Call the Thursday, November the 13th meeting to order. Madam clerk, please call roll. >> Present >> Here. Next, we'll move to item 1.3, the approval of the agenda. This is an action item. >> Mr. Chair, I'd like to approve the agenda. Agenda as printed. >> I second the motion. >> Motion made by Mr. Payne, second by Miss Cunningham. Any discussion on the motion? Any discussion? Madam clerk, please call. >> Yes. Next, we'll move to item 1.4. Moment of silence and pledge laid by Dr. Williams, >> if y'all could please stand and join me in a moment of silence. >> Now for our pledge. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >>
Thank you. Next, we'll move to item 2.1, approval of minutes. These are the minutes from our October 16th, 2025 regular meeting. This is an action item. >> Mr. Chair, I move that we approve the minutes as presented. >> Second. >> Motion made by Dr. Williams, second by Mr. Payne. Any discussion on the motion? Any discussion? >> Hearing none, madam clerk, please call. >> Yes. Next, we'll move to item 3.1, recognitions. National School Psychology Week, November the 3rd through the 7th, 2025. At this time, I'll turn it over to Miss Casey Cunningham. And if Dr. Snell leaves, school psychologist come forward. Danville Public Schools National School Psychology Week, November 3rd through the 7th of 2025. Whereas [clears throat] all children and youth learn best when they are healthy, supported, and receive an education that meets their
individual needs. And whereas a supportive learning environment which promotes mental health is crucial to a child's learning and development. And whereas school psychologists are specially trained to apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. And so, we would like to thank Dr. Stephanie Snail and Cassandra Jefferson Davis, our two school psychologists here, and we want to thank them for all the work
and the dedication that they do every day. Thank you. [applause] >> Okay. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Next, we'll move to item 3.2. This time we have a special recognition and that I would ask Mr. Gary Terry to come forward, please. On behalf of the Damble Public School Board, I would like to extend our deepest appreciation for your service as an interim board member until a special election. Thank you for stepping in with such commitment and integrity during this transition. Your presence at events, your steady voice of wisdom, and your unwavering dedication to our children and staff have made a meaningful impact. You have been a true champion for our school community and your leadership has been both valued and respected. We are grateful for the time, energy, and heart you've invested in his role. Thank
you again for your service and for supporting the mission of the Dam Public Schools. Let's give him another round of applause. [applause] >> Before we take a picture, Mr. Terry, if you would like to share any comments, any any comments? Uh, sure. Um, I'll be very brief. Uh, first I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve with you over the past few months. I think that, uh, people don't understand the amount of effort and the amount of time that you put in to, you know, lead our school system. So, I want to thank you for that. And for Dr. Harrison, over the last few months, I've had a chance to see what goes on back behind the scenes. And in the schools that I visited, talking with staff, they all love
you. And I think the culture that you're setting bodess very well for the school system. Very, very well. I want to let you guys know I'm not going anywhere. If there's ever anything that you need, anything that you feel that I can help you with, please, please, please feel free to call on me. And thank you again. >> Thank you. LET'S GET [applause] Let's give them both another round of applause. [applause] Next, we'll move to item 4.1, public comments. We have any? Next we'll move to 5.1 update on cyber and innovate aviation. Chairman Grace, Vice Chair, Miss Ait, board members, and superintendent Dr. Harrison. Good evening. I am delighted to provide an update on the progress and achievement of the innovate middle school and the motivate high school STEM programs as it relates to our
um strategic plan. The goal is student achievement. The objective is to increase college and career readiness for all students. Um one of the two initiatives is increased work-based learning opportunities and also increased post-secary readiness. As a reflection, I just wanted to bring back to your attention the eight STEM and career pathways that we offer. Starting with international business and culture, building and manufacturing technology, health and human services, law and leadership, advanced technology, environmental science, hospitality and tourism, and aviation science all create the activate, innovate, and motivate STEMmies. So for the innovate pathway we offer four courses at our innovate STEM academy engineering exploration goeekch cyber security and aerospace sciences for a total of 177 students are enrolled in the innovate middle school program for the first and second semester which is phenomenal for a brand
new initiative for our district. for the motivative academy which is located on the campus of George Washington High School. We offer meatronics and engineering applied engineering design through hands-on projects. We have currently 46 students involved in that program. We have environmental sciences where students learn agricultural concepts for both rural and urban living. Currently we have 15 students enrolled in that program. and aviation sciences where students have the opportunity to explore aerospace technology, flight, space and supporting technologies like drones and the logistics behind them. Currently we have 11 students in that program and also provided you which you all are aware of the aviation simulation machines that um students and adults like both. So we have a total of 77 students in the motivate program. What's the impact and opportunity for our students? Stoners gain hand
on hands-on learning labs, career exploration opportunities and industry partnerships that strengthen the post-secary education and work path workforce pathways. Credentials and specialized coursework create a competitive edge as students pursue postsecary um education metriculation opportunities. And what's our plan to attract and recruit more students into both programs? Well, we have offered the choice program guide which students are enrolling into choice programs, which both of these are. We also have our fifth and eighth grade um tours that will be coming up in December. And we've also added Galileo as an opportunity for those students to explore the co courses that we offer on the campus of George Washington High School in January. We also um impact students with success speaking opportunities from community partners and community agencies. We do field trips with industry and higher education partners.
And we also have course registration fairs which I think is one going on this week at George Washington High School or in the upcoming weeks for students to at the um high school to see what courses we have available. It's one thing, [clears throat] excuse me, it's one thing to see those classes or see the CTE building, but it's another thing for you to walk in to see what courses are available there. And we also have a video. I'm sorry, I'm dealing with a cold this evening, so I do apologize. Innovate Academy is a specialized STEM program for middle school students that combines traditional education with hands on learning in science, [music] technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students spend part of their day at their base school [music] and part at the innovate campus where they
explore four key areas go engineering exploration [music] aviation sciences and cyber security. Through these courses students engage in realworld projects, develop problem solving skills and critical thinking skills and gain early exposure to high demand STEM careers. Innovate Academy helps students build the knowledge and confidence needed [music] to succeed in an increasingly technologydriven world. Learning at Innovate is very different because it's [music] not just English and science and math. When you're at Innovate, you get to do rocket science. You also get to experiment with tech and you get [music] to know a lot about the 3D printing and other devices. One of my favorite projects was 3D [music] printing. And my 3D print was an S plus JSON. And it's supposed to be like a mountain inside of my room. And the process of making it
was like really difficult because you have to measure a bunch of shapes and sizes and also you have to make correct calculations so then you can be able [music] to finally 3D print it. What made me want to join innovate is because I love the technology here because of my future career which is epidemiology. [music] Epidemiology involves studying diseases and knowing what causes them and perhaps maybe finding a cure. >> We allow the students to experience a multitude of different topics. Most of our topics are existing in local industries currently. So the the materials and the experiences that the students get are locally based career opportunities. So if it's running from myself in robotic systems to Mr. Rumley in engineering, Mr. in goateech and Miss Garcia in aviation. They cannot receive this type of education
anywhere else in the system and as far as I know in the region. So everything that we offer is intended to give them experience in a lot of different areas that perhaps can lead them to make some career decisions in the future that will keep them local. >> Thank you. Well, I hope you guys have enjoyed a glimpse of what happens in the innovate program. Thank you. Do you have any questions, >> Miss Walker? >> Yes. First of all, thank you for all that you do for our CTE department. The only question I had um in regards to the innovate and the motivate. Is there a maximum number of students? >> That's a good question. A lot of the CTE CTE courses are capped if they're OSHA regulated. The great thing is those aren't ultra
regulated courses, so they're not cap. Generally, we provide a maximum of 20 25 students. So, it's based on the available equipment. So, you really don't want to have at least 30 kids in there. And we have all those laser and 3D printing because everyone would be have the opportunity to participate if we overcrowd the space. >> Thank you. >> Any others? Miss McCl, >> I will say um Dr. I enjoyed the presentation. Um, being on the workforce side, working regionally. I will tell you, talking about what Danville Public Schools is now doing in the CTE has helped us secure some businesses. Um, and so I'm excited about sharing some of these things and hopefully I can get some of this video so when we marketing Danville that um, companies will see we are taking those
next steps for our future. >> Thank you. I really appreciate it. And as part of the workforce, that was Dr. Harrison's vision strategically is that we plan to produce students that could go directly into the workforce if post-secary education and higher education wasn't in their span or their scope. So, we're excited that we're able to contribute to what our community needs. >> Absolutely. Let's give them another round. [applause] >> Thank you. Next, we'll move to item 5.2, micro credential recognition. And at this time, I'll turn it over to Dr. Babalola. >> Great evening everyone. Chairman Graves, Miss Aid and board members. I am here to provide a report on our micro credentials updates and also to recognize some teachers who have went above and beyond um our minimum requirement for our reports. So our micro
credential is aligned to goal area number three which is staff growth and learning specifically where we provide opportunities for our staff to have continued learning and professional growth and that is through our micro credentials as one opportunity for that. Just to recap what is micro credentials and why do we offer it? It is personalized professional learning that drives impact for our teachers. It is short targeted job embedded certifications that validate specific instructional skills that our teachers have voice and choice in. They get to decide which trainings they want to um take so that they can improve and provide more opportunities in their toolbox. And why does it matter? It helps build our teacher expertise. It also honors educator voice and choice like I said earlier and it also connects directly to student success. And another
key benefit of it that they can do it anytime anywhere. It is 100% asynchronous. So they can do it at the beach, they can do it at home, they can do it during their planning, they can do it whenever they want to do it. They get to earn badges along the way. And then they also receive reertification points so that they can use that towards their um teaching certificate renewal and then they can apply the strategies immediately in every classroom. We also send out shoutouts every Friday through email to all the teachers to let them know who has earned the badges, who was first, and then how many have earned them thus far. Oops. So our teachers can um log into Ed Webb. That's our platform that we use. It's Danville Ed Webb and that's
a screenshot of what it looks like. So they can go in there. The minimum commitment is 15 hours. So all teachers have to complete is 15 hours by February 26, 2026. Um within there we have strategies, there's HQIM aligned courses, classroom management, there's a plethora there courses on um artificial intelligence, managing students with disabilities. It's all types of it's hundreds and thousands of courses. Um so we have a kind of competition with our schools and our teachers. In fact, today one teacher is here. She said why did a certain laugh [laughter] she she said stop it. She don't want me to say I wasn't going to say but she identified herself. Why did that teacher have a blue badge in at web a blue ribbon? I said oh because he was first. She said where
does he have the most? because I have over a hundred hours in Ed Webb. That's what she asked me today. I said, "Okay, >> she want a ribbon. She want a blue ribbon in Ed Web." So, it's healthy competition among the teachers and it's exciting to see them excited to do that. But 15 hours is the minimum. They get a professional learning badge that they can put on their email. Um 30 hours is above so they get a mastery badge, 45 hours is specialist badge, and then 60 hours is an expert badge. But the minimum for all teachers is 15 hours. But our teachers have gone way above that, many of them. So this is just the update. As of November 7th, we have 6,721 hours completed by our teachers across the division. And if
you look at this um image, you can see how many hours are completed by every school. And it doesn't have to be completed until February 26, but currently GW High School has the most hours with 1500 hours. Yes. [applause] And they also have the most teachers who have completed the minimum requirement. They have the most teachers. The second place right now is Westwood. They have 633 hours. And then Park Avenue, which is a smaller school, they're coming for it. They have 623 hours. So we have about 940 hours that is not assigned to a school because the teachers registered with their personal email and versus the school. But once they let us know they have finished we would assign them to their actual course actual school. So currently we have 15 um 137 teachers who
have completed the professional level which they have the badge which is the minimum. We have 16 teachers who went for 30 hours. We have one teacher currently with 45 hours and we have 24 teachers who have completed 60 hours of training. Isn't that amazing? >> Awesome. And we still have to February. So tonight I have two teachers who are going to share a quick um overview about how the micro credential has impacted their learning and their work. We have Miss Brandon from Woodbury. Come on up. [applause] >> And we have Miss Naren from GW. Come on up. Also, they're [applause] going to give you a quick brief overview of what they how the work has impacted them. So, with com and I apologize in advance, my voice is going to be cracky, okay? But I
still showed up. >> So, thank you for having me. So, with doing my um ed web credentials for my school, it was very interesting because at first I was like, how are we going to get this done? And I just started with one video one day during planning. I watched the video. I answered three questions and then I finished. I was like, "Oh, that was pretty easy." So then when teachers started talking about it and having conversations in all the common places, I would just stop and say, "Hey, it's actually not as bad as you think." I said, "And I actually learned something in my video that I'm going to show you tomorrow in our PLC." I think talking about it and making it more common with our teachers really helped set the tone for
the teachers that have completed it at Woodbury. Once I went in and I noticed that I finished all 15 hours and I was like my name didn't end up on the list, but I won't go to ask nobody cuz I was like I don't want to I don't want to ask you and I did something that wasn't right. I was so appreciative that Kim reached out to me and emailed me and said, "Miss Brandon, you have completed all your videos and you answered all your questions. However, you have not created a PL plan that says how you want to use your micro credentials now that you have it in your room." And I said, "Oh, that's kind of smart." So, I went in there and looked at the PL plan and it was goal setting,
which is something that we're used to doing. So setting the goals, the first one that I did was around branching minds actually because it was a new platform for me for MTSS and I also created all of my reading plans in there. So I went and did the PL plan and I set the goal to align to my smart goal of what I had already done at my school so that it could go hand in hand. What I noticed that's been most impactful for me is being able to implement each of the strategies that I've learned in any grade level from K through five because I do service all of K through five for reading plans. And what I love about it, like she said, I can do it from anywhere. I did it at
the gym. I did it at home. Um I did it sometimes during my planning when I had it or I would do it just while I was traveling. I could listen to the podcast. It would play. And I like the skills and the um relatability from other educators because educators just like me, some that were starting out, some that had implemented this in districts that were similar to ours. So it wasn't like they had done something that we could not do. So I really enjoyed that component of it. So thank you again for providing that to us. Um and I'm kind of competitive, too. So after seeing these numbers, we got to go up. Okay. Thank you. >> Good evening everybody. Um as she said it's a once everybody you started knowing about it it
was comparative we were like she has okay she has 45 hours I want 45 hours but it that was not the only thing when we started talking about it it's like u it's really impactful what we learn in there we can actually use it real time in the classrooms uh for example I'm a math teacher and I have completed over 60 uh hours on this one and these include not only sessions on mathematics But it include ELA, science um and u classroom management, one languages, everything. So I like to do crosscurriculum in my classrooms and it helps me learn about other uh courses. So I can when we talk about solving educa uh solving equations in the math classroom u I can relate it to how it will help student to solve a balancing equation
in chemistry classroom or how it will help them use those literal equation in um physics. So that was impactful. Microcondio also helped me um gain a deeper understanding of high quality instructional material. Uh it's what to look for, how to plan a lesson and how to provide meaningful support to all learners. It helped me develop a system that not only allows me to analyze and track student data but also uh help me empower students so that they can track their data in MTSS. The courses have also helped me design lessons that challenge advanced learners while providing tiered intervention for students who needs additional support. As a result, I have noticed significant improvement in student engagement, behavior, and overall academic performance. The microcredential format as she said has been another key benefit. The the way it's
formatted, it was very beneficial. Each mod module is focused, flexible and practical, allowing teacher to learn at their own pace and immediately apply what they learn in the classroom. It makes professional learning accessible, relevant and truly impactful. Um, overall at Webnet and the microcredential has been an invaluable tool in enhancing my instructional practice and supporting student success. I am grateful to our district for investing in this high quality professional learning opportunity. Thank you. >> Next, we're going to recognize um teachers who have earned 60 hours, 45 hours, or came to speak today. So, if you stand up, everyone. Yep. >> We have Miss B, Miss Hart. >> [applause] [laughter] >> Miss [applause] >> Miss Kid [applause] Miss who has $100. >> [applause] [laughter] >> Mr. Mr. McNair, [applause] Miss Norine, [applause] Miss Ritman, Miss Ray
and Miss Brandon. [applause] So, congratulations for getting going above and beyond. We really appreciate everything that you have done and we're going to take a picture with the board. [laughter] Can we Give our educators another round of applause. >> [applause] >> Next, we'll move to item 6.1, public notice, December 2025. Thursday, December 11th, 2025, 5:30 p.m. regular meeting followed by a work session. Tuesday, December the 16th, 2025, 5:30m student achievement committee meeting both at the uh new school boardroom at 228 Cleveland Street. That sounds exciting. [applause] >> Next, we'll move to item 7.1, personnel recommendations. At this time, I'll turn it over to Miss Mimberly. Good evening, Chairman Graves, Vice Chair A, members of the school board, and Dr. Harrison. I've presented the the personnel recommendations for your review, consideration, and approval. I'm happy to
answer any questions you may have. >> Any questions? Any questions? Any questions? This is an action item. >> I'd like to pull and close item number 22 23, please. 22 23. >> Any others? Any others? >> This is an action item. >> Mr. Chair, I move that we approve all the presented personal recommendations minus 22 and 23. >> Second. >> Motion made by Dr. Williams, second by Miss A. Any discussion on the motion? Any discussion on the motion? Hearing none, madam clerk, please call roll. >> Yes. Yes. >> Yes. >> Thank you. Next, we'll move to item 8.1, board request for information for future agenda items, Miss Walker. >> Something that we can get in regards to some data that can reg teacher certification like um and then um also whether it be December or
January but just like a um a reporting just on like a update with our student achievement and then lastly um a disciplinary report for the district and school board school board um school bus reporting of disciplinary thank you >> any others I'll call about the teacher certification. >> Um I think earlier part of the year I guess it we first you all gave information in regards to teachers that were um I guess certified and then I was just wondering update on that. >> Thank you. >> Any others? Any others? >> Mr. If I could add to what do uh Miss Walker was asking for is excuse me the program that we have available for teachers that's that's working towards getting that credential. >> Yes ma'am. If we can get an update on that that would
be great. >> Thank you. Next we move to item 9.1 city attorney comments. I don't >> superintend >> just one just go Eagles. Hope you come out tomorrow night. Uh just support. Last Friday was a boy that was a a great a great game. So I know that um um good good things are happening for our Eagles if you come out and support. >> Thank you. >> Please call roll. >> Yes, just a few things. Uh first, welcome Miss Mclofflin. um looking forward to collaborating and working with you. Uh thank you Mr. Terry for the work that you laid, the foundation that you laid. Um I'm sure that we'll be collaborating a lot more in the future. Um we failed to recognize but Miss Brandon was also our teacher of the year for the district.
So um want to give her her kudos for that. >> Uh Dr. Stone, thank you again for your presentation on the CTE. Um echoing a lot of what Miss Mclofflin said, uh I see the direct impact of what our CTE programs are doing for our community. So I praise your efforts for that. Um, a big kudos to our teachers, our staffs, our educators u your micro credentiing. I fully understand that that can be a headache. So, thank you for your sacrifice and what you're doing to continuously work uh to improve your craft. Um, and finally, a big shout out to our teachers and our staff that are um drafting our strategic plan for this year. Um, I have the chance to take part in a couple of the sessions and I'll be honest, Dr. Harrison,
Miss McGra had me sweating. So, [laughter] hard work is going into that and I'm excited to see what comes from that. Yes. Good evening again and what Dr. Williams said. Welcome to the board. I have a hard time. I'm so used to calling Trina but Mr. Mclofflin. Um I'm looking forward to working with you. Um to Mr. Terry, thank you for your hard work on the board, your expertise and leadership. Um they were very appreciative. Um and just the last thing um we won't be back before Thanksgiving. So, I just want to tell everybody happy Thanksgiving, but also um as we celebrate Thanksgiving, [snorts] be mindful, maybe go volunteer for those that may not have what, um some may have. It's a lot of community dinners that are going on. So, um just try to
be nice, just to be nice. >> Oh, wow. Okay. Um I probably have a lot. [laughter] Let me start again of course by welcoming Miss Trina Mclofflin to the school board. Um thanking Mr. Gary Terry for his service as well as on the school board. Um also what he's doing with the Boys and Girls Club with the teen center that he's building. Um I've seen a lot of growth. I've seen a lot of momentum there. So I want to thank you for what you're doing there. Um a couple of announcements that I will do. Um I and I'm only going to say about what I know about currently. Um, I know that Arnet Hills has an angel tree project that they are doing. Um, where they're asking for sponsors, they're asking for donors to help
with their angel tree project. Um, the Salvation Army, they also have an angel tree project, not just for our youth, but also for adults. Um, they're asking for assistance with their Thanksgiving um, project that they are having on Thanksgiving Day. Um, a lot of churches, they are asking for assistance with their Thanksgiving projects as well. Um, congratulations to our GW Eagles football team for, of course, being the Pedmont District Champions. I want to give them kudos. They also have a game on tomorrow night. Um, Danville Police Department, they have a talent show that is featuring a lot of our youth from DPS as well as talent um, as well as as well as adults. And that is happening on Saturday the 15th at 1:00. Um, of course 2 o'clock, am I right? Okay. Sylvia Brooks
is here. It's 2 o'clock. Okay. For Saturday, um to toot my sister's horn, I will do that. She is having her season 10 Danville Fashion Week at Caesars, Virginia on Saturday. Um we have a youth fashion show that is happening on Sunday at the DEAC building that I know houses at least over about 50 of DPS students as well as county students and North Carolina. So, I want to give that shout out as well. I'm of course excited about what we're doing. Dr. Stone, you're doing an amazing amazing job. Um, I've seen what you're doing in house with GW. I've seen the moves and how you're shaking outside of DPS and you are just amazing person at all. Thank you, >> Mr. P. >> So, I want to uh go in a different direction with
my thoughts on tonight. Um, congratulations Miss Trina Mclofflin for uh being a part of the board. Uh, Mr. Terry, it's been a pleasure working with you and we look forward to working with you uh in the near future. Um, we have had a a a great year and I want us to since Thanksgiving is coming up, I want us to look on the word reflect. Reflect. And I want to leave this right here. Sometimes you have to look back in order to understand the things that lie ahead. So sometime we have to look back at where we come from to understand where we at and where our future is. And I'm thankful for being a part of this this school district. I'm thankful for being a part of this board working along with you all.
It's been uh a interesting ride and we've we've grown together. We had some ups and downs, but I'm thankful uh to be a part of this outstanding board and to our superintendent. Can't say enough about you. Uh we've had a lot of conversations and when she say now, Mr. Payne, [laughter] I know then I didn't I didn't stepped over a little bit too much. Um but uh thank you uh for outstanding work in this district and for your leadership for all these uh great things that we have in our school district and to our chair. Uh the people who may not understand the uh work and dedication that goes behind leading but leading is something that is is maturity goes with leadership. It goes with a title. Having a title without maturity just destroys a
title. And that's what I have learned over the years. So I thank you for your leadership and your guidance and I pray that we continue to move forward. I always say at the end the best is yet to come. So I'm looking forward to 2026 and I I'm excited what lies ahead for DPS. Thank you. >> Thank you. Um to the citizens who showed out and put me in this seat, I am very grateful to all the volunteers. um staff members who supported me. I am grateful as well. I hope that as we go on this journey, you hold me accountable um as I do this work, Mr. Terry, on this process. It has been an amazing opportunity to get to know you um what you bring to the table. And because you put it
out there, I will be tapping on your door um if I have any questions or if I can um use a resource that you may have. I am excited about being home. um DPS, I couldn't get rid of you. You're in my blood. So, I'm excited about being here and working alongside of each of you um to make sure that we keep our students first, support our staff, our families, and our community. Now, I do have a couple of things um in the community that I would like to uh discuss. Um Belleview Baptist Church, Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, um Shako and High Street are having a feast it forward um Thanksgiving event from November 1st to the 21st. If you know any families that are in need, um please get their names here at
DPS. It is um Pam Saunders. She is the uh contact for Belleview. Um anyone the the the um information is on the website and also each church's Facebook page. If you'd like to donate um it's you're more than welcome to do so. And if you would like to volunteer, let us know. Um the institute is currently in their wreaths of joy um campaign which benefits the United Way. And so come out to uh the institute, grab some lunch and bid on some of the lovely wreaths that have been donated by some of our departments, but also some um amazing artisans from um this um Dan the city of Danville. Um we've only have uh 77 seniors at Galileo, but over 50 have actually already applied to
college and start planning for their future. >> [applause] >> Um, I actually have one classmate that applied to over 30 colleges alone and which is amazing cuz I've only applied to three, but [laughter] but um I'm just super proud of all of them and we're going to keep working hard. Thank you. >> Um yes, good evening. Um, just to echo the sentiments, um, welcome aboard again, Miss Mclofflin. I want to call you trainers, Miss Mclofflin. Um, we've worked together in a different space before, so I I am sure that you're going to bring all the energy and all the expertise that you have. So, I'm looking forward to working alongside you. Also want to thank Mr. Terry um for imparting his knowledge and wisdom um during his tenure on the board with us. It has
been a pleasure. So, um I too will stay connected. I'm very sure. Um moving forward. Um and just so much is going on. Um so many things to be thankful for. So much good is happening um not just in our city but definitely right here at DPS. So I too am thankful and grateful to be a part of these processes. Again, thank you to Dr. [snorts] Stone, excuse me, for your presentation this evening. Um, and all of the work that you're doing with our CTE department and um, how you're growing those pathways and getting the information out to our families of all the opportunities um, that lie here at DPS. And just to um one comment I want to make about the microcredentiing is um I think the biggest takeaway is that teachers are talking
about their learning and so there are now being models to the students that learning happens every day no matter your age no matter where you are um always want to be a lifong learner. So, um that really put a smile on my face and my heart because I I just think that's wonderful um options for our students to see that and options opportunities for our teachers um to take advantage of. So, that positive competition, I love it. Thank you Dr. Babalola for your presentation on that as well. Um, and happy Thanksgiving because I will not see you all again before then. So, happy Thanksgiving to everyone. >> I don't know what's left to say. This is an impressive place. Let me tell you, um, first of all, uh, Mr. Terry, thank you. Simply thank you.

Welcome home. I know what you're capable of doing and I know what you will do. So, no worries at all. We're going to keep moving this train forward and we're excited about doing so. But I have to shout out our student board reps tonight. Y'all stand up for a second. Look at them. They look good. Let's give them a round of applause. [applause] And as we talk about how impressive this place is, this is our future right here. So, we have to stand behind them 10 toes down and push them as much as possible. Y'all can be seated. Thank you for your
leadership in your school buildings. Thank you for all that you do to support Damo Public Schools. To Dr. Stone, thank you for your leadership. I cannot just express how exciting it is for our students with the opportunities that you guys are providing each and every day. and they continue to grow and we're a model for other districts in in the Commonwealth of Virginia. So, that's extremely exciting and impressive and we have some amazing instructors all over the district, but we have some amazing instructors right here in the CTE program. So, thank you for your leadership. Um, Miss Miss Brandon was here. I I I have to give her a shout out. She's an impressive instructor as well and her leadership. I'm sure Dr. Harrison, she'll be a school administrator somewhere here soon. So, thank you
for that. And um and lastly to the micro credentiing. That was impressive to see how many instructors were shown on the screen. And I'm sure um once the compet competition continues to grow, we will see more of those instructors. And lastly, I will say go Eagles. Uh they will win tomorrow night. Uh Coach Anderson has the game plan ready to go. So, we're excited to support them as they continue to fight throughout the rest of the season to get to hopefully a state championship this season. And lastly, happy Thanksgiving to everybody. Enjoy your family, but remember that you have to return back here to DPS and thank you. Any further business?
