Well, last week I had the opportunity to attend the end-of-year leadership summit with our curriculum-based administrators. And it was just

really nice to be able to one, get to know them more, but two, just to really learn how much of the work is going on. And to really just I was actually telling Minerva, I was like, "Sometimes I feel like the decisions we make up here don't even really matter." But like to see how much it steers all of the work that they're doing was just really amazing cuz it one, made me say, "Hey, there is a reason why we're doing what we're doing." But it also reminded me of how important it is that we're cognizant of making sure we empower our administrators when we make those decisions so that they can do their job. So, that's just my quick little tidbit. And then I guess we Have we had a board meeting since graduation?

>> I was just >> Graduation went great. That was amazing. One of the largest classes in history. So, great work at the high school to Dr. Larson and her team. I'm totally in favor of the individual who is going to get the job. I'm just not in favor of the position, so my uh intent is to abstain from this. >> All righty. This is a trip, I believe it's the second year that they've gone to this. Um Does anyone have any questions? >> Overnight. >> Just a quick question on the fiscal impact. It says um the athletes will be paying the $75. The total to attend is 120. Where is that extra coming from? >> Where

does it >> It comes from their fundraising or I help through my my activity account. Uh again, uh since I've been here, the the boy's soccer team has went to this uh competition in Bettendorf. They have a beautiful uh turf

complex out there. Uh and they're going to go out there again and most of it is uh some of it's paid by the students and through fundraising efforts. >> All right. Do I have a motion? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Jackie, roll call. >> Steve Byers? >> Yes. >> Chris Boyce? >> Yes. >> Mike Sheridan? >> Yes. >> Kristen Bailey? >> Yes. >> Nick Gatlin? >> Yes. >> Item C, YMCA Before and After School Program, which I believe will be presented to us by Sarah Montgomery. And yeah. >> They're here from Royal Supporter. They I questions and what not. I said that I would introduce the same plan as you. Fighting off a sneeze, excuse me. >> [snorts] >> As you know, we have a >> [clears throat] >> already a relationship with the

YMCA [cough] servicing Cortland and Malta. So, we've met several times looked to expand the program, not just have it at Cortland and Malta, but also at Mitchell. There's a need with the data of the students there that would benefit from the additional before and after school and same thing with Tyler. But, Tyler would be a satellite for Tyler founders and Lincoln. Other than that, the terms of the agreement have not changed. Do you have any questions? [snorts] >> Um I guess the one question that I will ask um with this YMCA program, you talked about, you know, the data shows we need XYZ. From looking at the data, are we finding that we're getting good I guess, hey, this isn't just a daycare that we're sending them to that's funded by grant opportunities. Like, we're

actually seeing this help move the needle. >> Yes, I think it has been beneficial. You know, we've had a lot of different conversations with the YMCA with Billy because he was leading a lot of this work with the transition. I've helped and taken over quite a bit of that. And, yes, they have changed some of their programming meeting the needs of our students making sure that it's staffed, making sure that things are running smoothly. And, if there have ever been slight challenges, they've been immediately remedied and, you know, it's been a really good partnership. >> Okay, thank you. How many students do we expect to serve with this program? Do we have? >> You have the numbers, Eric. >> Currently, we are currently this past year about 80. >> 80? >> About 80 currently, we

think. >> do my stuff in the middle? >> I'm so sorry. Um Eric Peder with the YMCA. Uh this past year we serviced about 80 a day is what we saw. Um we think Mitchell specifically should see a pretty significant increase and then in the Tyler area because we are the Y is so much farther away, we believe we lost a lot of bussing opportunities there because we had a lot of parents are asking us if we were ever going to get back in the school. So it's a guess at this point, but I I think conservatively we should see at least 20 more students. So I think we should hit 100 uh with I think that's a conservative guess at this point. >> Thank you. All right. Any other questions? Consensus to bring this

back? >> Yes. >> [laughter] >> All righty. Next item is item D, RTM conference request, which I believe RTM is route to market. >> I looked too quick. Um no, that is I wrote it down. Because it was a weird one. Relationships that matter. You couldn't Google that one. I had to go to the vendor and ask, "What exactly is that?" Um it's a great conference though that Dr. Bakker and I would like to attend. You can see the sessions that are listed there. That's just a sprinkling of the sessions. Those are the ones that we pulled out that we would like to attend. The conference is free except for our travel there. So let's hope that airfare doesn't go up too much, but other than that, it will be paid for um through the

through the organization that runs the conference. >> The the airfare portion's coming out of which >> Grant funds. Okay. Should have that in there. I was going to say. >> Oh, sorry. >> That's okay. I always like to ask that question, so. All right. Does anyone have any other questions? Consensus to bring this back? >> Yes. >> Thank you. Item E, press plus release 121. This is information. >> So good evening. As you are well aware that as new um code school code comes up, Press Plus is our uh general um information provider and they write the code up for us that we can add into our policies. We will be adding um the following within um what I'm sorry, what what Press Plus is asking us to add onto our policies. The request is

for you all to review it, have a first read, come back next meeting, answer any questions, and if there aren't any questions, we can go to approving it. Once approved, they will be uh then added into our policy handbook to ensure that we follow them. Uh at any time if there is a Press Plus that needs to be adjusted, then we can adjust that as needed or if we already have a policy, it could be updated. Okay? >> Any questions? Do we have a consensus to bring this back? >> Yes. >> Item F is info and action, Board of Education meeting schedule for 2026-2027. The changes that we are amending July to only have one meeting because the first meeting in July would come right after the 4th of July weekend and I kind of

figured none of us want to show up right after 4th of July for a board meeting. So, I decided that we're going to put that forth to the board. So, does anyone have any questions about that? All right, then. Do I have a motion? >> I don't know any other dates that >> Oh, I don't know, Jackie. Are there other dates we switched around or is it just July? >> all still a standard um one in November, December, January. Definitely. >> Okay dokey. So, do we have a motion to approve the revised Board of Education meeting schedule for 2026-2027? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Jackie, roll call. >> Christopher Boyce. >> Yes. >> Mark Sherburne. >> Yes. >> Christine Bailey. >> Yes. >> Nick Atwood. >> Yes. >> Steve Byers. >> Yes. >> All

right. Acting Mr. Underwood. >> Sanchez, the floor is yours. >> Um as our president mentioned, the high school had a wonderful event at the at the Convocation Center over at NIU and graduated a record-breaking number of students and we're very proud of that. Uh in addition to that, we will have some summer graduates and we'll have a summer graduation for them. Dr. Larson started that when she became principal and very excited to see that those children have an opportunity to cross the stage at that time when they completed, usually in July. So, thankful for that opportunity. Um and as we know, we've transitioned youngsters from eighth grade to high school, which is a big step, right? And so, both middle schools had an opportunity to do that transition with them. And of course, our youngsters

from our early childhood centers that are going to start off in kindergarten and with Don't forget that you can apply for the Itty Bitty Bar Academy for our Step Up to Kindergarten uh courses. I think Are there still openings, Ms. Montgomery? >> I'm not sure. >> We're not sure, but call. If you're interested and you got the kids, you know, what better place to have them in and getting them ready for kindergarten. [snorts] Um that's it for me. Have a wonderful summer. >> All right. Is our regular Board of Education adjourned at 7:16 p.m. >> So moved. >> Second. >> [snorts] >> Jackie, roll call. >> Aye. >> Oh, yeah. All those in favor. [laughter] >> Aye. >> All right, so we got it. Aye.
