So, at Willow Brook School, we intentionally create leadership opportunities for our fifth graders along with our fifth grade teachers and also Miss Rich that allow them to contribute meaningfully to our school community. So, here with us tonight, the fifth grade leaders joining us this evening are the PTO partners, our school ambassadors, and our tech teachers. >> So, our PTO partners, there's students who work alongside our PTO to support key events such as our monthly ice cream day book fair and our very popular school store. In this role, students assist with organization, setup, and interacting with our primary students, strengthening our school community, and building leadership responsibility and service skills. Our school ambassadors, those are those that's the job that I work the closest with. Um, they've expanded their leadership this year by creating a peer
nominated Fantastic Friend Award. Um, in addition, they continue to greet students and families on Friday mornings. ahead of flag raising in the morning circle and helped provide an extra set of eyes and hands during supervision. Um, and they've also collaborated with uh with me on a number of behavior initiatives including uh creating and formalizing our our indoor recess rules this year. Um, and then we're working on our presentation to do a um a visit to Miss Shut's kindergarten classroom to recognize them um for just being positive to all. So, our fifth graders working on that recently. Uh they serve as valuable and visible role models and also are an integral part to our flag raising um as an extra supportive hands to support that important weekly tradition. And then lastly, and as we alluded to
to Miss Rich being here, we have our tech teachers who have been invaluable assets. Again, you'll see this theme of leadership of helping our younger students um especially during digital citizenship lessons. So, as our youngest Wildcats are learning to navigate technology, we know that extra hands are essential. Um, our fifth graders have stepped up to help provide that and make those learning experiences that much deeper. Um, and for uh the learning to be that that much more worthwhile. All right. So, together, these leadership experiences build confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of belonging while helping our students see themselves as both leaders both in and beyond school. I want to thank our fifth grade leaders for all of your hard work this school year. That's why you're here tonight and for your leadership you continue
to show. You have been wonderful role models for our young Wildcats. And thank you for the support fifth grade teachers and Miss Rich for all you do for our students. So, thank you so much students. You have been amazing this school year and what you're going to continue to do. So, thank you. and the board and I are more than excited to recognize such amazing leaders as fifth graders because we know that you are going to be leaders all the way through Maple onto high school and beyond. And you are learning such important valuable lessons right here, right now. And so we are honored to rep to give you an award tonight. And I would like to thank the fifth grade teachers and Miss Rich for being here. There'll be a time for pictures. I
did hear that you all necess didn't necessarily want to have to speak per se, but I'll give a shout out to Mrs. Fletcher, Mrs. Newman, Mrs. Kim, and of course, Miss Rich.
