Good evening. The Monday, April 13th, 2026 Invergrove Heights Community Schools Board of Education special meeting is called to order at 5.30 p.m. at the district's office. As a reminder, all public comment during regular school board meetings must be related to an information or action item on that night's agenda. The district holds public listening sessions prior to all regular board meetings to allow participants to speak on topics that aren't on the agenda. This meeting is being recorded and access to the recording will be made available on the school district's website as quickly as possible. Our school district's mission is to inspire, innovate, excel. Clerk Dukes, will you appear here? Here. Here. Here. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United
States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all. Do I have a motion and a second to approve the agenda items and to amend tonight's agenda as requested? We're not mending anything that was old language. Oh, sorry about that. Motion by Member Pearson to approve the agenda. And second by Member Warren. Do I have a motion and a second to approve the consent agenda items? So moved. Any discussion? I'd like to introduce or bring up Director of Human Resources, Emily Herman, to introduce the recommendation to approve the 25, 26, and 26, 25. members of the board, superintendent. We have come to an offer for settlement with the destroy unit that they have passed as well. It includes cost of living adjustments on their
salary, longevity increase, license differential, and a new position for next year. We also have some language around health insurance that changes, including increase in premiums, adding the HSA, and then a slight increase into the 4-3-D match. Different language updates as well to help with recruitment and retention around vacation accrual, the limitations on vacation selection haven't been removed, and then clarification on funeral leave. Also, just making sure that it's clear on how they get their reimbursements through the district policy. The cost of the agreement was within parameters of 4.2%, and it is our request for it to be approved here tonight. Thank you. Do I have a motion and a second to approve the contract agreement presented? I motion to move on to the last item. Second. Any discussion? Thank you for working on that. I
know it took a little longer and all the work. I want to say thank you to the Pistola team too. Great opportunity to talk and thank both of their hard work as well. All those in favor? Aye. We have several language enhancements including multiple areas of cleaning up language and clarifying existing language to provide clarity to the contract, moving some previous memorandums of understanding into the contract with any teacher who has five or more assigned preps being assigned an advisory or duty, and then teacher travel time requirements. We also have added where we will now post all positions online
for at least 10 calendar days. to ensure all internal hires have the option to review it and apply if they want. If we do have any sticky situation where we have to get a long-term sub right away, we can go to a mutual agreement with the union to limit that time frame. Clarification on some liaison committee language, and then an addition of multiple memorandums of understanding, including a safe learning environment, commitment, memorandum of understanding, hard-to-fill positions. and middle school lunchroom supervision needs.
