To the flag of the United States of America and to the stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. So, our monthly president First I'll be asking to step on up. He's the associate principal high school leading us in recog several years ago. who started uh recognizing our grads um advertising what they're doing and then really like the world. >> Thank you. Good evening. I'm going to present 15 gradu 15 graduates. These are seniors who worked really hard to finish the semester early for reasons. Um most of them will plan on joining us for employment in June. Um, but several do have postcary opportunities that may come away from Indiana or or even the military. So, we want to make sure that we recognize them now um and also invite them

in to celebrate with their entire back. So, our first student is Aiden Bowman. Aiden plans to pursue a career as an insurance adjuster. Sophia Coleman. Sophia plans to work and attend school to become a artist. McKenna Dman. McKenna plans to increase her work hours in order to save money for college. Where she will pursue training at the time of an ultrasound technician. Nanica Garcia. Nanica plans to work and save money for college. She wants to attend Indiana University to become a dental hygienist. Maline Hayne. Maline plans to increase her work hours in order to save money for college. Nika Miller plans to attend IvyTech Community College to study graphic design. Abigail Mantel plans to work while she attends cosmetology school. 003college, as does a million years, who also plans to work a little bit more and save money for college. Naomi Mendoza plans to attend IvyTech Community College. Jasmine Schwenorf plans to take college courses next semester. Madison Smith plans to attend Ivy Path Community College before transferring to Ball State University for a degree in education. Douglas Thomas plans to work to save money prior to joining the United States Air Force. Neitz is preparing to pass her cosmetology license exam and will be relocating to Florida. And finally, Cameron Zamora plans to join the electrical union in the spring of 2025. very proud of these 15 students and their accomplishments and look forward to seeing them in June. But if not, they know that they have been recognized here at this one. Awesome. >> We are so excited.

We had two amazing coaches step up and they started with a goal of wanting to improve to be top 10 in the state and uh took that goal and actually went kept kept raising the bar. Now, you also need [clears throat] to know that a little side note that I happen to live across the street from a coach who has won numerous championships. So, maybe a little pressure, but not too much. Um, I would really like those coaches to come up because they really had a strategy and an idea and took it to um, unbelievable levels and we're just so proud of all of these students. It was actually just really and exciting to watch them each time they came up to the table. It was fabulous. So, um, but without further ado, I'd like

to go ahead and introduce our coaches, Tina Butterfield and Patty Hind. Uh, thank you for honoring the 12 very deserving students who worked hard to go. Winning the state championship still feeling just looking at when we found out that we still emotion for us. Even a month after the competition night, my partner and I still smile and think of that feeling knowing that we have won and how proud we were of our student. I personally will never forget sitting at my desk and hitting a refresh about 10,000 times school website until the results came through showing how our head had won a state championship and then running down the hall which I know was against the rules but I did and I was trying to find Mrs. wagon glass. He was in his classroom and

I was like running and then stopping at the door running and knocking the door trying to find her acting like everything was okay. We wanted to gather the kids in the room, you know, to let them know all at the same time. So, it was a challenge. Many people have asked us what our secret was. Like Kevin, he wants to know what our secret was. Um, I wish I could tell you there was a secret, but I truly believe that it started with a vision that Samira Haime and I had. That vision led to a dream. That dream turned into a goal, and that goal was constantly shared with these 12 students. You believed they could do it, and they believed they could do it. They worked hard, even sometimes when they didn't want to.

They came early to school. They played after school, memorized and studied 750 words. Maybe one of our secrets was the pizza or the donut. And we may or may not have had a clown line at one of the practices. I also want to give my gratitude and respectful thank you to the 12 families of these students who supported us and supported their children by driving them and picking them up from all the practices and putting up with my constant get relevant Viking connect messages. Uh we'd also like to thank the three classroom teachers at our school Mrs. Go and men who believed in our dream right along with us and supported the students in the first. We already knew that was a special place. This is just a little bit of frosting on the cake

of an already amazing place. Good evening and thank you for recognizing coaching this student my heart. This experience has been unforgettable, spectacular, and lady. Walking into my classroom and seeing Sylvia, Rene, Olivia, Michael, Lauren, Georgia, Alan, Ashton, Luma, and Laura. That was the highlight in this experience. They were always happy to see one another and ready to tackle the spelling test. excited to learn new words and willing to do the extra homework. These kids truly inspired me and gave me the fuel to go the extra mile every single day. Mrs. Butterfield and I have been asked what our secret was. And honestly, there's no secret. Our formula was to combine two passionate teachers, 12 hardworking students, and an incredible support system that included teachers, families, and our school principal. We all shared one dream. We

set goals. We trusted the process. We executed the plan. But above all, we enjoyed the ride. We had a lot of fun. And I guess when you put all of that together, something special happens and that's how big they champions. Thank you. >> For those of us, but it absolutely Uh and really kudos to have 12 students uh from a school that's on smaller side and to have slow come out you know iron sharpens iron you know where one person sharpens another and so only eight right go up and compete all 12 are really important uh practice after practice after practice the first starter the best. So, we've got eight competitors. Sorry, you 750 words. These are outstanding words. We're going to ask you about something. Uh but you know, uh everyone in the state

competes the same night and uh they get all the same words and so uh each student uh there's like eight competitors for each student and uh then there's all sorts of tiebreers should begin. Uh, and I know Park scored 53 out of 56 correct words and at one point had 41 straight uh correct words, which is one of the tiebreers that released, but they didn't need a tiebreaker because they out second place and second place by what? Three words. Yeah, it was >> unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. So, uh, all eight competitors were either perfect seven for seven or near perfect six or seven and you get ribbons for [clears throat] and it's just an incredible team all the way around. No one is going to be able to take that achievement away from the other for

the rest of your life. movie will be state champion. Now, I also happen to know that middle school many many years I think I hope and those I think are 1500. So, uh, congratulations on being a champion. Uh, will you take the time to maybe introduce them? >> All right. All right. Awesome. [clears throat] [laughter] Congratulations. was Did I win? Anyone? >> [laughter] >> Don't worry. Easy. There we go. >> [laughter] >> So, in a sense, >> [laughter] >> really the funny thing was [laughter] and one big round of applause for the coaches. The whole team [laughter] blast come on over. All right. And I will send this picture out of so that everyone here cookies. These are made by our high school service department. All right. Grab some ice cream on the way home.

Congratulations. >> [laughter] >> How are you? Now the cover is not I'm this person We are next on the coma question. All those in favor? Moving on to recommendation for employment board. motion. Moving on to the financial report. >> Thank you, Madam President. Uh each month we present our finance report yearto date revenue and year to date yearto date expenditures for our tax funds and our yearto date performance report for November 20th education fund has yearto revenue of and 36477.6 The expensility $645,000 operations fund the debt service fund year revenue of 2,239,195 year state expend 3,952,744 all debt service today [clears throat and cough] of $78,32 $2 year expenditures of $1,412,39 and there is a $150,000 temporary loan from the ring fund for pension debt fund for cash purposes repay this month in the operations

fund year revenue of 16,680,595 year expenditures of 21,47423 include that performance 745,000 transfer education cost and the operating referendum fund year revenue 3,147,315 year expenditures of 5,17254 all the funds I mentioned so far education we did receive our taxp referendum The year-to-ate revenue was 6,172,640. We believe a review of the fund shows a very positive financial position. If there are no questions, we ask for approval of the financial report. >> I'm moving on. Thank you. Moving on to contract considerations. Uh thank you very much. [clears throat] This is one contract consideration for Alberta High School with FBI Enterprises for musical theater international

production contract for fall of 2026 from performances as per our custom maintain and build suspense. Uh we do recommend we approve the contracted version. Any opposing? All right. All right. Motion carried. I'm moving over to have two grants for your consideration. The first one is the state funed grant for high ability program. This year have a total allocation [clears throat] of $63,493 grant for high ability screening and assessment curriculum materials I and testing and participation IB and AC specific professional development and development instruction. We also have the alternative educational grant with an allocation of $1,169. This is a state funed as well. This is reallocated by specific use for supporting children in recovery from alcohol or drug use. from an alternative. Let me answer any questions. There are more people saying your President we have

several I will be doing the first page and then Dr. auction will be second. Uh so elementary school received uh school supplies valued at $250 for students need PJ received Baltimore valued at $3,647 Memorial Elementary School PON supplies valued at $725 Capacity Iota chapter donated $200 for the Viking prize program and county health department value of $42 for student need high school. 016um likely to share a little bit about our sex program. Um, as you know, this is our weekend program for families and we had several years about 200 students participating in the program that number around 300 families over there for that family. We were able to children. So a lot of these donations have to do with that donation. So we have two anonymous donations of $250 and living trust $25 and my guy. Um the following donations are part of the host food drive annually drive and also other donations for um and that includes lep $1,000 Patricia $150 and Martina $50 for order $500 $5 number 94 writers $2508 auxiliary $250 plus 98 gaming $250 unit number $250 Samuel and Laura and Marlo $250 $250 $50 and special forc $100 SPL 94 $250 American Legion Charles

Fraternal Order of Eagles Varezo area number 2517 social fund $250 Enterprises $2,13 and Philip and Lorie signing $200. Our birthday donations were over $7,400. Um this year we also um donated a number of short food items for them and we received monetary donations as well holiday jazz tries to find. This is our favorite part. how grateful and so any discussion any comments First, we are moving on. Thank you, Madam President. We are in the throws of phase two of progress and review. We have our own friend and his team and just talk about all the good things we're at. story. I told our team tonight [laughter] [clears throat] that the progress of phase two, but more importantly

results from the phase one effort. Before I get started, I wanted to introduce some team members and and boils. Also, we're joined this evening by contractor around and then projects like this don't have really members of the school corporation Dr. and Jim Boyfield have given us great guidance. And then probably most importantly, Andy Blastic and his team um are pros of working controls project buildings. The number of calls they get complaints about rooms being too hot or too cold are huge. So he's done a really good honest feedback man. So we're appreciative he feels confident to give important feedback and we're very appreciative that stepped up. So kudos to I'm going to give a quick recap been a while since phase one was approved. Mr. opportunity about phase one. Um phase one was completed in

January of 25 at campus was activated. Not a great time of year to activate solar but ironically um last January through March were the best days we've ever had. Much plier than budgeted performance. Um so I'll just start there. The project consists of five energy conservation measures. We did LED lighting in the end of your school. We energized the TJ campus with solar. We have car parkour DJ elementary solar on middle school much of that room. We did some retro commissioning which is um study of your control system at TJM. We perform utility monitoring there which allows us to react in real time to reduce power usage and we replaced your boiler system there. Your contract phase one was approximately 5.8 million and the contract guaranteed savings amount is about 8.5 million. We'll see in

a little bit you're actually going to save quite a bit more than that with the statute number. Um the the contractor has to guarantee not only the cost of the project is saved but all maintenance and interest carried that number really large number this project was impact the land of America they under the project alongside strat they are wanting to know that their proceeds are going to be paid by the end of the statement. Um, in addition to project being paid for, the purpose of doing a project like this are free up in your operating fund. So approximately $100,000 a year of your operating fund was reduced. So we were able to transfer energy cost to the tax less from your operating fund. This project received, ironically, our tax entity, but you received a direct

deposit referred as an investment tax credit from the Treasury Department. So once this project is completed, we file paperwork with Jim's help on your behalf. We received a check approximately $916,000 from the Treasury Department where tonight there's about $7,500 in interest that [clears throat] was unexpected and then through your utility company we were able to apply for $16,000. most important piece of it work with all of our homework and our feability study pay off. We're always we're regret the data we provide here for you to make informed decision. We're fairly confident in our data and the proof is in the pudding. So this report card by building energy conservation measure you guys [clears throat] about 2.6 million hours for value of about $49,000. What's been complete here is we still have [clears throat] that solar

between now and mid January. We wanted to quite as close to one year as we could this year meeting that said increase in their savings from two rate increases that code imposed on the district um over the last two years. And so I wanted to share the impact of the decision you made to do this project and the cost that you're not going to pay going forward. You don't mind Well, in the far left column that was your original model, the word was very conservative and travel as well. Dr. Paul and the team look at the data mixed rates on average over the last decade about 10% per year for commercial um we a 3% annual increase in line with where inflation was expected to be that left column based on eliminating about 2.6 million

kilowatt hours with 3% inflation was going to generate approximately $12 million in saving over the 20 year period. The cheapest energy that you purchase with the energy and so you avoid $2.6 million 2.6 kilowatt hours. Every time there's a rate increase, you're not paying that rate increase on those hours that you're not using. And so September 23 month and so time want to understand what is the impact of that. In July of this year, there's another rate about 15% your rates. And so we ran those numbers. And so the two rate increases, you're avoiding an additional $3.3 million energy cost you would. So that's the power of the projects are saving energy and cost associated. power and then not pay for those additional asked me today. We're still holding the 3%. These are just two

graphs in this area. graph that's just showing total project impact of the avo. cost increase and then these are numbers that Mr. But January through October, November's closed bills are in essence you're paying a bill for a month in November's numbers in January numbers. But today at the middle school meter electric meter, we have saved $171,000 over last year's bills. And at the at the elementary school, stated about $25,000 ahead of what we projected and I think the math works out to be campuswide about 72% of the energy temperatures have been offset model% average couple before and after pictures um this is your your gym probably not the best example of daily retro the bottom picture much brighter. Um these these fixtures while brighter and providing the actual lumen needed for classrooms and gyms uses

about a quarter of the energy that hard to see but that's your carport there in the parking lot. And then behind it on the gym roof of the elementary school, the new roof shot. This is your middle school system. So that's quick overview on phase one. We expect We'll continue to monitor that project and it performance. Most importantly, your contract with their review, they perform daily monitoring system. If there is any error with the boilers, any electrical item that you'll know about it and they'll make those corrections without waiting for you. real time monitor ensure that you savings that were contracted uh phase two. So we got approved to contract about a year ago for phase two. This is a larger project uh that included an energy man management monitoring system. So the system informs

real time how energy is being utilized and make adjustments to lower because the most expensive time of use that existing facilities. Uh we expanded solar into nine additional facilities. We are retrofitioning. So you want your mechanic on control system maximizing those commission of your facilities. You have five buildings where your building controls cannot function. You're receiving new controls and a commission on five of your facilities and then micro turbons which are generators and a generator. [clears throat] So you're generating your own electricity demand shade which is very portion of the electric field and that heat is being wrapped into your boiler fuel load low that's notic on that including the full service maintenance cost $18 million yielding $34 million in guaranteed savings over the life of the Bank of Americ schedules today. Um we are

largely complete with a lot of the items. The um one that's going to come online first is your microbury savings um at the high school the middle school. So the first quarter I think one's going to come online in January and the other one by May operational behind them. the pressure at 0% complete. We want to make sure all systems are up and function in process but they will not be this year project is going very well. It is a project that people in environment without as mentioned the controls process from time to time has part feedback from Andy and his team in a response from G&R team asking Andy outside if he is truly satisfied but I think is encountered and responded according overall the project man got a few pictures I just want

to share that project uh on your memorial Memorial system penetration the electrical run there what we call AC work that's been done once they set modules close we have more time but the solist people ask the module. Yeah, this is a great picture of it. The back side of the module is actually 10% come back 10% around 27 to 32 degrees underneath that solar 10% so it'll be 33 34 degrees will melt prior to sticking to the panel now falling in the low 20s or 18° or 15 you can see build up, but it will melt off or slide off a little micro They're getting ready to generally heat exchanger over the course of time. Those will be the largest energy savers and that's why we're looking at first. questions. >> Yes. >> I'm sorry.

[clears throat] >> Under statute answered, no. that guaranteed outside the controlctor, but when received it is there's a shortall made So again it's a conservative approach. There's probably a 20% Um the second I believe we already received a rebate for the second >> you didn't So now you didn't receive them not because you [clears throat] qualified going back going back to that conversation beautiful was coming out you guys were through your contract afforded the ability to modify how the solar was approached because of the potential uncertainty whether or not you would get the credits at the time. They learned that if the contract between you and Gary was executed before the end of this year which you're supposed to be executed and the project that received 5% of the material state and protected under the

whole investment credit so it has been the systems are registered but similar to paper exactly like phase one the solar has to be energized for us to send the final tax paperwork into the Treasury Department. So in 2025, we filed your 990 form with the IRS in March and you received your check before. And so we anticipate for a schedule getting your system 26 and filing the paperwork in March 27 and receiving this. Thank you. >> Yes. >> Appreciate the time. >> Our timing and our precious nature of beginning early and doing things the right way. We're now in the position that in a tertiary way with the on uh coming from the federal government that changes in the law and where people may have seen this as a good idea to get ahead because

of the processes that are in place may not have been able to make those deadlines in qualify for those in [clears throat] we've been able to do that as well as our commitment to the market for American made in the project [clears throat] that we're going to be able to be higher even post election or jump on this project. You're in essence part of your project before that became necessary to do the work. We're representing corporations and private business and part of your project. It's everybody's going crazy when we file for your return 4.5 million. Well, thank you lot. But I think identifying excellent prep and then identifying very such campus has generated a lot of good questions and buzz from the community because it's so visible. sparks questions throughout the analog investment in solar

energy not just but also from being good a lot >> just curious why >> yes we we've been able to turn a lot of our community partners um for a lot of identify and then they started Yeah, instruction working with the school corporation. We're challenged every day we do but for you schools to operate what you're doing and what all schools are attempting to do energy savings. You have you have a client that without their energy saving they will not be able to [clears throat] revenue. So we expect utility rate but utility rates increased Indiana on average but also that's changed since that's data center AI infrastructure leaving a basic first one year and we think there's an argument for one year rate increases and so I share that we've done a lot of ground

work in phase one and that is unsustainable glad you did it and I encourage One more question. the reason for not putting the solar seats on some of the other roofs that are there future plans under this contract as those need you guys updated. created a master plan. We understand the room ages and when they're scheduled to be replaced, but the school elected to install solution. [clears throat] Yes, there's a lot of opportunity Yeah. Um we have three net so change in 20172. Prior to that change, we we actually have three clients that are net zero. They do not have connected utilities every month% hard to do now. I think this year [clears throat] I think really depends on financially that's overd news about it being >> so statewide net they look for over production

retail So they would reduce in the summer time. >> Yeah. Yeah. is very different, right? And I didn't even know that, right? >> I'm guessing they are just overen credit. Thank you guys. [laughter] >> [laughter] >> already Thank you. [clears throat] Fund but the revenue did not follow. Uh so for county The month of transfer is $5,000 due to increased cost. I would have utilities salaries to request that we increase that $6.45,000 $45,000 to $655,000 and that would be important 202. temporary transfer. Uh each year we request that a temporary transfer takes place from funds from the rain fund to the pension debt fund for cash purposes. Um we will be making our final pension debt payment in January. However, we won't get the revenue for that until the June tax draw and December tax

draw. So for cash flow purposes, we are requesting that $345,000 be temporarily transferred fund to the pension debt fund made after the tax. Um and if you mention that >> All right. Last is the uh resolution to close the 2025 year again. Uh each year we close the books uh and some accounts within funds are over some spent. So um we are requesting permission to uh transfer money from the 20 accounts within the same fund to close out calendar year 2025. This is something that the end of this year and a list of all these transfers will be brought before the board for approval as January. at the time permission to >> anyone. uh thank you board. I would just say that this has been a tremendous semester. uh low um but a lot of

positive I know you've seen it in board updates and board meetings by people and I had several opport doing these all the buildings building they were marching towards cycle week. Uh but um you know just a lot of happy kids being in class inspired uh you know some of those teachers that they have were Vikings and come back next generation retirement happy service full time the person we hired her class of 21 21m they're really about the people that inspire me and that's who I want to be for the next generation just your soul validates what we do it inspires us to continue to work hard on the greatest ever support leadership. Thank you to excellent teams. We hire new people that we have special hard work. >> All right. Well, um I promise to

stay for a minute. I do I just want to say happy holiday to everyone. I want to thank the forward tracking so nicely tonight and holiday colors. Um but really uh again I'll continue to just how this board to work together. We are aware we are aware that the SRO was not on the agenda and the community is aware that session and I want to thank the board for sharing showing up for that as well as the chief and his assistant grateful for the conversation that we were able to have there. As Ashley said last month, we wanted to do our due diligence and back what we did. Um we are mindful of the people who are in the room and um the leadership that they hear, the positions that we hear and so we

are going to leave that conversation uh to the chief and to the superintendent to finish that conversation in February. We have had most of our questions answered. Still put some some questions on the table that we were uncertain of as board and what we are responsive that we needed to make sure we understood the need for SRO if there is one. um and just having a conversation of what we were considering before. And so because we are discussing that we are going to do that superintendent and student at that time. Moving on to that, I want to thank you all for Monday night after after this meeting, but we were able to get it done. Ashley had to be in the room. Everybody watching had to be in the room. But I am thankful for

the support that don't think that we fully agree agree on everything. Carl will roll his eyes out of time to time [laughter] that I know that he's doing it. It's the way. It's a wayful. >> Yeah. I know Eric and I talking about, you know, much more about kind of in the stages of researching [clears throat] training for the board. So that's kind of a large offer specifically. Um that's something I've only been on the board for a year and a half. So um you know that um share it. But um just kind of keeping that on the docket. Um also excited legislative session starts. So we'll be including moving forward on legislative updates that are required by the ISBA next month. Um and then I know one of the other things is we did

get the email um from the redevelopment commission about potentially recommending a board member. So I wanted put that out there. Correct. School district in the city. name and the mayor voting advisory member. >> So there'll be one one that will come from that pool. >> The mayor will select one from the name that both Um, but I did send it to looking at before we list you know what what is the goal for right what are >> [laughter] >> Carl earlier. having to enter and there was a need to be done by the end of the year because they only think twice a year and we needed to make sure that we got in whatever it was in the December slot. How was that going? We submit whatever we can control. We control right there

ready with over. I do want to switch gears here, but I really do appreciate everybody coming forward. I appreciate the administration joining me here and trying to make sure I understand what it is that we're doing and what we're supposed to be doing as time. Um, people have questions, concerns, let me know. But I appreciate the opportunity to serve this way here. I do have at some point in time some I don't want to say payback or pay forward to actually an inind gesture from commemorating the amount of person. All right, we got to upgrade
