Mr. Bainy, is anyone registered to speak tonight? >> No. >> Superintendent updates. >> Um, have three quick items for you this evening. Um, first off, our district recently received our level three reertification through Indiana Paths to Quality Preschool program. Uh, that designation reflects continued compliance with the rigorous state standards for offering preschool in our state. So, very proud of our staff for continuing that. I'm excited to announce that we will be kicking off here in the next few weeks a stays safe software as part of our Raptor security system. And what this app allows is for anonymous reporting that allows students, staff, parents, anyone in the community who has a fear of a threat um or

any sort of safety issue to be able to report that for investigation without retaliation. We're excited to get that up and running as an additional layer of safety and security for our students, staff, and families. My last item, um the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever and Jack's Toys visited today uh at the Hooser Gym to deliver toys to Nightstown. We'd like to thank them um for continuing to allow us to be part of their longstanding holiday outreach effort. Uh they've been doing this for 16 years and we this is I believe our third time being included. Um so it was even with it being a snow day today. There were some last minute changes of plans. Uh but there were still a whole bunch of kids at the Hooser Gym getting toys today. So um it

was very fun. That completes my reports for the evening. >> Freddy Fever and Boomer were there. Jack's Pacific Toys. Um the owner of Jax is uh best friends with Herb Simon and so they started this years and years ago and it provides uh toys across who's your schools. Any questions for the superintendent? Moving on. All those in favor say I. I. >> Opposed the same. Motion carries 70. Thank you. Old business library appointment. >> We do. We have a candidate, Miss Alice Bogman, a Nightstown residence, uh, who I had the pleasure to speak with on the phone the other day, is interested in the Nightstown library board appointment. Uh, that begins on January 1st. So, I would make the request to the board that she be granted that position.

primary second. >> Motion by Mrs. Van Hoy, second Mrs. to approve Alice Flogman as the school corporation's representative on the library board. Any discussion? Board policy 7510 use of school facilities. >> First reading board policy in your packet. You have what the existing policy and administrative guideline are. 008you. intermediate school guidance. Um, in your packet tonight, you have a contract for our intermediate uh, guidance counselor. The biggest change in the contract is um, as responsibilities have changed for the counselors and scheduling over the years. We found uh, that she really needs more days uh, to be able to work in the summer. to be honest, she has just worked in the summer and past without being paid for it because of the timeline for scheduling classes and student schedules. So, um that's the biggest change in the contract contracts between the school corporation and Denise Gully. >> Correct. on Tuesday, January. >> Yes. So, we have to go back and change that. Thank you for pointing that out. Because it's a retroactive agreement, it will go back to July 1 of 2025, just like we

do with the teachers. So, thank you for catching that. >> That's 204 annual contract, correct? Not annual, but that's what's the board's pleasure. Motion carries 70. Thank you. >> Our bid project, construction project. >> I um am not sure that I ever thought that we would would get to this point with this project. Um this is something that we started working on um almost 15 years ago. Um with the need of pushing to one consolidated campus through the pillars of making sure that student safety was first and foremost in building a project

that would not result in a tax increase for our taxpayers. Um, everybody knows the history and knows that we made an attempt at this for with project 24 only to not be able to meet um those pillars. We could not come up with a design that would allow us to uh maintain a tax neutral project. So, we went right back to the drawing board and started over. Um, tonight's recommendation brings us to that point where we do have a design, we do have bids, we do have a schedule that would allow for us to complete a one campus project in a tax neutral way. Um, tonight I would make the uh request of the board that we approve a that you consider and approve a not to exceed price of $39 million to complete our

project. That is um again tax neutral. We do not think that it will get all the way up to that. That gives a little bit of space. Um, and if this is approved, I'm very excited to start getting videos, information, virtual tours, all that fun stuff out here by the first of the year. >> Mr. President, I'll make the motion to accept up to 39 million or make the allotment of up to 39 million >> not to exceed 39 million. Yes. With great enthusiasm. Mr. President, I'll second that. >> We have a motion by Mrs. Neil, second Mr. Leonard to set a not to exceed bid project constru. Yeah, I just put out construction project not to exceed $39 million. And I'm going to tell you the last 15 years have been brutal. So I

look forward to this moving forward. Any other discussion? >> Hearing none. All those in favor say I. I >> oppose the same. Motion carry 70. Thank you very much. >> This has been a long time. >> Any other business to come before the board? hearing none. Anyone from the public wish to step up to the microphone and ask discuss to the board? I don't want to keep everybody here all night, but I don't want to deter somebody from who wants to speak to speak. So, Melissa, >> you sure, man? >> We're gonna bring that up here just a minute. >> You're right. Thanks to each other. >> Congratulations on the start for the free school. Um, we're very appreciative of the hard work that that puts in. Um, thank thanks to Mr. Johnson for the

generous donation. Um, glad to hear that the stay safe software is coming. Thanks to the pacers and um, the fever and that's toys for their generous donations. Um but big thanks to um all the hard work from Jed and uh Mr. and Stephanie Madison on you know uh their diligent work to get to the point that we are getting used right I'll echo Susie and Melissa on the gifts and appointments and things like that and really just want to say how excited I am about this new project finally getting up off the ground. Um I think it's going to be exciting to see new things built. Seems like it's been so long we've been talking about this years in fact. >> So uh it's good to see it started. It's all I got from I'm

real excited about this project. Been looking at it for years now. I'm glad able to pull the trigger. Just want to say merry Christmas to everybody. 015downhill, sideways, and everything else in between for the last several years. So, tickle to death that we've put ourselves in a position to be able to to go forward on that uh reorganization meeting. Regular meeting date would be January 6th. Does that fit everyone's calendar? Also, >> no, it's just a reorganization. The only thing we'd have a board of finance meeting say that again, the board of finance would be on January. We have to do by law the Aurora reorganization meeting before the 15th, but the board of finance has to meet before January 31st. >> Well, that would be at 7 on the 6. >> It's 7:00 unless the board wants a different time. 7:00's mine. >> You want it earlier? >> 6:00. If not, that's fine. >> We're gonna be 10 minutes, so >>

that's fine. >> Okay, I'm okay. Oh, I do. That's >> I mean, if it helps you out, Melissa, six o'clock 6. >> It doesn't need that evening.
