Yeah. >> Uh, madame president, looks like we have due communications. All right. See,

Uh so we just kind of reviewed all of that. Um, we will move on to item eight, shining star above and beyond, Mr. Fischer. >> Madam President, thank you. Uh, I want to thank all the folks for coming out tonight. We've got a wonderful turnout as we recognize our Shining Star students and above and beyond staff members. Leading us off
004tonight with the recognition and awards for the Burgger program uh, is board treasurer, Miss Margie Sanders. We're going to start out tonight with Burgger Baylor. Our shining star student is Jacob Lingal. Jacob Turn around with your dad. We're gonna talk about >> how great you are. >> Jacob was nominated by Nicole Modus's teacher. So, I would like to nominate Jake Lingal for shining star. Jacob has consistently been a role model for his classmates this year. Jacob has demonstrated independence walking in the hallways as well in the PB PBIS store and gym. He waits his turn, completes his task, and transitions well. Jacob has been doing a wonderful job at Burgger, and we are so proud of him. >> Our going above and beyond staff members, Liz Mullins, the administrative assistant, Liz isn't here. Um, she
005was nominated by Nicole Modus. So, I would like to nominate Liz Mullins for Above and Beyond. Liz has always been available for questions, even my silly ones, without making me feel like a burden. When I call down to the office, Liz always answers with a smile, which you can hear through her voice. Liz goes above and beyond for us staff members during teacher appreciation week, making sure that we are treated superbly each day. I really appreciate Liz and all she does for for us here at Burgger. Moving on to the Burgger Transition Center. Our shining star student is Gavin Baldwin. Hi Gavin. That's for you. Congratulations. Gavin was nominated by Jay Pendle, his parah. Gavin is in Miss Katie Yen's classroom. This past month, Gavin has not only been a wonderful student in class, he
006was also a star on the Nightriders basketball team. Gavin always helps in the classroom or passes to his teammates on the court. Anything Gavin is involved in, he does it with eagerness to lend a hand and a smile. We are very lucky to have Gavin as a Burgger Bronco. Congratulations, Gavin. >> Uh, our going above and beyond for the Burger Transition Center is Annette Shuffler. All right. Annette was nominated by Vale King and Karen Rouff. It is our honor to nominate Annette Shuffler for the above and beyond staff member recognition. Vale shared that having worked alongside Annette for over 10 years as her par profofessional and now in a different role within our district. I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the extraordinary dedication, compassion, and leadership she brings to our school community every
007day. Over the past year, Annette has also served as my mentor, guiding me through the complexities of the IEP process with patient expertise and a wavering support. She has she has played a pivotal role in helping me grow professionally, always making time to answer questions, offer insight, and ensure that I feel confident in my work. Her commitment to supporting colleagues is just as strong as her commitment to her students and that truly loves her students and consistently finds creative ways to make learning fun, engaging, and meaningful for each of them. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every student feels valued, supported, and excited to participate. Her impact extends far beyond the classroom. She is the founder of Blaze's Place, our school store, which has become a meaningful and engaging opportunity for students. Through
008this initi initiative, students use PBIS V-Bucks to purchase drinks and snacks, learning valuable life and social skills along the way. And that frequently goes above and beyond by shopping outside of school hours to keep the store running while stopped. In addition to Blaze's Place, Annette supports other programs within her cohort, such as the coffee cart and the staff lunch program, always finding ways to create inclusive hands-on experiences for students while also fostering a sense of community among staff. Her energy, creativity, and generosity consistently elevate everything she is part of. As Annette prepares to retire this year, it is difficult to imagine our school without her. Her influence has shaped not only programs and systems but also the people around her. I know I am not alone in feeling incredibly grateful for all she has given
009to our school. Karen also shared, "I have worked with Annette for two years now. In this short time, I have learned so much from her in the classroom. Annette is a strict teacher with rules which makes her students better people. She is fair and well-liked by students and staff. I enjoy coming every coming to work every day and being her para and friend. Annette is very deserving of this award. She truly exemplifies what it means to go above and beyond. Congratulations, Annette. >> All right. Good evening. Uh, I have the honor of doing the Shining Star student award for Lathers. Uh, this goes to Cassie Ogle Tree. CONGRATULATIONS. >> She was nominated by Lena Swan, a teacher. She said, "I would like to nominate Cassie. I have truly enjoyed having Cassie in my class this
010year. I've watched her grow so much academically and socially. She was a very shy girl and has been amazing and it has been amazing to see her open up. She is a fast learner and she learned all her kindergarten words. She has made many friends and is kind to everyone. Cassie is always ready to help with anything I ask. Cassie is a shining star. For this reason, I am nominating Cassie for the Lather Shining Star student. The next student for Lathers is Jameson Strickland. >> Congratulations. >> You're welcome. >> He was nominated by Mrs. Coupe and Miss Stephanie, both teachers at uh GSRP. They said, "I would like to nominate Jameson. Jameson has made a lot of great improvements this school year. He has shown a growth in maturity and skills. He has made many
011friends. He participates, follows directions, and is great at sharing. He is very caring about others. Jameson is silly, which puts a smile on our faces each day. He has grown to do so many things independently, and we look forward to seeing his success in the future. For this reason, I'm nominating Jameson for the Lather Shining Star student. The Lather's Above and Beyond staff member is Lissa Gibson. Lissa was nominated by Lena Swan, also a teacher. Lissa is an amazing teacher. Not only does she work hard with the students, she goes the extra mile to help staff and staff with other issues like testing. She is always ready to go the extra mile with any task handed to her with no complaints. Miss Gibson is a wonderful person who goes above and beyond. I'm also doing
012the uh shining star student for Memorial. Uh the shining star student is Amelia DS. Congratulations Amelia was nominated by Miss Seawwick, a teacher. She said, "I would like to nominate Amelia DS for the Shining Star student of the month of May." Amelia comes to music class each week, eager to participate and ready to learn. Amelia is a role model for the rest of her second grade class. Not only does she follow all teacher directions, but she is also curious and active and actively participates. She loves to learn new music and songs and asks questions to further her knowledge. Amelia is not only a great student, but an all-around great person. She treats students and teachers with the utmost respect. She's open-minded and she works well with others, valuing different perspectives and opinions. Amelia is the
013type of student you wish you could have more more of. Her kindness, her smile, and her great leadership skills are just a few reasons why I'm why I'm nominating Amelia for the Shining Star Award. The other shining star student for memorial is Henry Hedger. Congratulations. Uh Henry was nominated by Mrs. Pelky, a teacher. She said, "I'm honored to recommend Henry as the shining star student. Henry has shown incredible growth throughout this school year, especially in his social development. He has always been strong in his academic abilities, but he is now confidently sharing those strengths with other students. Henry, it has been wonderful to see you participate or I'm sorry, to see you personally grow and watch you build positive relationships with your peers. I look forward to watching you continue to grow and succeed in
014the future. Love, Mrs. And the memorial going above and beyond uh award goes to Emily Bowen. Uh Emily was nominated by uh Alex Voss, a teacher. They said, "I would like to nominate Emily for the Above and Beyond award. She is an amazing co-orker and teacher and deserves to be recognized. She also she I'm sorry she shows up for her kids and does great a great job teaching them what they need to know. She is one of the leaders of PBIS at our school and does a wonderful job getting our students the resources they need and developing whole student initiatives. She also advocates for her students to make sure that they have everything they need to succeed. She is a great role model to me especially in ELA. I am glad to show her some
015great recognition for all the hard work she does for the school and her kids. >> Hi, I'm gonna start out with Douglas, the shining star student, Miles McDougall. Is Miles here? Congratulations. Turn around. Show everybody your fabulous award. I'm gonna tell everyone how wonderful you are. Teachers can open the door, but you must enter it yourself. This Chinese proverb proverb is what exemplifies Miles. At the start of third grade, Miles was hesitant to open that door. He often lacked the confidence to read aloud or tackle new text independently. Then over the past several months, that hesitation has shifted into genuine effort and pride in his reading progress. Through consistent practice and support, Miles has developed into a stronger, more confident reader. He has even shown this growth by going up 20 points on his reading
016NWA. Oh, we're not done, Miles. We're not done. More importantly, his attitude toward reading has transformed. Even when things may get tough, he is more willing to take on the challenge and demonstrates increased effort. It has been wonderful to watch Miles's confidence grow as he has experienced success. You should feel proud of the progress you've made and the resilience you've built this year. I am super proud of you, Miles. Remember to dream big, work hard, and read more. I wasn't supposed to have Douglas. I asked another board member to switch with me because this uh person who got nominated for going above and beyond I have known for over 20 years and I'm really excited to give this award to India Edwards. It is a pleasure to nominate India Edwards as our staff above and
017beyond this month. When a paraprofessional position required a long-term substitute, India jumped in with both feet and a huge heart. Despite being a building substitute and unfamiliar with the specific duties of a paraprofessional, she quickly mastered the schedule and all the intricacies of the special education classroom. Notably, India has taken the students with the most challenging behaviors under her wing. With a constant smile, she ensures that everyone in the room is supported and cared for. India brings a vibrant light to the class, ensuring every student feels valued and heard. She consistently implements new techniques and methods to foster student success, demonstrating a genuine passion for professional growth. She often seeks ideas from other staff members about how she can better serve the students, attends training such as CPI, and even researches strategies on her own
018that she tries in the school. This is all while she is still finishing college classes and completing her teaching degree. India is also very well respected by her peers. This is evidenced by staff members across the building, frequently calling upon her for help. She is the first person they think of and she is always willing to take on any challenge. India also spends a lot of her own time building relationships with students at Douglas. Outside school, she attends students games, performances, and extracurricular events. She even coaches some of our students on a softball team. She goes above and beyond to make them feel valued. India also does so much more to make Douglas a fun place for students and families. She organized a tattoo a teacher fundraiser, a huge hit with both students and staff.
019She has also planned several fun staff bonding activities and events to bring everyone together. For the second year in a row, she is planning the Douglas Family Carnival, which is a huge event that everyone loves. She is passionate about creating a positive environment at Douglas and her unique ability to be creative and think outside the box is just what the school needed. India embodies the phrase above and beyond and we are so lucky to have her here at Douglas. And now we're going to move on to Farmington where our shining star student is Leila Haye. >> We're gonna tell everybody about you. Okay. She was nominated by her teacher. She says, "I am honored to recognize a student who has not only excelled academically, but socially as well. Leila is a student whose outstanding efforts
020show that she will make an amazing seventh grade student." From the first day I met Ila, I knew that she would be a hard worker and would shine in her our classroom, making it a positive environment for her peers. Ila demonstrates success by partic participating in class conversations, being respectful, and giving all her effort in everything she does. Ila started out as a shy student and had difficulty raising her hand to give answers. She has slowly come out of her shell to show everyone how much she knows in a respectful and encouraging way. Each day, Leila dedicates herself to her work by staying on task and pushing herself to do her best. Ila has made many friends within her class and chooses to treat everyone with kindness. She also helps many people and goes above
021and beyond by caring for our classroom as well. This year, I've noticed that there are a few students that look to Ila for advice and encouragement. She is a great leader in the classroom, and I can't wait to see her progression in the years to come. Stacy, one more time. >> Oh, sorry. I'm guessing are uh going above and beyond. Carlen Arrow. She here. I would like to nominate Carlen, our above and beyond staff member of the month, a veteran teacher who is new to our district and building this year. Although new to our school community, she has already made an immediate and lasting impact on both students and staff. Miss Arrow's kind, calm, and gentle approach with students creates a welcoming and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected. She consistently
022goes out of her way to help to build positive relationships with students, taking the time to truly get to know them and support both their academic and emotional needs. In addition to the strong connections she has formed with students, she has quickly become become a positive and collaborative member of our staff. Her experience, professionalism, and caring nature have been appreciated by colleagues throughout the building. Her dedication to students and her ability to foster meaningful relationships make her truly deserving of this recognition. The Farmington family are fortunate to have her as part of our school community. I would like to celebrate our shining star student from the middle school and it is Paige Balak. Let me tell you a little bit about Paige. Paige was nominated by pair professional Anna Mcullan and she wrote Paige has
023greatly improved her reading skills which has helped her so much with the classroom assignments in her classes this year. Paige is always willing to help other students in her computer technology class if they're having trouble with an assignment. And our Going Above and Beyond award winner for the month for our middle school is administrative assistant Debbie Formansky. Uh she was nominated by principal Brandy Boswell. Let me tell you about the amazing Debbie. Debbie has stepped in and gone above and beyond to support our Garden City Middle School team throughout the year. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and is very forward thinking and in ensuring that things are done on time and correctly every time. Spring is always a busy time of the school year in our office and Debbie makes every
024effort to ensure that the student awards and pamphlets are ready for our honors night ceremony. I should give you that good picture. Sorry. Um she checks every spelling and ensures that each certificate is printed flawlessly while managing the normal heavy workload that goes along with working in a middle school office. So tonight I have the privilege of presenting the shining star awards for the high school and they go to Ellie Coleman and Dea Chazini. special shout out because I've known this one for 18 years, too. And her birthday was yesterday. So, uh, she was nominated by Sharon Kohler, principal, says it is only fitting that our shining stars for May at the high school are the stars of our recently performed musical Frozen. Ellie Kogelman and Dea Cassimi, two amazing seniors who brought down the
025house with the portrayals of Anna and Elsa, both with eight years of theater shows to their credit, whether it be on stage or behind the scenes. Two girls with optimism, warmth, grace, and a power about them that will have them being their own heroes in their stories yet to come. Ellie and Dea have both done well academically, striving for success in all of their classes, even when the demands of theater seem to take up so much of their after school time. I've had the opportunity to watch both of them grow and soar from rehearsals to backstage to front and center. They work hard for all they have achieved, care about the others around them, and are truly two beautiful human beings ready to take on the world that awaits them. Mr. Bennett shared that it
026is rare when a theater director has one outstanding student actor to work with and rely upon, let alone two like Ellie and Dea. Their excellent legacy is nothing short of aspirational and inspirational. Despite all their success and significant accolades, their kindness combined with their positive attitudes and eagerness to learn are just some of the wonderful qualities provided by Dea and Ellie daily and will be missed upon their graduations. Congratulations Ellie and Dea Dea for being amazing both in and out of the spotlight. And our high school above going above and beyond staff members, we have two of those. Michael Kino and Stephanie Ludic. Uh they were nominated by Sharon Polar, principal here. Stephanie and Mike are co-chairs of our MCAP MCAP school improvement team. They are the co-chairs for our CONIA national accreditation process and
027they both work with our link crew as a sponsor and volunteer sponsor to our link leaders helping our freshman get acclimated to high school. 2026 was the year of our accreditation review process. The review entails a very intense review of all of our processes, collaborations, test scores, professional development, relationships with students, teachers, etc. Staff, students, and parents take part in interviews to share their experiences and the questions asked are all based on the information provided by our co-leaders. Mike and Stephanie worked all year as a team to create working groups with the staff, collect data, arrange information, and guide our building through the entire accreditation process and then presented all they gathered to our evaluator evaluators on March 20th. At the end of the evaluation, they were both given accolades by Cogna for the great
028job that they did. I've never worked with a pair so eager to take on the responsibilities on their own for the accreditation and it was amazing to see all the work they put into it and the collaboration they had with the staff during the process. I commend the two of them for all their hard work and the patience they have had while we eagerly await our official results. Great job to the both of you. I'm happy to have you on the team at the high school and look forward to all of your awesomeness in the years to come. Right. It is my privilege to round out the evening with Cambridge. Our shining star student is Keith Terry. Let me tell you about Keith. He was nominated by Mark Kay, the principal at Cambridge. Uh Keith
029arrived at Cambridge in the fall of 2025 and has become a favorite of staff and students. Scholastically, Keith has worked hard at completing courses each trimester to earn his credits toward graduation. But even more impressive is the grades he has achieved. During the first two trimesters, Keith has had over a 3.0 GPA. Furthermore, Keith has had minimal absence this entire school year. Throughout his time in our program, Keith continues to show himself to be polite, inviting, and pleasant to staff and students. Keith is a quiet leader in the classroom and by completing his work, other students model this behavior as well. Keith comes to school every day with a smile on his face and a positive attitude about Cambridge, which is infectious when you see him in class in our hallway. There is no doubt
030that Keith will leave Cambridge a better place when he is done with his academics and walks across the stage with his diploma. And our going above and beyond staff member is Angela Cassie, teacher consultant. Angela was also nominated by Mark Kay and he said uh the May above and beyond award is being given to Angela. Uh Miss Cassidy came to Cambridge in late October from Minnesota. Miss Cassidy is a native Michigander who was excited to come back to the area and excited to find a job within the Garden City Public School District and at Cambridge High School. Since arriving at Cambridge, Miss Cassidy has taken on a case load of 30 special education students, inclusive of some who, excuse me, inclusive of some who were here when she began and many who have enrolled during
031the year. Miss Cassidy completed her required IEPs. Um, she also along with our special education team has created a resource room so that both special education students and general education students have a place to go if they need some additional help or a quiet place to work. Due to this room, students are completing more work than ever before. Cambridge High School is lucky that Miss Cassidy has chosen our program to bring her smile and skills to each and every day. Can we get one more round of applause for all of our award winners tonight? Thank you. Okay, moving on to item nine, presentation A, Daka, Miss Pomeo. Good afternoon. Hi. Um, I'm Linda Bamaro and I am the adviser for DECA. And DECA is an association of high school business students. And we just got
032back from an extremely exciting conference in Atlanta, Georgia, where we competed on an international level with 26,000 of our closest deck of friends. >> We would like to thank you for Okay. When I say 26,000 of our closest DECA friends, I am not exaggerating. DECA has 316,000 high school members in the United States and Michigan has We came back with pride that we made that we made it. We qualified. We competed. We did very well. Relief that Spirit Airlines did not close down until three days later. New ideas, fundraising and community service project ideas, school store product ideas for spiritware and food, social skills and contacts, the pen trading, the academics, meeting in the buses and in huge arenas and Cington Center. We plan to get even better. You can't bring all these people to
033a place and not have a lot of help because we were in the MercedesBenz um uh arena which is the same size as Ford Field also run by the same company by the way. Um and we were in the convention center which is about I'd say three times the size of Huntington Place. Yeah, it was really huge. So we had a lot of help. I um want Angie Phillips. Thank you very much. Um Neil Cado Stephanie Leonard who is not here but um it's Kayn's mom and then my husband who's not here because he's in Florida and also was there too. So we had five of us. Did I get them all? I got them all right. five of us to take toeto totoe to to be in all the different places that the kids
034competed. And thank you to all of you for your support throughout the year judge judging and just just generally just saying you can do this. You can do this. You're you'll be okay. And and and our administrators at the high school who I can't even tell you between Mr. Salivich Salowitch and Mr. Mr. Herman and Miss Coler who listened to several different presentations, listened to the kids, gave them feedback, um, supported me to say to say it'll be okay. We're going to get through this. So, we did and it was all great. So, thank you very much. It was a great great trip. Thank you guys. Thank you for our goodie bags. And it's always great to hear about your adventures and all the accolades that you guys receive. I'm looking forward to next year.
035And we will move on to presentation B for the Garden City High School. Mrs. Kohler. All right. Well, just FYI, that is student art right there in our main lobby. So, they were walking on a lobby that's from our 3D art class. They created those and they are now hanging in the lobby. I want to say byt. Check it out. Uh we are actually changing our goals now to exceed the national standards. Instead of meet or exceed, they are all going to be exceed because we know we can level up. All right, speaking of level up, this is where I want you to know where we started in 2023. Notice all of our reading and math in the red. Uh third 29th percentile. Okay. So, part of our my kit plans has been working with
036Dr. G as a consultant through Solution Tree. He's been helping us on our um schoolwide interventions and our MTSS That's right. Okay. The final exam will not count against them if it doesn't help them. Uh we had a waffle breakfast uh before Onyx, who is our therapy dog, who has been to one of these meetings, uh, and comes to our staff meetings on a regular basis to calm me down, I think. Uh, so real quick, we still have our mantra that's level up GC. You will hear it, you will see it, the kids make fun of it. We don't We Okay. Item 10, comments from the audience focused on today's agenda. And we have none. Approval of the general consent agenda items. A, regular meeting minutes of April 27th, 2026. B, finance committee minutes of
037April 27th, 2026. C, policy and focus committee minutes of April 27th, 2026. And D, bills payable. A motion is in order. >> Sport. All in favor? Any opposed? Motion passes. Item 12, new business. A, Michigan High School Athletic Association membership. Mr. Fiser. >> Madam President, thank you. This evening, I'm bringing the uh annual uh resolution for school district membership with the Michigan High School Athletic Association. Uh you will find in your board packet got a little feedback up here. Dan, maybe it's all that metal in my brain there. I don't know. The uh membership resolution reads as following for the year August 1st, 2026 through July 31st, 2027. This is for Garden City Middle School and Garden City High School. The schools which are under the direction of the Garden City boards uh Garden City
038public schools board of education and the city of Garden City County of Wayne of State of Michigan are hereby enrolled as members of the Michigan High School Athletic Association, a nonprofit association and are further enrolled to participate in the approved inner school athletic activities sponsored by said association. Uh with a recommended motion that the board of education hereby delegates the superintendent or his design the responsibility for the supervision and control of said activities and hereby accepts the constitution and bylaws of said association and adopts as its own the rules, regulations and interpretations as minimum standards as published in the current handbook as the governing code under which the said schools, Garden City Middle School and Garden City High School shall conduct its programs of intercolastic athletics. and agrees to primary enforcement of said rules, regulations,
039interpretations, and qualifications. In addition, it is hereby agreed that schools which host or participate in the association's meets and tournaments shall follow and enforce all tournament policies, procedures, and standards. And this authorization upon board approval shall be effective from August 1st, 2026, and shall remain effective until July 31st, 2027, during which the authorization may not be revoked. Motion is in order. >> Any discussion? All in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion passes. Item B, the 2026 2027 Wayne Resa budget. Mr. Fischer. >> Madam President, thank you. Board members, uh you've uh been advised on the preliminary budget of Wayne Resa. And it's the obligation of all uh 33 public school districts that are serviced by Wayne Resa ISD uh to vote on that preliminary budget. And with that uh comes this model resolution which reads whereas
040this board received the Wayne Resa general fund operating budget on or before May 1st 2026 and whereas in accordance with section 380.624 624 of the revised school code. This board must now adopt a resolution expressing its support or disapproval of the proposed Wayne Resa budget and must submit to Wayne Resa board any specific objections and or proposed changes the board may have to the budget prior to June 1, 2026. Therefore, be it resolved and the recommendation is that the Wayne Reese general fund operating budget for the 20 26 2027 school year be supported and that the secretary of the board of education is hereby directed to submit a copy of this resolution to the secretary of the Wayne Reesa Board of Education along with comments. >> Motion is in order. >> Any discussion? U Madam
041President, real quick, um again this year, this is probably the third or fourth year in a row. Um I just just want to get on record um and have it noted that our residents consistently support the Wayne Rea Village. Um and I think it's long overdue time that um as a county um Wayne Rea starts figuring out ways to get the trades a trade center um for our public schools. Um other counties have them, very good ones. Um and Wayne County individual school districts have um nice skilled trade centers. I think it's long overdue that Wayne Rea realizes I'm sure they realize it but starts including in their budget funding um because we have more and more kids going in the trades and we're not having the opportunity to get them um involved in the
042high school. So just want to go on record hopefully um we keep passing these millages. We'd like to see something countywide offered to our students. Thank you. Anyone else? All those in favor? >> Any opposed? Okay. Motion passes. Item C, the 2026 2027 school bus purchases. Mr. Wniski. >> Thank you, Madam President. As part of the Michigan School Business Officials, MSBO bus purchase program. School districts can contact participating bus bus dealers directly to arrange for the purchase of new school buses without the need to enter the bidding process as that aspect has been covered by MSBO. Garden City Public Schools intends to add two new Bluebird 65 passenger buses to its fleet for the upcoming 2026 2027 school year. The cost of the new buses will total $314,696.50 50 cents and will be covered by
043the district syncing fund which obtained voter voter approval to allow for this type of purchase in 2024. Recommended motion is that the board of education approved the purchase of two new bluebird 65 passenger buses from Holland Bus Company in the amount of $314,696.50. >> Motion is in order. >> Any discussion? >> Yeah, President, one more. Um again this is um 314,000 almost 700,000 purchase and um this is thanks to our residents who passed our scing funds. So um we just we just had another one go out um and what was it two years ago? We was it last year or the year before? >> August 25. >> August of 25. Yeah. We just had another one and that's why that last scing fund was so important. We can purchase buses um with this money. So,
044thanks to our residents for this. >> All in favor? >> Any opposed? Okay, motion passes. Moving on to item 13, comments from the audience. Again, we have none this evening. Item 14, review and recommendations. Superintendent, other central office admin, Mr. Fischer. >> Madam President, thank you. Uh, I want to just give another shout out and thanks and recognition to all of our uh, above and beyond staff members and our shining star students. And special thanks to those folks who took time to make the nominations. It's great to recognize both students and staff alike. Uh I want to thank our DECA adviser, Miss Bamarito, for the hard work and planning and certainly a celebration of our DECA students who did so well in Atlanta. And yes, thank goodness Spirit Airlines was not quite defunct and they
045made it back by the skin of their teeth. We're glad we were able to get them back. Something to celebrate. Uh great job from Miss Kohler and Miss Vujik on the presentation this evening on all the good things happening here at Garden City High School uh with the NWA growth. Very impressive. Also with the uh the added MTSS initiatives and certainly the uh Cogna accreditation. All things worthy of celebration and recognition and great work happening here. Um we do have some events coming up this week. We are in that season as I've shared before uh this week specifically board members just to keep on your radar. We do have the spring choir concert hosted here at Garden City High School. That's Wednesday, May 13th. That's this Wednesday. And also the spring band concert Thursday, May
04614th. And as unbelievable as it may sound, two weeks from this Friday is the high school graduation. So just keep those items on your radar. Any comments at all from the cabinet team members? Anything to share? All right. Uh with that, the next regular board meeting, we do get a bit of a reprieve with the uh the board meetings. Only one meeting this month consistent with the open meetings act. Uh we are not meeting uh a second time as a result of the Memorial Day holiday, but our next regular board meeting is Monday, June 8th, and that'll be hosted at the Farmington 56 campus. That concludes my comments. Thank you. >> Thank you. Item 15, review and recommendations. Members of the board, anyone have anything? Okay. Item 16, adjournment. >> Madam President, Mrs. Ro, >>
047I move that we adjourn. >> Any discussion? Support. >> Any discussion? All in favor? All right. Thank you everyone for coming. Have a great night.
