To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Good evening everyone. Apologize we're starting a minute late to take a quick break but we are here this evening for our November 20th 2025 school board meeting and do we have any open public comments? Sorry. >> Okay. >> We have some student and staff recognition. >> Uh thank you, Madam President. We have uh a few district-wide uh recognitions and celebrations. And so, first I would like to have Miss Ashley Bowman come on up to the podium. She is our uh food services director and she's going to talk a bit about uh school nutrition services. winning a grand prize for the Kelanova nationwide how do you crunch recipe contest
>> good evening board we applied for a recipe contest with Kelanova um they submitted a contest for any recipe using their cheit product at the time we currently were offering our peanut butter beastro lash in our high school. Um, so we asked Val Barezo to vote for us as a finalist in the contest um, among five other recipes that were entered and we were notified that we were voted as the grand prize winner. So, we were awarded a $1,000 grand prize to use within our program. We were awarded um Helenova products, Helenova merchandise, and national recognition on their social media and website pages. >> Thank you. You know, yet another uh feather in the cap with a recognition for creativity, nutritional quality, a presentation obviously uh really and you know just to brag a little
bit on Mowman and her department, they do a lot of innovative things uh from giving student feedback on menu items to around the world uh menus districtwide and including the elementaryaries. Uh and then even today uh having guest uh chefs and servers uh for their Thanksgiving uh lunch. So, uh, we were able to whip up some pumpkin fluff, uh, and fluffy. Uh, you know, top it off with a little cream and, uh, and a little graham cracker bay. So, it was a lot of fun. >> There's at least two elementary schools that I I know that students that really appreciate. They're all about >> Congratulations. >> Thank you. I'm still congratulations. >> Yes. expedition. >> Um on November 7th, uh the Indiana Department of Education released a list of nearly 100 Indiana schools to receive
the Purple Star Schools designation. Uh the IDOE selected this year's design in collaboration with the Indiana National Guard. The Indiana Purple Star Schools are recognized for their significant display of commitment to students and families connected to our nation's military. Uh schools receiving the Purple Star designation meet the following criteria. They have an assigned point of contact for military families. They meet all grade level training requirements for point of contact. They have a dedicated web page providing recognition and resources for service members, veterans, and student families. They host an annual military program, for example, Veterans Day 911. Have a public military display recognizing service members. They submit a schoolboard resolution publicizing support for military students and families. ensures military service members and their immediate family members meeting minimum job qualifications for open positions at the school
will be guaranteed an interview. Uh the designation is valid for a period of three years. And so we're excited to announce that uh all of schools have received this distinguished designation. And I'd like to call up Caitlyn Rooney uh who's our education support specialist uh up to the podium and she's a veteran herself. uh worked here in our building and uh spearheaded this initiative uh in order to get all of our schools. So, if you care to talk a little bit about uh the process and your experiences, that'd be great. >> Meeting board. Um Kaitlin, uh I started this over the summer. Dr. recall tasked me to to get the middle schools and the elementaryaries um on board because obviously VHS has the Hall of Heroes and they were kind of already going with that.
Um so I worked with those principles and we had another veteran at Havlin, Amanda Cotton who spearheaded their schools. So we had um a lot of different ideas for military displays. So we have pictures of family members. We have a military garden um also just like about the branches of service. Um so students can see those readily accessible at their schools. So it's really fun. >> Well, thank you Jay. and her specialty is uh standard operation procedures and so watching our military training in action organizing our military band and getting everyone on board was a lot of fun as well. So congratulations on all your efforts. Thank you. Uh and then finally uh I'd also like to announce that all Valreso community schools have received the US News and World Reports 2026 best schools distinguished
designation. And so Valzo schools achieved the best elementary and middle school rankings by ranking in the top 40% of all schools in the state. And the evaluation for elementary and middle schools is based on state level school proficiency in reading language arts and math. It also considers socioeconomic demographics and studenttoteer ratios. Uh this determines whether learning in core subjects is achieved and their views how well schools educate their students. And so uh with the middle school and high schools and then of course Alberta High School being ranked uh 17th in the state uh along different metrics but similar uh we're just uh very proud to be recognized. This isn't why we do it. We don't do it for the athletes. good for the students and giving them pathways and opportunities uh to find their passions
and pursue them. Uh but it is also uh nice to be recognized by these outside agencies as well. So I want to bring that to your attention as well. >> And we have no one signing up when we were going over uh the last uh piece I saw the students drop their head and take notes. So that's all right. We're going to move on to consent agenda. Um I need approval consent agenda if there's no discussion. >> Motion second. Second. All right. All in favor? >> Any opposes? All right. Motion still carries. Um, now we are moving on to recommendation of employment candidate. Dr. J. >> Thank you. Pursuant to Echo 2026 511.2. Uh, we do need to have a separate agenda item when considering this candidate. Uh the details are in your board packet
and we do recommend approval for this uh late coach position. >> Is there any discussion for >> I have a second please. >> Um all in favor. >> Any opposes? None. Motion carries. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. We are moving on to our financial reports. Uh performance of budget funds. Dr. Excuse me, Mr. Joe. >> Thank you. >> I'm opening you up. I'm opening you up. >> Thank you, Madam President. Uh each month, we present our financial report comparing the year-to- date revenue and year-to- date expenditures for tax supported funds and our year-to- date performance of fund report for October 31st, 2025 shows the following in the education fund. Year to date revenue 45 MILLION 671,188 year to date expenditures at 47,452733 uh expenditures include the monthly $645,000 transfers to the operations fund and
debt service year to date revenue of 2,239,195 year expenditures was 3,952,664 all service payments have been forced extra this month tax fund revenue of $78,32 years expend 1,414,039 uh there,000 temporary loan day fund to the pension debt fund which will be repaid in December. the operations fund year-to- date revenue of 15,940,805 year-to-ate expenditures of 19,913,192. Uh the revenue includes that monthly $645,000 transfer from the education fund previously mentioned. The operating referendum has a year-to- date revenue of 3,147,315, year-to-ate expenditures of 4,717241. Uh that there is also a tax draw next month for that fund. The capital referendum year-to- date revenue 6,172,640 yeartoate expenditures of 5,683,500. All debt payments have been made to date and there's a tax for that fund as well. The rain reate fund no change. There's been no revenue for the year
and the only expenditure is the $150,000 temporary loan to the pension fund before next month. We believe review of the fund showed the financial petition. If there is no question, we ask for approval of the financial reports for October 2025. >> Any questions? >> Well, I was just going to say for our young adults in the audience, can you explain the tax draw and why right now it appears that so many of our >> certainly we receive our most of our funding from our tax draws in June and in December. Well, we start spending in January. So, we have money in the bank that we spend down until we get the tax draw. It bounces back up in June. We spend it down in December, bounces back up for the start of the year. So,
we're we're fronting the money until we get paid back from the county. >> All right. Thank you. Have a second. uh all in favor. Any opposes? Um that motion carries as well. >> Thank you. >> You are welcome. We are going on to contract considerations. Dr. McC. >> Thank you, Madam President. We have several for your consideration. Uh we have at high school uh two uh concerning uh the assignment of athletic officials for various sports uh with Lake County Athletic Officials Association, Northwest Athletic Officials Association uh for the next three years. Uh HR imaging partners for school photos uh from July 26 through June 29 also at the high school for $7,500 annually. Uh also at the high school we have uh vending services for athletics with Freya's Coca-Cola bottling and Continental King team uh
from August of 25 through July 28th and that's based on sales districtwide. Uh we have our annual agreement to provide much meal services for Lil Preschool uh for this uh second semester uh with 335 per meal with milk. secure construction for boiler preventative maintenance agreement from 25 November 25 to November 27 for $61,200. We do have an MOU with a byboard cooperative purchasing cooperative. Uh there is no cost to join that but that gives us buying power on various items. Uh and then we have uh anou with say something uh through the state of promise uh which is an anonymous recording system that will u replace our current see something say something and will be man 247 comfortable uh transitioning to that element. So happy to answer any question. >> Yeah. Could you tell how
that works a little bit just for >> for Brian's notes maybe? Yeah, I start. I've been working with the district safety committee since August really um evaluated involving a process to decide uh to make this recommendation and the Sandy Hook Promise Anonymous uh tip line is operated 24/7 365 like Dr. McCall um said, students can report much like they've been reporting already um mobile app um a website or a hotline. So, an actual phone call when a tip is submitted, it goes to their crisis uh their national crisis center and that is manned by certified and licensed staff members. So, those staff members vet out uh the tip and then they make a decision on whether or not it is life-threatening and that follows a certain protocol of phone calls including and up to um
notifying 911. So we get some help to families no matter what time of day or night, weekend, weekday, so holidays and things like that too. It's always covered. Um if it is something that is not of life-threatening nature, that's sent in an email or a digest to administrator. >> And how do how do students get the information to know the number and the whole process? >> Yeah, education is a big part of it. They have a lot of resources for us to use to help train families, kids, staff members. A large part of what we do is sharing it out just all over our building, social media, making sure that kids know that it's available to them in various places in our website. Um, part of our safety plan possibly discussed in classrooms or something.
>> Definitely. obvious social media outlet. So I perhaps will be in that direction. >> Perhaps >> add to the list on our compos. >> So we're very excited to bring on the partnership. Definitely. >> When will that start for us? We're aiming for January. So, we have to follow process with them and make sure all the training is in place first and then we'll be allowed to um put it live. >> Great. Thank you. >> Um any other discussion? >> I had a couple of questions. Um one on the beverage vending agreement, is this a renewal of something that's been in place before? Um, and then the the buy board initiative that we're pursuing, there's not a cost. This is a way of they handle some of the bidding process for us essentially. Is that
>> correct? Uh, Mr. You want to elaborate on how many people? >> Yeah, they this one is is out of Texas and uh they solicit bids from vendors from all over the country and they take care of the bidding process. So that if we need something that is over the fitting threshold, they've already done the bidding for us. So we just select a quote and we know that because of their work, it's going to be the best price that we can. We already different purchasing cooperatives through different things, milk, uh supplies. Um and so this one will enable us to purchase playground equipment specifically. I was just thinking um Ashley Nomi does uh her followup email we missed um we missed it this week. I want to apologize to the board for that. Um she
does this well for the audience. She will do a followup of the meeting that we have. Uh just kind of summarizing so the rest of the board is aware of what we discussed and I know Dr. McCall uh took some time to explain that to Ashley and I um during our meeting how that process works. Um so if you guys No, I just want to make sure that as we're approving stuff here that people get a chance to hear what it is that we're talking about. >> I I would move to approve. >> I'll take that as a first. I have a second. All those in favor? >> Any opposes? They are none. Contract considerations pass. We are moving on to grants to contract. I have one grant this evening for your consideration form. It
is the title 1Z grant. This is a annual grant that we uh help manage. Has a total allocation of $35,55.30. We serve as the LEA for this grant. Um the beneficiary of this is the Porter County Juvenile Detention Center. They use the funds for supporting academic needs for their students that are placed in in the juvenile system. Typical. The only question I have for that one is um what does um the collaboration look like? Because I know that if we sponsoring a grant, what does that look like? Our collaboration between us and them. Does is there a teacher that comes from our system that supports them? Is there a curriculum? What is that? We we're kind of like a through and through for them. So yes, we do meet with them. Caitlyn spends a lot
of time making sure that they're following all the regulations and the requirements and they do support um their academic needs through an employee. We employ them um and then we pay through this grant for that uh fund. Good on our Yeah, it's a nice opportunity to thank Caitlyn for all her work on all of our brands as well. So she does a lot of collaborating with them and making sure that they're follow following the right regulations. >> Thank you. That was the only question I had no other question. >> Um I need a motion please. >> A second. >> Second. >> All those in favor say I. >> I. Any opposes? None. Motion carries. Um thank you. Yeah. Thank you very much for You're welcome. We are moving on to donations and gifts after >>
uh so we have several for your consideration beginning with uh Porter County Farm Bureau donated eight copies of the Indiana Farm Bureau Our book of the year, right minute for our libraries at the elementary level and Coldstone crearyy donate approximately 1,000 coupons for a free kids cup of ice cream or yogurt with one mission uh for student incentives to be used at our elementary schools. Central Elementary uh for their students in need received nine winter coats from Nan Sao. Uh six winter coats from Deline Little and an anonymous donor uh donated two pairs of winter boots at Cook's Corners. Monos soul donated $100 for principal's discretion and lake received from family express five dozen assorted donuts valued at $59.95 for their student council leaf breaking project. Parkville Elementary received pumpkins valued at $335 for their
student council pumpkin patch from Hines. Ben Franklin Middle School uh their builder club received $300 from the Kuanas Club of Alparezo and the Valbo Parks Foundation donated gift cards for five free admissions to Central Park Plaza ice rink valued at $60 for the student giveaways for red and the career center automotive shop supplies received $150 from Tony and the culinary program Skills USA competition received $40 from the Edwards family and two anonymous gifts of $50 and100 $100. The vet tech supply uh program uh received $50 from an anonymous donor as well. Districtwide, uh Fleming Brothers Oil Company, Ernie Shell Giving Funk, uh donated $12747 to be used at the superintendent discretion. School nutrition services received $50 from the John and Vicky Lubec Living Trust and Backpacks and Stacks Program received several donations this month. $50
from the John and Vicky Lette Living Trust. Uh $250 from James Rusher II. $500 from the Valpreso Sun Sunrise Kuanas. $125 from Fred and Deborah Admidas. $200 from William and Jean McCall, $250 from Regis Hes, one case of plastic bags from Mard, and one case of plastic bags from Town Country Market. district also received uh for our students in need from Hersel Labs 900 winter gear items the season I did have someone ask a question about how they can donate and how do they know what to do people's names end up on the list >> so um that's a a very broad question. If people are in the giving mood, whether it is items or even just a financial support, uh contacting our office, uh and they'll either reach me, uh or Dr. Hawkins uh
and we can talk to them, point them in the right direction, kind of see what fills their soul, you know, if you want to uh dedicate food, you want to dedicate um clothing, you know, we we have a lot of avenues, are you interested in in science with the science program? Um so just contacting our district office and we can match them up with something that builds their soul. >> Thank you. Any other questions? All right. I need a motion to approve these donations and gifts. This is the more we do this on this motion to accept. >> We're not second. First and second. All those in favor say I. Any opposes? None. Motion carries. We are moving on to all business. Um we are looking at some board policies uh for second reading. I
do um want to say here uh that we really want to just focus on the educational opportunity for military children and we are going to table the other two um policies. Uh general call >> just need a motion to approve uh policy 4013.1 >> first by John and a second by Ashley. All those in favor all those in favor I >> any uh any opposes none motion carries. Um, now we move to uh new business. Uh, request for advertise um for network infrastructure equipment and licensing. Mr. Chris, good evening board. Come before you tonight to request approval to advertise for bids for the network infrastructure equipment licensing and associated cabling. Uh we plan to continue to give replacement of equipment that is nearing end of life across the district while also increasing wireless coverage density
where needed. This will be funded out of the CPF uh dollars, but we'll also be applying for the heater category 2 reimbursement which will cover up to half the cost of the project. uh with your approval this evening. Hope to be back for you uh in February for the February board meeting with the recommendation to award the contract and happy to take any questions at this time. >> No questions. No questions. May I have a motion to request an advertise second? >> That was a K for first Carl for a second. All those in favor say I. I. >> Any opposes? There are none. Motion carries. Thank you. You're welcome. Moving on to morning business. Um 2526 operating referendum detention type in Mr. General. >> Thank you, Madam President. Uh current VCS employees with a
higher date prior to January 1st of this year may be eligible to receive a 1% uh retention stipen. substitute non-contracted temporary and ECA positions are not eligible for eligible for the stipen and are not included in the calculations. This retention stipen is paid from the 2022 operating referendum. Uh a roster has been provided to the board and with the board's approval, the payment of this 1% stipen will be scheduled as part of the December 5th payroll. We are requesting approval to pay the 202526 school year 1% retention stipen to all eligible employees. Any discussion? >> Thank you. May I have a motion? >> Salute. >> Second. >> All those in favor? I >> I motion carries. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. Uh moving on to approval to award work through. >> Thank you, Madam
President. This is just a follow up to the discussion we just had. Uh as part of the evening's contract, the board is approved moving forward with our membership application to the National Purchasing Cooperative, also known as board. Uh being members of the purchasing cooperative means that we will take care of bidding on our behalf for purchases from vendors who have agreements with the cooperative. Our playgrounds consultants had obtained closed through by board for the soft play installation at Central Flint Lake and North View elementary schools. Uh the playground equipment was through a property that was already belong to source that there were no vendors in the source that do this soft. Uh we are asking for approval to accept a quote to the soft pipe installation in the amount of $858,399.90 from Protek Servicing LLC
for pending our membership in work. >> Any questions? And this will remove they currently have mulch right at all three locations and so they're the only ones that have currently do not have surface and there is a separate uh separate bid that was approved in a prior meeting to remove all that >> all right if there are no other questions have a motion please >> second all those in favor say I. >> Any opposes? None. Motion carries. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. Moving on to our 25 26 26 27 and 2728 school year calendars. Dr. >> Thank you, Madam President. Uh the 2526 school year calendar is really just an update for you that due to our unseasonably early snow day that we had to enact uh that we will be invoking the uh
snow day makeup uh that was originally scheduled uh for the 18th 19th of December. So, we will now go to a school on a full day on the 18th uh and then a half day on Friday the 19th of December uh for students. Uh and then the second half of that day will be staff development. Uh and then we will be flexing out our uh teacher records uh half day. Uh so that'll be flexed out over the break. That's a a method that we've deployed in the past when these situations have come up. Uh the do you have any questions on that? >> No, I'm glad you explain that. Thank you. >> Of course. Uh the 26 27 27 28 school year calendars. We have a baunted calendar committee made up of teachers and administrators
who uh have really uh worked on honing the calendars and then re-examining it every year through uh our value structure. And so what you'll see is something that looks very familiar. Uh we're starting uh there on Wednesday um kind of easing into the school year uh going uh three days uh and then having a weekend. I think you guys appreciate that kind of rhythm, right? Uh and so we will have three and a half weeks and then uh a three-day weekend with Labor Day. Uh we'll have our uh half day uh staff development uh day on September 25th as is our rhythm. Uh and then we'll have our fall break on a Monday, Tuesday following the end of the nine weeks. And so that gives us uh four weeks after Labor Day and then we
have the 4-day weekend again looking at that sort of building stamina rhythm going on. Uh why Monday, Tuesday? We get asked that quite a bit. It used to be bridging the weekend. We took way back Thursday, Friday, we do Monday, Tuesday with the following nine weeks, but it also balances out the Thanksgiving break for elementary specials. So, we got to keep them on rhythm here. So, um we do have the Wednesday before, uh Thanksgiving off. And so you'll also know at the end of October uh the parent teacher conferences uh this year was the first year that we had this a week later than normal. uh teachers thought that uh by uh delaying in a week we would have better conversations and dialogue with uh the parents because report cards are finished but also our
learn checkpoints uh are valid and so just more data to bring to those conversations and the feedback uh was excellent and so we maintain uh parent teacher conferences at the end of October for the next two years as well based on that Uh we keep our e-learning days on the uh election days in both November and May um regardless of whether there's an election because we find the November to be helpful with making sure we've got our uh e-learning links uh in case we have to have uh e-learning makeup or god forbid a polar vortex again and we have a on the-fly or prepped with short notice uh e-learning day. So, we find that to be uh helpful to have. We finish first semester before Christmas break uh because um of our uh dual credit
classes. Uh we want to maintain uh alignment with colleges, but also so that we can graduate kids at that uh before Christmas break um so that they can get started on their next path. And finally, uh, we used to end, uh, first semester after Christmas break, like a week and a half. It was, it was very awkward and we'd have finals. Uh, and the feedback we received was that it it really wrecked family time. Uh, that, you know, people would be studying over break and nashing of teeth instead of mashing up potatoes. And so we we really had that. You like that one? Um we really we that will start earlier in August the first semester before that so that finals are done kids and families can enjoy uh the holidays together. Uh and then
second semester uh you know that picks up speed. Uh we come back on that Monday. We have Martin Luther King uh day off. We have uh 4-day weekend at President's Day. Uh and then spring break is the last full week in March and that is a countywide unified spring break uh because of all of our shared services. U and then we will be out before uh Memorial Day uh in May. So question um October 29th and 30 half day for students K to 8 only. >> Correct. >> What's the rationale? >> Parent teacher conferences are for students K to 8 only. >> Okay. >> And so those are actually Wednesday night uh and Thursday afternoon and early evening. And so that's sort of flex time. So then the teachers have a half day on Friday
in order to make up for the long day on Wednesday. They're there till later in the evening. >> Okay, makes sense. >> Great question. >> Correct. >> Do you have a lot of students graduate in December? >> Uh, you know, we we have a couple of handfuls, you know, I mean 10 to 12 usually. Then do they come back in the spring and >> they they're invited to and welcome to. Yes. Uh some do, some don't. Some are already off in the wilderness doing their thing. >> So they specialist special something for them before they go just in case they don't come back. Just I would rather walk in my cap and gown and I get it. >> All right. That's rinse and repeat for 27 28. I don't know if it's just because our
time is busy, but did we always do that this extra calendar? >> We've done it uh intermittently. Uh and we would have brought two last year, but we were doing the uh parent teacher conference change and the committee felt like let's just put one year out, see how it goes and then we can commit to two years in advance. I did see remembering that in the last few years. Thank you. >> All right, board. Um may I have a motion to approve um all three? >> So move. >> Second, please. >> Second. >> All those in favor? I >> I Any opposes? None. Motion carries. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. All right, moving on to Dr. Allison. we will go over our secondary new course proposals. >> Thank you, Madam President. Members of the
board, um in your packets, you have uh detailed course proposals, four new courses to be added to the high school. Those courses, uh the overarching purpose of adding those courses is what we've talked about in the past when we've been talking about these new diploma seals. uh they either fill a gap in the Indiana College Board or they add an AP opportunity where one doesn't currently exist. Uh we know that both of those are going to be significant programs for our students uh particularly our current freshmen as they move through high school to earn credits and demonstrate a high level of proficiency uh for those new diploma seals. Particularly earning an enrollment plus is the one that we're kind of eyeing with each of those. So uh for those who don't have a word packet,
I'm just going to summarize the four courses briefly. Uh those are an advanced composition class which will be a dual credit offering. A the AP seminar class will replace the English 10 advanced course. So putting in place a AP course where we already have an advanced English 10 course allows those students another AP opportunity. And that's really important because they need to have opportunities to earn the AP distinguished honors. Uh which means taking five uh AP tests and passing them with an average of 3.5 or better. Uh so we're starting them early, giving those opportunities early on. Uh third, the Earth and Space um Earth and Space Science 2 course. So, we already have an Earth in space, but the Earth and Space 2 will allow us to add another dual credit offering in science
where we don't have currently any dual credit offerings. Um, those are a little bit harder due to licensing um and the work that we do with the university partners to get certified as dual credit. So, that's one avenue that they've been able to find to do so. And fourth is the AP business with personal finance. So, we already have a personal finance course. Personal finance is one of the requirements for the new diploma seals, but about 18 to 20% of our students elect or at least indicate that they are interested in going into some sort of a business degree uh when they graduate from Valzo High School. We thought this was a great opportunity to add an AP opportunity uh to that business department uh that will give them an AP point and also helping
them work towards that AP distinguished scholar recognition. So that's the summary of the four courses. I said the summaries in your packet as well as the detailed proposals. Um I'm happy to answer questions that I can't just couple years late and so he is enjoying those classes. So that would have been ideal for him as we had Uh any other discussion board regarding those new proposals? >> Um may I have a motion, please? >> Uh second, please. >> Second. All those in favor? >> Uh any opposers? None. Uh motion carries. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. Thank you. >> All right. We are moving on to uh non public comment for non-aggenda orformational agenda items. No one has signed. Okay. So now we are moving on to superintendent board comments. >> Well, thank you. I'll
I'll uh have my comment really just previewing uh next month's meeting uh student staff celebration. Uh we've got the results from the elementary statewide elementary uh spell competition and we are proud and excited to announce that uh Park View Elementary uh emerged as state champions deoning central who placed second in the state. that's going on all the time. Um, it it went on this past year, which is what led to the decision um to keep it at four SRO's this year, and it's still under review. It's not a stopped, it's done process. We're in the middle of that to try and make sure we understand what are the needs, what are we trying to do, are there needs that are unmet, what's the best way of people have feedback or information on that they think
we need to know, suggestions, let us know. Um, and we will go from there and hopefully be able to move forward when we have the information we need to make good thoughtful accurate decision. to send us emails. Look forward to that. But the open door and I moved on and I go to K and TW back. I need to go over something with Ashley. Then I got to go back to K and then finally when I'm done processing him actually in K now I can go to Carl you know and so that process takes a while which is which is the reason for the executive session allow we have to first tell you what we're discussing just um and that's the only thing that we're grateful to be able to have the opportunity to come
back this time and have the president to give us questions. But we are always coming to meetings and >> I think I'd just like to say you know the discussion of Even when I was that I kind of had to reflect on what I had said because it is a balance, right? But you want the school and the children and the staff feel safe. You also want to school. I think that when we have these discussions that don't want our children going to school feel that they're, you know, in a police that's a completely watch. I want them to have that experience. And so one of the problems that I've also been having in accounting discussions is that there is commentary that are you know schools are unsafe and I think that's something that we
all take seriously as you know haven't necessarily found right as John said the policies the plan are all consistent any questions we have answer a lot of time with us to walk us through you know what the plans are, what the procedures are, you know, what safety measures are in place. Um, which, you know, again, as a parent with children makes me feel better and I understand that he can't. So again, just reiterating that, you know, we are doing our due diligence and there's nothing that had given me pause at an event to make me feel that you know anyone is not doing their jobs or that our schools are not safe or that you know there is any cause for concern right now. But I think it is always agenda that will be there
forever and complement appointment and we need to have the body and determinate that on a following term.
