on Tuesday, right? That's a Thursday. Just a reminder for people on that. Yeah. And that's >> make a note on that. >> Yeah. That that's due to uh different schedule days. >> Oh, yeah. No, no, make a note next to it. Thursday night. >> Yeah. Yeah. We can do that. Yeah. Uh so that's and then I think the rest of the dates are the same as we looked at last week or last week. >> Excuse me, Mike. Just to let you know, um the feed crashed, so he's recording. >> Okay. Recording. All right. Good. anything on the calendar or the dates? >> So, it's a long period of time between July 7th and August 20th. I didn't know if any early August dates were considered >> uh potentially if there's something to do. Do you
have anything in mind? >> Well, I just like it would be nice to have it on on the calendar is just to pencil it in. So, I was I don't know if you looked like August 4th is kind of in the middle there. Maybe a Zoom meeting as needed. Um, it's just there's a lot of change going on with the district. So, it would be nice to be updated. >> I don't know if Brent's scheduled for August 4th. Is anybody else opposed to August 4th >> as an as just holding the date as an as needed, not like there's nothing to be done. I like I don't want to force a meeting where we don't need one and then have on the 20th and then the 8th. I mean, even in Zoom, even if it's
only one or two, you know, I know everyone's around for vacation. >> If there's if there's anything that needs to get done, we can always, you know, add meetings as long as we we can always agree to have a meeting as long as it's posted properly. So, we can do that as well. Talk to Brett and see if anything's going to be needed. >> What's the date you're proposing? >> August 4th. It's just, you know, in the middle >> and it's a Tuesday. I'm not I'm not sure that's going to work out with everybody's calendars, but we can keep it in mind. >> Probably just >> Okay. >> Zoom realistic. >> I'll talk with Brent if there's anything that needs to get approved or anything. We'll do it by Zoom like we can watch Zoom
or something. >> And then July 7th and Mike, right? You're looking at that as being a Zoom >> that that's Yeah. Um depending on how the hiring goes, how that comes out. Yeah. Anything else? All in favor? >> I. >> Anyone against it? >> All right, that meeting passes as well. Um, the district treasurer item on here is uh the same treasur just it's a year-to-year appointment. So, could I have a motion to appoint district treasurer, Mr. Roberti? >> Beth. >> Second. >> Jackie. Um, any questions on this one? What's the job description? I saw the document about him, but it didn't really ask what the job description was. >> So, he's a he's a gentleman to you last year as well, too. So, you need the district needs a treasurer to go in there
that's sort of removed from the business office, right? So, he comes in maybe once a week, maybe maybe once every two weeks um and just checks all the books and makes all the transfers take place as well too that um it's not just happening from the business office. He oversees um and keeps responsibility for also all the um the finances of each individual school that might have separate accounts as well too. Um but you met him last year. We're fortunate to have him. He's done an amazing job. Um and so we're looking to continue his work for next year as well. >> Any other questions? All in favor? >> Anyone against it? >> Okay, motion passes. The next item, the director of finance and operations. Uh we may come back to that. We're not going
to do anything with it right now. Uh we may come back to that depending on the executive session. So that concludes business items. The next item, policy GBD, the school committee staff communications policy. Uh I think we're going to table that for tonight. Um Al, you mentioned earlier uh communication was a big thing that came through the strategic plan. We started implementing communication protocols and procedures. This is a a big conversation, an important conversation. I think we need all members here to have that conversation. So I'm going to skip over that one for tonight. And it was one of our largest things in in our strategic plan that parents and families want, right? And my my advice to you as school members and people in this community during the summer. There's a like you said,
Jess, there's a big gap, right? And there's the soccer games, the baseball games and all that stuff that goes on. Please refer to the communication plan, right? Um whether it be Brent or me or like how that system works and our principles as well too. We we use that. I use that multiple times. the amount of calls I get from parents that say, "Hey, I want to" and my first response is, "Did you talk to the teacher? Let me let me reference to the communication plan. It's on our district website." So during a summer time, sometimes that gets a little lax, right? And I just implore you to just use that as a reminder. It's a great document and it goes right along with our strategic plan. >> I look forward to flow information to
the school. >> So we'll put that on our future future agenda items, please. Uh car motion, please enter executive session. We may return to open session if needed. Executive session pursuant to mass general laws chapter 38 section 21A purpose 7 to comply with our act under the authority of the public records law to review the executive session minutes for possible release. Also executive session pursuing to mass general laws chapter 38 section 21A purpose 2 to conduct strategy session in preparation for negotiations with non-union personnel and to conduct contract negotiations with non-union personnel. Director of finance Mr. Jackie >> second >> Beth our roll call Jackie >> oh >> hi Beth >> hi >> Lisa >> hi >> Jess >> hi >> as well so we'll enter executive session now thanks everybody >> thanks everybody anything
announced yesterday.
