It stops halfway through and it's >> ready. >> Yep. >> Algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> They're not. motion to approve the [clears throat] second >> I'm sorry I was letting Joe in who who did the motion and second >> thank you >> okay comments on >> so I've sent the contract to you. Just a couple things I think that are worth highlighting um if you have it pulled up. If not, um salary factor increases. Um we did as required by Indiana code need to include an academic need factor and so we plugged in the early literacy endorsement. Just keep in mind that all teachers by 2027 need to have all

teachers teaching reading need to have that early literacy endorsement. So, we put that in there. Um on the the grid, we did keep the grid. Uh this year, our goal is to get the base salary up to 46,000. It was 44,000, so that'll be an increase there. Um and then the following year of this two-year contract, it would go to 47,000. Right. >> That is correct. Yep. Um, couple other highlights. For dual credit or an AP instructor, an employee who teaches dual credit or an AP course will receive a $500 stipen at the end of each Tri County semester. So, an employee could get $1,000 for teaching dual credit or AP. Um, we also increased our out of contract days. Uh so if a teacher works essentially over the summer uh we give them a

stipen of either $250 for a full day or $125 for a half a day. Grad credit was 400 we'll reimburse up to 600. Now uh for professional development expenses um we were able to for hotels uh put in the government website for PDM rates on the hotel. So based on the location of where they are going uh we will find a pdium rate for their hotel based on the average rate per that city and then we also increase the uh per day expenses from $40 to $60. Uh we also agreed to pay for professional memberships due dues for an employee up to $200 being a one non-union professional organization. We also have a loyalty stipen for employees who have been here for increments of five years. So for every multiple of five uh employees will

get a $500 loyalty stipen. Um perhaps the the biggest part was insurance. Uh we did increase our contribution for a single plan um from 8,200 to 9,000 in the first year and 9,800 the second year for a family from 175 to 20,500 and then 20 to the first year and then 235 the second year. Uh we are going to look at vision insurance uh for our employees. It'll be at their cost but we are looking at insurance. In fact, we already have five proposals that we are reviewing now. Um, on page 14, we did get in some language about prorating sick leave days. Um, so, um, we have that codified in the contract, which was important. Um, uh, perhaps another big thing that we, uh, were very passionate about was paid parental leave. Uh we

are increasing our paid parental leave to 20 days upon the birth of a child. Um we're in a placement of a child with an employee for adoption. Um we felt like five was too little and we felt like 20 was was a pretty good um incentive for an employee. Part of that 10 of those days need to be taken consecutively and the remaining 10 can be taken for the family. That's for >> that is correct. Yep. Good question. And then on the ECAs, um, one of the things we wanted to do was kind of get our ECAs a little bit more uniform, but we did increase our ECAs in some areas. Uh, most of them were just essentially rounded up into an even number, but we did increase the band director. We did increase our

FFA advisors fairly significantly um into um positions we felt like was was comparable to other schools in the area. So I believe there were five sessions that we negotiated the master teacher contract um starting all the way back. I believe our first one was even late July. So we went through July. Um Mr. Gerber, Mr. Guy, Dr. Shimmer Horn, you guys feel free to chime in. I think I hit the highlights, but are there any questions? >> Yeah. and things that we actually certain things on that government site on the on the that's that's fair big city or something like that you're going to pay a whole lot more per night than you are in some smaller arena just at a set number it's just fair for both sides >> and it keeps them most

of our most of our teachers are females it keeps them in a safer area if we can reimburse them comfortable to what's in the city as opposed to just saying okay we have hundreds of dollars for our hotel and safes >> yeah thanks for saying that and some we did more competitive [clears throat] $2,000 47, right? >> Correct. >> And just again to try to build retain. >> So that's is the contract is posted on our website. Um we're having our public hearing. I don't hear any visitor comments. Uh we cannot we have to keep the contract posted for 72 hours. So, uh we're actually just going to do the ratification, the actual ratification at our board meeting next Monday. So, after that, then we post the contract to her and we're done. So, other

business we have is the bus barn and the backpack addict edition. Uh Joe Briggs from Gibralar is with us and Paul from Skilman. Paul, can you hear me? Okay. Okay. All right. So, uh Paul sent us over some information this afternoon. Uh kind of had a breakdown of specifically the bus barn, uh some some costs. Paul, do you want to talk about that, highlight anything, share any comments on that? So Paul, help me out here. The the total bid with the backpack program and the bus barn was approximately 1.8 million. I don't have that number right in front of me. So that 953 number doesn't include the allowance. So we're if we had any allowance in there, we're just over a million. Correct. >> Yep. >> Both of this is Can you hear me? You

got the microphone right in front of you. So that's why he's pick Yeah, he can. Yeah. Yep. Yep. >> So ballpark. We're looking at roughly two million if we did both. >> No, which is what we had last. >> Yeah. So last month we had the total bid for both of those. we decided to table it, >> right? >> We asked Paul to break down break out some of the numbers, >> right? >> So, that's what he gave us today was that 9,500 or uh $953,000 number, >> but not for both. >> That's just for the backpack. >> Yeah. >> So, obviously if it's 1.8 then, >> right? Does that include the contingencies? >> No. >> So, So you really you have options as far as the the base bed that we received two weeks

ago was that 1.8. You could and I'm just throwing I'm not making a recommendation. I'm just throwing out there. You could do just the bus there the bus barn or you could do just the backpack now that you know what the cost of that is. Um, you could do nothing, reject all those if you wanted to. So, really there's four options all together, just one or the other, or do nothing. Now, I think there were some questions about the bus barn. We talked about that bus barn was uh very much I'm going to say value engineered from the original scope of work. Correct. Um one of the questions Paul was can we wash buses in that in that bus barn area? ballpark. Real ballpark estimate on what kind of additional cost would be to set

something up like that up. And just to be clear, I know we've talked about this. The bus barn is just two bays. There's no dry storage or no additional four extra buses or anything like that. Just two mechanical bays. >> Yep. >> But both bays would be fully accessible for all kinds of mechanic work. Not just storage. >> No classroom. Is there a restroom in that? >> This would be what? Overhead heating. It's not in heating, is it? And Paul, I don't mean to put you on the spot, but I'm confident you know the answer. Budget is um you mind touching briefly on the on the budget side of this uh where we're at with the high school project. And we're starting to close out things at the primary and intermediate projects. Thank you. >>

Is that talking about that already been? >> Yes. >> So if we did like none of this for example, what else would you foresee happening? for college. >> I mean, you could take care of some flooring at the high school like if you wanted to if we wanted to tackle that um tile floor, probably some wall coverings at the high school because we've we've kind of looked at like in the cafeteria for example where that wall covering is peeling off. That's a lot of wall covering with $3 million. But the flooring is probably I mean Joe and I have talked about that flooring for six years probably every bit of a million to get it if you wanted to go from one end to the other. Now that depends if you come back with tile

come back with carpet probably be a little bit cheaper but it's a lot of tile that we got to get out of here. So I guess if you put we got things that we could do with that money I mean but there's always going to be something but I don't know if I answered your question well enough. Um, you know, there's small things like for example at the wrestling room where we are putting a pad on one of those walls on the east wall. We never did pad, but it's not $3 million. I mean, it's just kind of nickel and dime things there. >> The backpack program is in a temporary >> right now. It's in Frank Rogers's work area. >> We don't have a solution. besides this. >> Well, I mean we Yeah. >>

Yes. >> I mean, yeah, >> that would still be a problem. Like, you would still have to do something >> something What other questions you have for Paul or Joe? So when he talks about three million, how many on that? >> So we borrowed basically 20 million and so far we've spent $17 million. If we were to do this backpack, that'd be another 1.8. So you have just over a million dollars left, if you want to say left, of money that hasn't been spent yet. That is not appropriated for anything. >> We did both. >> If we did both of these. Yes. >> Just want to clarify and make sure that's >> Yeah. Now, the way we borrowed it, it's got to go towards construction. So, you know, if you were to say, well, can

we spend that on teacher stipens or No, we can't spend on teacher stipens or anything like that. It's just got to go towards construction or an improvement to the buildings. That's a good question. My understanding is we we could keep it, but I don't know that people are going to be we don't don't spend I mean our payback is 20 years. So, um if you got money I mean don't have to borrow anymore you can keep it for a while but you know the same you hold on to it nothing's going to get cheaper. But if we look at something a year or two from now [clears throat] and we did geobs then we're potentially dealing with the the new rules on that. >> Yes. >> Yeah. again. >> Now, remember, we kept we structured

it so the first five years are higher of a repayment. So, we can it'll drop off or drop down, excuse me, after five years to build some debt capacity. So, >> so the geo bond thing was [clears throat] three years. >> It's five years now that you can't borrow again. You're going to have to take a year off before you would to borrow again. Now, because of the way ours is set up, we're our Yeah, we we said another five years so it would drop down and I wouldn't recommend borrowing any until that drops down, that payment, that repayment drops down. Paul, Joe, do you guys have anything else to add? lower. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, I want I'm going to get you guys off so you can you don't have to sit here

and watch us deliberate. But if I need to call you, Paul, I'll just give you a buzz here if we got any more questions. But unless there's any questions, Okay. All right. Thanks, Joe. Thanks, Paul. >> Now, keep in mind, we're still YouTubing here. So, [snorts] do we back to the question of the washing. What do we do right now? >> Right now, we pull it into the shop. Uh Jeremy Sturk and the band will come in and they'll wash and wax them in preparation for school. And Frank and Bob will wash some of them, too. We try to get them all washed one time before the school year starts and we pull them into the egg shop, wash them in there. Now, we we move the door. You can still get a bus in

there, but we've kind of als not kind of we promise that area to a um in the in the throughout the course of the year. So >> So we don't have a dedicated place or to do that, but you ever wash them in [clears throat] the winter from the standpoint bring them in, th them out, wash the salt off? >> Not not normally. We don't. No. Um, and I wouldn't recommend, especially with windmill roads being the way they are. You're just you're probably not a good user of your time to wash them now, especially if you're just going to go back on the road the next day. >> Would we use it for other mowing equipment, other things? I think the goal would be to use the old shop for that stuff, but the mower

and some of that stuff. Right now, we keep it back by the uh >> the waste treatment. Yeah. Yeah. >> So, the way I heard him say it is a ballpark. Put in those vinyl panels or whatever you talked about shooting from the hip probably 50 to 75,000 shooting from the hip. Yep. [cough] >> Yep. Which would be about a third of your allowance. Right. Right there. Over third of your allowance. Because you said there was 140 built in for the entire project. [clears throat] I'm just really falling. So round of numbers, if I'm hearing it right, that we looking somewhere around out of the 20 million, 3 million to work with. And if I want to round that up with the two million for these two with the curtains and all that, we still

have roughly give or take about a million. That is correct. Yep. >> And has to be used for construction things. And if the price of things are going up, you can say maybe sooner rather than later. And that be something maybe well even next summer. Maybe something to do with the the tile out the high school or something along that line. >> I'm just throwing out an idea. Like I said, we haven't really >> talked about utilizing that >> then maybe the next year or two versus five years out or whatever. Is that >> right? I mean, you're like if we use the title as an example, it's not going to get cheaper to replace that. [clears throat] >> That' be some of the kids were rent. That'd be more of a separate propert. Yeah.

So all of that may be utilized at or before a year from now or could be. But the other thing you got to keep in mind too, there is some merit and you've got people already on site too if you want to do some of that stuff perhaps. This this project help me on timelines again. What are they looking at? Are these two projects? >> You know what? I I don't know. I'm not even gonna try to We should have asked that question to Paul. I mean, they they'll Larsson Danielson is on site right now. So, they would start right now >> with the addition to the building, >> correct? Yeah. >> The the busing is >> that's still Lars and Danielson. They're on site. >> Okay. So, they're it would be for both of

them. >> That is correct. Yeah. And since it's addition to the backpack's addition to the building, it wouldn't totally disrupt until we open walls or did something, right? >> It wouldn't it wouldn't disrupt anything. It would it wouldn't change what we're doing from the dayto day. >> So it could [clears throat] a lot of that could be done during next semester. >> Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. >> I'm just trying again. >> Yeah. It's a lot of money. [clears throat] >> [clears throat] >> We have a motion and then we can have discussion that motion seconded. >> I'll make a motion that we do both the backpack edition as well as the bus time. [snorts] >> I just second that. Okay, motion to do both the backpack and the bus. Mr. Dustin's going to second that be

discussion if my thoughts are if we're going to do that. I think now would be the time fraction of that to put in the vinyl or whatever it takes to give us that capability versus maybe [clears throat] a lot more cost when they're offsite down the road or adding it a year or two from now. So it gives us that flexibility for buses as well as maybe other equipment or things like that. We may be using it more for that kind of stuff that we realize and uh for a lack of a better word renicking on our kind of commitment to turn the egg shop back over. What really is is the egg shop Rogers area. >> Yeah. >> And just have two bays. It's important to bus down because it can take a while

for buses down. And if you don't have the second bay, the little things can get done for changes or >> because inevitably you have to wait for a part. >> Yeah. [clears throat] >> And then it comes and it's the wrong part and then Yeah. >> And where the parts come from. >> Yeah. That kind of stuff. [clears throat] I know an option is farming out some in the future but back cost in and time frame getting the buses back and if it's something small does that mean we're short a bus down I think some of the original discussion [cough] [snorts] was for a much bigger building and more things like that. I think this may be striking a happy medium. Doing it well, but a happy medium and still leaving that option open like

you mentioned some things out or something. We did the full full board deal, then we going to feel real obligated and maybe the facilities are there, maybe we don't have the personnel to help do. I there just there's a lot there's some moving parts scaling back I think has some merits to where we're at now Jason money scaling back where it was at still making it functional to [clears throat] ruin things forid creating all kinds of electrical shorts or anything like that it's got to be my opinion on it um on the both aspects of it. the bus bar. I think we're not going to have that position forever still. And when it comes time for while we retire, then I think we're going to end up sending buses out to get repaired. And so

I think that's a lot of a lot of investment to have in a building back there that may not be getting fully utilized as a shop because that's what it is. on the backpack program. I I give them personally I've given donations to the backpack program. I like it. What's needed, but over a million dollars for a community service project is a lot in my opinion that we could get buy a lot of food for a million dollars. And I know that it's making a pinch of where to put it in the building, but I think we can be hopefully creative. But that's just I mean we have a community food pantry. Um I know they're separate, but that's it's not going towards education, I guess. >> Is it not still run through a class?

There is a class that doesn't, but I don't know how it wasn't like it was originally built with a business class that was tied into that. >> Um, [clears throat] and without the backpack program in there, I assume then that's still usable space for something else. >> Without the backpack program where it is right now, sorry, >> with the addition that the backpack program would move to. Even if we didn't have the backpack program, that would be usable space. >> It would be usable space for something. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Right now, it's intended to go back to some of his. >> I just want to make sure I'm understanding correct. >> If we were if we were to add on the addition and the backpack program were to not continue for whatever reason, would

that be usable space? >> Yeah, it'd be usable. We'd find something, I'm sure. That was my point was I understand where everybody's coming from, but it seems like every time you tie into the building, it's six figures easy, right? >> But it is something we're building it for right now. a backpack program. It doesn't always have to be a backpack program. Backpack might be able to do that and address some things. It's not a one oneoff location. It's attached right to a lot of the other CTE things. [clears throat] I'm just trying to get both sides. Currently right now though as drawing sits and you have to refresh my memory to enter the new addition you would have to go outside to go into it. I don't think there's any entrance. >> Let me double

check here. Just let me double. >> Yeah, I'm I don't think it was a lot, but I'm not positive. I see that as an issue. I think we have to have at least a man. >> You guys keep talking. I'll look for it. I'll find it. I know we have a drawing. [clears throat] access. >> No, no, >> because I think it attaches right to the that B, right? >> [clears throat and cough] [clears throat] [snorts] [clears throat] >> No, it hasn't changed. It could be. Yeah, I'm just trying to >> [laughter] >> July 17th. >> Yeah, that's it. I think this is it. July 17th, you said it. it >> July 17th. You send it to me. You just sent it to me from here to here. >> Yeah. Not there yet. [laughter] >>

I'm going to blame it on the internet in here because it took me 20 minutes to connect. [snorts] No, there's a walk through door right there, is there? >> Yeah, you can see it better than I can see because I can't. >> This is the greenhouse and this is that open. [clears throat] >> Oh, that's edition. >> That's in there. >> I have the plants up and I'm like I can't tell anything. >> We'll send that. When did you get that? June >> right here. >> So the June thing has a much clearer rendition than what I just said. >> I believe >> this is like it I like [laughter] >> I mean this this PDF or whatever this is, it says it was created April 14th, but shed right here. I don't really even

know what's in it. Like a yard shed. There's some gas bottles. I'll call them for welding and stuff. You know, oxygen bottles. Um storage stuff. I don't know. Are we talking about in this shop area? >> Yeah. What's outside right now where the addition would be? >> That's um there's not a lot other than we do have to find a different place to store the the flammable >> cylinders. Yeah. Is that >> there be a place? >> There's a door from the building it looks like and a door from the outside. >> Thank you. >> [clears throat] >> because it be 10 + 12. >> Yeah, they don't give it. >> Yeah, they download. Oh, that's because that's the wrestling area right there. So that's I guess technically >> just what are you trying to

figure Y >> well the door looks like >> is 12 foot, right? >> Plus eight is 20 plus Yeah. 30. Yep. >> Okay. Any further discussion? So I have a question Mr. reference. Um, if there was a motion in a second and then in discussion I just mentioned about doing something so that things can be watched these vinyl panels, [clears throat] curtains, whatever something like that. He's thinking like 50 75,000 or something like that ballpark. Um, how do we do that? >> Make a motion to >> I believe you make an a motion to amend the motion >> and that's voted on and then the vote would come up on the amended main motion. >> Maybe you Mr. Roberts Mrs. Roberts [clears throat] over here. >> Were you parly? I I would not tell you

what I would buy not doing that because Joe is just shooting from the hip. I mean there's I just don't want there to be any heartburn if it comes back and it's six figures. I don't want anybody to say well that was the motion that we passed was to add that in there. But that's just I'm just >> without actually having this and then we can always add that. >> Well well you have an allowance. >> Yeah. And then you also have, we know there's going to be a little bit of money left over that you could always, >> we still have flexibility doing that still here. >> Sure. Now, the other thing, and I may be ignorant on washing buses, but you could always do it outside. >> That's what I was going to

say, but >> and waxing inside is not affect >> That's true. I mean, >> yeah, >> the sun. >> Yeah. Right. >> That's not water. >> That's okay. [clears throat] Any further discussion? [snorts] >> Then it can be voted on. >> It has to be voted on. >> Yeah. You can either be approved or not. And if it's not, then you go through it again. Okay, session. All those in favor of doing both the bus barn and the backpack program say I. >> I. >> Motion passes. I'm going to say let's take a hand vote. Yes. >> Since some disagree so we can put it down. So all those in favor raise your hand. The all opposed motion passes 52. As I normally, I put who? >> Yeah, I will. Yep. >> And this is

public meeting. >> Yeah. And it's But I'll put Yep. Who voted in opposition? Yep. >> We're on number four there. >> Yep. Comments. >> Hearing none. I think we're down to number five. >> Okay. Have a motion to appear. Second discussion. All those in favor say I. I. Oops.
