Would everyone please rise for the pledge of allegiance? >> Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Moment of silence, please. Thank you, >> Miss Hunt. We will turn it over to you for the recognition. Red Horn. So, our red hornet of the month for December, which teachers vote on um was Gracie Dalton and she's a sixth grader here at Madora. Um it's unusual for a sixth grader to get the votes to do it. So that's a good thing. So her teachers have this to say. Mr. Gaye said, "Gracie works hard on every assignment and consistently gives her best effort. She truly craves knowledge and shows a genuine desire to learn and grow."
Mr. Riley Morris wrote, "Gracie is kindhearted and gives her all in class every day. I appreciate the effort she pours into her work. Even when she struggles, she is always respectful and ask for help. If more students approach learning with her mindset, it would be amazing to see. Mr. Senate wrote, "Gracie is a wonderful student with a strong attitude. When I say strong attitude, I mean exactly what you imagine. She's stubborn, strong willed, and as sassy as the day is long." These are traits that simultaneously keep me on my toes as a teacher and keep Gracie growing and learning regardless of any obstacles that gets in her obstacle that gets in her way. In a generation that seems to care about so little, Gracie cares deeply. She cares about the work she does and the
success that it generates. She cares about herself and her future. Sassy or not, that's exactly the right attitude. >> And the lady from the I'm going to take your picture too. >> Hold up your certificate. >> I'll get a picture. I'll get out of the way. >> Congratulations, Gracie. >> Congratulations. You ready to go now? >> Okay. Next item on the agenda is reorgan reorganization of the board of trustees. Uh there were no elections in 2025. So tonight we'll just need to reorganize and fill the following positions. uh president, vice president, and secretary. So, I need a motion to fill those positions. >> Make a motion >> to fill them with >> the same as we have it. >> The same as we currently have it. I >> was reading this here. >> All right.
We have a motion to keep the president Mr. Joe Campbell, Vice President, Mr. Daryl Finger and Secretary, Miss Aiden Reynolds, as we had them last year. All those in favor say I. I >> opposed. Passes 5 Z. While I have your attention, we also need to make several appointments. And I'd like to make a recommendation to appoint the following. Uh legal counsel Bose McKenna Evans, uh treasurer Abby Huber, deputy treasurer Teresa Brewer, ECA treasurer Shelley Hedinger, and uh also the board of finance officers will be remain the same as our officers. So, President, Mr. Joe Campbell and secretary would be Miss Aydah Reynolds. I need a motion to approve that. >> Second. >> Yep. I have a motion in a second. All those in favor say I. >> Opposed. It passes. 5. I will turn
this over to Mr. Campbell. Okay. Next up is the minutes. Any questions on the minutes, additions, or subtractions? If there's no question, I need a motion to accept December 8 minutes of 2025. >> I'll make a motion. >> I'll second. >> Got a motion. I say all in favor say I. Same sign against carry. Next up is claims and payroll. Any questions on the claims? >> Payroll. Not I need a motion to accept. >> I'll make a motion to favor say I. >> I. >> Same thing again. Motion to carry. Next up be Roger on monthly budget. Next report. >> Okay. On our monthly budget uh for ending December 31st of 2025. So our 2025 budget, we had an appropriation education fund of 1,689846 and we spent 1,345134. So we spent 79.60% of our appropriation
in 2025. operations fund. We had an appropriation of 581,290. We spent 558,771. We spent 96.13% of our appropriation. But if you remember, we reduced that appropriation uh during our our 2026 budget. So that that was by plan that we we spent that much. Uh debt service, same thing there. We had a budget of 569,857 and we spent 548,362. We were at 96.23 and we did not spend any of our appropriation out of rainy day for 2025. >> Any questions? If not, we'll move on to drip facility use. Yeah, we have one field trip uh February 9, 2026 that will be the a farmer's breakfast for FFA students at Brownstone Central High School. So that's just information only there. >> Next up, runner personnel items. >> We have one recommendation uh for Michael Seismore, boys varsity
basketball assistant coach. So I need a motion to approve that. I need a motion to approve. Michael Seismore. >> Who second it? >> Second. >> Okay. All in favor say I. >> I. >> Same sign against motion's car. >> That was who you second it. >> You did. I >> Okay. Next up on agenda. Roger. Approval of donation. Yeah, we have one donation. Uh, get to it here. And it was a Christmas donation from uh Kathy O'Donnell of $100. We need you to accept that donation, please. >> Most accept the donation. >> I'll accept. Second. All >> in favor say I. >> I. >> See sign against. Motion carried. Next up, Roger. Approval a new administrative assistant contract for Teresa W. >> Yeah, I'm uh making a recommendation to uh approve a new administrative contract
for 195 days for Terresa Wayman. She does our state reporting. She's currently on a 200 some day contract and would like to move that to 195day contract. >> I need a motion to accept. >> I'll make a motion. >> Got a motion. Got a second. All in favor say I. I. >> Same side against. Motion carried. >> Okay. Annual board of finance meeting. Take care of that. >> Yeah, I can take care of that. Miss you has a second child so I can handle this part of it. >> Okay. >> Uh first thing we're going to do this is our annual board of finance meeting we're going to jump into and uh report of 2025 investments. It says funds deposited in account 87130 from Madora Community School Corporation are invested in an account at a
rate of 0.25%. The total amount of interest earned in the calendar year 2025 was $4,02643. Anyone have a question on that? All right. Uh, next item in the board finance meeting we need to talk about is our investment policy. It's policy number 6144. And uh, you can read through it. It's the same. Nothing has changed from the last well since I've been here 10 years 12 years whatever but um basically school board authorizes the corporation treasurer to make investments of available monies from the funds that we have in school corporation obviously there will be no investments unless we run that past the school board. That's just uh the policy that that we have at the school corporation. Then the final thing is uh each year we have to present information on uh fiscal indicators as
provided by the distress unit appeals board. And uh as I look through here, you guys can look that over. You can actually go to to the distress unit boards board web page and look at these in more in depth. One thing I want to point out is our uh fund balance and that's for all funds. Uh fund balance as a percent of expenditures and our fund balance is uh at the time of this report which this reports for 2425 was 68.8 8%. So that is that's that's very good. The other thing I want to point out for the 2026 uh budget rates that we've received through 1782, we have cut uh property taxes by 58.33 cents. So, we reduced our 2026 property tax rate by 58.33 cents, which that's substantial. Any other business you have
for the board? any issues or concerns for any members of the board? >> If not, wait, before we stop, I I don't know that we need to do this, but uh can we approve the uh investment report that was in your folder that I presented from the treasur just to make sure? >> Yeah, >> I had it where I it looks like we need to approve that investment report. I don't it won't hurt us to do it. Okay, just put it back >> on investment report for 2025. I need a motion to accept. >> I'll make a motion to approve investment report. >> Second. >> We got a motion second. All in favor say I. I. >> Same sign. Motion. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Okay. If there's no other items come school board members,
I need a motion to adjurnn. >> I'll make a motion to adjourn. >> I have a second. >> Got a motion. Got a second. All in favor say I. >> Say again meeting February 9th.
