001Hello, this is Chris Whitley with Hanover County Public Schools with an important message. Well folks, it looks like our weather wrecking raccoon is still causing mayhem in Hanover and I think we are all ready for him to jump on the wagon and get out of here. Unfortunately, we have a few more obstacles to overcome before we can send him packing. So, please listen carefully. Snow continues to impact our county, which remains under a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service until 10 p.m. tonight. Temperatures well below freezing are forecasted overnight, preventing snow from melting and causing icy conditions. This is expected to create hazardous travel conditions for our buses, student drivers, staff, and families. As a result, Hannver County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, December 9th. Employees use code six, meaning at

Employees use code six. We understand this is disruptive and sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to make the best possible decisions for our students and staff. We hope that sharing this information well in advance is helpful to you as you begin to make the necessary arrangements. Please be assured that our goal is to get our students and staff back to school as safely and quickly as possible, recognizing the impact of extended closures on our community. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through another round of this icy mess. In the meantime, we hope you stay safe and warm. We hope you have a
