permitted an opportunity during a stated period during that board meeting okay uh and so starting the 22nd and mr green and msba says the school board association said that uh that we could wrap everything up in one so the meetings will be more efficient and effective everybody hear that out there just wave your hand if you can hear it if you heard that just wave your hand that's the classroom right there that's the classroom okay all right so uh that will make things a little bit more efficient in our meetings and when you don't have to stay in here with us all night okay all right uh the district will conduct a second annual back to school off on tuesday august 16 2022 from 6 p.m to 8 p.m in uh don cephalon stadium here

p.m in the santilli library entitled mastermind workshop this will be hosted by miss laurie she all she wanted me to say her first name only but it's laura mcgowan mcgill was mcgilvery and her team free of charge to the district okay this is a community approach to move our district into healing and real transformation we will discuss this once we get to this action item this evening it is on the board agenda for an action night it is time for the district to heal and be tracked as we move forward uh and i do have educational quote as i close out my report tonight always walk through life as if you have something new to learn and you will anyone who stops learning is old whether at 20 or 80. an investment is in knowledge
pays interest the best interest the only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change thank you yes thank you uh for the discussion items uh it is recommended by the superintendent that the board receives the presentation from katie vadas representing troon law firm to explain particulars pertaining to troons policy services okay come over skating if you'd like to you you don't have to you can put your stuff over there and then kind of talk to you thank you very much um my name is katie brodis i'm from troon law firm um my understanding is that lisa swem spoke with you at your last board meeting and addressed a little bit of the board policy service that our firm operates i wanted to give you more information on it
so um the policy service is about two years old right before coven coved started we we put out the policy service it's a full manual and i brought a sample here if anyone wants to look at it and kind of everyone asks how big is it that's always the question so this is the the full manual of policies and it's designed to replace any existing policies you have a lot of districts have viola and it replaces that policy service and our focus on drafting the policies was to draft policies that are legally required either required under state or federal law regulation policies that are we consider to be a best practice based on our experience and we have optional policies so as many of you know we represent uh most of the school districts in
the state probably about 90 percent of the school districts in the state in some capacity and in our experience we've had districts ask us to draft policies on various issues so we have optional policies based on that experience that we've had so we drafted the policy manual and we've been selling it now for two years um i have brought a packet of information i just want to go through kind of what we have here so that you can i have one for everyone we can pass them out but currently we have 87 school districts in the state that have purchased the policy manual and are in some form of implementing so that would be a school district or an isd that's that's the two entities that um are the policies we're designed to to service
and the unique thing about it is there's school districts that are the smallest school districts in the state mackinac city for example is one of the school districts very small district going all the way up to some of the largest school districts in the state um in grand rapids where i'm from forest sales public schools is one of the largest districts in that area and they are subscribed to the policy service so we've been able to i think very effectively work with many different school districts size urban rural suburban all of those districts to be able to develop a policy manual that applies to everyone so i have a list of the school districts that have purchased if you wanted to reach out to board members or administrators to get their take on it i'm
sure you could do that i included an order form it provides information on the costs and implementation so that if you have any questions with regard to that also just a frequently asked questions document with regard to the policy service um the the process for implementing the service so what districts would do if they were to purchase is to uh we would give them the whole policy manual and it's un accessible through our website and then we go through with them in a zoom meeting we have meetings every other month where we walk through the policies some language is optional some policies are optional so we walk through with administrators with your any uh administrators that want to attend the meeting any board meetings board members that want to attend the meeting and walk through
and kind of discuss what the policy service is all about what optional language why we selected language why we selected certain policies be able to answer questions that way so we walk through that in the implementation process so you feel comfortable by the time it comes to implementing the policies you've reviewed them you've talked to us about them we'll always answer questions that we have you may have that can come to us on the on the policies and we can work together to make you feel comfortable with them so there's some information on the um implementation process i have a table of contents so if you want to know really what what policies are covered what issues are covered here as opposed to what your current policies are looking at um i have a table
of contents so you can see what policies are covered and then i included some sample policies the policies are are one one aspect so we have this policy manual and then we included some forms and some administrative guidelines that helped to implement the policy so for example a complaint form something very basic but we wanted to make sure that if we drafted a policy if someone had a complaint regarding an issue under that policy they could have they could file a complaint form also just checklist thinking tree kind of like administrative type of tasks of how do i implement this policy to make sure that i'm not violating it in some way i'm working through the policy so we try to not just say what is the policy going to be but how are you
going to implement it and what pieces need to be in place to implement the policy so i'm going to hand out my packet here to everyone can we have did we get one for ryan let's get one did i miss one he's not here oh okay um feel free can can you just make a copy of that yeah apologize for that so i know i've given you a lot of information on the policy service kind of what it entails um i'm i'm available to ask any questions or if you want me to um go into any details on any of the information that you have in the packet is it katie yes katie normally as well i uh have uh our presenters to come to present to our administrative team would you be available to
do that too and give them some some background sure kind of helps us in on certain policies definitely because um the way that this is the most successful in my view um having kind of walked through many districts on this for the last couple years is when the pelt when you get the policies to be able to give certain policies or certain sections to the administrators that are going to be working from those policies so for example the 5000 series is the student section obviously that's going to be your principals are going to frequently work through those policies the discipline policy curriculum you're going to have special ed policies in there that if you have a special ed director is going to want to work through those issues so making sure that you're you're building
a team of people who are going to be hands-on with those policies that right from the start they can start reviewing them if this is something you're going to purchase they can start reviewing them and um getting their questions developed we can help work through those questions so for sure if if we want to schedule something with administration that would be fine a couple of questions so under just under board media 2500 there's electronic coordinating since we're not doing electronic board meetings would that be eliminated then from the policy so so you're you're right that's a that's a um astute uh catch there so electronic board meetings are permissible in really one area under the law right now we we used to have povid where you could do wholly electronic board meetings but the law
allows for electronic board meetings when there is a member of the board who is in the military and is out of town for military service so that's a very narrow exception so we do have that policy that references electronic board meetings in those scenarios because that is a provision under the open meeting guys also have that for disabled bodied people good good catch too yes so that was going to say there's two there's two exceptions the one directly in the open meetings act is the um the military exception but the more recent one too is the uh attorney general's opinion on individuals who are requesting um an accommodation under the americans with disabilities act and one of those accommodations could be a remote meeting and we address that in the policies by kind of directing
or funneling those requests for accommodations because um when you request an accommodation you have to go go through what's called the interactive process so we wanted to have a mechanism for getting that request in and how you start the interactive process so we did address that both in the um 2000 series which is the board bylaws and in the 4000 series which is employees because if you had an employee who had that similar situation you would want to go through the interactive process that them solved then another question um mr broadneck's superintendent reports tonight talked about changing the format of our agenda so are all these policies customizable to our district what we want to do they would be customizable i mean um we've had a lot of people ask that question but we feel
like we've drafted them in such a way that for example with your question about two um or your issue with two uh public comments versus one we don't draft the policies to limit you in any way in that area so all that's required under the open meetings act is that you hold public public comment that's all that's required it doesn't say one or two or the topic or whatever you want so that's really up to you into how you want to draft it so i think it's generally better to have a a broad policy that's not going to hamstring you or kind of put you in a corner as to how you're going to operate but gives the board the um the broad authority to you know just operate within the law and then you
can make decisions as to how that's going to look and one other question on the table of contents some things are highlighted in blue what's that for good question so those are the optional policies so let's find an example um i know the 2000 series best because that's one the one that i uh helped to draft so if you look at um two or i'm sorry the 4000 series is the one that i helped address 4 303 compensatory time and so there is a statute that provides for how you run a comp time program for your employees so if your employees can acquire comp time during the day the statute says how that is paid out in terms of compensation or used or stored or whatever it may be so we drafted the policy for
comp time because many districts have comp time but many districts also don't have comp time so i didn't want to draft the policy and open the door to have districts that don't have comp time now have to start having comp time so we made that policy optional so if your district has a comp time program then i would recommend that you would adopt the policy if it doesn't have a comp time open or policy i wouldn't open that door to start now so we want that and that's part of the implementation process is kind of walking through those blue um highlighted and then uh when you're looking at the policies themselves there's some blue um language within a policy because within a policy there may be options that you can select you can select one
two or three of how you want to draft that policy because the law allows you um to have an option for drafting that policy or there may be a blank that you have to fill in and we go through and explain to you why we made that optional language what we would recommend adopting in that language or filling in with that blank um so that you can you can customize the policies that way so you asked a good question on customization i feel like we've built in some mechanisms to customize on our own with some of the options that we put into the policies but also we've had districts that have said you know this student discipline policy is not how we do things we want we want to do it how we do it
and we will help you draft a student discipline policy but it's just not going to be part of the policy service where we provided you with that policy it would be above and beyond it would be billed above and beyond the policy service we've had very little school districts ask for a wholly customized policy there may be one line in the policy that they have a question about or they want to change or one policy that they've had for 25 years that they want to maintain we help them kind of embed that language into the policy manual but it's been very i can count on really two hands how many times we've had to do that because i feel like the policies are just um so uh uh drafted you know really staying within the
boundaries of the law that you really don't have to go outside of that to make it fit your your needs so another question something that we've done over the years we have tried to get away from the legalese and some of our policies so people can read them so our years very wordy and legal or readable i um i'm an attorney so i would like to think that they are very easy to understand that is always a focus that we have as we try to make the policies so that anyone in the community can can read them and can understand what they're saying because a lot of these policies are going to directly impact all of your students like your student discipline policy they want to know what types of protections they're going to be
afforded under the policy what type of notice they need in order to understand the process going on so we really we really did try to make these as easily readable as possible and i think a couple things that we did in the initial drafting phrases help so one thing is um when we drafted all of our policies we delivered them to two schools one school district and one isd so calhoun isd reviewed the isd policy manual which is very similar the policy manuals are very similar there's just some differences with the isd manual versus the school district manual and then grant in in grand rapids forest hills public schools reviewed the school district manual so before we put it out to anybody to for sale we had administrators who were committed you know early on
in this process to be our guinea pigs to read it and to give us feedback on it and we received a lot of good feedback where people would say this just isn't what our district does this is too broad we're too big of a district this wouldn't work or for a small district this wouldn't work so we really got some good intel and feedback from boots on the ground administrators just to really test drive the policies and see where we needed to change and then we went back through with another drafting process so the policies the policy manual this policy manual took a year to draft with all the attorneys in our firm participating in it uh because we wanted to make sure that we struck the right court of understandable language but including everything
and making it broad enough so that any district in the state can adopt it and it'll work for them and i think that we've done that you said your firm's been doing this for two years now so they started in 20. um we started right after uh or right before the pandemic hits so we put we sold our first policy manual in january of 20 and then the pandemic hit and even with the pandemic in two years we've sold over 80 policy sets and one other question your pricing information here says for the 21 22 school year so yeah we're gonna it's gonna be the same pricing for the 22 23 school year we're likely going to move up the pricing for the 23-24 school year that is that is likely um going to be
included and what we're working on for the 23 24 school year is um adding a couple new features to the policy service one being a model student code of conduct student handbook so that the student handbook that would align with the policies because you're going to want to make sure that those don't conflict at all and the second thing being a an employee handbook that would be designed for your non-affiliated staff so if you have any non-unionized staff we have a handbook that would work towards them and then also providing some language that would cut fill in some of the blanks with maybe your unionized staff and then finally we're looking at a disclosures information packet on any public disclosures that you have to make either on your website to your parents to your employees
um really you know information that they need to know um either under state law or we think that's best practice uh you know now is a good time you know looking at trainings going forward we want to make sure that employees know their roles uh every year they have notice of what's expected under the law with them and we want to make sure that we can help you guys through that and not miss anything so we're really looking forward to of how can we make this uh kind of a wraparound policy service to really help in all several different areas that will be included in this policy manual or we haven't we haven't discussed yet the the what it's going to look like in terms of costing and pricing for those additional services okay and
this is a yearly cost the there's a there's an initial purchase fee um in in there uh and then there's an annual updates fee so we do in june of every year actually this was the first week in july we send out updates for the policies so we review the policies if there's changes to the law cases come down things are interpreted differently we'll review the policies and make any appropriate updates and then send those out to school districts if the law changes during the course of the school year like the open meetings act was a good example we will send out updates during the school year if it means that your policy is going to be out of compliance so we are always trying to make sure that the policies are in compliance so
if the law changes you know tomorrow on something we're going to want to make sure we're getting an update out to you hey katie so if you were we were to go with this what would be the length of time to start the process and get it implemented great question i always say um school districts should should uh in an ideal world if i was running a district an ideal world i think three months is a reasonable amount of time so in month one you're getting the policy manual delivered to you through the through the website so you're reviewing it you're printing it out you're providing it to you know your different administrators who are going to be reviewing certain sections in month two you're attending the zoom meeting that i talked about where we
walk through the optional language we help you kind of try to fill in the blanks of what needs to be done and then in month three you're reviewing with the board and taking it to the board for implementation in implementation two is a two-step process i should mention this under the state law if you are going to amend your anti-bullying law or anti-bullying policy you have to have a public hearing before doing that so the step one of the implementation process if your policy is already in the boards um ready has reviewed it and ready to consider it at a board meeting step one is you repeal all your existing policies you adopt the um current the this would be this policy manual with the exception of the bullying policy because you need to put
that before a public hearing and then we have you do that at your next board meeting so at meeting number two you bring forth the anti-bullying policy and then you consider have a public hearing on that and you consider that and adopt that policy separately because they're that's the only policy that really requires an additional step in the implementation process so earlier in your uh presentation you said that it was available to view online so like we could look at all the policies right um not the what not like this manual but any of those not any a lot of those school districts that are on that list have already implemented so you could go on to theirs and see their final product of what policies they've they've uh the manual that they've implemented uh
would it be possible to reach out to trump to ask for specific policies because obviously i'm not about to quiz you especially how you mentioned you mainly worked only on the 4000 section so i don't want to put you on the spot but i have some questions so would it be okay to reach out to you guys via email to hear specific policies do i learn about them yeah if you have specific policy questions i can put you in contact like if it's a 4 000 question i can take that for sure but if it's like a 5 000 student question or a board policy question um the 2004 by-law question i can put you into contact with those attorneys who drafted them and they can walk through kind of what your question is awesome
uh if before you leave i can just have you write those down for me so i can email them that'd be amazing okay thank you any questions i feel like i've given you a lot of information in a short amount of time too if you have any questions um policy true law.com and maybe that's best to address your question too and you can it can come into that email and we can um send it out to the the correct attorney um policy trunlaw.com is gonna be your best resource to try to get um any questions answered uh that's where we fair funnel all of the um policy questions through so thank you thank you thank you thank you very much we'll now have another discussion it is recommended by the superintendent and the chief academic
officer that the board receives the positive view presentation from kenny spears mr spears hi thank god you guys are up here because i had no idea what the whole last thing was about i'm sure you did a great job it's glad to have the right people in place for that i missed all of it um i'm grateful to be here today i'm going to see how to i don't know if the if we have some tech support here because i do have a presentation i can't find it on here that we'll be walking through briefly let's see what we got all right so there's a digital presentation it's the positive you brochure all of the board members have it i'll just kind of go over it briefly with you guys we don't have it directly
up here but i'm sure you guys can feel free to pass this on to parents how many parents do we have here tonight let's give this young lady three claps [Applause] yes um obviously mr broadnax too you got kids here it's fantastic that's the most important role with all of our students is to create a family and communal values and then obviously to leave them in the care and concern of clintondale for the teachers to help be a part of it so i'm just going to give a brief overview of who i am and kind of some of the role that we'll be playing i'll talk briefly about the methodology this year as well um oh great sweet so is this on your screen oh they have it i i haven't memorized thank you heather
you're the best you're great thank you um so just a brief overview my name is kenny speer i'm the executive director of positive view positive view is an in-school social emotional learning platform and once again you guys will all have to broadcast this year as well i want to give just a brief overview of my back so i will talk a little bit about the methodology and then we'll move forward uh talk about political applications i i haven't memorized i'm thankful you're the best you're great thank you um so just to brief you my name is [Music] um so anyway i've served over the last 10 years i've worked in substance abuse prevention background i was the outreach development coordinator for the alliance coalitions i was the speaker for family access against narcotics i was
also the director of the regional youth initiative about enrichment in 2016 we branched off with the team to start what is now um really what happened is i came across uh a youtube video where i was diving into some of the clinical literature and i came across the talk by a guy named johann hari he's the author of the book called chasing the screaming in this book i remember in this specific youtube video he said um everything we think we know about mental health and addiction is wrong and i've been in the space for three or four years i thought i knew something and so we started to dive in everything we think we know had derived from a study that was done within the 1920s now in the 1920s what they did is they
had a rat and they put this rat in a cage you guys can try this at home if you've got any grass laying around um anyway so they put this gratification in this case they put regular water and they also put substance to water so it's heroin or cocaine water and what they found was if the rat chose to use substance water it would inevitably use it excessively and 100 of the time overdose and die and so how many people in here are familiar with to just say no slogan nancy reagan you guys remember that that was even a part of my education was to just say no just say no just say no just saying no well it wasn't until 1970 that a very incredible professor professor alexander came along and asked a simple
yet profound question which was what else was in the cage there was nothing in the cage so he went on to create what is known as rat park and it's everything that you would imagine rat park could be there's other rats to play with and colorful balls and tunnels and rat stuff whatever rats like to do and in that case they also put the regular water as well as the substance of water and they what they concluded is even if the rat chose to use the substance water by random accident chance it went from 100 percent overdose rate to a zero percent overdose rate zero in other words they found a sufficient substitute they found something that announced itself as more meaningful and so what we do as as positive abuse is directly correlated with
our with our methodology which is it's not about telling students to say no to bad decisions it's about giving them something to say yes we have to connect them with their primary purpose passion potential that's what we're here to do now one of the things that we do as an organization and very grateful for the board for investing in scl curriculum you guys are way ahead of the curve i've been at clintondale for the last three years through a pandemic bob walmsley and i connected three years ago and we started implementing the program covet obviously derailed everything as we know but now we know first and foremost that the uh the data couldn't be more alarming and so i don't know anyway um we're going to keep doing the enemies in the sound system that's
how that's good so the way that we implement our programs now what we've seen post code is we've seen a 333 increase in self-harm cases for kids ages 13 to 18. now mind this was already at an all-time high mental health disorders have legitimately quadrupled over the last 30 years we are the most addicted depressed anxious and suicidal group of people ever to walk the planet ever today now this is positive so i'm not going to stay on those data you know i'm not trying to be all negative but the reality is that there's a call to action and we're grateful to answer that call we're grateful to partner with you guys moving forward over the next two years both middle school and high school clintondale middle school and clintonville high school will be receiving
the full package student assemblies parent assemblies professional development days one-on-one training focus group journals motivational videos we also run a sports program with the athletic department and the beauty about clintondale is you guys being such a small community is such a benefit for your kids it's such a benefit for your district and teachers because i'll tell you what when i see some of these really really large districts it's very very challenging to provide that level of care and concern required for students to have a wholesale change mr broadnax was talking about the change a transformation is what you said a wholesale change in what emotions ideas attitudes patterns beliefs and behaviors we are up against some pretty gnarly stuff and our students are very much in the thick of this challenge depression anxiety suicide drug
addiction it's time that we do something but once again it's not going to be by saying no to those opinions it's going to be about connecting them with their primary purpose and passion so the cool thing is that because i didn't have a presentation went from 10 minutes to 5 minutes so we do have a little bit of time i want to open up to the board for any questions i want to meet you all and thank you guys in person for investing in your students in this way i commend you guys this is i think as important as any subject they could ever possibly learn so i'm grateful for that any questions for you guys any questions thanks guys we are investing and can pay we're going to pay for two years ahead of
time as that will come out of a grant if we're going to be transparent we do have the money and a grant it will not come out of general fund we have got it in a grant and will be paid ahead of time that's how how much we believe that sel is important for our students and we get to the midland high school it's really really hitting our middle of high school students certain is or i could speak to that if you'd like so the way that the so this week now welcome back the first week back for our teachers and educators and so this week we will be finalizing in the month of august every single presentation tv day assembly parent presentation motivational video as well as the journal content curriculum all of that
will be finalized in the month of august and we will be presenting it at a pd day with your staff in september i know that heather and i are working on some gates right now october 7th is another one that's an option for us and then october 1st we'll launch all programs throughout clintondale we will have a program coordinator oversee it with fidelity and connect with a positive champion in your middle school as well as your high school to make sure that we maximize our effectiveness within your students and so all of this programming is is actually in the process heather's been an incredible help bob's been an incredible help god i appreciate all the time he's investing to make sure that the kids get not only to get the program but to be able
to have it run with fidelity um so yes we have all of that scheduling in the workspace great question so i was looking through the presentation that you showed us and in the health portion it mentions spiritual wellness yes uh how exactly do you guys do that because there is the separation of church and states sure gotta make sure there's no what a great kitchen what was your first name again annika thank you so much so that's a great question i've given i've gotten it a lot we've done this now for five years and what she's referring to is so positive you the way that we operate is that we run through a five fundamentals this is unique to positive view and this is what all the clintondale students will be getting now when i
say this my mom's closer to my use that narrative yourself are already yours so when i'm telling you guys i'm really reminding myself the five fundamentals are health relationships creative outlet career path and service we want to get every person to thrive in five and so you mentioned health the number one most fundamental of all fundamentals health is the state of being free from illness or injury we focus on spiritual mental and physical wellness and so when we talk about spiritual ideas we talk about spiritual ideas all the time how many people have ever used the word passion raise your hand how many people have ever used the word purpose raise your hand so these are concepts that we cannot measure but we talk about it we treat it like it's real and so we're
referring to spiritual it's almost a category unto itself so we can talk about potential passion and purpose because purpose recognition work is really our niche and so what is purpose where do we identify where is it found and so that's kind of the framework is kind of a third category which is necessary i believe in order for us to maintain the highest effectiveness program what a great question thank you i appreciate it i want to piggyback off of that because you do like emphasize about health and stuff do you guys have slightly different methods for disabled students where sometimes the health-focused language often doesn't come across the way people intend it towards disabled people speaking as a disabled person myself so do you guys have a slightly different approach because there's certain language choices that
can be kind of exclusatory to disabled people in general totally and you know i come from a special education background so i went to michigan state originally for special education i've worked to have over four or fifty hours working with special needs students don't drink going i usually turn the room because some people are michigan fans i'm sorry um great question so i'm very familiar with with that um the line of work and our demographic with students i appreciate you bringing that to the forefront the idea behind health especially when we dive into the specifics of the content what we're really referring to is hydration we're talking about sleep we're talking about how many hours are you spending in front of a screen on social media and how this damages your dopamine receptors this is
a mental health crisis women folks we are in the thick of a mental health crisis this is an absolute catastrophe and i'm terrified i know way too much about it it's crazy and so the solution to that being we need to have a real honest conversation with all of our students about what would it look like to regulate your behavior to take individual responsibility in terms of how we're treating ourselves how we're managing stress and anxiety how we're sleeping at night i have students i'm not even joking i ask the students when we connect with them how many how many hours in a day are you on your phone mind you the national average you guys may be shocked to know this is ten and a half hours i when i heard that i thought
there ain't even ten and a half hours in a day i'm thinking about sleep i'm like how was there much day the average folks the average social media use of your typical middle middle and high school student this is from the kellogg center has all the research is 10 hours a day this is insane not to mention it's not like they're what are they watching they're not reading bible stuff on their phone or they're not reading science and school work maybe partially but what are they looking at they're looking at youtube they're looking at mostly things they shouldn't be looking at period and so we need to have a real honest conversation about that as a culture and as a society because of the awful ramifications that we're seeing in regards to the mental health
crisis so back to the question um when it comes to health this isn't like hey do push-ups every day run as fast as you can run a mile in a certain time we talk about that a little bit more specifically within our sports program which is separate but what we really want to focus in is behavioral regulation hydration sleep pattern sleep schedules circadian rhythm dopamine receptors how do we treat ourselves how are we treating our body what type of foods are we in taking what agrees with us what doesn't regulating drug and alcohol use eliminating drug and alcohol use fainting so on and so forth so that's really the i guess the category of health really encompasses that but that's a great question i appreciate that i can vicky bar that piggyback off of the
mention of phones and such uh do you have a program to replace the communities that often these teenagers are finding through social media which is the primary reason they're using it is to find these communities that they aren't finding in their physical community so do you have plans for that to help wean them off of it by giving them a different thing to say yes to absolutely no i think that's a fantastic observation i know and i and i get this i know that we are we have broken the singularity in terms of how phones are going to be used they're going to be attached to us forever they're going to get better they're not going to get worse there's going to be more and not less fully and 100 aware of that and so
by no stretch the imagination am i saying we're going to eliminate phones and go back to 1995 and crush all of our technology i know for sure that we have broken through this now directly to answer your question in terms of how people interact within groups i want to be able to have a real honest conversation about the safety and security of young people and who they're engaging with on online platforms it's not like being in this room we know everybody's in this room we can see everybody in this room you know it's not like a small group where we know people when we're connected especially online you have access to the entire world and so for us we want to be able to have an honest conversation what is benefiting our students what is
you know risky behavior with our students um and so for instance when we think about um pornography uses with our young people when we think about access to harmful and violent material and how this is changing the brain we need to have a real honest conversation and this isn't going to come by curriculum folks this is coming by personal relationships and so our hope is to answer this is to be able to provide that community and to create that community in clintondale like it used to be 20 years ago so i do want to real fast for full transparency to you i am a psychology sociology double major and i'm actually about to do my undergrad i'm halfway through my grad school um so when you've said like the consuming of violent stuff via media
and stuff and how it's affecting their brains um are you up to date on a lot of that because like that's often used against like video games and such when in reality science has not shown that effect in the way it's more towards of violent people tend to gravitate towards violent games not that violent games cause violence things like that so are you guys keeping up to date on that stuff because that is a field that is still actively being studied and it is very important to keep up to date on that stuff when you are teaching children absolutely so let me respond to that because what i'm referring to specifically is the most recent clinical literature not about aggression behavior this is not about aggressive paper this is specifically about the way that led
lights interact with your dopamine and so what happens is at a very young age if you have a blast of dopamine due to an excessive amount of contact with video games with cell phones every buzz beat ding is created by a psychologist by the way the highest most well-denied psychologist in order to create that experience for these young people to make them addicted to their phone to make them addicted to their video game so i'm not even referring to the killing games because i'm totally agreeing with you there's no correlation between active video games and aggression i'm very aware of that data i'm only referring to the clinical data in terms of the dopamine thank you i just wanted to make sure because you have some words there that kind of triggered off a oh
no that's a typical fearmongering tactic i gotta make sure i'm one and i'm 100 agree and i appreciate that thank you honestly like i'm i'm a geek in this stuff too so i'm more than willing to get in the weeds this is the fun part for me so i appreciate that and i think it'll be fun honestly as we move forward and dive into more of the methodology your input and conversation is super welcoming so thank you so much let's have a question so i know you're talking about the student the students in our district what about the home life because that is just as effective or least effective sure with its students now this is an incredible challenge um right now we run a school program we run a sports program we run our
one-on-one mentorship program there's 20 kids at six and kelly that we mentor a month and a half ago my 14 year old mentee darius who lives with 11 kids in a 1200 square foot house had 11 shots going through his house 85 percent of the kids that we work with are coming from single parent homes and coming from hockey this is an absolute overwhelming tragedy and it just speaks to more of the need and so the answer is can we start providing people not pay for people to come in and step in to bridge the gap in relationship with these young people when you see the quantitative and qualitative research data that we pulled from the sports program but we had 30 young men in high school and we made sure they were there we
taught them responsibility and accountability we were able to work with them and they're going to sit with super bowl champion greg jones and shelby hunter who graduated from you know once he played for nick saban at university alabama mark fox jr who played college basketball we're able to have that built in conversation it starts to help them understand by the time they're 13 kids are created the first 13 years of their life once they become into their teenage years to expand outside of their family life and to connect with social environments the parent support there is no substitute for it at all it's super important and so i think what you guys are doing well and what we plan on doing and operating our parent presentations is bringing this community together because i'll tell you
what the kids that go to the school if they have one parent or no parent or some guardian for them getting here we want to reel them in love on them bring them together as well and provide a communal atmosphere so they recognize that they're valuable and that you guys are willing to invest in it and it's it's such a painful problem to me i could cry because i really know how valuable that would be thank you for that thank you very appreciate it thank you and if you guys have any questions feel free to pass out my email i'd be more than happy to connect with you guys i'll be back here within the next couple weeks within school so thank you guys so much madam president one last thing before we move from
discussion uh i did not put in my report uh just kind of piggyback off of mr uh spears is that i have been in touch with aviation department and that's another program we're looking to bring to the district yes they will be out here once school gets started yes thank you we'll now proceed to public comment this is an opportunity for members of the public to voice their opinion and concerns about items on the agenda please note that members of the board will not engage in a back and forth discussion with members of the public but we are here to listen i encourage any member of the audience who wish to comment to please line up at the podium to reserve your chance to speak you we are your elected body and we are here
to serve the citizens of the community each individual will have three minutes to speak after your three minutes expires your might will be muted to allow others an opportunity to speak that being said are there any members of the public who wish to speak okay hi my name is barbara webb um jeremy it just not didn't settle my soul right last week how you spoke to a man of the clock being pastor and to um miss ross mrs smalls she the more she tried to calm you down the louder you got and it was so disrespectful to her and was disrespectful to him to pastor bradley and i just think everybody should know that you owe them an apology whether you give it to them or not that's up to you my daughter apologized for
everything she felt she said was wrong to everybody and i don't see why you don't deserve to do the same thing just out of respect for your fellow person that's all i have to say to determine whether i'm in order or not you're speaking to items on the agenda good evening uh ladies and gentlemen um i'd just like to make a quick comment on thank you very much for acknowledging and giving asme the opportunity to bring into the fold our secretary and mentors for the ccec program i feel it's been a long time coming those people that those positions have been super helpful for the district and i just want to say thank you all very much for acknowledging them and giving us the opportunity to bring them into the fold and being part truly

madam vice president were you there very experienced social worker coming from another school i think she'll fit in very well in the district well experienced and uh we're happy to recommend her tonight for hire so we're starting to close the gap with our social workers that should be number five i think we need one more one more that's great okay is there any discussion if not mr secretary please take a roll call vote miss coobie mr potter oh jess miss christopher yes mr mr schneider what's yes mr scott jess and miss louis moss vote yes motion passes item number nine it is recommended by the superintendent and director of special education that the board approved edward mackin as the director of business and finance effective august 22nd 2022 contingent upon approved physical record check fingerprints
this aligns with goal strategic goal number three human resources recruit and retain talent to support and enhance student achievement do i have a motion madam president it also would uh align to go to business and finance as businesses and finance we'll direct uh business and finance for the district we've been without a business manager a director of business and finance for a little while now it took us a little while and uh i am happy to report uh and recommend edward mckinnon uh for this position he has a lot of experience uh he has experience with the ak everything with the uh as400 ak as400 uh and uh he is not from the school sector so i'm hiring from him from the business sector however he has the financial background necessary to take care of
the finances of the district he has that business savvy to him he's handled budgets up to 130 million plus um i think that he will do very well we will need to get him some uh training in school finance with school finance uh and grants now i told him we have a great grand person in our chief academic officer that is still learning herself but she can handle the academic side of that and he can help handle the budget side of it the numbers you know numbers folk don't talk too much and so he didn't talk too much other than uh i consulted he talks a lot but uh uh this young man does not talk much but i believe he will be able to take our financials uh to the next level and i
i believe that he will start a couple weeks he's on vacation i wish i could be with him over in vegas but he is on vacation and will return to start here on the 22nd okay very good all right contract will be forthcoming i thought she had it ready but it will be fortunate thank you okay mr potter vote yes ms kuby is christiani mr schneider well it's yes mr scott you have some miss lewis moss vote yes motion passes item number 10. it is recommended by the superintendent and director of human resources that the board approved the resignation of catherine mary effected at the end of the day august 12 2022. this aligns with the strategic goal number three human resources recruit and retain talent to support and enhance student achievement do i have
a motion mr brockneck or lee could you please tell us about this item yes madam president miss merritt came when we really needed someone uh to teach virtual learning she thought uh split of grades two and three parker for the district she did a very good job kept her head down worked the entire time uh never had any problems out of her she would call me if she had apparent issue but she did very well we offered her the job to teach second grade in person however like you know she said with gas five dollars a gallon she would rather work closer to somewhere she can walk to and so i can't blame her we hate to lose her but being close to home i can't really blame her and so she did an excellent
job you heard what she said school district is great and so we wish it's married well i'm not talking about the school district court too now i'm not talking about i'm talking about here let's get that straight okay that's the secretary mr kubrick miss christianity yeah mr potter vote yes mr schneider oh it's yes mr capital chess and miss louis moss vote yes motion passes item number 11. it is recommended by the superintendent and director of human resources that the board approved the revised contract of employment of eugenia williams executive assistant to the superintendent and board of education um retroactive to july 1st 2022 this aligns with strategic goal number three human resources recruit and retain balance to support and enhance student achievement do i have a motion question more or less well i understand
barbara promised the meaning but anyway let's discuss and vote on it it wasn't writing oh legally i don't know well i did do is she lined up right now that is true but the board's direction was were to go back to personnel and then come back and i do not believe that there isn't a personal meeting since that time there was once a day when it was canceled and i think that we're going to have to um also check with the attorneys to find out because she does have something in writing that's why it probably should be tabled till we get those clarifications yeah so we'll talk with drew to to get verification so good can we amend that motion can you amend the motion it hasn't been there's only a motion and there is
no second so oh okay okay so if there's no second then the motion dives well then and there would have to be a second and then there would have to be is no second so the motion dies because there's no second motion if someone seconds the motion then you have to amend it to table it like to amend them a motion to go back to personnel and to table this okay how issue that so uh wait just so we clarify so the promotion is to take it back to personnel and check with our attorneys yes okay i just she didn't state that so i just wanted to make sure she was good with that no i'm good now okay okay um mr secretary ms christiani votes yes ms kuby mr scott chance and miss louis
moss yes i'll i'll call truman in the morning and get the paperwork that barbara gave to her and get it to trump okay personal meeting now schedule you're working out yes no they have to get some data yes they do once they do that then can i make a suggestion for that personnel meeting can we have it not on the day of the board so we have some time to absolutely ingest that information thank you okay i settled item number 12 it is recommended by the superintendent and the director of technology that the board approved chrome hero this software will serve service as an update system for inventory data collection for repairs reporting capabilities as well as trouble ticketing system note this is a one-time cost of seven hundred and fifty dollars to set up
the system and an annual cost of one dollar and thirty three cents per student this item aligns with goal number one student growth and achievement and item number two business and finance to maximize resources to provide high quality educational experience for all students do i have a motion all right madam president uh mr richard is going mr lerman is going to make the presentation to the board okay yeah so hello everyone um once again my name is richard lerman i'm the new i.t director for the district um one of the things that's critical for uh when you're managing your it assets is to know what those assets are and so currently the system that was in place was a spreadsheet so i'm suggesting this this system replace the spreadsheet which allows us to better keep
track of our assets be able to check in and out chromebooks more efficiently for the students allows us to do some reporting and enhances our trouble ticketing system and we reviewed multiple products and we felt this one had uh the best um that gave us the best bang for the buck for for the um for the district uh one of the things that i liked about this system is a lot of systems every year they raise their prices by a couple percents and this systems they they don't raise their prices so what we pay for this year will be again next year in the following the question is that the trouble tickets are they put in by students and staff or is that put in by the i.t department well these are the the the
users yeah so students parents and staff can put in trouble tickets we'll have a website they can go be trained on that yes some instruction given okay so this will bring us to the 21st century hopefully yes at least in terms of chromebooks are concerned yes what about the um that the teachers have what's going on with that so we have a system in place called file wave to manage our mac books and our pcs i've spoken with the company there's a lot more features that are available to us than we were taking advantage of so i'm working through that and trying to make sure that we fully capitalize on that so that we can use that system to to keep track of and manage our our key season on our macbooks well this sounds
lovely and thank you so much for your hard work thank you any more questions i can answer is 133 for students yes for the chrome hero product well we don't know we currently have uh one thousand and a half seven hundred and thirty nine students was the count i was given by that was last we don't know for the upcoming year though so it's it's based on our account right now so that's what and then you know from for next year when we renew we'll pay based on our accounts so is that with ats students or that's just only in-person learning students in the district right well that's the 1739 was the account given to me that that's the count the current couch yeah basil based on fts that does count ccc remember when we
got the report for ftes it was 2300 2400 so that's 1700 is probably about right so yeah so that um the 750 setup fee and the 133 per student this fiscal year it's three thousand sixty two dollars and eighty seven cents and then next year since we don't have to pay the 750 setup for you if it's the same count it would be two thousand three hundred twelve dollars it's worth it because they're coming into the 21st century well our hope with our new directions that we're going that that count goes higher yes yes always hope for the county thank you very much thank you miss kubick mr potter chess is cristiano yes mr schneider close yes mr scott yes and ms lewis moss vote yes motion passes item number three it is recommended by
the superintendent that the board holds a special meeting on august 20th 2022 the meeting will be held in the santilli library with the community support group this item aligns with strategic goal community engagement build strong relations within the community do i have a motion support okay madam president uh you know uh things have been different for a little while around here and so we're certainly glad that we have community members that want to invest in the district the success of the district students and with the board and administration and so on saturday what i need from you before miss laurie comes to give an overview of this but she's going to come and give an overview of this really quick i've already talked to her um saturday the 20th or 20th are you available uh
i think we've talked to most board members but just wanted to make sure everybody's available that could be mike are you available i talked to ryan but he didn't give me a go i would be available but only virtually okay so you're available is that one two three four five six so yes that's enough we do need to have it has to be as a regular or a special cardboard meeting as a special cardboard so we'll if we can get the agenda which i think i have it already um and you know the boy likes for me to start stay within the parameters of that ten to two so they can get out you're facilitating this but we like to they like to stay in that ten to two so they can get out and
enjoy saturdays so someone was like eight to noon but i don't know if some of us could get out of the bed next so um the name of it is mastermind is that right and we're gonna ask laura to come uh and uh kind of give a overview for you and uh and then you can vote and we'll go discussion she's part of this hello board mr brownex my name is laurie mcgilfrey grew up here in clintondale well i'm home in front of the campus okay i grew up here in clintonville my parents purchased a home just a few streets away when i was one year old i went to this school until my talk break this was the gymnasium i play basketball do you know what is that right i play girls basketball in

i had lived in the uk i've lived in spain i've worked with corporate i've run teams all over the u.s i've worked with factories and helped stop closing them around the world how can i help give back to these students to know that they can do whatever they want in this life and i walked these halls here and in the middle of school i lived here so i worked with his students on for several years my husband is james latrobeland sitting here if you would come up please if i could ask we worked with mike ward students and started project dragon quite a few years ago where we hired summer interns and these young students were chosen blindly just by projects that they did and we worked with them through the summers and they had
on their cv when they finished working with us that they had worked with international companies our summer interns were matt fuhrman tyler speed kevin stunneball alexis prim alexis i believe was a school of choice student who had come out from detroit at the time she's out in after she finished working with us and all the bigger thinking into results that we helped them through as they were working with us as as summer interns we were also mentoring them um tyler speed was originally looking at going to one of the universities in northern michigan that was his big dream he's graduated from pepperdine university he was going to living in malibu california i believe he's still living in california today he contacted us that he was over in the uk for a summer internship or summer
exchange student when we were living in spain he was in the uk and said are you anywhere nearby to come on up so we've worked with the students for some time that goes back mike ward reminded me a few weeks back that that was nearly 10 years ago that we started working together and mentored with mike ward i offered to help anyone and he wanted he was the only one that came forward and we worked with him and his class rolling forward we've worked with his students thinking into results in his psychology and sociology class and there were many of the students that left his class that we set giant goals with them giant goals and mr ward mike ward worked with them through the year and these students ended up having scholarships at the
end they ended up going to the universities that they wanted to go to none of the they all told me miss laura we thought you were absolutely crazy and you were telling us some of these things that were possible this is what we're looking to bring to the board and tish would you mind coming up as well for just a moment please this is this is one of my dear friends from since junior high school since the start of next door the state-of-the-art junior high school intermediate school back in its day we were all here a few weeks ago and decided there was a young man that came up his name was mark alexander he was part of this board a few years ago board of education there was also uh there's also rodney harris
you know rodney he's a you're younger than tish we decided two weeks ago that we were going to come forward and and share our life professionally our life in unique professional experiences tish has worked with general motors she's run teams of 400 people more diversity equity and inclusion she's written training programs for she's had two billion dollar projects that she's run as i said james and i we have stopped several factories from closing international huge factories that would have made massive holes in the economy had they not stopped for closure this was around the world rodney harris had the number one customer service he was the regional manager regional trainer for home depot retired from there he had number one customer service in the region mark alexander graduated kettering was number one kroger store manager
and he was the very first kroger store to have multi-million dollar sales per day thank you this is why they're here he now has his own business we've been mentoring with him as well he has his own business he's also set up in the uk he's also contracts working in australia he's all over the world so we're looking to bring our international professional unique experience to the board to the teachers to the leadership to the community to the students for a better community for the shining star that clintondale is and can be the brightest star shopping how about if we have let's just put one out there how about if we this is school of choice how about if we have parents from some of the districts that the students who live in this district
are going to help if we have parents from some of the other districts dropping their kids off here how many would you like let's set some of those james do you have anything to add um you'll hear a different accent my name's bateman james bateman as you can see here i'm not from here but i have had associations with this area for 10 years because of laurie and all of her friends and in fact when we left spain a few years ago laurie said we have to go back and live in michigan again i know we have things to do i didn't know what i had no idea what i just knew i had to get back she's advised she's advising us i'll accept that so what we're proposing is that we start with a
workshop with the board of education that everyone that i see sitting up here and if it's okay i don't know if it's okay if lee is involved and if um eugene if eugene is involved as well if that's okay i don't know is that vending rules okay that's what we're proposing for the very first workshop and we're all doing this because we love this community where we it's what made us who we are today we're going to be talking about paradigms we're going to be talking about terror barriers we're going to be talking about identities and identities being threatened and what that does to us when that happens and why why do some of these things happen we're going to be talking about the difference between an angle and a c type goal c type
goal to me would be james and i are going down to mary grove conservancy for their open house i can see clintondale being something similar to that one but not too far off but there's a bit of work we have to do first we're going to be talking about moral leadership principles listening to voices unheard and there's a lot of them here there's a lot of things we're going to be holding opposing values in tension what does that mean and how do we do that that's just the beginning and if you're okay with it can we go 30 minutes and and we're providing lunch rodney harris will be providing box lunch from a fabulous place i think he said from birmingham maybe something like that yummy food that's we we will be paying for all
of this out of our own there's materials there's books there's workbooks that i'll be putting together you'll have things to take with you for reminders and we'll be talking about going forward thank you thank you thank you thank you lord good question i had two questions one is you just mentioned materials uh as i'm due to disability not going to be able to be in person will you be able to send those to a digital awesome and then two is a lot of your conversation was very focused on academic and career focused and then towards the end there you added in the identity and values and such like that what are your guys's qualifications towards that because you guys showed us plenty of qualifications for academic and career but not much in like psychology or
mental or sociology since you didn't mention all that stuff i'm a trained certified thinking into results infinite possibilities have trained people around the yes thank you so much i'll get a vote mr mitchell mr potter uh vote yes scooby mrs christian yes mr pipe yes mr scott process lewis mosses seven uh as the grand traverse resort and spa and act michigan during the meeting delegates from across the state were do i have a motion i like to see more our board get more involved in uh the board development of course you know my evaluation i got hit on that mr scott uh and so uh uh if you can if you can get to some of these things please do so okay well the um validation that's only one part of it you still have
all of the classes and you know they just uh okay misb money so they will be paying for quite a number of the classes but it has to be in person so they'll pay for it and um she was telling me they had just gotten it she's not sure hotel might be covered so we'll be in business okay i think just for formality reasons though that the motion should be to appoint the people instead of you appointing them to go well i'm the legislative person just for clarity though the motion is that you are the delegate and you are the alternate right so the motion if you're good with changing your emotion to them ms cooby will be the alternate and mr potter you're good with to edit my motion to have miss moss as
the delegate and miss kuby as the um alternate thank you for some reason i wanted to say associate i'll support them is there any other discussion if not mr secretary please take a look our vote miss christianity yeah mr potter no chess mr schneider oh jess ms kubic mr scott police and ms lewis moss well against motion passes um we'll now proceed to the last public comment period of the meeting this is an opportunity for members of the public to voice their concerns about any item not on the agenda please note that members of the board will not engage in a back and forth discussion but we are here to listen again i encourage any member of the audience who wish to comment to please come to the podium each individual will have three minutes
to speak after your three minutes expires the might will be muted to allow others an opportunity to the first board that being said are there any members of the public who wish to comment yes uh and uh for the record those first two speakers that got up here spoke on something that was not on the agenda i checked the agenda and i didn't see what was on the agenda that they were referencing and what was just heard wasn't what was reflected last week last week was the reality the real reality that needs to be addressed the blacks myself first who got up to speak were shouted down by whites and accused of bringing racism to a district that they said had never exhibited racism before and additionally why were we blacks repeatedly interrupted at the
last meeting because besides being black we had the audacity to hammering on the obvious inequity in the ridiculous charges that were brought about against the black superintendent and the ridicule of the black board president by their ring leader jason davis and what did they do as we strove to get up and speak which we didn't do when they spoke they shouted us down and what did they do as we got up to speak they accused us black of racism and what did the board do to board acquiesce to their demand that i not speak in the first round of public participation when with the same rules in place i was allowed to speak in every board meeting until last board meeting when those whites showed up and told you in effect to shut me down
until the last round and still in the last round they interrupted well i have a right to speak and i have things to say and three minutes is really not enough i have things to say about those puny charges that were brought to manipulate the media and if they were successful would have been the public academic lynching of and ruining of the career of an accomplished black academician i have something to say about the elitism and the nepotism that is evident in this district i have something to say about the perceived quit proposed because of contracts that were weighted in favor of ats and so i feel that i have some things to say and i should be able to get up and say what i have to say and if it takes me coming
here three minutes each time until i have exhausted what i need to say i'm going to be here to address those issues and the madam president mr superintendent and board members i'm going to come up here every chance i get to say what needs to be said and at least i appreciate the fact that i was not shouted down at this time thank you again with all due respect sir when i came up here and talked and i thank the board of education and i thank the superintendent for respecting our people for that work for ccec they were listed on the agenda they are item number six and number seven so i clearly spoke when i was supposed to speak and now i speak again when i'm supposed to speak so i do take a
little bit of umbrage that you would choose to say i spoke out of turn i'm sorry sir i did not speak out of turn thank you i'm gonna try this again last time i didn't do it right i was out of turn i wanted to say jeremy it has not settled my soul the past couple of weeks how you spoke to a man of the cloth and mrs moss i do not know if you have apologized to them personally but if you have i applaud you however since you attempted to humiliate them in public we the public feels they need to up need an apology from you from the same form that you attempted to discredit them in abort meetings today if you haven't done it so if you feel like you should apologize it'll
be appreciated and if not i guess you just sit there and look like you're doing not saying anything but that's what i expected from you that's the kind of porch you remember you are you gotta keep going thank you for your time does anyone else want to comment if um uh i just want to share some good news uh with everybody about technology the previous director had submitted two applications for ecf funding to help to help our students uh both of those applications got approved so we just ordered 400 brand new chromebooks that are hopefully coming before the end of the month and we also have the ability to order 200 hot spots if the families need them so that they can be successful using those chromebooks at home so i just want to take
this opportunity to share that good news thank you okay um uh bob wamsley i'm the athletic director here i just wanted to comment that on friday july 29th we held the 39th annual bill of pisa memorial golf outing and we had more than 300 of our alumni and friends of the school that participated in the event and it was a great success the weather was beautiful we had low low uh humidity like 80 degrees so it was perfect weather i want to thank everybody who sponsored donated participated in the event helped with the event i know miss kuby you came out and helped mr potter you had made a donation to us and the whole school board you know thank you for the sponsorship of a whole uh you know all that goes right back
to our kids the sea club which has been in existence now for approximately about seven years officially has contributed more than 90 thousand dollars to various projects around the school to try and help upgrade and maintain our athletic department and with the likes of you know president uh jay blasios sheila pisa who's here and all the alumni who are involved in this you can see and lori and you know i know your program's doing great things but she reflected on it and and we have a strong alumni base who all want to see this school do well no matter where we've been where we're going we all want to see it do well and last i'm sorry two fridays ago was a perfect example of that you probably see some of the pictures on facebook
to where you saw a drone photo of all the golfers and all the people that were there prior to it uh but it was a quite a sight to see you know and uh i just want to say thank you to everybody who participated and uh all that stuff hard work and we're gonna you know put it to good use so that's my comment and secondly before i'll be done here less than that secondly fall sports started today and it was a hot day out there but we had over 30 football players out there we also had a good number of girls trying out for our volleyball team and our our cheerleading squad has been already selected so they started practicing today and then once school starts that's when middle school sports will get going
so we're off enrolling for the next school year so that's it thank you thank you seeing no one else the board will now proceed to approval of bills the board acknowledges that the list of bills for the period ending july 29 2022 have already been paid and that we need to approve the list of bills do i have a motion is there any discussion if not mr secretary please take a roll call vote mr chiami miss cooby mr potter bill chess mr schneider mr scott yes or miss lewis moss oh yes motion passes um if there's no further action do i have a motion to adjourn the meeting is there any discussion hearing no discussion uh we'll take a vote all those in favor aye all those opposed the most the meeting is adjourned thank
you very much for attending oh [Applause]
