Westmont Junior High School volunteer soccer coach. EMTT Trinard, social worker. Resignations, appointment of DAOES representative, and approval of the demand response contract with Constellation Energy, which we uh discussed at the last board meeting. >> So moved. >> Second. Roll call. >> Mr. Orman. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Conover. Yes, >> Miss Mill. >> Yes, >> Dr. Hoover. >> Yes, Mr. Marin. >> Yes, >> Miss Franklin. >> Yes. >> Motion passes. Moving into information and discussion. Um, we've got a new board meeting platform. So, board docs. Um, we discussed this Oh, golly, >> six months ago maybe. Um, diligent purchased or merged or whatever with board docs and um, board docs the platform is going away and being transitioned to the diligent platform. We had an option to stick with diligent or um explore another program which
we did. We got um costs from another program. The board went over it. Um ultimately while the diligent cost is going up, it was significantly less than switching to a new platform. And also in switching to a new platform, we were going to have to house and find a way to house all of our history, our historical board docs, which was an additional cost of time and website and d all of those things. So the board chose to go with to stick with diligent and we've got that upcoming transition coming here real quickly. So Shannon, can you talk about the timeline a little bit? So we will be starting on diligent. May 1st is our rollover date. So board docs will no longer be really available to the public, but all the meetings will now
be found in Diligent. Um they're currently transitioning them over. As of right now, they only have through August of last year. Um once we officially close out board docs at the end of this month, they will migrate the rest of the meetings over. So there will be a little bit of a transition period for people who are still trying to access the last 6 months of meetings. Um we will be making a video for the community to watch to show them a little bit of how to access or use the new system. Um there are a lot of great features for people who don't have children in the district. you can now subscribe to get updates of, you know, where the alerts that meetings coming up, including committee meetings, committee meeting agendas will be housed
on there. Um, and I think that's it. So, they have uploaded our meetings back to August, essentially the beginning of this school year right now. M >> and so when we when you mentioned the transition period when we go live those meetings are there right now it's that anything earlier than August that >> no it's anything from August of 2025 through now through April 28th board meeting will not be immediately available >> it's available now >> it's available through board docs >> through board doc okay thank you >> yes those are still available they will be transitioned over just got to give them they don't want to they'd have to shut down the system for a little bit. So once we get that clearance and we go to May 1st, they'll bring the rest of
them over from August to now. >> And board ducks is still going to be active, but it's going to be read only or >> so there'll be it'll I don't understand that part. I'll be honest, I'm not on the tech side. It they keep saying it'll be read only. We'll have access to it, but we really won't need to have access to it. >> But what about the public wanting to look at the last 6 months? >> Those will be migrated over quickly. It just might be a little bit of like a few week transition time, but those will become available within a couple weeks after we go to May 1st. It might be sooner than that. It's just they got to shut down the system completely. We have to close out the April 28th
board meeting and then they'll start that period. So that's why we chose May 1st cuz it gives us 3 weeks to the next board meeting. Um so it should be my understanding is it should be very quick. It's just going to be there might be a little bit of lag time before people can get them. Um, we still have um all the meeting minutes. If someone really wanted an agenda from those six months, they can reach out to me. We have them all on file. I I could send it to them pretty much immediately. If they want minutes, those will still be available in um on our website >> where they're posted currently. Yes. Where they're posted currently. So, it just be any documents that are associated. It would just be a little bit of
transition time >> and all of the historical stuff is all going to be loaded back up in there, right? >> Yes. And is there going to be a lag for that stuff? >> No, I can go in now and pull up old meetings from 2020 and I can see the documents that were attached. >> Okay. >> So, it's it's this schooly year. >> Yes, it's a school year. We just got to finish the migration once we go live. >> Yeah. And I mean, the benefits of this are like we got a little sneak peek and it looks really great, but it looks like it will help us consolidate. >> Yes. And I think it'll be great for everyone in the community because they can find everything in one spot essentially moving forward instead of going
between board docs and the website. Everything will be on this portal. Yeah. >> Yeah. Any questions? >> No. Super exciting. >> Well, I just want to thank you for your work on this. I know it has >> I know it has been an undertaking and you undertake quite a lot for us and >> you're welcome. It's exciting. >> This is huge. It's exciting and and we appreciate the work you've done on it. So, thank you. >> Good. >> Okay. Move into the athletic committee. Who wants to cover that one? >> I can talk it. >> Go for it. >> So, our first meeting is going to be May 13th. Uh it's going to be at 6 p.m. at Westmont High School. So, if you have any interest, please, please, please. Uh the purpose of the
meeting is essentially to collaborate, work together, talk about our uh our athletics with the coaches, administrators, our athletic directors. It's about strengthening the programs and also looking at recommendations how we can work together almost like a giant thoughts partner. So it's kind of exciting to look at. Looking forward to it. >> Awesome. Thank you guys for putting that together. questions, comments, anything from the board? No. Okay. PR committee recap. >> Do you want me to get that? >> Yeah, that'd be great. Come on up. >> Yeah. >> Well, we're sharing the love tonight. >> Quick PR committee recap. Um, the meeting started with some social media analytics. So the facts and figures of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube website views. Um the data was taken from August through now and we've had a really large increase in
our in our online presence which is pretty exciting. Um website updates. So, you already talked about the one which is awesome, the um board school board information, but then on our um 2011 website, the our team, Edith and Anna are working really hard to make our website a little bit more user friendly. Um they started with the registration page on the website and it looks really nice and they've been working really hard on that. Um and then we ended the meeting talking about ways to engage the community. It turns out we're really great with engaging our um families who have students who are in the district, but we talked about different ways to engage families or um just people in our community who don't necessarily have students in the district. Um we talked about mailers,
the upcoming car shows, um magazines, postcards, regular postcards, um just short and sweet connections that we can make over time. And then the meeting we ended with the upcoming town halls that we're going to have, the facility capital planning town halls. Um, April 28th at 5:30 in person at the Westmont Village Hall, April 29th at 6:30 on Zoom. Um, and then more information to come on that just with um, we are expecting hopefully a large group of people. So, we we need to process through what that is going to look like. and then another in-person meeting on May 19th at 5:30. And we're going to be able to post uh the presentation from this evening. >> It's in board docs right now. And one of the really cool things about the new diligent platform is
that our committee meeting stuff will be in there the same way that our board meeting stuff is in there. So like all of this the last you know x number of facilities and finance meetings where we were like can we post it and where are we going to post it? Where's it? D. It's all going to be on diligent in one spot. Beautiful. Awesome. >> Thank you. >> Okay, moving into our action items. Approval of the student handbook. So, if you guys recall, we uh Adam came and presented this to us and we've talked through all of the uh twice. So, now we've got the approval. The chair will entertain a motion to approve the CUSD 2011 2022 2027 student handbook as presented. >> So, moved. >> Second. >> Roll call. >> Miss Conover. >>
Yes. Miss Mill, >> yes. >> Dr. Hoover, >> yes. >> Mr. Marin, >> yes. >> Miss Franklin, >> yes. >> Miss Orman, >> yes. >> Motion passes. Um, the next three action items are all kind of standard items, but we only do them once a year. And so I do want to kind of reiterate for everybody that these three kind of um recommendations for staffing are tied to year-end procedures, standard year-end procedures that we do every year. We do it every um it's part of the budget process. It's part of the staffing process. Um it's carried out in coordination with our administration. Um and releases are part of our standard yearly review process. It's not a reflection on anybody's individual value. Um and decisions are made by the administration and follow all the legal guidelines.
This is one of our governance pieces that we that we um have and uh impacted staff will be notified directly with next steps and resources. So just to reiterate because it's something that we only do once a year um doesn't come up very often. So um approval of continued employment of non-tenured teachers and tenure recommendations. The chair will entertain a motion to approve the continued employment of non-tenured teachers and tenure recommendations as presented. >> So moved. Second >> roll call. >> Miss Mill, >> yes. >> Dr. Hoover, >> yes. >> Mr. Marin, >> yes. >> Miss Franklin, >> yes. >> Miss Torman, >> yes. >> Miss Conover, >> yes. Motion passes. Um, dismissal of probationary teachers for other than RIFF. The chair will entertain a motion to adopt the resolution authorizing dismissal of second-year probationary
teacher Sarah Cunningham for reasons other than reduction in force as presented. >> So move. >> Second. Roll call. >> Dr. Hoover, >> yes. >> Mr. Marin, >> yes. >> Miss Franklin, >> yes. >> Miss Torman, >> yes. >> Miss Conover, >> yes. >> Miss Mill, >> yes. >> Motion passes. Uh, approval of resolution for termination of an employee. The chair will entertain a motion uh to approve the resolution to dismiss the following support staff employee for reasons other than riff. Jacqueline Brining. >> So moved. >> Second. Roll call. >> Mr. Marin, >> yes. >> Miss Franklin, >> yes. >> Mr. Orman, >> yes. M. Conover. >> Yes. >> Miss Mill. >> Yes. >> Dr. Hoover. >> Yes. >> Motion passes. Okay. Superintendence report. I think Ron's going to take it for us tonight. >> Sure.
>> Yeah. No. So, uh, just so everybody knows, uh, I think the biggest thing for us to discuss right now, registration has, uh, been available for kindergarten, but it's opening up for the entire district starting tomorrow. So, it's almost like Christmas Eve, uh, except it's a lot more exciting. Uh, just so you know. Uh, so, uh, we'll have it open between April 15th and August 1st, even though we'll have school starting August 19th, but we want to make sure that we have the sectioning available and ready to go. There will be an online boundary map if you have questions. Uh, we also partner with a third party by the name of Clear. We've done that the last couple years to run checks to ensure that taxpayers are having their children come here. So if there
are any questions, please let us know. Uh again, it is an exciting time for us to be prepared for the next school year. So for any questions, please reach out. >> Anything on registration? I know this is a little earlier than we normally open it up, which hopefully is great. I mean, hey, the earlier the better, right? So, don't forget to register your kits for next year. Everybody's invited. Um, board reports, >> uh, fine arts night. I went and it was a nice evening. Uh, ve very talented students, uh, band and choir and, uh, art students. Um, it was a very nice night. Um, second, I want to give a shout out to Mr. Dunn and Mr. Landrith, Westbound, uh, geography club. They took they led a group of students to Lucer in Switzerland then
to uh Venice, Florence and then Rome. Uh I heard nothing but raves about the trip. So uh you know it's a good time. I want to thank them. You know we appreciative of of teachers doing that extra and a lot of our teachers do do that extra. So thanks to those guys. >> I was jealous. That looked very fun. >> Legit. Legit. Yeah. really traveling Westmont High School students traveling around the world all over. It's so cool. What a great opportunity for our students. Yeah. And thank you to the teachers. Any other board reports? Okie dokie. Do we have any public comment? Seeing none, I will move on to our future meetings and events. The Westmont Junior High School Musical is coming up. What is it? Do we know what it is? Matilda. >> Matilda.
Matilda. Yes. Matilda. I should. Yes, I know that. Um, April 17th, 7:30 p.m. April 18th, 2 p.m. for that matinea. Come cheer our kiddos on. Um, we have our first COD uh 2011 town hall, April 28th, 5:30 p.m. here at Village Hall. And then our next regular meeting of the board of education is April 28th, also immediately following that town hall at Village Hall. Um, we have no reason to go to close session, so we're going to skip that. Um, any other communications? I don't see any. Um, so the chair will entertain a motion to adjourn the April 14th, 2026 regular meeting of the board of education. >> So moved. >> Second. All in favor? I >> opposed. Motion passes. 730. What is that? Is that a record?
