. I would anticipate maybe maybe a year to have everything completed and >> and constructed >> and to get into construction. Yeah, >> mayor. I'd like to see him lock in a date of completion of this project >> to have it fully closed. >> I I mean, I guess and again, >> I guess I'll defer, Brian, because you do this. Um, >> this this the building looks beautiful, but it has been a very long drawn out process, much longer than I thought it was going to be. When it was originally designed, wasn't this all taken into account of how long it would take to to put this in? Because you've been under construction
for how long up there now? >> Uh, a little over a year, I believe. >> Yeah. So, I I guess if it was originally designed that way, wasn't that year long enough for them to get the steel or glass or whatever they needed so you could complete the enclosure at the same time as you've completed the building? I guess engineering just took longer than we anticipated. >> Brian, do you have any insight on that? >> I I just I find it a little odd that you're putting a lot of of additional funds into a full masonry, 6ft high fence, fireplace, all that sort of thing. I I just feel as though the request is maybe coming from a different place. Um, you know, maybe it's a different desire at this point. I just I find
it just a little strange that um we had an enclosed structure and now the I don't want to call it an excuse, but it seems as though the excuse is that we just can't get it done in time. In my in my world of construction, um I I don't see how it would take that long, especially seeing that it has been under construction for, you know, as you said, over a year now. So, that's that's where I'm at with it. Um, I do think that if we're going to approve this, that we do need to put a time limit on it. And I I feel a year I feel that that's even too long. >> How much How much longer do you think you have until you're ready to come for occupancy? I mean, >>
cuz we have it tied in that they can only have 50% occupancy until the light and everything is But how long do you think it is until you're ready for >> till we're fully open? >> Yeah. Uh, >> I mean a 50% open to the point I won't >> right. Yeah, because we can't we can't have it fully open actually until that's all in. Um, but I would What are we at? January. >> June. The beginning of June. End of May, beginning of June is what we have planned right now. >> I mean, you're so deep into this project. I want to be personally I want to be supportive of you and see it going. But my thoughts and again board whatever whatever you want to do my thoughts are not only would I want
to have a time as to when it's constructed but that it's not an area that can be used until it's 100% so it's not part of the 50% occupancy um because this is on the east end correct? >> Yes. So they're only able to use half the the cap building capacity until the lights up. Correct. >> Correct. >> So I wouldn't want it to be half the building and then this How long How large is this outdoor area? >> Just under 1900 square feet. >> Couple thousand square feet. >> All right. B, what uh what do you want to do here? You do have a first read so you can they can come back with some more information. >> Yeah. But I but I also I want I want them to know what you know
what the board's desire is here. >> I guess go ahead. >> I say for me I'm not really a huge fan of not having enclosed especially because fireman's park is what backs up to this. >> So there's going to be people out granted there's six feet tall walls. There people out there drinking smoking with children >> right next door to it essentially. >> Yeah. So the tall wall is nice, but um and I'm not as well as versus Brian with construction. So the glass enclosure, this is the same size glass enclosure just without the glass. So you could just build on top of it. >> Or is this going to be a different size and shape? So you have to redesign the glass. >> Same size. >> So everything's the same. You just have to
put glass on top of that then except for you're saying that the wall won't be 6 feet tall. You have to remove some of this the wall. >> Correct. >> And what about there's So there's an outdoor fire >> fireplace. fireplace. So that's no longer >> functional when it's enclosed, is it? >> Right. >> That type of fireplace >> there would still be the chimney. >> Oh, it's still so it so it is going to be constructed to where it can be the indoor enclosure can go around >> the chimney. >> Okay. >> All right. So I mean we want to give them some direction if we want to give a x amount of period of time >> uh that it can be used. Go ahead. Well, just practically speaking, if it's if it's a
year, even if it's two years out, I'm not 100% confident that we'll have all the approvals and complete the improvements from the state. So, if if the board's consensus is that it can't be used until the light is operational, it's kind of a moot point >> to that point. Why? >> Well, no. I mean, I don't want it to be used until I mean, it's enclosed with the exception of exception of, you know, if it's going to be for 6 months, but then at the end of that 6 months, if it's not um if it's not enclosed, then it it's no longer can be used. Cuz I because I would tend to agree. I think what will end up happening I mean you may be well intentioned now but I mean I don't know what
the expense is but you I could see you coming back before the board saying well we don't want to enclose it it's been working out well we haven't any issues we want to leave it open and I'm not a fan of it being open >> my only concern too going back just to the construction side of this is >> I I'd like to see that you guys are actually taking a look at what this glass enclosure is is going to be fastened to you know are you planning on uh utilizing the the peers around this fence. Um again, I I feel as though if that's not being thought through now, it could add to the time that it takes to get this done because you may have to rethink this whole thing once this this
masonry fence is up and then you move forward to try to do the enclosure. It just seems odd to me. I'm looking at some of these sections and things and you know, there's a lot of uplift on a structure like that. I just don't know that that's all being thought through and it may add to the timeline later. Not up now, is it? That wall's not up now. Correct. >> No. >> So, what's in that space now? It's just not built on yet. >> No, not yet. >> They poured the foundation. >> The foundation foundations is similar. Whether they had the fenced area or they had the the the structure, so that that meant what was going in his father's foundation. >> I I don't know. I'd rather just see I mean, I don't know
what it looks like out there, but nothing until you can build. >> That's what I was going to say. I think that if your intention was to build the enclosed structure regardless, why spend all the time and money doing this to then have to build a new structure? Like it seems like it was going to take even more time. Was this proposed to get away from the glass or or I feel like until the mayor brought it up like are you trying to cut costs and eliminate this portion of the project alto together? No, that's not the intended purpose of it right now. Like I said, the it's just the time that it takes for engineering to get everything moving. It made more sense for us to just make it an open patio for now
so that it's still open and everything looks correct and that there's at least, you know, somewhat of a outside area for people to stand and get pictures and and get away from the main event for a private conversation. >> But there wasn't going to ever be an outdoor area. It was just going to be an enclosed, >> right? Uh, still. Yeah, it was still. >> And that and that and the the purpose of the enclosed area was for that to go in there and take pictures and do separate stuff. >> No, the purpose Well, another purpose for the enclosed area was another event space that could be rented. But but like we said in the agreement, there can't be they can't be rented if it's open. >> I think we should just leave a footprint
so that they can have an extended period of time to build the enclosure cuz now it seems like it's two completely separate purposes. what foundations are in. Is that correct? Is that what I heard? >> Yeah. >> Is there a way to revisit the timeline on the enclosed structure and see if it lines up with the delay in the light being installed? >> Well, that could be a long time. But but you're saying you're going to be open in late May or early June. You can't get that in in enclosure done in 6 months is what you're saying. >> Yeah. >> And is that necessary for the half capacity? That's what I was wondering >> to use that enclosure for the half capacity. >> Yeah, I mean there are there were there was approval originally
and still the plan that there's smaller patios that are not enclosed on the north and south sides of the building. So there is still some outdoor area >> that was already approved and would not be changed by this. >> So they have an outdoor >> so they do have two small outdoor patios. So, if the board's not inclined to approve this deviation, what happens with that space? And what would you what would your options be >> in the meantime before you could enclose the space? >> Pretty much nothing. >> It's just vacant space. It has to be cleaned up. >> Concrete? >> Yeah, just concrete until you can do it. >> Are the foundations installed for the original plan for the glass structure or are they installed for this? Right now, >> the foundation was
based around the same thing. >> Okay. >> so it the foundation is saying can handle the glass enclosure that you originally proposed. >> All right. Um, is there an appetite to uh let him build the outdoor structure as he's proposing right now? I we want to give him direction. I'm not I'm not inclined. I I would say it's all or nothing. >> That is where I'm at as well. >> I agree. >> Yeah. >> Same. >> Brian, any comment? >> Yeah, I I agree. Okay. All right. So, you can work with staff and see if uh but it doesn't look like and and I think Jim makes a good point. Um, you know, the north and southside outdoor patios are one thing, but that east side is another. And especially some that's 2,000 square feet
and um I just that was not when the board approved this project, that was not what we wanted. Okay. If there's anything else you can work with staff on, that's fine. But, uh, until that time, if uh, I don't see bring it back, but I don't see it going anywhere. >> Okay. All right. >> Good. All right. Thanks. All right. Very good. Okay. Next up is consideration for approval uh resolution authorizing a renewal agreement Sports Key Crossroad Sports Complex. Scott. >> Yes. Uh thank you, mayor. Thank you, board. Uh staff is presenting a two-year renewal agreement with SportsKey for the continued licensing and operation of our online facility management and booking platform at the Crossroads. Um, currently Sports Key is operating very well. We're working with Handinhand to build uh the platform uh and just
make it more user friendly. Uh, but we are recommending this 2-year renewal. >> All right. Very good. Thank you. Any questions for Scott on that? >> All right. Is there a uh motion to approve the resolution? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Motion by Trusty Christopherson, second by Trustee Scaliz. If there's nothing further, a roll call vote, please. Trusty Madson. >> Hi. >> Trusty Riser. >> I. >> Trusty Galooza. >> Hi. >> Trusty Wilson. >> I. >> Trusty Scaliz. >> Hi. >> Trusty Christopherson. >> Hi. >> Mayor Baldwin. >> Hi. Motion carries. Thanks, Scott. Next up is consideration for approval of a purchase for the crane exhibit for kids work. Beth. >> Yeah. Um, so in December, the village was very lucky and grateful to receive a $20,000 grant from Dimension Energy. They're the company
that's the owner and operator of the rooftop solar project on Baron's Road. Um so with this grant money, we proposed um and were um approved to purchase a crane to replace the construction crane that's currently in the museum, which has had a whole host of problems since it was installed. Um so with that, um with that $20,000, that's going to cover the majority of the crane. Um because we were just purchasing the um oh, what was the last one? The SUV from the same company, we were able to get the crane at a 20% discount. Um and there's about $3,000 remaining um for the village to cover or we can look at sponsorships or fundraising dollars for that as well. So, we're looking for the board's approval to make that purchase with the $20,000 grant
to cover the majority of those costs. And before we um get into this, just tell the board a little bit about that dimension grant and the reoccurring and how that works. >> Yeah, so um Dimension Energy has a $20,000 grant to give to STEM related programming and um organizations in New Lennox for the next oh I don't know the number off the top of my head, but many many years. um the program that they're doing is funded by the um or they they're getting grant money from the state that then has to be given out to these organizations in New Lennox. So, we've been working with them to help spread the word about their um their their programs and their organization and they are very kind to consider kids work for the grant money. >>
Right. and um potentially for future >> correct >> uh mostly for kids work with is uh Beth works with Nicole and staff over there on programming and STEM related activities. So it's nice that things that would normally come out of our taxpayer budget will be coming from this grant and our only obligation essentially is to um let the residents know that Dimensions out there. We're not tied to anything else. Not an endorsement, just that it's a a legitimate company that's out there doing what they're doing. So it's pretty good. Any questions for Beth on that? It's great. We got that grant. Uh, and we have minimal out of pocket costs. I just one question. Are we in pretty good shape on the rest of the exhibits at this point? I know we've had to replace
a few things here and there. Is there anything in the near future that's that's coming up that we need to think about? >> Yeah, we've had some conversations. So, everything is fine, but what you always want to do is keep it fresh and do better. And we've got, for example, you know, we approved uh a sponsorship from Phillips. And so we're using their money to do the kids. Uh we're now working with two other sponsors. We haven't finalized that yet, but we met them at the museum the other day uh to upgrade uh some of our exhibits as well to make them more interactive and and friendly. So what we have is fine. It's working. Everything is good. But when we have these opportunities for grants or sponsorships that specifically need to go for something
like this, it's better to say, "Okay, what we've got is good, but how can we upgrade it on someone else's >> dime in particular to make it even more interactive for kids?" >> Okay. All right. Is there a motion to approve the purchase? >> I got a quick question. >> Oh, sure. Go ahead. >> Um, >> I mean, it is what it is. There's going to be kids playing with this and the game's going to be how much weight can that thing lift up. Is it possible to design this thing so that the breakable parts are easily fixed so that we don't have to replace this every few years when boys try to lift their buddy with the crane? >> So, I can say with this particular design, it's different than the current crane that
we have in place because what you can't really see in that image is there's a magnet holding the platform to the um the rope that connects to the top of the crane. So, if a kid tries to hang from it, it's coming right down >> by design. >> Yeah, that's good. That would not >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Yeah. And we did talk with um two or three other >> kid just pictures that I didn't say any kids' names. I just >> we we spoke with two or three other museums that have this exact same piece in their facilities and they all said it works great and they've got no complaints. >> All right. Very good. >> All right. So, we had the motion moved. Uh motion made. I need a motion uh to approve the
purchase for the CR. >> So, moved. >> Second. >> Motion by Trusty Riser, second by Trusty Madson. Any other comments or questions? Roll call vote, please. >> Trusty Christopherson. >> Hi. >> Trustee Guza. >> Hi. >> Trusty Scaliz. >> Hi. >> Trusty Wilson. >> Hi. >> Trusty Riser. >> Hi. >> Trusty Matson. >> Hi. >> Mayor Bald. >> Hi. Motion carries. All right. Next up, we have consideration for approval resolution adopting a social media policy for the village. New Lennox. Beth. >> Yes. Um, as we've been working to streamline our marketing communications efforts, um, it came to our attention that the village doesn't have or didn't have a formal written social media policy. We worked with the village attorney attorney to get something put together. Um, and this essentially um it it clarifies that the
village and our social media pages and our interactive websites are limited public forums. So, we do we do have the um the right to hide or delete comments that are um vulgar or um you know provoke violence. There's a whole host of of things that might not be um or that would be prohibited by the policy. Um, so this gives us the right to keep an eye on those sorts of things. >> All right. Any questions for Beth on that? Is there a motion to approve the resolution? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Motion by Trusty Scooy. Second by Trusty Christopherson. There's nothing further. Uh, do a roll call vote, please. >> Trusty Madson. >> I. >> Trusty Riser. >> I. >> Trusty Guza. >> I. >> Trusty Wilson. >> I. >> Trusty Scaliz. >>
I. >> Trusty Christopherson. >> I. Mayor Bald. >> I. Motion carries. Okay. Next up, we have consideration for approval of proposal space needs analysis and master planning for public works facilities. Tree of Architects, Mark. >> Yes. Um, so as the village grows and our equipment needs grow, um, we're starting to to fill up down at the public works facility. So, we we sat down, met with Tree Architecture a few weeks ago and discussed potential um other facilities or expansion of our current facility. Uh we do have a few properties that may be benefit or be able to be used for this. So uh the next step is for them to kind of see what our space needs are um and what makes sense from a a master plan. Um so their proposal is to not
exceed $27,750 and it's our recommendation to accept it. >> All right. Questions for Mark on that. >> All right. Is there a motion to approve the proposal? >> So moved. >> Second. Motion by Trusty Scaliz, second by Trusty Christopherson. If there's nothing further, roll call vote, please. >> Trusty Christopherson, >> I. >> Trusty Galuza, I. >> Trusty Scaliz, >> I. >> Trusty Wilson, >> I. >> Trusty Riser, >> I. >> Trusty Matson, >> I. >> Mayor Balderman, >> my motion carries. Thanks. Okay. Under reports and communications, I've got nothing tonight. We have no need for a work session next week. >> Correct. >> So, we'll come back on the 26th, I think it is. Is that right? Okay. Yes, sir. >> All right. All right. If there's nothing from me, village attorney. >> Thank you,
village administrator. >> Nothing further from staff. >> All right. Thank you. Payroll and dispersements. Trusty Matson. >> Yep. I make the motion to approve our B monthly dispersements in the amount of 6,469,34340. In addition to these dispersements, approval is needed for payroll in the amount $556,11959 paid on December 26, 2025 and a payroll in the amount of 586,8326 paid on January 9th, 2026. And that would be in a form of a motion. >> And I will second that. >> All right. Motion has been properly moved and second. Any comments or questions? Roll call vote, please. >> Trusty Matson, >> I. >> Trusty Riser, >> hi. >> Trusty Galooza, I. >> Trusty Wilson, >> I. >> Trusty Scaliz. >> Hi. >> Trusty Christopherson. >> I. Mayor Bald. >> My motion carries. Anything else, Keith? >> No,
sir. >> All right. Thank you. Any questions or comments from the floor? Got a couple scouts here. Is that what's happening? Earning badges. No questions. >> All right. Very good. Keep it up with scouting. That's great. Good to see you here tonight. All right. Trustee comments. Trusty Riser. >> Nothing tonight. Mayor. >> All right. Thank you. Trusty Manson. >> Go Bears. All right. Trusty Christopherson. >> Nothing tonight. >> Thank you. Trusty Guza. >> Nothing tonight. >> Trusty Wilson? >> Nothing. >> Trusty Scaliz. >> Nothing for me. >> All right. We do have a need for executive session tonight. Under matters of land acquisition. We will not be coming out to open session and voting on anything. So, is there a motion to turn to close session? >> So, move. >> Second. >> Motion by Trusty
Matson. Second by Trusty Scaliz. A roll call vote, please. >> Trusty Kristofferson, I. >> Trusty Galuza, >> I. >> Trusty Scaliz. >> Hi. >> Trusty Wilson. >> Hi. >> Trusty Riser. >> Hi. >> Trusty Madson. >> Hi. >> Mayor B. >> Hi.
